Chapter Ten
"Damn, I think my fin is starting to flop over. I never even knew that was possible!" George groaned, he had just got done falling sideways close to the glass. As a result his chin wound up getting bruised from bumping against the edge and his entire right side was sore while his left was nearly numb from barely any usage. "Really how can anyone stand doing this for days on end?"
It was a mystery indeed, much like how the workers there couldn't tell what he was saying and assumed he was hungry. "He's still not eating, you don't think he's sick do ya?"
"Well he does need his energy boost before tonight's show. Maybe we can put him in with that bull he always hangs around, we could use backup on that whole first crossbreed beluga-orca thing. That cow was starting to become lonely anyways." This perked George's interest, as he recalled Ringo was missing his pod the last he saw of the shortest merman. "Ol Maraqua could use some young blood in her tank after all, the breeding program is about to begin."
Before the orcas could react, they were scooped up once again and taken to a smaller tank where an elderly beluga sulked on by. "Umm.. Excuse me miss?"
"Richie!! Oh. I'm sorry, I just thought you were my little calf. I know he's a grown man now but I still think of him as my little baby beluga. Do you know him? Wait, I don't recall seeing you around here before, I thought all the orcas were taken." She panicked, her fluke splashing against the side of the pool. "Have you seen a little beluga out there with bright blue eyes and soft brown hair? He has a deep Scouse voice and a large melon. Please I must know if he's alright!"
"Huh? Oh you mean Ringo! I never knew his name was really Richard, you're his long lost mom I bet! He's alright, he's with a pod called the Aqua Crew dedicated to protecting the lives of all sea life! I bet they're out looking for us right now, I know it!"
"I wouldn't get my hopes up, what makes you think they'll know we're all held here? For the longest time being hauled on those metal monsters was instant death, they probably think we're long gone." The older orca growled.
"We have to have a little more faith than that Kai, I'm sure we'll find our way out of here! The Aqua Crew has never let anyone down yet!"
---
And much to George's delight they were on their way. "He's way down south in the tropical waters in some sort of circus for sea creatures. From the looks of it they're also the reason why all the orcas have gone missing, at least we know he's still alive." Brian announced once he returned to the lighthouse. "Where's John? I'm sure he would be pleased to hear the news about this."
"Somewhere with a girl he found, she's a big blue whale! They've been hanging around the coral reefs, busting up some really tough met-err I mean boats. He really likes her! But I bet not as much as Paul likes George, he's been talking about that orca all day long." Ringo remarked, watching as Paul sighed as he watched the cloudy sky. "He'll be overjoyed to know that George's alive at least."
Upon hearing his name Paul practically tossed himself ashore. "George is there?! I have to get to him! I bet I can go and rescue him myself!!"
Brian would have chuckled if he wasn't concerned for the safety of the youngest merperson. "I do hope John has a plan on how to get in and get everyone else out, even the smallest merfolk will be crushed under their weight on land. We have to find some sort of way to get the ocean to lead us there."
