Supernova - The Origin Story
* At the end, something new is born.
* A new world. One like no other.
* Let's call this new world...
* 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆.
———
Eira (Mythtale-Fem!Sans) will be in italics.
Stella (Outerbent-Fem!Sans) will be normal.
Mental communication will be like 'this' or 'this,' depending on who it is.
* I had some reports about some people having difficulty with the unique Unicode dialects spoken by some of my characters, so I added them in parentheses as well. Hopefully there will be no more problems.
———
'I feel strange...'
'Where am I?'
'What was that?'
'Who said that?'
'Who are you? What's going on?'
'I... my name is Stella. I told you who I am, now, who are you?'
'My name is Eira. Do you know where we are, Stella?'
'No. I wish I did, but I don't.'
'This is really strange. I don't like this unending darkness, I probably couldn't even see my wings if they were in front on my nose.'
'Wait, wings?'
'Yeah...?'
'Do you mean like you can FLY?'
'Um, yes?'
'That's so awesome! There aren't a lot of monsters where I live that can fly, although jetpacks are common.'
'Why would you need jetpacks? Don't you live underground too?'
'No...? We live in space, stuck within a barrier on several small asteroid-planets.'
'That's actually super cool. Can you tell me about the stars? I've heard about them from so many of the older monsters, but I've never actually seen them.'
'Stars... I can't do them justice with my description. They're beautiful little sparkles in the sky, twinkling and glowing. I'm sorry that you've never seen them, they're amazing.'
'Wait... is it getting lighter, or it that just me?'
'No-o i-t izz—z-zz...
* With a bright flash of golden light, all coherent thought was gone.
***
'Sis? Nova...? Anyone? Something feels off...'
'Oh! Hey, Stella! I don't know what happened... there was a flash of light, and now we're here, wherever here is. I think we might be dreaming. Do you have any way to wake yourself up during a dream or nightmare?'
"ᴏʜ, ᴅᴇᴀʀɪᴇ. ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇɴ'ᴛ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍɪɴɢ... ᴏʀ ᴀᴛ ʟᴇᴀsᴛ ɪ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ'ᴛ ᴄᴀʟʟ ɪᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ," said a voice with a strange, somewhat monotone accent. "ᴛʜɪs ɪsɴ'ᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍsᴄᴀᴘᴇ, ᴀʟᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜ ɪ'ᴍ sᴜʀᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴀʀʟɪɴɢ ᴛᴡɪɴs ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇᴇᴛ ʏᴏᴜ... ᴛʜɪs ɪs ᴍʏ ᴅᴏᴍᴀɪɴ." (Oh, dearie. You aren't dreaming... or at least I wouldn't call it that. This isn't the Dreamscape, although I'm sure our darling twins would love to meet you... this is my domain.)
An pair of exasperated sighs could be heard following the overly dramatic declaration.
"ʜᴇʏ ᴄʜʀᴏɴɪᴄʟᴇ, ʟɪɢʜᴛs ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ," continued the voice. (Hey Chronicle, lights please.)
"I can't reach the light switch, Order," complained the most normal sounding of the voices they could hear in the darkness irately. "You know that... welp, guess it's time to find a stool."
"ꅏꍟ꒒ꉓꂦꎭꍟ, ꌩꂦꀎꈤꁅ ꀭꀎꀸꁅꍟ," said someone with an exceedingly bizarre accent. (Welcome, young Judge!)
"Judges."
"ꍟꃅ, ꀸꂦꍟꌗꈤ'Ƭ ꎭꍏƬƬꍟꋪ," said Chaos uncaringly. (Eh, doesn't matter.)
"ɪᴛ ᴋɪɴᴅᴀ ᴅᴏᴇs ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇʀ, ʙᴜᴛ ɪ ᴡᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴀʀɢᴜᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʏᴏᴜ." (It kinda does matter, but I won't argue with you.)
"Ƭꃅꍏꈤꀘ ꌩꂦꀎ, ꂦꋪꀸꍟꋪ," said Chaos happily. (Thank you, Order.)
'Who even are you guys? And why is it still dark?!'
"Blame the Multiverse, buddy. It gets real weird," said a third voice they assumed was Chronicle.
'Of course it's the sharding Multiverse theory... what else could it be?!'
"ᴏʜ, ʜᴏᴡ ʀᴜᴅᴇ ᴏғ ᴜs! ᴡᴇ ғᴏʀɢᴏᴛ ᴛᴏ ɪɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴇ ᴏᴜʀsᴇʟᴠᴇs- ɴᴏ, ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀ, ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴɴᴏᴛ ᴘᴜʟʟ ᴀ ʟᴀɴᴄᴇʀ." (Oh, how rude of us! We forgot to introduce ourselves- no, brother, you cannot pull a Lancer."
"ꅏꃅꌩ ꀸꂦ ꌩꂦꀎ ꃅꍏᐯꍟ Ƭꂦ ꋪꀎꀤꈤ ꍏ꒒꒒ ꎭꌩ Ŧꀎꈤ?!" (Why do you have to ruin all my fun?!)
