2: Author's Notes

You know those reaction videos on YouTube? You know, the super famous ones where people get paid for sitting there making an occasional, often bland and boring, comment? That's how I feel like some people are with their author's notes.

I seriously don't understand why people feel the need to put their input in on what they're writing while the story is still going on. Putting it at the end once the chapter is over is fine, but putting your two cents in during an important scene is obnoxious and totally throws off the flow of the story.

Example A

"I hate pies," Aomine grumbled. "They're disgusting." (A/N: wtf AHOmine?!!? how can you hate pies!!? they're sooooo yummy!!~ >m<)

Murasakibara glared at the boy (A/N: HAHAHAHA HE SAID BOY) who dared to insult his pastry. "I didn't ask for your opinion."

End of Example A

That was painful for me to write.

Then there's some people who insert themselves into the story and have the characters talk back? That's even worse. I suppose it might work for a crack fic, but I'm still unforgiving.

Example B

"Takao, shut up," Midorima snapped. (A/N: OMGOMGOMG MIDOTAKAO) He gritted his teeth. "I don't love him, nanodayo!"

(A/N: Suuuuure you don't~~~ ;) I know the truth)

"I hate you!"

(A/N: AW YOU LOVE ME)

End of Example B

Stop ruining the flow of your story because more often then not, your comments aren't even funny. Save your author's notes for the end. Sheesh.
