"Kathy, are you finished yet?", Paul whined outside their shared room. He was starving and frustrated, yet Kathy had to take too long again changing.
"Give me a sec, McCartney! Geez! That's the third time already!", she spoke from inside. Paul rolled his eyes.
"Women.", he muttered.
"I heard that."
Paul stiffled a laugh. He didn't understand why he liked annoying her. It was just always the way they were.
"Okay, I'm done.", Kathy uttered, stepping out of the room. She wore a simple turquoise dress with matching heels and brought the silver handbag her mother gave to her on the night of her prom. Her hair was styled in a cute updo. She had little makeup on, which she didn't know Paul likes.
Paul's breath hitched in his throat. He couldn't speak, which was unusual for him, since he rarely gets in a state of awe with women he encounters. To his eyes, her outfit was eye-catching, yet simple.
Kathy, on the other hand, admired how well Paul could wear a simple black and white suit. It was a common fancy outfit, yet in her eyes, Paul made it seem like a fashion trend. His hair was in a cute moptop, something he always does when at home.
Paul decided to just tease her a little bit. "This outfit took how many hours?", he smirked. Kathy rolled her eyes.
"You can just say it's ugly, if you want. I just wanna eat.", she remarked.
She was about to go downstairs when Paul grabbed her by the arm and spun her around.
"You look, um, pretty- I mean beautiful- I mean-", he stammered. He suddenly lost all confidence just gazing at her.
Kathy laughed and patted him on the cheek. "You could just say I look nice, Paul."
"Well then, you look, um, nice, Kathy.", he commented, holding her hand to guide her as they descend the stairs.
"Remind me again why we had to dress all fancy?", she asked. Paul just smiled.
"You'll see."

"Where are we going, Paul?" It was Kathy's turn to whine. They've only been driving for 10 minutes but heck, she was famished. Paul rolled his eyes at her impatience.
"Hush, woman. I'm trying to look for the place."
Eventually, they reached the restaurant. As it came into view, Kathy didn't regret having dressed up.
"Wow.", she muttered. The boy heard this, and his ego grew big again at the thought of treating her to this four-star restaurant.
He got out of the car first, quickly making his way to the other side to open the door for his fianceé.
"Why, thank you, kind sir.", she said, holding his hand which he reached out for her.
He smiled as they made their way to the fancy-looking man at the podium.
"Ah, good evening, sir and madam. A table for two, eh? Right this way.", he spoke ever so quickly that all the couple could do was look at each other and chuckle.
As they entered the restaurant, Kathy's mouth dropped open. It was more beautiful on the inside than outside. The walls were painted beige, and there were light garlands on every corner. A huge chandelier can be seen at the center of the room. The whole area gave off a fancy vibe.
As the girl was admiring the area, she fell out of balance because of the heels she was wearing. She wasn't used to such shoes, and only used them for special occasions.
It was a good thing Paul was looking at her the whole time and was able to put those quick reflexes to use. He caught her just before she hit the waiter approaching them.
"Oh my goodness!", she mused, eyes wide. Paul tried to stiffle a laugh and stood her right back up.
"You should've wore flats so I don't have to catch you. Unless, you fell on purpose. ", he whispered and winked at her as they walked. Kathy cocked an eyebrow at him and punched him on the shoulder, earning a laugh from the doe-eyed boy.
"Did not, d**khead.", she muttered.
"Language, my darling.", he winked again. The girl simply rolled her eyes at him.
"We're here. Just call on me when you would like to order, okay? Ciao!", the overjoyed waiter told them as he handed them menus.
Paul, being the gentleman he is, pulled one chair away to let her sit. Kathy was hesitant, though.
"If you're gonna give me a repeat on what you did when we were kids, save it.", she told him.
Paul laughed, remembering how much he loved pranking her back in the day. "C'mon now. I promise I won't prank you. "
She eyed him for a moment, then finally sat down. Paul adjusted the chair for her.
"See? No harm done.", he said, raising his hands. Kathy just rolled her eyes, but Paul caught sight of her small smile.
"Now, what to order.", they both said in unison, which made them meet gazes and laugh again.
