II

[Grian]

I had managed to start a base. It was just a dirt platform above a shipwreck in the middle of the ocean. And it was also surrounded by drowned, but at least I had a home in Hermitcraft now.

I glanced at the drowned zombies again to see that they were completely surrounding the platform.

Hands reached for him, hundreds, maybe thousands. Everything was dark around him. The rotting hands just kept reaching for him over and over again.

I shook my head not knowing what that had been and turned around to look away from the creatures.

"That's really interesting," Xavier sounded really surprised.

'What do you mean?' I tilted my head and continued placing the dirt.

"I know that place," Xavier answered. Something about the subject and his mysterious tone made me shiver. There was something I was supposed to know.

'What is it.?' I hesitated. Something inside my head told me to stop asking about it. The subject was dangerous, but I wanted to know more.

A scream ran through my head, forcing my hands to slap on my ears. It was a blood-curling scream that made my heart beat faster. It scared me, and I didn't even know why I had heard it.

'W-what was that..?' I asked from Xavier as I hesitatedly removed the hands from my ears before realising that the hands on my ears weren't mine..

I spun around as a figure disappeared to nothing from behind me. My spine shivered. Someone had been there, behind me, covering my ears from the scream inside my head.

'X-Xavier..?' I called out, but he wasn't there anymore. He had disappeared to go AFK somewhere deep inside our shared mind.

A buzzing from my pocket made me jump. I places my hand on my chest as I pulled out my communicator to see the message.

I shook my head and raised my eyes from my communicator. This was the mess I had gotten myself into last year.

I sighed and put more sand to the furnace before turning around to break my bed. The bed obviously didn't want to work with me and just jumped to the water, starting to sink towards the seabed.

"Bye, bye bed," I just said out loud as I watched the bed dissappear to the deep ocean.

After building a few layers of sand on top of my platform, I went to get the wet bed from the ocean, while trying not to die to the drowned zombies.

I dodged another trident that flew towards me and hurried to place my bed on top of the platform.

My shoulders was bleeding crimson liquid to the white sheets as I laid down to skip through the night.

I got up once the day had changed and dived back to the salty ocean water, ignoring the pain that the water caused in the wound.

Grian was impaled by Drowned.

Well, that hadn't gone as planned, but at least I spawned on top of the sand pile. Now I just had to go and get my stuff back. Easier said than done.

Grian was impaled by Drowned.

Damn it.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to make a beginning to my base, I finally succeeded. There was also a pretty useful chest in the shipwreck.

"Don't you have a meeting to attend to?" I screamed as Xavier's voice jumpscared the shit out of me.

'You could have warned me before saying something!' I exclaimed to him through my thoughts.

"Nah, you would have screamed anyways," Xavier huffed, making me groan.

But he was right though, I had to go to the meeting before I would be late. I didn't want Mao spamming my communicator again.

A strawberry blonde female bit her pink nails, not caring if they broke. She stared the empty paper in front of her.

"Is something wrong?" Asked her manager, who had walked to the room.

She turned around to look at him, "No."

Her manager tsk'd. He turned around and began walking out of the room before stopping by the door, "You have an interview in an hour. Be prepared."

She didn't say anything. The door shut behind him and soon his footsteps disappeared somewhere farther away in the hallways.

The clock continued ticking on the wall as she scribbled words on the paper before erasing them off again.

"Ariana, are you there?" A voice asked from behind her door. She knew who it was and remained silent.

"I know you are there. There's no use in trying to make me think any different," They continued. She still remained silent.

"Tsk, I guess you just like playing the silent game around me, but trust me, you'll tell me what I want to know eventually," Like warm blood, their words dripped from the doorway to the room, where she was sitting.

"I will never tell you about my siblings," She answered in a cold tone, "No matter how much you hurt me, no matter how bad you break me. I won't tell you what you want to know," She didn't even once turn around to look at the door.

"Brave words from you, Ariana. But I don't think you can stand your ground for long enough. I know that Griande is not your real last name, and you know I will figure it out. The Watchers know everything, and you're aware of that," They spoke once more before their ghostly footsteps informed her that they had left.

She glanced at the paper again and shook her head. "It's not safe to send a letter," she whispered before tossing the paper into the trashcan.

The hallways echoed as a silverish-brunette ran through them. She bit her lips and tried not to look behind her. She knew she just had to get somewhere public to be safe from the danger chasing her in the dark hallway.

The only source of light was the lantern she was carrying. The light cast shadows on the walls, but she ignored the way they reached after her.

She knew it had been a mistake to go to the abandoned catacombs under the Main World, but she really wanted to find out a few little things.

She also knew that no one knew about the catacombs' existence, which meant that no one would find her body if she died.

One wrong turn would be the end of her life, but she still hadn't taken her devil's hand. She would dance on her own until the very last breath she took.

A light started appearing in the distance. She knew she would make it out alive, this time. The creature wouldn't follow her anymore because it didn't like the daylight.

Her echoing footsteps that clanked against the old stone floor began slowing down as she reached the ladder that would lead her up.

Her lantern shattered against the floor as she reached for the ladder with both of her hands full. Her hand hit the metal just a second after the glass broke on the cold stone floor and she began climbing out of the place that had been about to turn to her grave.

Soon her hands touched the grass and she breathed her lungs full of the fresh air thar was nothing like the thick, old air in the hidden catacombs.

The entrance shut behind her and she used her magic to seal it. She didn't want anyone accidentally entering the place and getting themselves killed by the danger that lurked there.

She gave the entrance one more glare before hurrying off towards the Main HQ. She didn't want any of her siblings knowing about the entrance because then, they would know what kind of risk she was taking.

Xelqua opened his eyes to see the Main World rise in front of him as majestic as ever. It was a place he would recognise even with his eyes closed.

The streets were empty, the fear was real. No one was walking around like they had used to. No one wanted to stay in the world because of its dangerous atmosphere. The shops were closed, most permanently. The world had lost all of its majestic glory.

Xelqua shook his head and tried to ignore whatever that had been. He had to focus on something else, like finding the Chaotic-squad. He had to go meet up with his three favourite siblings before the meeting.

As he began walking towards the park, he noticed a silverish-brunette running towards the HQ with a lot of books in her hands.

He wanted to go ask her about it, but decided to remain silent and focus on finding the Chaotic-squad. It was his number 1 quest on the moment.

He turned around and started scouting the area to see if any of them were already over there.

(I actually went and watched Grian's first episode of Hermitcraft)

(I'm finally getting my word count up :D The second chapter of TEW actually contained more shit, but I decided to cut it to two chapters and make a few lore changes. This is probably getting more chapters than the original books)

(Also, I survived through the 1st exam of my exam week. I gave the next one tomorrow, but still here I am, writing a fanfiction at 11:30 pm-)
