[ Chapter - Five ]
This is the longest chapter I've ever written, hope it doesn't bore you.
Enjoy reading! :)

The consistent fire between two souls was ignited as their lips coordinated in the most fluent sync. Her thoughts were blur as she could only concentrate on the thumping of their hearts against each other, while his thoughts were consumed by how beautiful this feelng was.
The two of them parted to catch their breaths, their foreheads touching and their nose brushing against each other. Viaan pulled back a bit to look at Aairah's face and the sight only made him want to wrap his arms around her and never let her go anywhere away from him. His eyes couldn't believe in the beauty in front him, she looked like an angel to him with swollen lips and pink tinted cheeks, and most of all her eyes were filled with love, love only and only for him.
Viaan pressed a soft kiss on her lips before shifting himself on the bed and laying down beside her. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her to his chest while Aairah's fingers found his hair, fumbling with it in a soothing manner.
"I didn't realise how beautiful you really are until now." Viaan spoke, his voice low and husky, a small smile playing on his lips.
Aairah blushed at his compliment but smirked nonetheless while saying, "I didn't realise my best friend was such a bad kisser until now."
Viaan's face dropped for a second which made a giggle erupt from Aairah. He cleared his throat before moaning, "Viaan!" in the most girly manner. He chuckled before turning to Aairah, "Yeah, getting you to moan like that proves exactly how bad of a kisser I am." He smirked.
Aairah swatted his chest before covering her face with her hands, she heard his laughter and tried to avoid the flutter of her stomach at such a beautiful sound. She felt Viaan's fingers on her hands before he forced her to remove it from her face.
"No need to be embarrassed baby." He kissed her forehead and Aairah smiled at him. She was quiet but her thoughts were scattered, she was still trying to comprehend what had just happened but she was dancing from inside that she had finally felt the lips of the person she loved with all her heart, on hers. Viaan, on the other hand, was busy admiring the sight in front of him. He had never felt so happy in his life as he did now, he could tell from the look on Aairah's face that she was lost in thought so he took it upon himself to kill the silence, "So?"
Aairah's eyes met his and she cocked an eyebrow, "So what?"
"Where do we go from here?" He asked cautiously.
"To sleep!" Aairah responded, faking a yawn and turning on the other side of the bed
Viaan glared at her back before calling out her name in a stern voice, "Aairah!"
Aairah turned her neck just enough to look at his face, "Yes, Viaan?"
He sighed as he ran his hands through his hair, "We really need to discuss what just happened."
"Nothing happened, we kissed, that's all." She responded in a robotic tone before turning again.
Viaan's jaw hung open at her words, "Stop messing around, seriously! What the fuck is wrong with you? We cannot be like 'Best Friends' again after that kiss." Viaan was trying to keep his demeanour cool but Aairah's not-so-caring attitude wasn't helping him at the moment.
Aairah turned to face him, she cupped his cheeks and stared into his, trying to hide the hint of smirk, "What is your idea of Best Friends with Benefits?" She winked at him.
Viaan grabbed ahold of her hips, pulling her to him as he crashed his lips on hers. Aairah was quick to respond and this time she was eager to deepen the kiss so she traced her tongue on his lower lip, which was the most exciting feeling that Viaan had ever experienced. He quickly obliged to her request and as their tongues met, the passionate feeling between them was ignited further.
Viaan's hand moved to Aairah's waist where her skin was exposed and he traced circles on her lower back, sending shivers down her spine. Aairah was too consumed in the kiss when she felt a bulge on her stomach and she was well aware of what it was.
"Viaan." She tried to speak but it came out as a moan, which only made him rub his hard self against her.
She knew she had to stop now before things accelerate further so she slowly pulled away, trying to catch her breath. Viaan had a smirk plastered on his face as he spoke, "It doesn't really seem like a bad idea, you know."
"What?" Aairah was confused for seconds before it hit her what Viaan was mentioning to, "Yeah, considering that boner of yours, it really doesn't seem like a bad idea." She said with a smug look on her face.
"Shut up! Don't provoke me to take this any further." Viaan growled, trying to control the blood rushing to the specific part of his body.
Aairah giggled before nodding, "Yeah, okay!"
"I'll be right back." Viaan spoke before rushing off to the bathroom.