"ʙᴇᴄᴀᴜsᴇ ɪ ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴛ ᴅᴏᴜʙᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡɪʟʟ ɢᴏ ᴀʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ʙᴜʀsᴛɪɴɢ ɪɴ ᴏɴ ᴀ ᴍᴏᴛᴏʀᴄʏᴄʟᴇ, ᴀɴᴅ ɪғ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ, ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ʀᴜɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ғʟᴏᴏʀ." (Because I do not doubt that you will go all the way and come bursting in on a motorcycle, and if you do that, you'll ruin the floor.)
"ꌩꂦꀎ ꉓꍏꈤ Ŧꀤꊼ ꀤƬ ꈤꂦ ᖘꋪꂦß꒒ꍟꎭ Ƭꃅꂦꀎꁅꃅ!" (You can fix it no problem though!)
"ɴᴏ ᴍᴏᴛᴏʀᴄʏᴄʟᴇ." (No motorcycle.)
"ꍏꅏꍟ, ꉓꂦꎭꍟ ꂦꈤ ßꋪꂦ! ꀤƬ'ꌗ ꈤꂦ Ŧꀎꈤ ꅏꀤƬꃅꂦꀎƬ ꍏ ßꀤƬ ꂦŦ ꀸꍟꌗƬꋪꀎꉓƬꀤꂦꈤ!" (Awe, come on bro! It's no fun without a bit of destruction!)
"ɴᴏ, ᴄʜᴀᴏs." (No, Chaos.)
"ꎭꍟꍏꈤꀤꍟ," complained Chaos. (Meanie.)
"ɪғ ɪᴛ ᴋᴇᴇᴘs ᴍʏ ʟɪʙʀᴀʀʏ ғʀᴏᴍ ɢᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ ʀᴜɪɴᴇᴅ, ɪ ᴄᴀɴ ʟɪᴠᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀʟʟɪɴɢ ᴍᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ," said Order. (If it keeps my library from getting ruined, I can live with you calling me that.)
'Who even ARE these guys?'
'Well, apparently the one with the weird accent is called Chaos.'
'Ughhhh can someone please just GET THE STARSDAMNED LIGHTS?!!!!'
"Don't worry girls. Those two are hopeless. I'll get the lights," said Chronicle.
'Thank you, whoever you are.'
"Oh, my name is Chronicle. I've been living here in the Library of Knowledge with those two knuckleheads for a while, or at least it feels like a while. Time works strangely here," said Chronicle.
'Who are they? And can you explain all of this weirdness that's been going on, and why I can't move?!'
'I can't move either.'
"Well, once I get the lights I'll explain to you who they are. But it'll be up to you two to figure out- oh, there's the switch!"
With a flicker and some crackling, a variety of random lights around the room came to life. It was enormous and full of books and bookshelves, even a few scrolls.
"This, my friends, is the Library of Knowledge- a repository of everything that is, was, or could be. Those two dinguses over there are Chaos and Order, who, despite their behavior, are the highly competent and intelligent guardians of the knowledge stockpiled here."
'We can't freaking MOVE you idiot.'
"Oh. I think I can tell why. You aren't truly here. Only your minds are here, but if you concentrate, you should be able to-" CRASH!!!
"Oh, shards," Chronicle sighed irately before beginning to yell at the pair of overly powerful and dramatic beings, "CHAOS, I THOUGHT ORDER EXPLICITLY TOLD YOU TO NOT PULL A LANCER!"
"ɪ ᴅɪᴅ," added Order. (I did.)
"ꀤ ꀭꀎꌗƬ ꀸꀤꀸꈤ'Ƭ ꒒ꀤꌗƬꍟꈤ!!! ꃅꍟꃅ ꃅꍟꃅ ꃅꍟꃅ!" (I just didn't listen!!! Heh heh heh!)
"ꌩꂦꀎ ꁅꀎꌩꌗ ꀸꂦꈤ'Ƭ ꌗꍟꍟꎭ ᐯꍟꋪꌩ ꍟꈤƬꍟꋪƬꍏꀤꈤꍟꀸ... ꍟꃅ, ꅏꃅꂦ ꉓꍏꋪꍟꌗ?! ꀤ'ꎭ ꃅꍏᐯꀤꈤꁅ ꒒ꂦƬꌗ ꂦŦ Ŧꀎꈤ!"(You guys don't seem very entertained... eh, who cares?! I'm having lots of fun!)
'How is he such a ball of fluff and still a guardian of knowledge?!'
"He's much less innocent than he pretends to be, heh."
"ꌗƬꂦᖘ ꋪꀎꀤꈤꀤꈤꁅ ꎭꌩ Ŧꀎꈤ, ꉓꃅꋪꂦꈤꀤꉓ꒒ꍟ!!!"
(Stop ruining my fun, Chronicle!!!)
"Nope. That's my job. It's in the description."
'Is this guy for real?!'
'I'm pretty sure he is... I doubt my mind could conjure anything THIS weird.'
