Prologue

So, this is a Rewrite of "The Kid from a Different world", which sadly got deleted with all of my account. I will start over the whole book, and since i am improving, i might make the Prologue better. In my opinion, the Previous was a little Cringe.

Anyways, This is a reboot for it, so lots of changes possibly, and Enjoy.

Somewhere in Cologne, Germany, 1945

A Battle was occured between the Allied Forces and the German defenders. The Allies were currently on the winning side of this battle, their Overwhelming Sherman tanks had defeated the Panzers and most of the Defenders.

Then, a Tiger tank known as Stefan was overwatching the battle. The Commander of the tank was Peter Müller, along with 3 other crew members. 2 of them were Rookies, but 1 one of them was a veteran. His name is Kertz, which was the Driver.

As they waited there for a perfect time to strike the Allies, one of the Rookies spoked. "Kertz, take us to the bridge!" The Rookie was Hartmann, a 17 year old man who was forced to Conscript in the army. He conscripted here, since he is good with vehicles.

"What?" Kertz tried to asked back on what he said. Hartmann was about to asked back until the other Rookie spoke. "Are you mad?! We can't abandon the attack!" He said as he Disagree with Hartmann.

This Rookie wanted to Fight for the good of his Nation, No matter the cost. The Rookie was only 19 and he goes by the name of Schröder.

"It's suicide! We're going to die! Don't you see? There's nothing but death in this! There's too many of them!" Hartmann stated to Schröder while looking to the Battle, seeing the Allied forces along with their Larger tanks.

Schröder just Scoffed. "Calm your nerves, man. May God be with us!" Müller had enough of all the argument and went inside the Tank. "Quiet! All of you be quiet." He ordered to the Two rookies as he glanced to Hartmann. "We'll be at the Bridge soon enough. For now, we do our job."

Hartmann silently sighed and Schröder went back to the Gunner seat. "Kertz, Drive us Forward!" Peter ordered. Kertz nodded and shifted the gear into Forward. He stepped the gas as the Tank moved to the Battle.

The Allied Forces were unaware of The Tiger tank joining the Battle, then they were attempting to Destroy it before it causes damage to their Own Forces. The Tiger crew engaged the Shermans and the Allied infantries with the Main cannon and the Machinegun.

Some of the Infantries with Anti-Tank Weapons were hiding behind the debris and the sandbags, waiting for the Opportunity to shoot at Stefan. While that was happening, the Sherman Calliopes used their Rockets along with their Cannons.

The Tiger took out a few of the Allied troops while getting to Cover and Repairing the Damages. When Stefan was fully fixed, they drove him back to action. Hartmann reloaded every shot the Tank fired, with Schröder firing the Trigger of the cannon and the Machinegun.

More Allied tanks showed up while Hartmann begin to noticed that they were Outnumbered by 10:1 . "They have so many....Jesus christ, they have so many!" He said with a bit of fear. "They have tanks, but we have a Tiger." Müller Clarified.

The tiger tank kept fighting all the Sherman tanks and the American soldiers.

The AT infantries were retreating, but they were quickly gunned down. One of them got shot in the shoulder as he was still alive. He saw the Tank going towards him while Panickly limping away from it. He was too late as the Tank Crushed the Poor soul's whole body, letting out a scream of pain for a few seconds.

Hartmann heard the man's scream in the tank while cringing. He tried to stayed focused and ignored the deaths of the Allied soldiers, while he Breathed fast and trembled a little.

After Minutes of Fighting, the Tiger tank managed to Eliminate all of the Allied Forces in the area along with Destroying most of their Tanks. "I don't think anyone else is coming. Let's move on, Kertz." Muller said he opened the hatch and viewed the Scene.

The Tank moved forward to Schimek Railyard. An AT infantry survivor fired his Bazooka to the tank, but he misses, allowing the Tank's machinegun to fire at him. As they continued to advance, red smokes started to appear around them.

"Commander! Red smoke! What is it?" Hartmann asked while Müller went back inside and closed the hatch. Then, Several Planes were heard.

An Allied mosquito plane appeared from behind the Tank and Fired it's guns to it. The shots missed as Kertz Maneuver the Tank. Another Mosquito appeared from their side and too fired it's weapons.

All the shots either hit the ground or grazed the Tank, but Stefan is still standing. Kertz turned right into a building. The tank burst from the wall while the Roof managed to hide it from the Planes. They stood still for a few seconds until they can hear the Planes flying away.