"Oh god, Viaan! You cannot be serious." Aairah face palmed herself as she tried to control her laughter.
"What? You want me to lay beside you with a hard dick and pretend that I don't want to fuck you?" He whisper yelled at her, well aware of his mother sleeping across the hall.
Aairah's face turned into a crimson colour within seconds, she hadn't expected him to say such things just after an hour of their first kiss but she knew Viaan and his dirty mouth when it came to such stuff. Being of opposite genders might prove like a disadvantage when it came to dirty talks in many friendships but with Viaan and Aairah, two of them had discussed every sexual aspect of human body.
She sighed in relief when she heard the bathroom door shut, she needed few minutes to herself. All of this had took place in such a haste that she didn't get a single minute to herself to try to comprehend her thoughts.
The way they had kissed, it held much more emotions and value for her than one could imagine, it might not have been her first kiss but if she was to die tomorrow, she wanted it to be her last memory. She loved him more than she let herself to believe, she felt alive only in his presence and she knew the way he could make her smile, no other person could beat that. But, the question forming in her mind was, what exactly did Viaan feel for her? He still hadn't confess his admiration towards her but she knew he wouldn't have just kissed her like that, staking their friendship at cost.
Viaan was smiling as he looked at his reflection in the mirror, his grin was wide enough to reach his eyes and his dimples to dig in the deepest. He was already missing her even though she was just few steps away from her. He had never felt these kind of emotions, he had never felt this kind of pull towards someone but he was sure infatuation wasn't enough to describe his feelings towards Aairah, his best friend.
The thought of losing her terrified him so he rushed out of the bathroom to her, "Aairah, you know that we cannot be friends anymore, right?" He ran a hand through his hair, exasperated at the loss of words.
Aairah who was smiling to herself a moment ago was now trying to fight his words in her mind. She knew this was too good to be true, she knew there was no way in hell Viaan could like her back, but despite the odds she tried to find her voice as she questioned him, "Why?"
Viaan was pacing back and forth in the room, "No, we can't! We can't be friends after what just happened, after that kiss! We can't." He responded.
Her tears which were held in for long enough started rolling down her cheeks as she saw the friendship she had tried to save from years crumbling down right in front of her eyes. She couldn't just lose it like that, so she tried, "Viaan, can't we just forget that ever happened?" Despite how much she tried, her voice cracked at the end.
He stopped his movements as he looked at Aairah's face, the room was dimly lit, a small lamp light was on which was enough to give him the reflection of her tears. In seconds he was kneeling down beside her, he took her face in his hands and wiped away the tears but to no use as more droplets fell down. "How can you even say that if I can forget that kiss Airah?" He asked, his voice too low and calm, as if talking to a two year old.
Aairah tried to hold in a sob, "But I can't afford to lose you Viaan, not because of my feelings and that stupid kiss." She cried.
Viaan gave her a small smile, "Who said you're losing me? And do not call the best kiss of my life a stupid kiss." He faked a scolding tone, trying to lighten her up.
Aairah's eyes met his, "What do you mean?"
Viaan closed his eyes for a second before opening them and looking right into the dark brown orbs that he had found to love so much, "You're not losing me, you fucking idiot! When I said we cannot be friends anymore, what I meant was that I can't just be friends with you after I shared the best kiss of my life with you stupid. So, Aairah Sharma, will you please do the honour of being my girlfriend because I cannot seem to stop thinking about how beautiful you really are, and how incomplete my life will be without you because you're like that joker in my life and without you there's no entertainment."
Aairah's tears hadn't stopped falling but her eyes were wide in shock as she took in Viaan's words. "Ar- are you serious?" She asked, still gaping at him.
He leaned down and placed a swift kiss on her lips, "Yes baby, I am!" He beamed at her.
She sobbed the happy tears before bending down and wrapping her arms around him. This was the moment she had always daydreamed about and now that it was coming true, she couldn't believe it was real. She always thought her feelings were going to die as a secret with her corpse but here she was, crying and hugging the love of her life.
"I love you so so much Viaan!" She exclaimed, her tears still running down - the only difference being these were the tears of joy.
Viaan's hands which were holding Aairah from her waist stiffened as he registered her words in his mind.
