7. MOVEMENT

CHAPTER SEVEN: MOVEMENT

---

FIFTEEN WEEKS PREGNANT (FOUR MONTHS INTO THE PREGNANCY)

The baby was one the same size of an avocado or an apple. Maddie's baby bump was growing and she had to go to her gynecologist regularly. Every week she would have to go to the gynecologist. And she would always get a picture and a recording of the ultrasound with her home.

Five would always join her and was always in awe when he saw his unborn baby. But this was actually the first time he wasn't there.

"You should avoid any stress. At least as often as possible" the gynecologist and looked at Maddie.

She gasped "Is...is my baby alright?" suddenly her heart was pounding hard and fast against her chest.

The gynecologist smiled at her "Yes it is. I'm telling this to every expectant mother" Maddie let out a sigh of relief. But she knew the gynecologist was right. She had to calm down. She had to take deep breaths.

She promised that she'd take care and then left the gynecologist's office again, a new picture of her baby in her bag and a little smile on her lips.

She couldn't wait to show Five the new picture and the new tape that the doctor have giving her so they could watch it at home.

---

Maddie have just got home from her 15-week doctor's appointment and the gynecologist have asked all the basic questions. Did she have any cramps? Is she eating normally? Is she urinating regularly? Have she felt the baby move yet? Every answer She was expected other then the last.

Maddie had not felt her baby move. It didn't seems to phase the doctor, because according to her, some babies just don't move as much as others, and with Maddie being a first time mom, she may not recognize the slight movements until they become stronger later in the pregnancy but it was disappointing.

"Once you feel them, you'll know. Some women have described it as a tapping or the feeling of gas moving around. It'll be sublet at first, so you shouldn't worry if you don't pick up on it right away" the doctor's words ran through Maddie's mind as she took out the sonogram equipment so she could have a look at the baby.

Once the doctor did the ultrasound, she heard the sound of a small heartbeat which was a sign that the little one was okay and still strong and healthy.

Maddie wished Five have being there to hear it and see the black and white picture that moved on the screen, but he couldn't get out of the meeting he was having. And it really upset him that he missed this important appointment.

The doctor actually ask Maddie if she wanted to know the gender but she didn't wanted them to check until Five could be there, but it's pretty hard for them to be able to tell until you're around 16 to 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

Letting out a sigh Maddie sat down on the couch and turn on the TV before she put her hand on her bump, running it around.

"Don't you want to move just a little bit for your mummy" she asked, still feeling a little disappointed that her little bundle of joy didn't want to make itself know to her.

Even she couldn't don't feel the baby like that, she could feel it with her powers.

---

Maddie was in the kitchen pouring herself some juice when she heard the front door unlock and she heard their bulter Alfred saying hello to Five.

Maddie then felt Five lay a kiss on her cheek from behind "Hello Love" he smiled before he slid his hand down to cup her belly and give it a little squeeze "And how is my little one today?" he said to her fetus.

"We're okay, just very hungry" she said and he chuckled "How did the appointment go? I want all the details" he said.

"It was good, she asked me about my eating habits and urination and bowel moments" she said "Yeah? Was she happy about your answers" he asked "Yeah, she said we are doing okay. She asked if I had felt the baby move yet and I haven't, but she said some women don't feel it until around 16 to 24 weeks into the pregnancy since this is our first baby, I might not feel movements until after 20 weeks" she said "Well, maybe we will just have to start talking to the little jellybean. I read that talking to them stimulates their brain" Five said as we sat down on the couch in the living room.

Five then turned to her before he leaned closer to her belly "Listen here little girl" he started "Or boy" she added in, raising an eyebrow as Five looked up at her with a small grin.

"Right or boy. We would really like if you moved a little bit. I think it would make your mommy really happy to feel you" he spoke in an adorable but awfully annoying baby voice which cause her to chuckled.

It was so wonderful seeing this soft and kind side of Five, she knew was in him. She was actually enjoying this retire side of him and so did he.

Maddie pulled his head back up and kissed his lips softly "I think we just need to be patient" she said and he nodded.

"Can I ask for a favor?" she asked and he nodded "Anything" he said "Can you put this on" she lifted up a DVD. "It's a recover of the ultrasound that the doctor gave me" she said and he smiled before he grab the DVD "Let's go watch the greatest movie we have ever made" he smiled while she chuckled.

Five then got up before he walked over to the TV and put the DVD in.

He then walked over to sit down next to me as the TV showed the ultrasound.

"This is amazing, this is our baby" Five smiled "I'm sorry that you couldn't be there at the ultrasound" she said "It's okay. This is worth the wait" he said and they both smiled as they continue watching the DVD.

FIFTEEN WEEKS & FOUR DAYS PREGNANT

Maddie sighed and rubbed her forehead. She felt nausea crawling up her body and took some deep breath to make it go away again. For the fourth day in a row she felt sick almost all day long now and it started to annoy her.

Maddie have read that some women suffered morning sickness but she didn't knew that it could be also possible to suffer not only in the morning but also all day long.

