Putting Together A Team

Third Person POV:
Midtown Manhattan, New York
A day after Y/N and Kate met with Professor Xavier
The scene crackles with tension as Peter Parker, better known as Spider-Man, enters his apartment, his senses tingling with the unmistakable presence of danger. With a cautious glance around the room, his gaze lands on a figure seated in the shadows, a flicker of recognition sparking in his mind.
Peter's heart quickens as he locks eyes with the mysterious intruder, a sense of foreboding settling over him like a heavy shroud. As the figure steps forward into the dim light, revealing himself to be none other than Y/N Wayne, the weight of the moment hangs in the air like an unspoken challenge
Y/N: Peter Parker...I believe we met. I'm Y/N Wayne.
Peter: Uh...oh! Right...that New Year's Eve party in your manor, of course. What...what brings you here, Mr. Wayne?
Y/N shows Peter a surveillance video of Wayne Manor with Peter entering the kitchen pantry and exiting as Spider-Man the night when Mr. Freeze invaded the Manor
His revelation casts a shadow of doubt over their previous encounter, the implications of his discovery sinking in with startling clarity.
Peter: I...I can explain. It's not what it looks like, I swear. I mean, yeah, I was there, but...but I was just...I had to...uh...protect myself...from the bad guys
Y/N: I looked for you in every database possible...no records of anything before 2024. Who are you, Mr. Parker?
Peter's heart pounds in his chest as he grapples with the weight of Y/N's question, the truth heavy on his conscience as he struggles to find the right words to explain his past actions. His decision to erase his existence from everyone's memory weighs heavily on him, the consequences of his sacrifice now coming to light in the face of Y/N's scrutiny.
Peter: I...I made a choice. A difficult one. I...I asked Doctor Strange to cast a spell...to make everyone forget about me. My identity, my existence...all of it. It was...it was the only way to protect the ones I love. To keep them safe from the dangers that follow me.
Y/N listens intently, his expression unreadable as he absorbs Peter's confession
Y/N: I'm putting together a team...people with special abilities. You see, I believe that there are threats incoming...from anywhere. And we need to be ready.
Peter takes a deep breath
Peter: I...that's gonna be tough...
Y/N: Why's that?
Peter: After that whole incident with my secret identity, I decided to focus more on myself, y'know? Be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Y/N nods, understanding the gravity of Peter's decision and the personal journey he's embarked upon in the aftermath of his sacrifice.
Y/N: I get it. But sometimes, being the hero means stepping up when the world needs you, even if it's the last thing you want to do. I'm not asking you to abandon your life, Peter. I'm asking you to consider joining forces with us, to help protect not just your neighborhood, but the entire city, maybe even the world.
Peter listens, his mind racing with conflicting emotions as he grapples with the idea of returning to a life he thought he'd left behind. But deep down, he knows that the responsibility of being a hero never truly fades, no matter how hard he tries to escape it.
Peter: I...I'll think about it. But no promises.
Y/N nods, respecting Peter's decision as he extends his hand in understanding.
Y/N: Fair enough. Just know that the offer stands, Mr. Parker. Whenever you're ready.
Peter hesitates for a moment before shaking Y/N's hand, a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken bond they share as heroes.
Peter: Thanks, Mr. Wayne. I'll...I'll be in touch.
As Y/N makes his way to the door, he turns around and throws a batarang towards Peter. As the batarang whirs through the air, Peter's Spider-Sense tingles, alerting him to the incoming projectile. Reacting with lightning-fast reflexes, he swiftly dodges the spinning blade, narrowly avoiding being struck.
Peter: Whoa!
Y/N watches from the doorway, a hint of amusement in his eyes as he sees Peter's quick reaction.
Y/N: Just a little something to remember me by, Peter. Take care.
Peter: Wait...you're Batman!? WHAT THE FU-
Y/N exits the apartment, leaving Peter to ponder the unexpected encounter and the uncertain future reserved to him
After that, Y/N calls Kate, who was in the Batcave, with all the adresses Charles provided them so they could locate the potential members to their team
Y/N: Hey Kate...he's not 100% in on it.
Kate: Oh...I'm sorry to hear that. Head back to the cave. I think you'll like the next candidate.
...
A couple of days later...
Chicago, Illinois
A group of dangerous criminals gather in a dimly lit warehouse. The atmosphere crackles with tension and anticipation as they speak in hushed tones, their voices carrying the weight of their nefarious intentions.
Criminal 1: Did you hear about what went down in New York?
Criminal 2: Yeah, I heard the Batman tore through Arkham like a tornado. Took down half the rogues gallery single-handedly.
