In the night, there was almost silence in the residence of Yusei and Jaden. The reason that it was almost silent was because Yusei worked on a few mechanic things for his job. But that didn't matter, as Jaden slept peacefully in his room without a care. Somehow he can sleep through loud noises, which he is proud of....at least he was until his phone rang. Jaden would normally sleep through it but the ringtone was so loud that it instantly woke him up, making him fall off his bed in a panic.

"Answer your phone, Jay!" Yusei yelled from his room. "I can hear it in my room."

"I'm doing it, I'm doing it!" Jaden exclaimed, scrambling to his feet and getting his phone. He unlocked the device and said, "Hello?"

"Hi Jaden!" Lizzy replied on the other line, laying down on her bed.

"Lizzy?! What time is it?"

"It's midnight! Happy Birthday, buddy." Jaden's eyes widened in surprise. He quickly checked the date on his phone, while on the call with Lizzy, and it was true. It's Jaden's birthday.

"Thanks, Lizzy!" Jaden grinned. "I almost forgot that it's my birthday."

"Dude, how can you forget?" Lizzy said with a raise of her eyebrow. "It's on the living room calendar with a big, red circle around it."

"Wow, you were definitely prepared!"

"Um, it's not in my living room....it's in yours. You're the one that circled the date with a red marker."

"I did? Hang on, let me check." Jaden ran out of his room and went to the living room. He searched all of the walls until he found the calendar. The calendar was pinned on the wall next to one of the kitchen cabinets, which would be easy to see for both Jaden and Yusei because that's where they kept all the breakfast foods. On that calendar, a date was circled in bright red near the end of August. "I found it!" Jaden said on the phone to Lizzy. "You're right, it is in bright red. Maybe I should've done it in black..."

"That's what you were originally going to do," Lizzy explained. "But the marker caps were switched, so you circled it in red instead of black."

"Oh yeah...I remember now!"

"Everything okay?" Yusei asked Jaden, walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah, it's fine," Jaden answered while still looking at the calendar. "Lizzy was just calling to say Happy Birthday to me."

"She beat me to it again?! That's the second time in a row."

"Was that Yusei I heard, Jay?" Lizzy asked with a chuckle, holding one of her plush animals on her bed.

"Yup!"

"Can you put the phone on speaker, buddy?"

"Sure thing!" Jaden pressed the speaker button on his phone and told Lizzy that it was on, turning the phone to his roommate.

"Haha Yusei, I beat you again!" Lizzy laughed through the phone. "You gotta be faster than me."

"I will get you next year!" Yusei promised.

"Oh really? Let's see...you live next to the guy, stay up until the wee hours of the night, usually drive fast on a motorcycle, and STILL wasn't fast enough. What do you say to that, big guy?" Yusei was dead silent. He couldn't counter what the girl said.

"Ooh, she got you good, dude," Jaden pointed out.

That's the end of the first part!! I know that Jaden's Birthday is not today, but the four chapter parts will be in the midst of it. I figured it'd be nice to celebrate a character's birthday. Thanks for reading and look forward to the next chapter part tomorrow. See ya then! :)