I love you so so much Viaan
He had this idea in mind that Aairah liked him, or in fact loved him but he had never expected her to blurt it out like this, but he was greedy when it came to her. But the word love confused him. He didn't know what it was, or what value it held.
Was it love when a smile appeared on his face just by the thought of Aairah's clumsiness, or was it love when her laugh could make his gloomy day bright? He wasn't acknowledged with the feeling of love, but his heart knew that he had loved Aairah all along, since the day he had seen her in two pigtails, running in garden after a ball. Soon after Aairah appeared in his life, his father passed away but even in the pre teenage years, Aairah was there to be his rock of support.
This strongs feelings he held for this girl, meant much more to him than he had ever realised. He loved her, he just hadn't realised it until Aadil had tried to take away what was his.
He still wasn't sure of his feelings, and not wanting to give Aairah any false promises he settled on telling her the feelings he knew were true, "I like you Aairah, I like you so so much!" He breathed in her hair.
Aairah was beyond happy to hear those words, she hadn't expected him to say 'I love you' back to her, it would've disappointed her had he said it just like that, without being sure of his feelings.
Viaan stood up from his kneeling position and sat in front of her, cupping her cheeks and looking directly into her eyes, "So, will you be mine?" He asked.
Aairah was about to say yes before she realised something, "Wait - what the fuck, did you just call me a joker?" She asked, her lips parted.
Viaan chuckled, "Yeah, of course. You're my personal joker, but now I want you to be more."
"Promotion requires increase in salary." Aairah smirked.
Viaan smiled at her childishness before trying to look deep in thought, "How about three kisses and five hug per day?" Viaan looked at her, expectantly.
Aairah scowled at him, "Make the kisses five and hugs ten and the deal is done." She extended her hand to shake.
Viaan grinned in response before shaking her hand, "Deal."
"Deal." She agreed.
"So, you're officially and publicly my girlfriend?" Viaan cocked an eyebrow.
"Yup! Now, if we're done with this business deal, I really need sleep. I am going to have a hangover tomorrow and I ain't ready for it." She whined.
Viaan chuckled before getting up from the bed and ruffling her hair, he poured her another glass of water and instructed her to drink it. She didn't argue back, she quietly gulped it and then layed down on the bed.
"Scoot over." Viaan instructed and Aairah shot him a look, "What? I thought girls liked cuddling."
"Yeah, I love cuddling but you're sleeping on the couch." She said, her voice heavy with sleep.
"Nope, I am not. Now scoot over before I force you to." He said with finality in his voice and Aairah groaned before doing so.
He switched off the lamp and wrapped his arms around her stomach, her back was to his chest. Just after two minutes, Aairah's heavy breathing was audible to him and he knew she was asleep.
Viaan himself was tired with all the drama that took place today, but despite how happy he was in that moment, a certain thing was troubling him. He might have found his happiness in the form of Aairah being his, but he almost lost a best friend.
He knew it wasn't right to kiss Aairah just after such a short amount of her break up with Aadil, but his feelings empowered his logical side of the brain. He didn't hold regrets, he just didn't want to lose Aadil from his life despite whatever issues he had with Aairah.
Before sighing deeply, he strengthened his hold on Aairah before nuzzling in her neck and falling asleep.
Both Aairah and Viaan woke up near noon the other day, Aairah had fallen sick in the middle of the night because of her overdrinking. She woke up sweating and wanting to puke, so she rushed off to the bathroom to throw up. Viaan was awake with her till five in the morning making sure she was feeling alright, getting her to drink a lot of water. This wasn't the first time he was dealing with drunk Aairah, he had a lot of experience now.
The moment Viaan's eyes snapped open in the morning, it took him a minute to realise that the heavy weight resting on his shoulder was Aairah's face. A smile took over his face as he took in Aairah's features - her lips were slightly parted and her hair were all over her face.
Even though she looked like a mess, Viaan couldn't help but find her extremely adorable in her sleeping state. She looked at peace, which was a rare sight to get since she was always busy trying to cover up her emotions, not letting anyone see through. This Aairah, in front of him, without make up looked like the most carefree to him - she wasn't fretting over flunking in class, neither was she trying to hide the pain that she felt because of her family problems.