Criminal 3: He's become a real problem for the bosses. We can't afford to ignore him anymore.
Criminal 4: So what's the plan? We can't just sit around and let him keep running wild.
Criminal 5: I say we send a message to all the families. Let's join our forces and take down the Bat once and for all
Criminal 1: Our human trafficking operations have suffered huge blows ever since he came into the picture. Not even the Devil of Hell's Kitchen caused this effect on us.
Criminal 3: I heard he can disappear.
Criminal 4: I heard he can fly.
Criminal 5: You're both talking nonsense. He's just a man in a costume, nothing more.
Criminal 1: Whatever he is, he's costing us money and power. We need to find a way to deal with him once and for all.
The criminals pause mid-discussion as a blur rushes past them, leaving them momentarily startled and suspicious. They exchange uneasy glances, their instincts on high alert as they wonder if their presence has been detected
After that, a criminal is dragged into the darkness, his screams echoing through the warehouse. Panic ensues among the group as they scramble for weapons, their fear palpable in the dimly lit space. They realize that they are not alone in the shadows, and whatever entity lurks there is not to be messed with
Criminal 3: I...I told you guys! It's the Bat! He's not human!
Criminal 4: I'm outta her-
The criminal, who was running towards the exit, gets tackled by the figure
The remaining criminals freeze in terror as they witness their companion being swiftly subdued by the mysterious figure. Their attempts to flee are met with a relentless pursuit, as one by one, they too are pulled into the darkness, their cries silenced by the unknown assailant
???: You're gonna wish it was Batman instead...
The figure's chilling words hang in the air, sending shivers down the spines of the remaining criminals
Managing to get out of the warehouse, the last criminal's heart races as he locks eyes with the enigmatic figure looming above him. Clad in a stark white hood and cloak, the imposing presence of Moon Knight sends a chill down his spine, instilling a sense of dread unlike anything he's ever felt before. With a single glance, Moon Knight silently communicates a warning: justice will be served, and no one is beyond its reach
Moon Knight descends gracefully, his white cloak billowing around him as he approaches the petrified criminal
Moon Knight: You all cross lines every single day. Gunrunning, human trafficking...this ends today. I want you to tell your friends about me. Tell them that I'm not Batman and this isn't New York
Criminal: Wha- who are you?
Moon Knight: I am the protector of the travelers of the night. I am Khonshu's Avatar. I am...Moon Knight.
He lets the criminal run away and spread the word that there is a new vigilante in Chicago
Moon Knight: You can come out now. I know you're here
As he says that, Batman emerges from the darkness, his imposing figure a stark contrast to the moonlit night
Y/N: Mark Spector...or should I say Steven Grant?
Soon as he says that, Moon Knight outfit changes, now wearing an all-white three-piece suit and having a british accent now
Mr. Knight: That would be me. Pleasure to meet you, Dark Knight
Y/N: I read all about you. Your battle on Cairo brought a lot of attention towards your skills.
The man dressed in the white suit then changes back to his original clothes and original personality
Moon Knight: Why are you here?
Y/N: I believe there are unimaginable threats coming towards us. Either at my level or yours. I want to build a team...a large group of people with special abilities. Are you in?
Moon Knight: The path I walk is a solitary one, guided by the will of Khonshu. But I have always believed in the power of alliances, in the strength that comes from unity. If the threat you speak of is as grave as you suggest, then perhaps it is time for me to reconsider my stance.
Moon Knight extends a gloved hand towards Y/N, a gesture of solidarity and acceptance.
Moon Knight: Count me in, Dark Knight.
With a graceful leap, Moon Knight launches himself into the night sky, his white cloak billowing behind him like the wings of an avenging angel. As he disappears into the darkness, Y/N watches silently
Y/N: Moon Knight said yes
Kate: That's great...now, let me deal with mutant number one on our list

Dakota City, Nebraska
The clash between Virgil Hawkins, also known as Static Shock, and his fiery nemesis Hotstreak fills the streets of Dakota City with bursts of energy and flame. Their powers clash in a dazzling display of light and sound, drawing the attention of bystanders and onlookers
Virgil: C'mon, Francis. You're better than that! Put your back into it!
(Played by Caleb McLaughin)
Hotstreak: That is not my name!
As the battle rages on, Virgil uses his electromagnetic abilities to create barriers of energy, attempting to contain Hotstreak's flames and protect the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. With each calculated move, he strives to outmaneuver his opponent and bring an end to the chaos that threatens to consume the city
Virgil: Okay, Burnout. Your flames are a little weak this morning. What happened?