"Check for damages." Müller ordered, which Hartmann responded. "Jawohl." Hartmann went to the back as Peter went to the Front. "Status report?" He asked. "This cover's not going to last. Someone has to scout a way through." Kertz stated. Peter dropped his head a little while sighing.

"Send Hartmann." Schröder said.

The two looked at the 19 year old Rookie about his suggestion. Kertz was a little confused by this. "What the hell are you talking about? The man is in no state to be-"

"Trust in our strength, Commander. That's what you said, right?" Schröder leaned closer to Peter, which he interrupts Kertz sentence. "No weakness, no sentimality." He continued. "Oh, for god's sake." Kertz complimented.

"You are too important to risk, and i Operate the gun." Schröder stated. "Then i'll do it." Kertz volunteered as he was about to get out from the Driver's seat, but Schröder stopped him. "No, you have to drive."

Peter tried to carefully think about this, while The rookie kept Pressuring him. "Hartmann's already damaged, Expendable, he is weak." He hesitated since he does not want to do this. "Are you really going to send him?" Kertz asked.

Peter closed his eyes and finally made his Decision. "Hartmann!" He called out for him. "Ja?" He answered. He turned around to face the 17 year old German while he breathed softly and continued. "Get out of the tank. Scout us a way through."

Hartmann stood there while he was shocked, then he look to Kertz who disagrees with this. "Jesus Christ, Müller. No! The man is in no fit state!" He looked back to his Commander and Begged. "I can't. Please, Peter. I really can't-"

"Get out of the tank, Hartmann." He cut off his sentence while handing him an MP40. "I'm asking you to do your duty." Hartmann grabbed the MP40 as he hesitated. He then made a serious face and nodded while heading towards the Hatch.

Kertz just hits the Wheel in frustration as a response.

"That goes for all of you." Peter said to Kertz and Schröder while Hartmann is climbing up to the Top Hatch. He then opened the Hatch while climbing out of the Tank. As he is out, he dropped to the Ground with his MP40 Ready while he trembles.

He walked forward out of the building and knelt down in front of a debris. Meanwhile, The Crew kept the Tiger's main cannon aiming at Hartmann, so that they can see him. Hartmann moved from debris after debris as he took cover, while the crew moved the cannon on his direction.

Hartmann was now standing behind a wall, while carefully leaning to the Window beside him. The crew zoomed the view of the cannon to see him Clearly. Hartmann peeked his head to the window and pulled back each time.

Then to the Crew's view, a large gust of dust was flowing infront of Hartmann, till the point they were unable to see him. The crew waited and waited until the Dust begin to cease from their view. However..Hartmann was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Hartmann? Where did he go?" Kertz Questioned as he Zooms out to see if he was elsewhere in the ruined building, but they still cannot see him. One reason came up to Schröder's head, is that he Left his post.

"He deserted!" He said. "You don't know that!" Kertz Replied as he doubt it.

"Quiet!" Peter ordered.

The Trio kept quiet until they feel a little rumbling. The rumble gets louder and the tank started shaking. Peter looked to his left and saw the bolts shaking while some of them fell down. Kertz also looked to his left as his mirror was also shaking until it fell down.

Schröder went to one of the windows as he saw the Cause of the rumble. "Movement at nine o'clock." He said, as Kertz added. "And at twelve!"

Outside of their Hiding spot, a large battalion of Allied soldiers and tanks were passing through them. They haven't noticed them yet, but it wouldn't be long if they found them.

"Kertz! Get us out of here!" Peter ordered.

"We can't leave Hartmann here!" He protested as the Tank stayed for a few more seconds. Peter looked at another window with More Allied soldiers getting close to their Position. "Get us out! Go!" He yelled.

Kertz just gritted his teeth while shifting the gear to forward as there were no other choice. The Tank rolls out from the building, Leaving Hartmann behind.

Elsewhere in Cologne

Hartmann was seen running away from the Previous location. He also felt the Allied convoy coming to their direction, so he had no choice but to Ran away, leaving his Crew behind. It was hard choice, but he did to Live.

After a few minutes of Running, he stopped to rest by put his hands on his knees and Catching his breath. He wiped off some of his sweat with his whole body feeling hot like fire. Hartmann then looked to his front while admiring the current view of the city.