It had been fifteen minutes already and Aairah was still deep in sleep, so Viaan slowly pulled himself from her embrace and freshened himself till the time she was sleeping.
Viaan came out of the bathroom after taking a shower and found Aairah awake, but she looked deep in thought as she stared at the ceiling.
"How are you feeling now?" He questioned her.
She didn't look at him while replying, "Fine, just a little headache."
"What's wrong?" Viaan asked, trying not to make Aairah uncomfortable in his lack of clothing.
Aairah's eyes drifted to him and she took her time to check his body out, Viaan was in the sports team and that did miracle to his body. His toned muscles were on show and the towel was hung low on his waist, giving Aairah the most mesmerising sight of his V line. She looked up to meet his eyes and found him smirking at her.
She tried to hide in her blush as she cleared her throat, "Nothing." She replied.
"Okayy," Viaan drawled as he took his clothes from his wardrobe, "I am not going to ask you not to peek, but just so you know I am going to change here so if you don't want to start your day with a great sight, the loss is yours and you can close your eyes." Viaan said with a smug look on his face.
Aairah gave out a shy smile before covering her face with the blanket. She had just received a text from her mother, which had made her thoughts to go on a marathon, "Viaan, do you realise that the dinner is today?" She asked, still trying not to peek in.
"Yeah, I do," he said and then added after a pause, "I am done, you can look at your sexy boyfriend now."
Aairah tried to keep in the grin that was about to break out on her face when Viaan acknowledged himself as her boyfriend. This feeling wasn't the one she had experienced with Aadil, it was more, much more and even the words weren't enough to describe them.
"What am I going to tell mom?" She asked nervously.
"Tell her you dumped your ex and now you are with me." He said too casually.
"Thanks for making me feel slutty enough!" Aairah scoffed, running a hand through her hair.
Viaan took in a deep breath before making his way to her on the bed, " Aairah, why do you keep using such words? I do not mean to insult you or make you feel low about what has happened, alright? I know you are hurt about whatever happened with Aadil and it will be a lot to explain to your mother, but you and I are both aware that you're not going to lie to her." He said, taking her hands in his and interlacing their fingers.
Aairah looked in his eyes before sighing, she knew Viaan wasn't really a guy to be understanding when it came to relationship stuff but he was trying to cooperate just because they'd known each other from years, "You're right. Can you please just drop me back home so that I have enough time to explain things to my mother?" She asked him.
Viaan nodded, "You can keep the clothes for now, I wouldn't appreciate you wearing that short dress again in the morning, that too when you look like a ghost." Viaan teased her and she smiled. He got up from the bed to make his room a bit cleaner before leaving but then turned towards her again, "Oh by the way, just put a bra on."
Aairah's jaw dropped as she gaped at him, "You cannot just talk to me like that." She squeaked and threw a pillow at him.
Viaan chuckled and dodged the pillow to the side, still laughing. "I do appreciate such a sight but I wouldn't want other guys looking at you like that." He said, picking up his dirty clothes from the floor.
"I get it!" She held her hands up in the air, as if asking him not to say another word, "That dress was padded you know, I don't really have one."
Viaan shot her a look before opening his wardrobe and throwing a jacket at her, "Wear it!" He instructed.
Aairah herself wasn't comfortable in roaming around without a bra on so she obliged and soon they left for her house.
Viaan dropped her off and promised to arrive at dinner on time, Aairah didn't call it off because she needed a distraction from all the mess going on in her life. After taking a shower Aairah had her breakfast and then spent most of the afternoon with her mother, explaining her everything.
Her mother was a bit disappointed because Aairah had quickly stumbled into another relationship but she didn't bother herself much with it, she knew her daughter was strong and mature enough to take careful decisions.
The day passed quickly and before Aairah could even get dressed properly, the door bell rang. She went to open the door and Ruhi and Viaan awaited her.
Ruhi embraced her into a big bear hug and Aairah giggled while returning it. Viaan smirked when he took in Aairah's appearance, she was wearing make up but her hair were thrown in a bun and she was wearing sweatpants along with a sweatshirt.
"Hey baby." Viaan whispered in her ear when she hugged him and she tried to ignore the spark igniting through her skin from his touch.
"Hi." She said in a timid voice.
