The Next Afternoon - Ray's POV

I sit at the bar eating quietly with Shigaraki and Kurogi.

"Why are you here?" Shigaraki asks me. "Where's your parents?" He asks me and I flinch.

"Tomura Shigaraki, don't ask her that, she's sensitive to that topic." Kurogi says to him.

I shake my head. "I'm here because I'm an orphan." I say quietly and I finish my food.

"What happened to your parents?" Shigaraki asks me.

I push my plate forward. "The food was delicious." I say quietly and Kurogi nods. "If you'll excuse me." I say and I get down off the chair.

"Ray, later today, I want to study your quirk for a bit, so I know what to expect." Kurogi says to me.

I instantly don't like that. "What do you mean study my quirk?" I ask quietly.

"I just want to see you use it on some test dummies, I don't want anyone getting hurt." Kurogi says to me.

I think about that for a moment. "Ok, I guess." I say quietly and Kurogi nods.

I head up to my room and I continue teaching myself how to read.

In a few hours, me, Kurogi and Shigaraki are standing in a training room.

"Now Ray, just use your quirk on those training dummies over there." Kurogi says to me.

I feel worried as I stare at the dummies.  "My quirk is really powerful, I don't," I start and Kurogi puts his hand on my shoulder, making me flinch.

"Its ok Ray, after this, you won't have to use your quirk if you don't want to." Kurogi says to me.

I hum quietly. "Ok." I say quietly and I turn to dummies.

I hold my hand out towards the dummies and I will my quirk to drown them from above.

Shigaraki stares at the dummies in surprise along with Kurogi.

Water appears everywhere, taking out every dummy in the room all at once.

"A water quirk." Kurogi says observing it and touches the water, his quirk flickers on and off. "With the ability to cancel out quirks too." Kurogi says surprised. "That's enough Ray." Kurogi says after a moment and I stop the waterfalls.

"Please don't touch the waterfalls, my Mom couldn't defend herself one time with her quirk because of mine." I say quietly as I rub my arm.

"Can you turn my quirk off?" Shigaraki asks me.

I look away. "Temporarily." I whisper.

Shigaraki ends up touching a dummy and it dusts away. "I can't touch anything with my bare hands." Shigaraki says to me.

I frown. "But shouldn't that protect you better?" I ask quietly.

"Protect?" He asks me confused.

I nod. "You can just, dust away the people who hurt you." I say quietly and Shigaraki looks surprised.

"Can't you just drown people though?" Shigaraki asks me.

I shrug slightly. "It takes too long and then I'd feel guilty." I say with a nervous smile.

Shigaraki looks really surprised. "But they were hurting you in that situation." Shigaraki says to me.

I scratch the back of my neck. "A hero doesn't kill someone unless absolutely necessary, my Mom taught me that." I say with a nervous smile.

"You two seem to be getting along." AFO says as he walks into the room.

I look at him as he walks and kneels next to us, placing hands on our heads and ruffling our hair.

"You two both have powerful quirks. With those, we can reform this world, no one would hurt either of you again." AFO says to us.

"We're not gonna hurt people right?" I ask him.

AFO looks at me and smiles. "We'll only hurt those who hurt us." AFO says to me and I nod. "Now, you two can leave the training room, I have to speak with Kurogi." AFO says to me and Shigaraki.

Me and Shigaraki leave the room and I sit quietly in the common area as Shigaraki stares at me.

"If you were to turn my quirk off, could I touch you?" Shigaraki asks me.

I shrug. "Well yes, until the water dries." I say quietly and Shigaraki nods.

"Use your quirk to shut mine off for a bit." Shigaraki says to me.

I look at him, surprised and a little scared. "No." I say quietly.

"Please? I want to touch you." Shigaraki says to me.

I look away as I think. "What if we found another way and tried things instead of me constantly shutting off your quirk?" I ask him quietly.

Shigaraki's eyes widen as I look at him. "Really?" He asks me and I nod. "Where do we start?" Shigaraki asks me.

"Its the pads on your fingers right?" I ask him quietly and Shigaraki nods. "What if we found a glove that covers one or two of them? When I was watching you earlier, you used all your fingers, so that probably means if all five pads are touching the same thing, you'll dust it." I suggest and he looks very surprised by that.

"We'll ask Kurogi to find something then." Shigaraki says to me and I nod. "I have a feeling we'll be great friends." Shigaraki says to me.

I manage a small smile. "Yeah." I say quietly.

"Now to work on your confidence." AFO says as he walks into the common room.

"Confidence?" Me and Shigaraki ask confused.

"As I see it Ray, you lack the confidence to function in places with lots of people." AFO says to me and I don't feel comfortable. "Don't worry, it won't be anything stressing, Kurogi will help you practice, he's a very gentle person as I have assumed you've witnessed already." AFO says to me and I nod a little. "Now we should watch a movie." AFO says to me and Shigaraki.

We end up watching Finding Nemo.

Afterwards, I read by myself in my room, well trying to at least.

11 Years Later

"Ray!" Tomura yells.

I get up with a huff and I change and head downstairs.

