Peace...for now

Third Person POV:

As the dust settles, Batman watches over the aftermath of the prison riot in Rikers Island

He sees a Daily Bugle van arriving at the scene. Vicki and her news team

Vicki: This is Vicki Vale live from Rikers Island, and it appears that the riots in the prison have been contained. And we have reasons to believe that the masked vigilante known as Batman was involved.

After that, Kate arrives at the rooftop where Batman is

Kate: What is it with you, rooftops and watching over people after a dramatic battle?

Y/N: Shouldn't you be down there?

Kate: I'm not waiting a million years for the police to get my statement

Y/N: I'm sorry, Kate. I let Bane discover my identity and you got caught in the crossfire. I almost lost everything once again. You, Alfred and Lucky.

Kate: I'm sorry about Alfred. He died protecting me.

Y/N: I brought him back.

Kate: He's alive?

After that, they see military men arriving at the prison on helicopters

Y/N: Alfred, take control of the jet and take Kate home. There's something else going on here.

Alfred: Certainly, sir. Initiating drone mode.

Batman grapples Kate up to the jet and goes to listen to the conversation

He uses the enhanced tech on his cowl to hear it

???: I want to talk to the men in charge of this operation.

Gordon/George: Here.

???: My name is Captain Rick Flag. Federal Agent.

(Joel Kinnaman as Captain Rick Flag)

Gordon: Why are you here?

Flag: The incident in the prison is now a federal matter. The NYPD is not in custody of superpowered prisoners anymore.

George: What!?

Flag: Don't worry. They'll still be located here in New York. Just not in Rikers Island anymore.

Gordon: Where are you putting them?

Flag: Federal Government has given my agency carte blanche for this whole mess. They call it The Raft. The Government already had this kind of facility overseas. But this time we'll have three maximum security facilities here in New York. The three of them are gonna be separate prisons. We'll begin building The Raft soon enough, Rikers stays the same with your regular petty criminals and we will re-open the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum.

George: That place has been closed for years. Are you guys sure about this?

Flag: I'm positive. All criminally insane convicts will be spending their time there. Hopefully, with the police's help, we can put The Bat in there too.

Gordon: Why do we have to arrest the Batman and let other vigilantes roam free the streets of New York?

Flag: Well Captain, those were commissioner Loeb's orders before he passed away. And besides...Batman is way more violent than Spider-Man or any other dork that puts on a spandex suit trying to save the city. I mean, do you remember Frank Castle? He is a murderer and the whole Government had to hunt him down before he disappeared. We know nothing of Batman's methods...yet. My boss will contact you soon.

A couple of minutes later, Y/N returns to the cave

There, he sees Alfred patching up Kate's forehead

Y/N then takes off his cowl, revealing the bruises on his face

He then proceeds to take off the upper part of his suit

Kate and Alfred look concerned at him

Y/N: I'm fine, I just need some ice

Alfred: Sir, I am so sorry for trying to use your parents against you earlier tonight.

Y/N: It's fine, Alfred. Water under the bridge.

He hands Y/N a piece of paper

Alfred: I found this in your father's old study. His final message to you.

Y/N then reads what's on the paper

In the event of my death, I hereby declare that all my worldly possessions pass to my son, Y/N Wayne. Y/N, I ask that you honor the Wayne Family legacy, and commit yourself to the improvement of New York City, its institutions, and its citizens. Please, be strong. You are young, but destined for great things. Make the most of your opportunities. Use them to give back to a city that has given us so much; to change the lives of millions of people. Do not be frivolous with this wealth. Please, do not waste it all on fast cars, and outrageous clothes, and the pursuit of a destructive lifestyle.

Invest in New York, treat its people like family. Watch over them and use this money to safeguard them from forces beyond their control. My deepest regret, as I will not see you grow into the good man I know you will become. And finally my son, I ask that you never abandon this city to fate.

We have lived through dark days, and no doubt there are more to come. But it is the good and great men who stand up for New York when others turn and run. In death, I will love you forever. Your father, Thomas.

Y/n could see his tears dropping on the paper

Y/N: Thank you, Alfred.

He just smiles at Y/N

Alfred: I'm gonna prepare dinner.

The three of them and Lucky go up to the manor and have dinner. Alfred made spaghetti alla carbonara for Kate and Y/N while Lucky eats pizza

After dinner, Kate and Y/N go to sleep

The morning after:

Kate wakes up and sees that Lucky is sleeping on Y/N's side of the bed

She goes downstairs looking for Y/N, but she sees Alfred cooking breakfast

Alfred: Good morning, Ms. Bishop. Breakfast?

Kate: No, thanks Alfred. Where is he?

Alfred: Master Wayne is down there...again. Make sure you give this to him, he'll know what it's about.

He hands her a newspaper article

Kate uses the cave's elevator and finds Y/N reviewing the footage from his cowl of last night

Y/N: I didn't want to wake you up.

Kate: It's frustrating having to wake up and seeing that you're not there.

Y/N sighs

Y/N: I'm sorry. I just had to check this out.

He shows Kate a file on Captain Rick Flag

Y/N: That's the guy who was on Rikers last night. He said his boss is responsible for putting two more maximum security facilities in New York.

Kate: He's a federal agent. Maybe Federal Government is his boss.

Y/N: No, not the entity. Someone's in charge, and I'm going to find out.

Kate: Maybe it's Secretary Ross. He's quite involved in these superhero questions.

Y/N: Maybe...

Kate: Oh, and Alfred told me to give you this. He said you'll know what he's talking about.

She hands Y/N the newspaper article

Kate: What is it?

Y/N: Alfred told me to throw a party for this man, Ferris Boyle. He's a new philantrophist on the block. CEO of Alchemax and does great humanitarian work. It's also a chance for me to step into the spotlight once in a while. I'm thinking about having a New Year's Eve party.

Kate: Sounds great.

After that, Y/N puts on the news and they both see Vicki Vale

Vicki: Good morning New Yorkers, this is Vicki Vale and do we have news for you. After the riots at Rikers last night caused by the Joker, it is expected that the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum be reinstated so all the criminally insane can spend their time there. The Federal Government announced that a maximum security prison for superpowered individuals will be built near Rikers Island and Arkham Island.

After that, Kate and Y/N go up so they can have breakfast

There, they see Lucky eating out of a bowl with his name on it

Alfred: I bought some "dog things" for Lucky, sir.

Kate: That's amazing, Alfred. Thank you very much

Alfred: You're welcome, Ms. Bishop. And you, sir? Have you thought about what we talked?

Y/N: I did. Make some calls and set up a party in New Year's Eve and make sure Ferris Boyle is the guest of honor.

Alfred: Very well, sir. I'll begin the preparations.