Ruhi was carefully looking at two of them and she couldn't help but be happy for her best friend, Viaan had already informed her on the way about whatever had happened the last night and Ruhi knew Aairah deserved this, she had waited for these days from past one and a half year.
People say relationships are difficult, but the real trouble is when each day you're pretending not to be in love with someone when all you want is to hold that person in your arms and never let them go. Aairah had kept her secret long enough, now she deserved the sweet fruit of it.
Aairah told two of them to make themselves home before disappearing in her room to get ready. She pulled on her black skinny jeans along with a yellow tank top. She loosened her bun and her hair fell straightly past her shoulders.
She smiled at her reflection once before making it to the living room.
To her surprise, her father was sitting on the other couch, across from Viaan and Ruhi's.
"Hey Dad!" She exclaimed before hugging her father.
"Hey sweetheart, how're you?" He asked, smiling broadly.
"I am good! Why are you not at work?" She asked out of curiosity.
"Because we have a special dinner at our house tonight?" His father smirked at her playfully.
"What? You're staying for the dinner?" Aairah asked, excitement lingering in her voice.
"Yeah, I can at least do this much for you." He gave out a warm smile to her daughter who just looked taken aback but hugged her father tightly.
"Thanks, dad." She said and her father nodded.
After half an hour of chit chat in the living room, Aairah's mother called out for dinner and everyone made their way to the dining table.
Aairah helped her mother serve it and with a small talk, everyone ate the delicious food prepared by Aairah's mother. It had just been ten minutes when they heard the door bell and Aairah was confused who would be there so late in the evening.
"I'll go get it." Aairah shot up from her seat and before anyone could protest she was out of the room and towards the door.
She unlocked the door and heard her own gasp at the sight of the person she had least expected to be here - Aadil.
"Hey." He gave her a small smile, and offered her the small flower bouquet he had bought for her.
"What are you doing here?" Aairah asked, trying to calm her nerves and keeping her rude tone aside.
To say she was taken aback would be such an understatement because she'd never expected Aadil to show up at her doorstep like that.
"Well, a sweet girl invited me to the dinner but you aren't being sweet anymore." He attempted a joke, trying to lighten up the mood.
Aairah realised how rude it had looked of her and she had already caused enough damage to Aadil, she couldn't just throw him off when she was the one who invited him to the dinner.
"Aairah, I know I am an asshole but we both have a lot to talk about, so let me just come in and we can talk later?" He suggested and Aairah thought about it for a second before nodding.
He stepped in and Aairah locked the door behind. They silently made their way towards the living room and then to the dining table.
"Aairah, you didn't inform me that you had another friend coming, we would've waited for him." Her father was the first one to say.
Aairah cleared her throat, trying not to look at Viaan even though she could feel his glare on her, "Uh -dad, he informed he'll be late and that we can start without him, he didn't want us hold back because of him." She made up a silly excuse.
"Okay." Aairah's father spoke.
"This is Aadil, by the way." She introduced him to her parents and his father smiled while her mother looked suprised.
After two minutes of small talk and awkward situation, Aadil took a seat beside her own, and she served him his food. As soon as she sat on her seat again, Viaan turned to her.
"What is he doing here?" He asked in a whisper, making sure Aairah's parents who were busy conversing with Ruhi didn't hear him.
Aairah shook her head and refused to answer him before she resumed eating her dinner. She felt a hand gripping her upper thigh under the table and she almost chocked on the food.
She knew Viaan was doing this purposely, he was mad but Aairah was not one to be blamed. She shot him a glare but he refused to remove his hand. She cursed under her breath before taking the last bite of her food.
"I am done, and I am going to my room." She announced to no one in particular.
"Aairah, don't be rude like that." His father admonished her and she gave out a sheepish smile.
"Sorry dad, but I am not feeling well. They can join me after they are done, I think they don't mind, right guys?" She looked at Ruhi, her saviour.
Ruhi gave out an assuring smile to her best friend, "Yeah, sure. We're almost done anyway, you go take rest." She said, covering up for Aadil and Viaan.
As soon as Aairah stepped in her room she felt someone behind her. She expected it to be Viaan but to her surprise it was Aadil. She offered him a seat on the chair near her study table while she sat on her bed.
