=>Another Girl<=

5 days before the big day...

Paul and Kathy were assigned with handling the invitations for the guests, principal sponsors, color scheme, giveaways, their wedding cake and of course, their wedding rings.

"Can we handle all that in one day?", Paul whined, and Mary rolled her eyes at her son.

"I know this stuff is a lot, but Gina, Samuel and I will be taking care of other major things, such as the flow of the program for your reception, the decorations for both the church and the reception venue, the photographer for your pre-nup shoot, and the videographer for your wedding day.", she replied, and Paul just groaned.

"Man, getting married is hard work.", he muttered, and Kathy giggled.

"Don't you worry. I'll have someone help you with all the planning. She's a very good friend of Samuel, and she'll meet you both at the reception venue.", she added, and the pair looked at each other, wondering who it was.

"Now, now. Time's ticking. Best be going on your way now. Take care you two.", Mary added, and pushed them out the door. Ever since Mary got out of the hospital, they've done nothing but plan the wedding at her and Samuel's home.

As the pair walked, Paul scanned the list his mother gave him one more time.

"Gosh, this is a lot!", Paul whined again.

"Well it's your fault for proposing to me.", Kathy replied with a smirk.

"Yeah, and I wish I could take it back.", he replied, pretending to be serious. Kathy turned to face him and gave him a glare, followed by a punch on the shoulder.

"Oh, really? Fine!", Kathy spoke, also acting to be mad, and stormed off. She knew Paul was kidding, though.

Paul smiled to himself and ran after her, and when he caught up, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, but she shook it off.

"Oh, come off it. It was only a joke.", he cooed, looking at her. But Kathy looked straight ahead.

'Time to play with him a bit.', she thought to herself.

"I'm not speaking to you.", she responded, earninf a scoff from Paul.

"You're speaking to me right now, woman.", he sassed, and Kathy just rolled her eyes at him.

They finally reached the venue and found everyone busy with preparations. Wow, Paul's mum sure knew the people for the job.

"Um, excuse me? I'm Kathy and this is Paul.", she introduced both of them to a busy crew member, squinting her hazel orbs at her fiancé as she mentioned his name. Paul squinted his eyes back at her.

"Mary Adams told me that we should be meeting someone here, someone who would help us with the planning.", Kathy asked one of the crew members.

"Oh, right! For the wedding, eh? Here, follow me. They're waiting for you both.", she replied, to Kathy's confusion. Paul had the same expression on his face.

"They're?"

Paul followed them and scanned his surroundings. The place was simple, yet elegant. Just the way he liked it. With a few more touches though, he was sure this venue would look perfect.

"Um, Mrs. Jones? Kathy and Paul are here to see you.", the crew member said to two ladies who had their backs on them. One was a brunette, while one was a redhead.

They both finally faced them, and Kathy had to control herself from cursing right there and then.

Of course, those red locks of hair were familiar.

"Jane?", Paul asked, confused. Jane gave him a heartwarming smile in return, but Kathy wasn't impressed at her actions.

"Hi, Paul.", she greeted. When her eyes landed on Kathy, they lost the spark that was once there, but the smile was still there.

"And Kathy.", she spoke, and Kathy tried to give her the best fake smile she could offer.

"Good morning, lovebirds! My name is Nerissa Jones, and this is Jane Asher, my niece. I know your stepdad quite well, Paul.", the older lady greeted, approaching the two and shaking their hands with a smile.

"Oh, I'm Kathy. Kathy James.", she introduced herself.

"Paul. Paul McCartney.", the lad beside her then spoke, and Nerissa smiled.

"I see you've got a checklist there. Well, that's why I'm here. To make sure that you'll be able to complete all that's in there.", Nerissa stated, and the couple nodded.

"And I'm here to assist Aunt Nerissa with whatever she needs done.", Jane added, and in Kathy's mind, she was rolling her eyes.

"No one asked you.", she muttered under her breath.

"Pardon?", Jane asked, and Kathy smiled.

"Oh, nothing.", she lied, and Jane just nodded slowly, still eyeing her.

"Great! Let's get started!", Nerissa exclaimed, and she led them to a table for them to settle the principal sponsors.

"I'd like John Winston Lennon to be my best man.", Paul spoke proudly, and Jane wrote it down instantly.

"And you, my dear? Who would be your maid-of-honor?", Nerissa asked. Kathy's eyes widened.

"Might I add, it would be better if the maid-of-honor of your choice was a bachelorette."

"Oh, um...", she trailed off. Who was she gonna pick? Her best friend had already migrated overseas, and they barely spoke to each other ever since they got into an argument. Many of her female cousins were already married. She had no sisters, too.

And she was sure that the redhead sitting infront of her wasn't going to be a part of her big day.

Then she remembered Cynthia, her co-worker at the Cavern Club. She wasn't her best friend, but she was the closest to that title, for they always hang out during break times, and chat about stuff.