"It's too early to be awake Tomura." I say to him.

"Too bad, we have a plan to uphold." Tomura says to me.

I stare at him as I try to think of what plan he could be possibly talking about, then it hits me. "We're attacking U.A. today?" I ask him surprised.

"Go get your mask Ray, and your gloves, we're leaving soon." Tomura says to me.

"Do we have to attack children though?" I ask Tomura.

"We're only after All Might, he'll be there." Tomura says to me and I nod.

I go behind the bar counter.

I drink a glass of water and I take out my gloves and my mask.

I put on my mask and my gloves rest in my pocket as Kurogi gets here.

"Good Morning Ray Kage and Tomura Shigaraki." Kurogi says to us.

"Good Morning Kurogi." I greet back as I grab a snack from the pantry.

"Kurogi, we leave soon." Tomura says to him.

I eat the breakfast bar and then we leave to where the rest of the villains are.

"We leave in five minutes, make sure you have everything." Tomura says to them and all of them look to me.

"What?" I ask them.

"What do we call you Ma'am?" One of them pipes up.

I look at them a bit surprised while Tomura smirks. "Oh, right." I say and I look at Tomura. "What do they mean?" I ask him quietly.

"Well obviously they can't say your real name." Tomura says to me.

"Oh." I say and I put my hands in my pockets, thinking. "Lady Cascade sounds good." I say and the villains nod.

"Lady Cascade?" Tomura asks me.

I shrug and after everyone is ready, we attack the U.S.J.

I stand down in the center with Tomura as Eraser Head races down to attack us.

I yawn and I lift my hand slightly, throwing him back with water.

"What?" Eraser asks shocked.

Tomura smirks and I look around. "Tomura, he isn't here." I say to him as I continuously block Eraser from hitting us with his quirk.

Tomura looks annoyed by that. "Damn." He mutters and I nod in agreement.

I watch as Villains target the students. 

"Lady Cascade! These kids are strong!" One villain screams.

I look his way to see he got frozen and I look at the boy who did it, he look my age.

Tomura takes care of Eraser while I block the students.

"YOU FUCKING VILLAIN!" A blonde yells jumping at me.

I block him too. "Tomura, don't go too far." I warn him.

"Yeah, yeah Ray." Tomura says to me with a smirk.

I keep the students back, but the dual haired boy freezes my water and comes after me.

I just grab him with my water and I ignore him along with Blasty.

"YOU!"

I look up as Blasty goes for Kurogi and I shield Kurogi. "Don't get in our way." I say to Blasty who turns to glare at me.

He comes at me and I just keep him distracted.

All Might gets here and I watch him, he takes on the Nomu and I have a feeling we're gonna lose.

I join Tomura's side quickly and I shield us from the backlash of All Might's power.

"Thanks." Tomura mutters and he looks irritated.

"Don't throw a fit right now." I say to him and All Might finishes off Nomu. "Ok, now you can throw a fit." I say to Tomura surprised.

All Might turns to us and I watch him closely.

"Lets leave." Tomura says to me and I nod.

"Kurogi." I say and he gets us out of here.

"It was a bust, damn it." Tomura says annoyed.

He throws a fit while I take my mask off and I go over to the bar where I get a drink of water.

I look at Tomura as he cools down. "It was our first attempt, we're not always gonna succeed, you know." I say to Tomura who nods. "What we can do, is try again and again until we succeed." I continue.

"Your quirk could have stopped All Might." Tomura says to me.

"Those teens are strong you know, I was a bit distracted with not only protecting us, but holding back the hot heads." I say to Tomura who nods. 

"You could have stopped those teens." Tomura points out.

"You know I don't hurt kids." I say and I head up to my room.

I shower and change into a sweater and a pair of sweatpants. I take a nap in my room.

I wake up after a bit and my hair is covering my face.

I snort quietly in amusement and I head downstairs as the humidity frizzes my hair up to the point where my bangs just cover my eyes totally.

I get some water while Tomura snorts out his coffee.

"I think its humid." I say and I take a drink of my water.

"Ray Kage, please pull your hair back." Kurogi says to me.

I push my bangs up and I see a few people here.

I let my bangs fall again and I just finish my water.

I push my bangs out of the way once I finish and I look at these people.

One is tall the other is short and they have stupid faces. "No." I say and Tomura nods in agreement.

"At least give them a chance Ray Kage." Kurogi says to me with a sigh.

I stare at them for about 5 seconds. "I already feel sick of their presence." I say and my bangs fall over my eyes but fluffier. "I'm gonna go shower, that should take care of the hair problem." I say and I leave.

I shower and I leave my hair down.

I sit at the bar counter and I do my online schoolwork for today since I am a teenager, I do have to at least finish school, or that's what Kurogi says.

Kurogi walks by and then stops. He braids my hair and I look at it surprised.

Kurogi goes over my work while I just sit on the stool, kicking my feet as I wait for Kurogi to finish.

Kurogi sends my work out and I get off the stool. "Good job Ray Kage." Kurogi says to me with a smile.

I smile back. "Thank you Kurogi." I say and I got bothered Tomura.