"What do you want to talk about?" She asked, running a hand through her.
"I want to apologise for my rude ass behaviour yesterday, I was drunk and didn't know what I was doing." He apologised, his voice low and calm.
Aairah sighed before looking into his dark brown eyes, "I am sorry too Aadi, I didn't mean so much to happen between us. I truly liked you, and you became such an important person in my life but you and I both know that we cannot be a thing anymore." She spoke, trying not to have a breakdown again.
The pain was still fresh, she was with Viaan but the memories she shared with Aadil, and his loss was too much for her to bear. But she knew she did this to herself, no one else was to be blamed.
"I know but can we at least not hate each other? You matter as much to me as I do to you, so can we at least try being friends?" He offered, not sure if she was going to agree.
"Yeah, but I have something else to say." She spoke, ready to break the news to him. He deserved to know.
"Go on."
"Viaan and I, er.. We are kinda together now." She said, looking at anywhere but him.
Aadil looked taken aback for a second but nodded nonetheless, "I saw that coming, I knew he had started liking you lately. His odd behaviour with me and the way he looked at you were enough signs for me to know. I am sorry that I was being selfish and holding you back for myself." He said, rubbing the back on his neck.
Aairah felt tears brimming in her eyes, "I am sorry that I came between your friendship." She apologised, meaning every ounce of the word.
Aadil gave out a small smile, "We'll be fine Aairah, he's my best friend and always will be. I just need to talk to him once."
"Okay. But still, I am truly guilty for whatever happened." Aairah apologised again.
Aadil shook his head and stood from the chair, "Come here?" He mostly asked her, opening his arms.
Aairah wiped the small amount of tears that had spilled out and stood from her bed to hug Aadil.
"I am sorry, really." She said again.
"Shh.. it's okay. I am equally to be blamed." He spoke.
The door knob turned and Viaan strpped in the room to a sight he had grown to despise so much. Aairah was wrapped in Aadil's arms and she was emracing him back with equal affection.
"Did I disturb you guys?" He asked out loud enough for two of them to hear.
Aairah jumped out Aadil's arms only to see Viaan glaring at Aadil. Her nerves got the best of her as she padded on her toes to him.
His eyes drifted from Aadil to her, "Are guys together, again?" He asked the most dreadful question.
"What? No, I wouldn't do that to you." She told him, surprised he would think anything like that.
"Sure. The way two of you were wrapped in each other's arms proved otherwise." He shot two of them a glare, trying to hold back his anger.
"Will you stop making something out of nothing? I am not going to leave you, remember that. I'll be out with Ruhi in living room, you two better talk now." She said looking between the two of them.
Viaan sighed before nodding. Aairah was about to step out of her room but he pulled her back to place a kiss on her cheeks.
"I love you, okay?" Aairah whispered, indirectly begging him to keep himself cool and not his anger take over.
Viaan nodded and she left the room.
"I am happy for you guys." Were the first words Aadil said to his best friend.
Viaan gave him a look, "You are an asshole for doing all the shit you did!"
"Dude! What the fuck? I didn't do anything except lying to you in the beginning, I truly started liking her." He gaped at Viaan.
"Yeah, just the way you like every other girl, right?" Viaan spat.
Aadil sighed, "Viaan, my intentions were never bad with her. I only took this further because you had me convinced that you felt nothing for her, don't you understand that? I am an asshole but not such a fucked up one that I will date a girl you like." He said, not yelling at him anymore.
Viaan ran a hand through his messy hair. He knew Aadil was right, "I am sorry. I wasn't just convincing you but myself too that I don't like her. What the fuck was wrong with me? I liked her all along and never realised it until I saw her going away from me." He said more to himself than to Aadil.
Aadil had a small smile on his face, "It's okay bud, at least something good came out of that relationship." He remarked. Viaan looked baffled so he explained, "You realised that you have feelings for her, what else can be better than that?"
"You're right. Why did you never tell me she liked me when you knew all along?" He asked him the question that was troubling him the most.
"It wasn't my secret to spill."
Viaan nodded in understanding, "I am sorry for my fucked up behaviour." He apologised, though it took him to keep his ego aside before doing that.