'I need more sleep.'
'Honestly, same.'
"Welp. Better make this quick. GUYS, THEY'LL BE LEAVING SOON SO GET YOUR LAZY BUTTS OVER HERE TO EXPLAIN WHAT'S HAPPENED!!!"
"ᴇʜ. ɪ ғᴇᴇʟ ʟɪᴋᴇ ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ᴘʀᴏʙᴀʙʟʏ ᴅᴏ ᴀ ʙᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴊᴏʙ ᴛʜᴀɴ ᴜs. ᴘʟᴜs, ᴛʜᴇʏ'ʟʟ ʙᴇ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ɴᴇxᴛ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴛɪᴍᴇʟɪɴᴇ ʀᴇsᴇᴛs." (Eh. I feel like you'll probably do a better job than us. Plus, they'll be back next time their timeline resets.)
"FINE!" Chronicle yelled angrily.
"Girls, your worlds fused. Everything is going to be really weird. You, the flower, and maybe one or two others will have some pieces of the memories of your original universe. You'll need to find and explain everything to the flower, it remembers resets and we can't bring it here as it's soulless. You should have a few days, maybe a week until the kid arrives. You'll probably gain some memories of your "past" in the new universe over time, tho-_gh. Go_d-l—k._...__."
And it all went dark once more...
'Huh...? Was that all a dream? I'm on my bed... but... this doesn't completely seem like my room.'
'What is going on? Why... why can't I move?'
'Odd. I can move fi-'
'-wait. I think I know what's going oN HERE. I'M STUCK IN YOUR SHARDING HEAD.'
Random ice shards began to fly around the room, creating a mini-blizzard.
'Eira! Calm down! You're wrecking the place!'
'I CAN'T.'
'It's okay... we can go outside. But for now, try to chill. Just... think of a sta- a crystal and imagine pulling your magic, yourself, inside. That's what I learned when I was little and couldn't control my magic. If you can get it back under your control, then we can go outside. For now, though, I don't want to scare our sibling? I dunno... this is really confusing.'
'AT LEAST YOU STILL HAVE SOME CONTROL! I SPENT YEARS TRAINING TO GET MY MAGIC UNDER CONTROL, ANd... whatever happened shattered all my walls... I don't even know what's going on anymore...'
'Well, let's just go outside. We'll figure out what to do after we find the others who can remember... that flower, and the kid.'
'You're... you're right. We aren't the only ones who are probably freaking out right now. That flower is probably gonna make a mess if we don't find it, and fast. We should visit the royal scientist too, and take a look at the space-time graphs.'
'Good idea. But before we do any of this, we need to check on our sibling.'
'Yeah.'
The short skeleton left their room, curious to see what other things about the place had changed. As soon as they opened the door, they could smell something burning.
'Is... is that something burning that I smell?'
'Do ya think our sibling is attempting to cook something?'
'Now that you mention it, that seems like the most likely cause.'
'We should... probably go monitor this, my sister trained with the head of the royal guard and her cooking... tends to burn down houses.'
'My sister's the same way. So that's probably a good idea.'
"Hey. How's the cooking going?"
"Good! I'm making cookies," yelled the tall skeleton happily.
'Well this'll be interesting...'
'Yup. Hopefully she won't burn the house down.'
"Sis, imma gonna go check for humans real quick. I should be back in a few hours, maybe a bit more?"
"Oh my gosh! Sister, you are actually doing your job! I'm so proud!"
"Eh, don't count on it."
They stepped outside. Eira noticed the snow and immediately relaxed.
'You like the snow, eh?'
'Yes, although it also has to do with my magic and my own health. I'm basically immune to cold, but if it's too hot, it can cause me physical pain.'
'I think it might be a good idea to go visit the royal scientist. The cameras might help us find the flower, and if we do that then we'll at least be able to shortcut to a few more places.'
'Welp, time to go find the river person. They should be here...'

* Thanks for handling that situation, boys. I was a bit busy managing the fusing of my pet world with the others that got knocked out of alignment, but they're stable now, and until Fate's pawn starts creating again, the Multiverse is as well.
"ɢᴏᴏᴅ. ɪ ᴡɪsʜ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇsᴛ ᴏғ ʟᴜᴄᴋ- ɪғ ғᴀᴛᴇ ғɪɴᴅs ᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴏғ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴘᴇᴛ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴇᴅ, sʜᴇ'ᴅ ʙᴇ ᴀʙsᴏʟᴜᴛᴇʟʏ ᴘɪssᴇᴅ." (Good. I wish them the best of luck- if Fate finds out that part of your pet world survived, she'd be absolutely pissed.)
"ꌩꍟꍏꃅ, ꀤ ꃅꍏƬꍟ ꀤƬ ꅏꃅꍟꈤ ꌗꃅꍟ ꁅꍟƬꌗ ꒒ꀤꀘꍟ ƬꃅꍏƬ." (Yeah, I hate it when she gets like that.)
"Well, I hope that everything continues to go well, Lady Destiny."
