"Ding, Dong!" The doorbell rings. "I'll get it!" I yell, opening the front door. "Rachel! Hi! Come in. What's up?"

"I wanted to ask you, your mother and Jessie a question."

"Oh, okay. Sure. I'll go get them. Jess!" Rachel sits down on the couch and I walk upstairs to Jessie's room. "Jess, Rachel's downstairs. She has a question for you. Where's Mom?"

"The garden. Why?"

"Okay. Go downstairs. I'll go get her."

"Wait, what? Okay." I walk into the backyard. Mom is pulling weeds out of her vegetable garden.

"Hey, Mom. Rachel's here."

"Oh, okay. I'll be there in a bit." I walk back into the living room to see Jessie sitting next to Rachel.

"Mom is just cleaning up. She'll be right here. So, what's up?" I say sitting on a chair.

"Rachel! Hi! I was just in the garden. What brings you here?" Mom says taking off her gardening gloves.

"Well, I was just about to ask. I want you to be my bridesmaids. Elane? Will you be my maid of honor?"

"Rachel," Mom says crying. "I would love to, thank you!"

"I would be honored to. See what I did there. Honored?" Jessie says. I slap her on the leg. "I'm kidding, jeez."

"We would love too. So, have you picked out a date yet?

"Yes. November fourteenth. We also have picked out the colors. White and Cyan."

"Oh, my favorite!" Jess says.

"Do you even know what cyan is?"

"Yeah. It's a blue-green variant."

"Know it all."

"You're the one who asked!"

"Girls!" Mom yells.

"Sorry," we say in unison.

"Jinx."

"Jessica!"

"Sorry."

"Is Sunday a good time to go shopping?"

"Yeah, we're all free."