"Um, Cynthia. Cynthia Lillian Powell.", she answered after minutes of thought, and Jane jotted the name down.

"Now, let's head onto our godfathers and godmothers, shall we?", Nerissa said, and the couple nodded.

After they had gone through all of the guests they would invite, Nerissa got out a book from her bag. It was labeled, 'Wedding'.

"Now, it's time to discuss the color scheme for your wedding. I have here with me different harmonies of colors to choose from. Feel frew to browse!", she added, and Kathy opened the ring-bound book.

They were so many shades of colors, that it was almost impossible for the engaged couple to choose. Each combination of colors looked beautiful.

Then, as the pair scanned the last page of the colors section, the light-blue and white combination caught Kathy's attention. She didn't know why, but she it was elegant to her eyes, yet so simple at the same time.

"I like this one.", she pointed, and Paul followed her finger. He thought about it for a while.

"Oh, that? That's our simplest combination, actually. It's rarely picked because of how mediocre it looks.", Jane butted in, and Kathy mentally rolled her eyes at her comment.

"I would recommend the pink and gold combination. It's very pleasing to the eyes.", she added, with a hint of pride in her voice.

"Well, how about you, Paul? What do you say?", Nerissa asked him, and all ladies had their eyes on him, awaiting his reply.

"Well...", he trailed off. Kathy was getting anxious.

"I think I'll go with my fianceé's idea. Plus blue's actually my favorite color.", he finally stated, and Kathy couldn't help but smirk at Jane in front of her.

"Yes!", she exclaimed, to the amusement of both Paul and Nerissa.

"Okay, your choice.", Jane responded, looking disappointed.

After hours, they were able to tackle the giveaways for the guests. They settled on adorable little figurines of a bride and a groom embracing each other, amd engraved on the bottom were Kathy & Paul, September 5, 2018.

The cake was next, and the pair gazed at the pictures of scrumptious cakes in the book.

"I like..."

"This one!", they said simultaneously, both had their imdex fingers on the same picture of the wedding cake. They smiled at each other.

"Then that it is!", Nerissa said, placing a bookmark on the page.

"Last item: wedding rings.", Paul spoke, checking off the wedding cake from the list.

"Ah, yes. The most important of all. Jane, dear, please hand me the other book. It's in the table over there.", Nerissa requested, and Jane nodded. The table she was referring to was a few tables away from Kathy's position.

As she grabbed the book, she carried it towards their table. An idea crossed her mind, and as she stood a few inches away from Paul's fianceé, she 'accidentally' dropped the thick book on Kathy right foot.

"Ow! What the f**k!", she yelled, her eyes piercing Jane's own. Jane didn't look fazed, but acted concerned about her foot.

"Oh, dear. The book was so heavy,Kathy, I-"

"Yeah, wow. You managed to carry it without dropping it back there but when you reach me, it magically gains weight.", she said sarcastically, not breaking off eye contact with the woman.

Paul stood from his seat and knelt down, removing Kathy's shoe and massaged her foot with his hand.

"Is it still painful?", Paul asked, as Jane sat back down, Nerissa scolding her niece for her actions.

"No, not anymore.", Kathy flirted, and Paul smirked. He put her shoe back and sat down next to her.

"Jane, please be more careful around my fianceé.", Paul said sternly, emphazing the last word. Jane bowed her head down, and Kathy gazed at him lovingly.

It secretly turned her on.

"Let's get over with this so that me and Kathy can get some lunch.", Paul spoke again, and Nerissa nodded. Jane had her eyes on Paul, but the latter did his best to ignore her.

They finally were able to choose the perfect rings for them to wear. Paul crossed it off the checklist. They both stood up, and Nerissa and Jane did the same.

"Thank you for your help, Mrs. Jones! You made this fun for us.", Kathy said, and Nerissa smiled at her words.

"You're very welcome, my dear. Jane? Do you have something to say?", she replied to Kathy, turning to her niece for any comment.

"I'm sorry for accidentally dropping the book on you.", Jane responded with a blank face. No sincerity was present in her tone.

"Yea, okay. Bye, now!", Paul butted in, taking Kathy's hand and dragging her away from the venue.

They hailed a cab and Paul asked the driver to take them to the nearest restaurant.

"Hey, thanks.", Kathy said, holding his hand. Paul looked confused.

"For what?", he asked. She smiled.

"For making me feel special back there.", she replied, and Paul kissed her head.

"Of course, love. Plus, she was already annoying me. It's like she's following me around.", he responded.

"It turned me on, y'know.", she muttered, but Paul heard.

"What did?"

"You being mad like that.", she said, looking at the opposite direction to avoid his stare.

"Oh, really? Well, then. Thanks for the tip.", he said, winking and kissing her.

"Ah, Paul! Not here!", she said, laughing, making Paul laugh along and continue his actions. The driver just rolled his eyes.

"I hate PDA.", he muttered under his breath.