Hotstreak: SHUT UUUUUP!
Hotstreak hurls blazing fireballs at Virgil, aiming to overwhelm him with the searing heat and destructive force of his pyrokinetic abilities. As the fiery projectiles streak through the air, Virgil reacts with lightning-fast reflexes, evading the incoming attacks with agile movements and quick thinking.
Using his electromagnetic powers, Virgil generates electromagnetic fields to disrupt the trajectory of the fireballs, causing them to veer off course or dissipate before they can reach their intended targets
Virgil, who had an earpiece to talk to his tech guy, Rick, also known as Gear, hears a different voice this time
???: Attract him to the top of the building to your left. Use the water tank in your favor.
Virgil: Uhh...who is that? Gear, is that you?
Gear: No...I think someone hacked into our channel
Without hesitation, he adjusts his strategy, luring Hotstreak towards the designated building while keeping a close eye on the water tank positioned atop it.
As he dodges Hotstreak's fiery onslaught, Virgil navigates through the urban landscape with agility, leading his opponent to the predetermined location. With a surge of electricity, he unleashes a powerful electromagnetic pulse, causing the water tank to rupture and release a deluge of water cascading down towards them.
Hotstreak, caught off guard by the sudden turn of events, finds himself doused by the torrential downpour, his flames extinguished and his powers dampened by the water
Virgil: Check the forecast. 100% chance of rain.
With Francis neutralized, Virgil notices someone observing him a couple of buildings away.
He focuses his attention on the figure observing him from a distance. With a keen eye, he scans the area, trying to discern any details that might reveal the stranger's identity or intentions
With a mixture of caution and curiosity, Virgil makes his way towards the mysterious observer, his senses heightened and his instincts sharp
Kate: Solid work out there.
Virgil: I suppose you were the voice in my ear.
Kate: That's me. Kate Bishop, nice to meet you.
Virgil: Virgil Hawkins. So, what's the deal? You seem to know a lot about what's going on.
Kate: Let's just say I'm part of a group that's keeping an eye on people like you. We believe there are threats on the horizon that require...special attention.
Virgil's interest is piqued, his mind racing with questions and possibilities. He senses an opportunity to make a real difference, to use his powers for something greater than himself
Virgil: Stop right there. I'm in.
Kate's eyes widen in surprise
Kate: Wow...okay. That was quick
Virgil: If there's a chance to help make the world a safer place, I'm all for it. Besides...I'll get to work with a beauty like you, so...
Kate chuckles, impressed with Virgil's forwardness
Kate: Don't get ahead of yourself, Static. My partner wouldn't like to hear about you hitting on me
Static awkwardly looks down
Virgil: Right...partner. Uhh...who's your partner?
Kate: You'll meet him...soon enough
Virgil: How?
Kate: We'll call you. And don't worry, you'll have a convincing excuse to go to New York
Virgil: New York? No, I got...I got school...and I didn't even finish my college essay...
Kate: Bye Virgil.
Kate then leaves the rooftop, leaving Virgil alone with his thoughts
...
A couple of days later, after going through some more team members, Y/N and Kate find themselves on the outskirts of a bustling city, where reports of a new hero emerging have been surfacing with increasing frequency over the last months. Their destination: New Jersey, where rumors of a mysterious figure fighting crime and saving people have piqued their interest
Kate: This guy is the real deal, Y/N. We need to find him.

You will travel far, my little Kal-El
But we will never leave you... even in the face of our death
The richness of our lives shall be yours. All that I have, all that I've learned, everything I feel... all this, and more, I... I bequeath you, my son
You will carry me inside you, all the days of your life
You will make my strength your own, and see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine
The son becomes the father, and the father the son
This is all I...all I can send you, Kal-El
New Jersey
Girl: Frisky! Get down from there!
As the girl's distress catches the attention of the crowd, a flying figure clad in red and blue swoops down with grace, effortlessly reaching the stranded feline
Superman: There you go, Miss.
(Played by David Corenswet)
Y/N and Kate observe from a distance, intrigued by the newcomer's display of heroism. They exchange a knowing glance, recognizing the potential in this unexpected ally as they see him fly away
Minutes later, Superman, his cape billowing behind him, gracefully lands on the balcony of his apartment. With a sense of fulfillment from his latest act of heroism, he steps inside, shedding his alter ego to embrace the solitude of his civilian life
Y/N's voice then echoes with a weight that draws Clark Kent's attention. Turning with a curious expression, Clark faces the unexpected visitors in his apartment
Y/N: Clark Kent...we need to talk.