"It's okay, I am sorry for breaking my promise of never hurting her." Aadil apologised back but added after a second, "What about an apology for dating the girl I like?" He smirked, trying to lighten up the mood.
Viaan chuckled, "Yeah sure, you'll be over her in a week. And I am serious, no more messing around with her, she's my girl." He said, meaning everything.
"Damn, you're whipped already." Aadil teased, laughing.
"I am not whipped, I just don't like sharing what's mine."
Aadil nodded before stepping forward and giving him their casual 'boy-type-hug'. Viaan returned it and was smiling in relief, he thought there was going to be a lot of yelling and fighting but then he forgot that despite that play boy aura, Aadil was one of the most understanding person he has ever come acrossed and he was proud to call him his best friend.
"It won't be a problem if Aairah and I stay friends right?" Aadil asked after pulling away.
"What? No, of course not. Who am I to tell her who to be friends with?" Viaan answered truthfully.
Sure he was the jealous one, but he knew they were mature enough to give each other space that every relationship required.
Both of them left the room and with a grin on their faces made their way to the living room where Aairah was staring at the wall and biting her nails while Ruhi was talking to her, trying to calm her nerves down.
The moment two of them stepped in the living room she shot up from the couch, "Everything alright?" She looked at the two of them and Viaan chuckled at Aairah's nervousness.
"Yes baby, everything is okay." He said and then looked at Aadil who nodded.
"Except the fact he's dating a girl I like." Aadil added, looking at Viaan who shot him a glare.
Aairah was embarrassed and tried to hide her flushed cheeks, "I told you not to mess around." Viaan warned him.
Aadil chuckled, "Yeah, alright bud." He held up his hand in surrender.
Ruhi was staying at her place for the night and after the guys left Aairah sighed and went to kitchen to have water. Her father was there so she took the exact moment to thank him, "I am so glad dad that you made an effort today, thank you so much for staying for dinner." She beamed at him and his father did the same.
"Anything for you, Aairah." His father responded before kissing her forehead.
Once in her life, Aairah was happy that the things were exactly how she wanted them to be. She had made up things with Aadil, Viaan and his friendship was not at stake anymore and most of all, she was now with Viaan - something she wanted since forever and her best friend was waiting for her upstairs to spend the whole night having movie marathon and talking. She wanted nothing else.
~
Two months had passed and Aairah and Viaan were still going strong. Just when Aairah had thought she couldn't fall in love any deeper, Viaan proved her wrong. His boyfriend like behaviour wasn't much different from how they were before dating, and that is what Aairah liked the most about it. The only add ups were the intense make outs and Aairah's constant reminder of I love you's.
In Aadil's words, Viaan was totally 'whipped' since everything from his behaviour to his actions were connected to Aairah. It took him whole two months to realise what it felt to be loved, and to love. He still hadn't confessed it to Aairah, he was just looking for the perfect moment when he can do it.
It had taken Aadil one month to fall back into a relationship, his feelings for Aairah were stronger than for any other girl but he respected her choices and now they were best friends.
When the news fled in school about Viaan and Aairah dating, it accompanied a lot of rumours. The most popular one being that Aairah had cheated on Aadil with Viaan, which in no sense was true.
Being popular was another thing, but being called the whore of the school was another. Ruhi, Aadil and Viaan tried to convinced Aairah that people's opinion never mattered but they had already gotten in her head.
The first two weeks were the worst, people glared at her and called her names but Viaan was there for her, along with Ruhi and Aadil. Slowly people realised how happy Aairah and Viaan looked together and the rumours subsided, they knew when Aadil held no grudges against her, their opinion and dissing words didn't hold value.
It was carnival day in their school, also Viaan and Aairah's two months anniversary. She was excited but Viaan on the other hand was fighting against his nerves, he had chosen this day to tell her, to confess what he truly felt for her.
"You're acting like a little shit." Aadil chuckled at his best friend, who was pacing back and forth in the empty ground on the backside of the school.
Viaan shot him a look, "Shut the fuck up!"
"Dude, you aren't proposing her to get married, it's just a simple 'I love you'." He remarked and Viaan sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"You're right, I'll just tell her when I see her." He said to himself and Aadil nodded.
Aairah had refused to Viaan's request to pick her up because she got herself a car last month and liked driving on her own.