"Are you alright?" Five's sorrowful look met mine. He had been sitting on a chair over in a corner working on some files while Maddie was on the couch reading a book.

Now Five had left his place and come over.

"Yeah, I'm just...not feeling very well" she mumbled before she took another deep breath. But it didn't help, all of a sudden the nausea got so strong, she had to jump from the couch and run into the bathroom just to make to the toilet in time.

Five knocked on the door some minutes later "Love? Can I come in?" he asked "Mhm" she just made while she was brushing her teeth. She needed to get rid of that disgusting smell in her mouth.

Five entered the bathroom, still worried "Are you sure is normal that you feel so nauseous almost all the time?" he asked frowning. She just nodded and when she was finished, she could finally talk.

"I asked my gynecologist and she said that there are women that suffer way stronger from it than others. It's not like I can't leave the toilet anymore, Hon. I'm okay. It's going to be fine" she smiled at him and gently kissed his cheek.

"I'm sorry that you have to go through all those stuff" he said "It's not your fault" she said "It kinda is, since making a baby is more than one person job" he said "Well, it's part of it, nothing we can do about it" she said.

"Okay...But I'll still make you some soup now" with these words Five left the bathroom again and she couldn't help but smiled at her husband. He was always trying to make everything easier for her and she was incredibly thankful for that.

---

Five have decided to take Maddie out for dinner. It had being too long since the two of them have had the chance to have dinner at a nice restaurant. And Maddie was storken by the Italian restaurant Five had brought her. Both Maddie and Five had some delicious pizza.

And while Five was full, Maddie was all excited to get one of the those famous tiramisu they sold here. Her eyes were sparkling and a huge smile had been plastered on her face since they had arrived here. Five's heart was filled with so much love when he looked at her.

"I want some tiramisu for dessert" she said "Are you sure it's a good idea eating tiramisu? Is just there is alcohol in tiramisu and alcohol is not good for the baby" he said, a little worried "I know, but there is not so much alcohol in it. I can eat food that have alcohol in, even tiramisu. The baby wouldn't get damaged, so it's fine, so nothing to worry about my love" she said and he nodded.

He leaned over a bit and took her hand in his "You're sure you are able to eat one of the those desserts?" he asked, smirking.

Maddie nodded and she looked almost insulted by his words. "Of course! I've had enough food but there's always some space for dessert" she explained and waved at the waiter to make him come over, so she could order her tiramisu. Five watched her with a smile. How much he loved this woman and the baby growing inside of her.

"Would you like something as well?" she asked as she looked at he and he shook his head. He was too full to eat dessert. "I'll try a bit of your tiramisu if you'll let me" he smirked and winked, which made her chuckled.

"I'd share everything with you, even tiramisu" she responded and they both laughed.

"Well, I'm glad you are eating. Proteins help to build cells and make hormones for our growing baby. Experts recommend 75 to 100 grams of protein per day. And I'm glad you doing that" he smiled and she looked at him.

It was amazing how much he knew about pregnancy. It just mean that he really want this and he had read his homework.

---

FIFTEEN WEEKS & SIX DAYS PREGNANT

"I'll prepare a bath for you" Five said and then left while Maddie leaned back into the pillows on the couch. She closed her eyes and relax. She knew she had been stressed for the last couple of days and she needed to reduce that.

But she have actually felt small movement, but she was not sure if you could feel it outside or not, which was why she have not told Five. Beside she was not even sure if it was movements.

Only a few minutes later Five returned and sat next to her "The bath will be ready in some minutes" he said and she just nodded while she put her hand into Five's.

"Thank you" she said "For what?" he asked "For being such a great husband" she replied and leaned her head on his shoulder. His fingers started to stroke the back of her hand while they both remained quiet for a moment and just stared into space.

But then Five got up all of a sudden and pulled her up as well "Would you like some food later?" he asked and she nodded. Feeling all hungry suddenly although she hadn't thought to be any hungry today.

But then she was pregnant. If given the opportunity, she'd eat all day long "Let's have pizza" she suggested and he nodded with a huge smile on his face.

"What do you want on yours" he was already holding up the phone in his hand "Cheese and Pepperoni" she said.

While Five was ordering their dinner, Maddie went to the bathroom. She was craving a bath and was so thankful Five had basically read her mind, once again.

With a deep sigh she let her naked body sink into the hot water and leaned back with her eyes closed.

The water had relaxing impact on her and she started to feel better. She almost started to doze off when she could hear Five's voice "Slide a bit, Love" she opened her eyes again and found her husband standing next to the bathtub, fully naked.

"You want to join?" she grinned but moved so Five could find some space behind her. As soon as he was sitting, she leaned against her husband and let out a small sigh when she felt his hands on her shoulders.

"You need to relax, Love" he quietly said while he was massaging her shoulders "I know" she mumbled and leaned into his touch.

"You are not alone anymore" he continued as his hands slowly wandered down and stopped on her curved stomach. He gently stroked it and kissed her neck. She closed her eyes again "Why can't it always be like this?" she asked and turned her head so she could look at Five.

