Chapter 17 - V Day

Dan turned to Phil, who had kind of lost interest with what was on Dan's phone because honestly, he couldn't care less about other people's personal issues.

"What's that look for?" He asked, referring to the stark white face he was met with when he looked up from his own phone.

"I- I think I just came out to Pete Wentz." Dan told him in a small voice, like a child confessing to something they couldn't believe they actually did.

Phil almost burst out laughing. "Really now? Should I just confiscate your phone then? How did you even do that?" He asked, highly amused.

"It was just a joke... and then he actually confronted me about it." He explained, in such incredible detail that you could almost picture it.

Then Phil actually did start laughing. "Care to tell me the whole story?" He asked, prompting Dan to continue.

He scowled. "Not if you're going to laugh at me! This is serious stuff!" He whined, now actually acting like a small child.

He tried to stifle his laughs. "Alright, alright, I'm not laughing. Tell me?" He pressed, no idea why Dan was getting so defensive all of a sudden.

Dan harrumphed, giving in. "I swear, if you laugh I'm kicking you out, and we can't be friends anymore." He stated.

Well that would be problematic. Phil nodded. "Yes, I understand. Now stop stalling and get on with it." He was starting to grow impatient. Everyone knew Dan was procrastinator supreme, and he supposed it was just second nature by now.

"Fine. So, we were talking about Patrick and stuff-"

"Yeah yeah, I got that bit. What next?"

"Shh, I'm setting the scene. So anyway, he told me to mind my own business and get a girlfriend or whatever, and then I was like-" he stopped, considering something. Then he shoved his unlocked phone into his friends hands. "You know what? Just read the texts. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of them." He grumbled.

Phil rolled his eyes, looking at Dan's home screen. He grinned when he realized it was a selfie the two of them had taken when they had first met. He cleared his throat, partially to snag Dans attention away from his oh-so-interesting fingernails, and also to try and get rid of the blush that was hugging his cheeks. "Hangouts or messages?" He asked, referring to which app Dan used to text Pete.

"What?" He asked, confused as to what he was talking about. "Oh, hangouts." He told him, turning back to his nail-bitten hands.

He nodded, finding the app and opening it. Suddenly, a thought struck him. He closed the app, the selfie crudely hidden behind behind Spotify and Netflix. "Hey Dan?" He asked again, a smirk whittling it's way across his face.

"Hmm?" Dan responded, not even bothering to look up.

"I like your home screen." He stated, causing Dan's head to snap up so fast he was surprised he wasn't complaining about whiplash.

"O-oh, really? I just thought it was a cute picture." He shrugged, trying to be nonchalant but not succeeding very much.

"Yeah," Phil grinned. "I think it's pretty cute too." A wicked idea struck him. "I'm honored that the magnificent Dan finds me cute enough to feature on his home screen." He over dramatized.

Dan cheeks flushed. "Well," two can play at that game. "I just wanted to make sure I was always being watched over by the most amazing Phil." He batted his eyelashes for added effect.

"Oh really?" He raised an eyebrow, shuffling closer to him, their legs touching. "How sweet of you."

Dan leaned in closer, a devilish smirk set across his face and a blush burning his face. "I thought you would appreciate it." He was so close, their foreheads were almost touching.

"Oh yeah?" He stole a quick kiss.

"Yeah."

He kissed him back, soft at first, but getting progressively more passionate. This kiss wasn't like their last one, this time they were prepared, this time it was more than wanted.

Phil reached up and let his fingertips get lost in the softness of his perfectly straightened hair, giving a little tug and eliciting a rather embarrassing sound on Dan's part. He smirked into the kiss, taking a moment to breath. He noticed the fingers that were previously resting on his hips slowly inching their way towards the hem of his shirt.

"Want some help with that?" He asked, his voice low with lust. He quickly took off the garment, reaching for the other boys. He yanked it over his head, leaving them both exposed.

He let his hands explore the new territory, kissing him back more passionately than before. He felt the others tongue glide over his bottom lip, asking for permission to enter, which he granted.

They went at it for a little while, completely lost in each other, not giving the slightest thought to the outside world. They were yanked back to the cruel hands of reality by Phil's mother yelling at them to check that they weren't dead, the worst timing in the history of bad timings. L Only then did they stop and assess the situation. They were breathless, shirtless, and clueless. Thankfully though, neither was regretful.

There was a brief moment of awkwardness, both avoiding eye contact and blushing like mad. Phil, deciding that the silence needed to be broken sometime, and it might as well be by him, muttered a faint, "bum bum bum!" Under his breath. Not much, but enough to restart time.

"What was that?" Dan asked softly, chuckling, not quiet brave enough to break the quietness that had befallen them.

"Oh," Phil blushed. "It's from the song, 'Sweet Caroline.' It's been stuck in my head all day." He explained, starting to laugh.

"I see." Dan started to laugh as well.

"BOYS?!" Once again, they were interrupted.

"Sorry Mum, don't worry, we're not dead!" He yelled back. Silence: broken. They would deal with the aftermath at a later time.

//Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!! Wow, that chapter was cringy >_< But first, I just want to thank everyone so much for 1k reads!!!!! Holy fucking shit!!!!!! That's so crazy to think about, it almost feels absurd!!! This kind of feels like a sort of special chapter, though. It's the celebration of this story reaching a thousand reads, and the first proper make out scene XD which is quite lucky that it happened to fall on Valentine's Day. (even though it's terrible, I tried. It's just going to have to be good enough for now.) Not to mention, this book turns a year old in exactly a week, so expect a chapter for that! I hope everyone had an amazing day, (mine was pretty great, ALL THE CHOCOLATE <3) and you'll hear from me soon! Don't forget to vote and comment! Thanks! Enjoy!//

And remember, live happy <3
