Introduction

My crewmates and I sat around the large round table that was at the middle of the Cafeteria, indulging ourselves with various celebatory food and drink, calmly chatting and relaxing, glad and relieved that we had successfully launched The Skeld from Earth, and were now undertaking a journey which no other human had yet undertaken.

The mission of The Skeld's crew is a rather important one. You see... we are traveling to Planet 72-Prosperity. You've probably never heard of it, few individuals have. I presume that I shall have to explain. Now, where to start...

Over the last couple of years, many probes have been sent into outer space, searching, and Planet 72-Prosperity was among those searched. It was recently found to contain a most marvelous particle, a previously undiscovered medical wonder. The only particle known to man that can cure cancer. Yes, that last sentence is error-free. It truly can cure cancer.

This phenomenal particle was appropriately labelled 72P-C². Named after both its place of origin and its function, 72P-C² is short for 72Prosperity - Cures Cancer. Not the most intelligent-sounding particle name, but indeed still quite suitable nonetheless.

Now, you may be pondering the following question regarding it's function.
But what about Chemotherapy?
Well, yes, Chemotherapy has been known to cure cancer, but not always.
Chemotherapy only provides a survival rate of 85% for females with Breast Cancer. An even lower statistic is found in it's impact on Regional Lung Cancer, only curing 27%.
Even when successful, Chemotherapy causes a great deal of negative side effects, some of which can cause a person's health to suffer for the rest of their life.

Now, this is where the 72P-C² Particle is so amazing. It has been proven to have a 100% success rate, yes, one hundred percent, a figure previously unknown to be reasonably applied to any technology or medicine within the medical community. In addition to this high success rate, this particle, unlike Chemotherapy, has very little to no negative side effects, effectively healing people and enabling them to live a healthy, happy life.

Ahem.
My apologies for that rather long strand of science discussion, I can tend to get rather off topic at times.

Anyhow, whilst many fabulous discoveries have been made, the medical world was astounded by this one. They insisted that an Astronomical team was sent to harvest this miracle particle at once and bring it back to Earth, enabling scientist to heal thousands of people around the globe.

Well, to get more to the point, we are that team. Us here on The Skeld are the brave and plucky souls chosen to undertake the arduous 2-year journey and harvest this 72P-C² Particle.

Oh, I probably should introduce myself. Yes, I certainly should. I beg pardon, I can be rather scatterbrained at times, often with my head in the stars, thousands of light years away.

I am called Lime. No, that's not my real name, but rather my code name. I am not quite obliged to indulge anyone as to what my real civilian name is. Codenames, we all have them. Well, everyone on The Skeld does anyway.

You see, it has been found that the numeric system of identifying individuals is rather obselete. Completely ineffectual in emergencies. After all, who on earth has time to look for a little number on a persons Astrosuit when red lights are flashing everywhere? That was rhetorical by the way, so you needn't answer.

Anyhow, an individual within the Astro-Scientific community came up with the scathingly brilliant idea of colour identification. Thus, my Astrosuit is composed of a Lime green colour. Furthermore, I am referred to as "Lime". A basic system that makes identification much easier. In addition, it also helps us seem more human that simple digits would, and it helps us to retain some sense of anonymity, for security purposes.

In total, there are 10 of us. I look around the table, identifying each figure as my eyes settle on them and running through each short analysis that I have conducted of each individual.

Foremost there is Red, the Commander of The Skeld. She has black hair, swished into a ponytail, and blue eyes. I have yet to fully comprehend her character, but so far she appears to be rather reserved, though trustworthy, but I have deemed her as a capable leader nevertheless.

Sitting next to her is Green, a person whose facial features betrayed him as being of Brazilian heritage, his suit was a more dark green than my own. Of his personality I've yet to decode, but there is always a prominent smirk on his face which I find utterly exasperating, although there was one occasion in which I observed a slightly unsavoury nature that slipped through.
Sitting on the other side of Green is Orange.

A pleasant, cheerful person who always brightens up the room, Orange is always a ray of sunshine, her evident African background certainly contributing to her beauty, especially in her noble yet jovial facial features, and of course her Orange Astrosuit compliments her skin tone quite nicely, as she always jokes whenever she dons her Astrosuit, declaring that orange is her favourite colour.

Yellow is next. The most quiet person among the crew, a shy, timid adolescent. His youthful features gave away his age as being, or rather close to, 19 years old. Certainly the youngest among us, his intelligence is still quite equal, if not above, our own. He has already managed to obtain a PhD in Astrophysics, with a high distinction. I have no doubt that Yellow will greatly contribute to the Astronomical world.
His facial features are rather standard, but there is slight accent that undertones his words which identifies him as being British.

Beside him is White. Your average joe, I regret to inform you that there are no remarkable personality traits that can distinguish White.
In her appearance, I suppose her face is not incredibly pretty, but nor is it ugly, it is on the point just between the two. However, it can be said that her bright ginger hair and bright blue eyes do greatly contrast with her white suit.

The next person, between White and myself, is Cyan. With a suit composed of a light, bright blue, he was a rather light spirited person. A highly extroverted individual, he is always happy to crack a joke or tell a funny story, content to chat away for hours. His features portaying him as being of an Asian Ethnicity. Japanese, to be precise, as he had once mentioned in conversation. A quality which had instilled in him a kind nature towards and a respect for all those he encountered.

To the left of myself was Purple. An Australian, or Aussie as she prefers to be called, Purple's spunky nature can be easily seen by her spiky silver hair (which is dyed) and colourful tattoos that run down the side of her neck and right arm. One random fact that she once told me was is that she absolutely loves meat pies. True story.
Though her fellow countrymen are often well known for being rather jolly persons, Purple is, as an individual, unfortunately also quite a nasty-tempered person at times, who often flies off the handle at the slightest thing that annoys her. My diagnosis? Anger issues. But I've yet to fully assess her psychological profile.

Next up is Brown. He is an somewhat introverted yet easygoing bloke. From his facial features, it is difficult to distinguish any singular trait that may give insight to his heritage. He has Brown hair and gorgeous green eyes. His accent is also quite a mixture, although sometimes when he is more relaxed or surprised I fancy that there is a slight South African note here and there.

Last but not least, finishing this short circular analysis of the crew is Blue.
A man with a relatively short yet stout stature, and peppery grey hair that was significantly balding.
Throughout my lifetime I have met many German's, and always found them to be kindly, cheerful people.
Unfortunately, Herr Blau is not among those. Unlike some people, he most certainly does not have any trait that immediately recommends himself to all that he meets. Instead, so far I have observed him as being a rather sullen, pessimistic person, sometimes borderline rud-

My observations were cut short by a quiet, beeping sound.
Around me, I became aware of everyone's murmurs also quietening down at this noise.

At the centre of the table sat a Communication Tablet, the source of the sound, on it was a small red light in the corner, which was now flashing.
This meant that a communication was coming in, waiting to be recieved.
Myself and the rest of the crew silently turned our eyes towards Red. As Commander, she was entitled to flick the Recieve switch.

Aware of our stares, she gave a slight smile and a small, inquisitive eyebrow raise, before leaning forward and neatly flicking the switch.
