Rainbow smiled as she walked down the hall, book in hand. She was coming out of school. She and Applejack had handed in their essay of their experience.

She left the school, her heart soaring. She couldn't be more happier with life at that moment.

Walking out to the soccer field she sat down under a large tree. While she read she didn't notice the soccer team come out. The team practiced for a while. Rainbow at some point put her book down and watched. She watched Applejack the whole time.

That girl could play, that was for sure. Rainbow stood, leaning against the tree and sighed.

"She doesn't need me. I mean look at her. She's the star of the school. She has everything. I have nothing".

"Everything but a girlfriend", a voice said.

She knew that voice like the book she's read over a million times. Turning around she saw Applejack standing there, in uniform. Rainbow smiled.

"Oh uh, hi Applejack".

Applejack walked up to her.

"Rainbow. We're gunna have ta work on your self-esteem isue. Cause that's a problem".

Rainbow sighed and turned around. She felt arms wrap around her waist. She froze for a moment. She pulled away. Pushing up her glasses Rainbow turned around. She faced Applejack.

"I'm sorry. I just, I'm not use to having people care about me. You're the only one".

Applejack frowned. She watched as Rainbow looked down. She had a broken look on her face. It broke her heart.

"Ya know I love you right??".

Rainbow looked up at her in surprise.

"What??".

Applejack smiled. "Ah do. I love you and I would never do anything to hurt you. Ah promise ah won't".

Rainbow frowned. "Don't make promises you can't keep".

"But ah can keep this one. I've never lied ta ya, have i??".

Rainbow shook her head. She began to smile slowly.

"I guess not. I'm just being stupid".

Applejack frowned. "No you're not. You're just guarding your heart so you wont get hurt and left".

Rainbow looked at her and nodded. Applejack took her hands in hers.

"Ah won't leave you or hurt you. Ah promise ah won't. I love you and ah don't care what anybody else says. You believe me??".

Rainbow nodded. Suddenly she pushed Applejack out of the way. She caught a ball that would have hit her in the face if she hadn't. It was a soccer ball.

Looking up she saw Applejack's teammates looking at her.

Placing it on the grass stepped back. She kicked it. The ball flew into the air. I landed almost completely across the field.

Everyone looked at her as she helped Applejack up.

"Sorry AJ".

Applejack looked at her shocked. "Did you just do that??".

Rainbow looked at her confused.

"What did I do??", she asked.

"You just kicked that ball across the field", a voice came.

The two turned and saw Spitfire standing there. She held the ball in her hands.

"You've got skills there girl".

Rainbow's eyes widened.

"I do?".

Spitfire nodded. "Oh yeah, you do".

Applejack nodded.

"Do you wanna play with us a game or two??".

Rainbow looked at Applejack shocked.

"You want me to play with you guys??".

The girl's nodded. Rainbow smiled.

"Okay".

The girls walked out to the field. She was introduced to the team.

"This is Rainbow Dash. Mah girlfriend".

The teammates grinned at her.

A boy snickered.

"I knew it. Pay up you guys".

Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked at eachother.

"You guys bet that we were dating??".

They all nodded. "She sat with you at lunch, carried your books that looked way too heavy for you to carry on your own. It was pretty clear but nobody would even notice you at all, except AJ here. Why's that??".

"Because she's miss popular and I'm the opposite. Miss Outcast".

Rainbow grinned. The team frowned.

"Well not anymore. You're cool. We like you so you're our friend now. Any friend of ours is now popular. But we don't let it get to our heads".

Rainbow smiled.

"So..... no more being invisible??. Only at home now??".

Applejack frowned.

"How are your parents??".

Rainbow sighed and crossed her arms.

"They still ignore me. Yesterday I was talking to my dad about gating an A on a test and my mom cut meoff and then when she finished talking she said, "so what was it you were saying Crystal??". She forgot my name!!. I was so humiliated that I just stayed in my room all day. It was in the morning so I basically had to starve myself ever since. I wasn't about to go down there and be caught in the middle of another argument".

Rainbow sighed again. "I wish you didn't have to meet them. I feel so embarrassed you had to see me get beat by my mom. I'm sorry".

Applejack placed a hand in her girlfriend's shoulder.

"Babe. It want your fault. Your parents are just terrible people and that is that. You don't deserve ta get hit like that. Ah was about to kill er when she dared touch ya".

Rainbow shrugged.

"It's better than getting ignored and forgotten instead of getting yelled at all the time".

"Rainbow??", Spitfire interrupted.

Rainbow looked at her. Spitfire walked up to her and wrapped her in a hug. Rainbow froze. She didn't know what to do.

"What are you doing??", she asked.

"It's called a hug", Spitfire said pulling away.

"Ohhhhhh. Yeah I've seen people hug before. In movies and stuff".

Spitfire's eyes widened. "You've never had away hug before??".

Rainbow shook her head. "Never had anyone to get a huh from. Never been hugged by my parents either".

Applejack took her hands.

"Ah guess we have physical ion tact and self-esteem issues".

Rainbow placed a hand on her hip.

"Physical contact??. I get that alot".

"I mean contact that doesn't involve hitting and marks and bruises".

"Oh". Rainbow blushed.

"So anyway. You're one of us now so we don't anyone mess with you. Anyone dares to hurt you, we deal with them. Get them in trouble that is".

Spitfire smirked. "I wanna meet you parents. We all do. Just to see how bad this child abandonment is".

Rainbow shook her head.

"Trust me. It'll be boring. They greet you then start arguing and them ignore you for the rest of the time. Nothing will happen".