Viaan's phone beeped and it was a message from Aairah informing her she had arrived. "Time for the show." Aadil spoke reading Viaan's expression.
He didn't respond and made his way to the main school ground where the carnival was actually being held. Aairah had told him to meet near the entry area and within seconds he spotted her.
She was wearing a cream leather jacket, a short black plaid skirt that ended mid thigh along with long boots. Her make up was perfect but the December wind added pink colour to her cheeks and nose.
He circled his arms around her from behind and she almost squeaked. He chuckled before placing a kiss on her cheeks, "Hi baby."
"Hey." She smiled.
Aadil had already disappeared with Vanshika, his girlfriend. Ruhi was standing with Aairah along with her boyfriend, Arun.
"Hey there!" Viaan greeted Arun.
He wasn't from their school but all of them knew each other since they all went out a lot. Ruhi and Arun went to same tuition and liked each other a lot, and were dating shortly after their friendship.
"Hey Asshole! How're you?" Arun grinned at Viaan.
He chuckled at him, "Your boyfriend is sweet as ever." He teased Ruhi who laughed along with him.
"Dude! You curse as much as I do, you just act like a goodboy in front of your girl." Arun argued with a smirk on his face.
"Whatever." Viaan dodged him and took Aairah's hand to take her away from the couple and spend some time alone, "See you guys later." He said two Ruhi and Arun.
"What are you wearing?" Viaan asked her as soon as they were away from them.
Aairah scowled at him, she knew she looked good, "What? You don't like it?"
"Are you crazy? You look sexy as fuck. I wish we were somewhere better, like my bedroom or yours." Viaan whispered the last words in her ear which made Aairah's blush to appear.
They still hadn't made love to each other, both of them decided to wait for the special moment since they were too young right now but that didn't make Viaan keep his dirty mouth shut around her. It gave him a certain pleasure when he saw her flustered just by his use of dirty words.
"I like when I make you blush." Viaan grinned at her and she swatted at his shoulder.
He took ahold of her hand and took her to the backside of the school, where he was with Aadil few moments ago.
"Why are we here?" Aairah asked, bewildered.
"I need to talk to you about something." Viaan informed her and her eyes went wide in shock.
"You are breaking up with me, aren't you? Oh my god! Viaan, please don't do that. I love you, and I am sorry if I did anything wrong. We can talk about it but please don't -"
Aairah was cut short with her rambling when she felt Viaan's lips on hers. She was shocked for two seconds to respond but she recovered as soon as he bit her lower lip. Her hands went to his hair as his hands rested on her hips.
He gave it a squeeze as she moaned his name. Viaan traced his tongue on her bottom lip and the sparks present between them was ignited further.
"I love you." Viaan whispered.
It took Aairah a second to realise that it wasn't her who said that, it was Viaan. She stopped the moments of her lips and pulled back enough to look into his eyes.
His honey brown orbs looked as much in surprise as herself and she gulped before speaking, "Did you mean that?" She asked.
Viaan nodded as he pulled her closer, if that was possible since there wasn't any space between them.
"Yes, Aairah. I love you! I have loved you since the time we shared our first kiss but it took me two months to understand what really love is, it isn't explainable to be honest. When I was short of words to describe how I feel for you, that was the moment I realised I love you. I love you Aairah Sharma, I love you my best friend."
He was grinning from ear to ear while Aairah mirrored his expressions, the only difference being her eyes were filled with tears. Her ears had been dying to hear Viaan say that, she didn't want to rush him because she wanted to be patient and the result in the end was the most sweetest.
Aairah didn't respond rather she crashed her lips on his and she felt something she had never felt before when their tongues met - an ardent desire to be with Viaan forever.
"Please say it again." She begged in between the kisses.
"I love you Airah!" He confessed his love. Viaan felt like the luckiest person on the earth as he held Aairah in his arms and confessed his love to her, "Happy two month anniversary baby."
"I love you." Aairah reciprocated. "And same to you babe, please promise to not leave me, ever?" She asked him, staring into his honey brown eyes.
"I promise to stay forever, I love you so much baby."
These words of love weren't just three magical words to them, it was much more, it was a promise of their undying love filled with pure passion, it was An Ardent Vow to be each other's forever.
THE END.