Cologne was once a nice city for a few years back, he sometimes went here with the rest of his Family. But when the war began, everything is in ruins from the bombing runs of the Allies. He sighed as he did not wanted this to happen, especially to the rest of the civilians.

Hartmann regained his strength and continued, this time he started walking since there weren't any Allied soldiers nor German forces. He was afraid when he gets caught from them. If he was caught by his own Countrymen, he'll be labeled as a Traitor and they might possibly Hung him or something.

It was part of The Fuhrer's policy. He ordered every German citizen to defend the homeland from the Allied and Soviet invaders. They conscripted people who were Old and Young, even the Weak, like Hartmann.

The Horrible thing is, if they disobeyed orders or Left their posts, they'll be brand as Traitors for the Fatherland, and the High Ranking officers or those who are Loyal to the Fuhrer will not Hesitate to shoot them in cold blood.

On the other hand, if he was caught by the Allies, Hartmann thought that they might either just execute him or they'll send him to one of their Labor Camps and might possibly die there too. In reality, Most Soldiers from the Western Allies treated their POWs kindly and Humanely, Hartmann just does not notice it.

He walked for a good 5 minutes then he went inside a destroyed building to Rest up a little by sitting on a box, which looked untouched. Hartmann was thinking again on what will happen to him after this. 'Will the Allies capture him?' 'Will his Countrymen find him and kill him?'. These thoughts race through his mind as it made him dizzy.

Then, his eyes caught on a Certain object on the Ground. It was a Brown book and it looked very clean, which confuses him since it supposed to be dirty from all the dust and dirt. He stand up and went to the said book.

Hartmann picked up the Brown book and it looked like he was looking at the back of the book, so he flipped it around to see the Front. The front was pretty strange for the German soldier. It had some weird symbols that is almost Foreign in Germany, or even the whole world. He also cannot see any white pages from the sides, the book was all covered up in brown.

What caught him the most was this weird Dark green symbol that looked like 2 Gears that he can see or find in Factories. One of the gear was big as it almost fit the whole cover, and there was a small one from inside of the Big gear.

"Wonder who's book was this belong too?" He asked himself.

He inspected the weird book again until he noticed that the weird symbol acted like some sort of Button or switch. His instincts said to him about pushing it and see what happens, but his brain said to not push it and leave it alone.

His instincts took over as he pressed the Emblem.

Hartmann waited for a minute and nothing seems to be happening, he shrugs as he was going to throw the book away. Then, the Emblem begin to light up with the whole book. Hartmann kept holding on to the book as he was amazed by it.

Suddenly, the emblem lighted up brightly which made Hartmann to cover his eyes. The Gear emblem was lighted up like the sun. To surprise Hartmann even more, the emblem started moving like a regular gear.

Hartmann was speechless, this had to be a work of magic, but magic is nonexistent in Earth. A voice then spoked from the book, "You are the Chosen, our Hope..." Hartmann's Jaw Dropped until it felt like it hit the Ground.

The Emblem stopped moving and lighted up very brightly, which almost blinded him. When he opened his eyes, he saw that his Arms were covered by the Green light. He screamed as he tried to let go of the book, but it seems to stick to his hands.

The Light didn't hurt him, but he kept Panicking as the Green light continues to consume him as it went to his arms and into his body. His MP40 was also getting consumed by the green light and it is heading towards his head.

He let out another panic scream when the light begin to consume his entire head and his Cap until he wasn't able to speak. When Hartmann was fully consumed by the Green light. The Emblem then explodes into a blinding flash that covered the entire building.

When the flash ended, the book dropped down to the ground as Hartmann was nowhere to bee seen again. Footsteps were heard running to the Building as Two American soldiers check the area since one of them heard Hartmann's scream.

They lowered their weapons as one of them was wondering what they just heared. "Strange...I swore i heard a scream right here." He said.

"Probably is just your imagination. Now, come on, the Germans are almost defeated in the city, and we don't want to miss the action." The other soldier said, which he nodded and went off with him.

They did not see the book, However. The Gear Emblem begin to fade, along with the languages. Not before the same voice spoked. "You will help us."

The emblem finally disappears from the book.

And that was the Remake of the Prologue. I gotta say, i think i did pretty well with remaking it. The old one was over 1000 words and it focused on 1st person.

Now this version is over 2000 words and focused heavily on Third Person.

I also replace the Rose Emblem with the Gear, and on how Hartmann got transported to Remnant.