Applejack raised an eyesbrow. "Really??. Cause when I went over there you got slapped and cursed at. That isn't boring".

Rainbow shrugged.

"So it's settled. We're going over to your house later".

Rainbow sighed.

"So this is what having friends is like. I'm iffy about this whole friends thing".

"Trust me Rainbow. It'll be worth it. We'll help you out if you think you're backing out. Try to escape we'll drag you right back in. That's what friends do so don't think we'll just let you give up. No way!!. We'll tie you to the bench at lunch if we have to. We're your friends now and you're stuck with us".

Rainbow didn't know how to feel. She looked torn between happiness, fear, confusion, creeped out, and a whole bunch of other emotions.

"You okay??", One of the other teammates, Soarin, asked.

Rainbow looked at him. "Not sure. I-I never had friends before so I don't know how to feel".

She looked at Spitfire.

"Sorry??".

Spitfire raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you sorry??. You have nothing to be sorry about".

"I'm sorry for being awkward and sad and self conscious".

Applejack took her hand. Rainbow almost pulled away until Spitfire took her wrist.

"Let her hold your hand. Get use to it".

Rainbow relaxed. She awkwardly stood there. The other laughed.

"You look afraid for some reason. Like Applejack's hand is gunna eat yours".

Rainbow thought for a moment.

"That could be a great story. A story of a girl who gets kidnapped by scientists and they do experiments in her for years, slowly turning her into a mutant half animal, half human. Then she gets the chance to escape she takes it. Then she meets someone who takes her in the hide her from the people searching for her. And then they slowly fall in love as they get to know eachother. Then when they finally admit their feeling the girl gets kidnapped one day and it's up the you the person to rescue her and-".

She stopped talking and looked around.

"I'll shut up now", she said quietly stepping back.

"No. That's a great idea. You should totally write it", Spitfire said with with a smile.

"It sounds like something ah would read", Applejack said.

Rainbow looked at her shocked.

"You like science-fiction?".

Applejack shrugged. "I don't really read".

Rainbow's mouth fell open. "How can anyone not like to read??. Reading is life, reading is love. Reading is the reason I breath!!".

Applejack grinned as Rainbow ranted about how reading was the best thing in the world and very important and how she would die without it.

"It's like, almost as important to me, as you are. I swear I would DIE if books didn't exist. How can you people not read??. I just don't understand. I use to ship me and books before I met you but now I ship us. Me and you are my OTP and the best part?".

Applejack raised an eyebrow.

"We're conon".

"Ship?", Applejack asked, clearly confused.
Rainbow face-palmed.

"Forgot. You're not an Internet slash book freak like me".

Spitfire laughed.

"You have some weird words. Care to explain. Like you said ship and OTP. What's that??".

Rainbow's eyes widened. She sat on the grass l, grabbed her sweater and screamed into it. It went on for a moment. When she was done she stood up and looked at Spitfire.

"Are you okay?", Soarin asked. "Cause you seemed to have had a mental break down right about then. I've seen worse but just checking".

Rainbow nodded. "Just..... okay. A shipping is when you put to people that would great as a couple. Canon. Ever watched teen titans??".

They nodded. "Well I ship Star fire and Robin. I ship them as a couple. They're canon which is when they actually become a couple in the show at a point. Get it??". They all nodded.

"Now OTP means ONE TRUE PAIRING. It's your top ship. Your number one couple that you ship in a show or movie and if anyone says anything bad anything about it, they're dead".

Spitfire's eyes widened.

Rainbow nodded. "Yup, dead. Well I make exceptions. Others dont".

Spitfire smiled nervously.

"How about you just stick with sports??", Rainbow suggested.

"Yeah. I'll do that. You're funny Rainbow, you know that??".

Rainbow was surprised.

"I am?", she asked. Soarin nodded.

"Yup. You don't notice the goods things about yourself, do you??".

Rainbow shook her head. "I've never been told there's good things about me".

Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist. Rainbow looked at her.

"Well there is. Ah could name alot".

Rainbow laughed. "Okay I believe you".

"So let's play".

Turns out Rainbow was better than they thought. She scored goals faster than they've ever seen. It was cool. She even was able to steal the ball from Applejack more than twice. The look on her face was priceless. Rainbow had stopped and laughed. She laughed and laughed. Tears ran down her face, she was on the ground clutching her stomach.

"I'm gunna die".

Applejack sat down on the grass watching with amusement as her girlfriend was dying of laughter.

Finally after anther minute Rainbow sat up and wiped her tears away.

"My face hurts but it feels good".

Applejack rolled her eyes. "You done or Ah'm ah gunna have ta stay here with ya all night watching you laugh??".

Rainbow nodded. "I'm done".

Spitfire helped them up. Rainbow sighed. She looked at the time.

"Shoot!!".

"What??", Applejack asked.

"I have to get home. Like now. Bye".
She kissed the blonds cheek and ran to get her stuff.

The others ran after her.

"Rainbow, wait".

The girl stopped and looked up.

"Yeah??".

"I can drive", Applejack offered.

"Yeah. We're coming too. By what I've heard, I don't want you to go home alone", Spitfire said.

Rainbow looked at her. "You don't have tog do that. It's only an hour and half walk. I'll be fine".

Spitfire crossed her arms.

"Come one. We're taking you home and we wanna meet your parents and see what they're all about".

Rainbow sighed and gave in. "Fine. Let's go".

So who wants to see what goes down??. I might add another chapter to see what Rainbow's new friends do when they meet her parents. Who wants to??