A serious look appeared on his face "I wish I could take away all the pain and sorrow that you have experience" he continued to cares her baby bump as he spoke.

Maddie know that Five was worried about her and the baby almost constantly and he knew he was overreacting most of the time, but he just couldn't help himself.

"I know you would if you could" she smiled as her husband and then placed a kiss on his cheek. She leaned back again and put her hands over Five's.

"Do you already feel the baby's movements?" he suddenly asked. She shrugged "I'm not sure...sometimes...there's something like a slight flutter in my stomach and I read somewhere that's the baby's movement. But it's not strong enough yet that others can feel it beside I'm not even sure that this feeling mean that the baby is moving" she couldn't hold back her smile.

"And....is the baby moving right now?" he wanted to know but she shook her head "No. I think it did before, but as soon as you put your hands on my stomach, it calmed down again" she explained.

"What would you prefer? A boy or a girl?" she had thought about this quite a few times so far and now she was really wondering what Five would prefer.

"I don't care" he said, sounding slightly surprised by her question "Although...a girl would be amazing. But I'd be incredibly happy we'd have a son as well. What about you?" she had know that he would ask her as well and grinned "To me it isn't important if we'll have a son or a daughter. The most important thing is that our baby will be healthy"

He nodded at her words "I hope it's going to have your eyes" she smiled and he rose an eyebrow "Really? Why?"

She laughed "You have no idea how much I love your dark green eyes, right?" she chuckled and turned around. He had a huge smile on his face "But your eyes are much prettier" he said but she shook her head.

"No way! I hope it'll have your eyes. But we can't have an effect on that anyway" he didn't say anything to that anymore, as he realized that Goosebumps had built on her arms.

"You're cold Love. We should get out" he commented and slowly got up.

Maddie did the same and started shiver almost immediately "Come here" he wrapped a soft towel around her body before he grabbed one for himself.

It was just when the two of them had put themself into comfy pajamas when the doorbell rang "Our pizzas!" she exclaimed and hurried into the corridor to search for her purse to pay the delivery guy.

Maddie took the two boxes, gave him the money and then closed the door again. She couldn't wait to get something to eat, she was incredibly hungry right now.

Five had brought a bottle of water to the coffee table and only a few minutes the two of them were cuddled up, eating their pizzas and watching 'Tom and Jerry' "Our child is going to grow up with Cartoon and Disney, am I right?" he asked with a smirk before he took another bite of his pizza.

She nodded "Of course! Klaus, Freddy, Ben, Viktor and I loved watching Cartoon and Disney when we were kids. Our child will grow up with Cartoon and Disney, that's for sure. Or...are you against that?" her eyes widened and she stared at her husband when suddenly the thought, that Five wouldn't like, hit her.

"Don't be silly" he calmed her down "You'll be the best mom in the entire world anyway. Our child will be the happiest" he leaned over to her and kissed her quickly.

"And you'll be the best dad in the entire world" she whispered against his lips and felt his hands on her stomach once again.

She snuggled in his arms and put my feet on the coffee table, next to the pizza boxes. They have eating everything and she was full and tired now.

For almost half an hour they quietly continued to watch the cartoon until Five turned around to her again, examining her.

"You know, you can come at me with everything that's on your mind" he mumbled "I know" she replied before she looked at him "I'll go to bed now, I'm dead tired"

She got up from the couch and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth before she slipped under the sheet.

She was almost asleep when Five joined me "You don't have to sleep as well, Hon" she mumbled as she slowly opened her eyes. He smiled "It's okay. I just don't want you to be alone, you know? You have to be alone enough when I'm working" he said.

"Thank you" she gladly wrapped an arm around his torso and placed her head on his chest.

Maddie wouldn't admit it but she had a hard time falling asleep without Five next to her. He made her feel safe and his heartbeat calmed her down, no matter what.

As she drifted away into dreamland, Five just lay there, holding her tight.

---

It was in the middle of the night when Maddie was woke up with a strange feeling, but this time, it felt like someone was popping a bag of popcorn on her stomach.

Her sleepy eyes widened when she realized what it was.

"FIVE!" she called out, making her tired husband sit up so fast that he almost flew off the bed.

"What?" he replied out of instinct, starling even himself.

"I think the baby is moving" she said, placing a hand on her belly and laying still to see if she could feel it again.

"Really?" his eyes widened as well, placing a hand on her belly "I don't feel anything" he sighed, moving his hand a bit to see if he was missing it.

"You wouldn't until later Honey. It's not big enough to jolt around in my stomach quite yet" she chuckled as he pouted next to me "Well, at least we know she's okay" he whispered, falling back down so his head hit the pillows.

"Or he" she said, poking his chest as she laid back down as well, resting her head on Five's chest while he wrapped an arm around her.

"Yeah or he" he sighed, sounding like he was already back asleep but she knew he wasn't. Her smile hadn't left her face as she felt the little pops a few more times before she also drifted back to sleep.
