Two

The training center was located below the tower. It was enormous and contained just about any weapon you can think of. From medieval weapons to future-like weapons, they had it. I'm not really sure why I would want to use a javelin rather than a gun but apparently some would.

The closer I looked though I realized that those 'old times weapons' were in fact equipped with technology that made it just as lethal and precise as anything else in the room.

"So what do you think?" Tony asks, wearing a smirk.

I had no words though. The room was huge. It was a huge dome the had five tunnels spread evenly around that led to another dome but smaller. When you walked through the main door a huge shelf (more like a wall) held hundreds of weapons for you to choose from. The domes though were all completely vacant.

I heard chuckling and realized then that I still haven't answered Tony's question yet. I turn around confused, "What." and that makes them laugh more. I turn away from them and just continue to study the strange rooms.

"Are you just going to stand there or pick up a weapon and get your hands dirty?" I jump at the sound of Clint's voice. I look over my shoulder and see them already armed with their chosen weapons. Some I've never seen them use before and weren't their trademark weapon. For instance, Thor had a sword, Natasha had a sickle like thing, and Clint had what seemed to be a two headed sword.

I walk over to the vast selection of weapons and take my pick. All the weapons were very impressive but once my eyes fell on the twin Samuri swords I fell in love. The handle was a black criss-cross mesh like material with a bone-white handle underneath, poking up in little diamond shapes through the mesh. What really caught my eye though was the coal black blades, slightly curved. I am in love.

I slowly walk to them as if it's one of those cliche 'Love at First Sight' moments, dramatic music playing in the backround. Just as my hands start to wrap around the handles Tony calls out, "Those are brand new Mia, you're the first to use em so be careful."

I pull them from the stand and look back at Tony, challenging him, "Why? What's so special about them?"

"I specially designed those to absord energy."

"My energy?"

"Well," he pauses as if thinking and then shrugs, "not originally but I think you'll be fine."

I test the weight and give them a good swing, it's perfect. "Sweet." I took martial arts at age six and later on threw knife throwing and sword manship into the bunch as my hobbies. I always had a knack for such weapons as a child, it was an art. It was like dancing but lethal dancing.

I haven't had practice for years. At Shield they focused on strategy and such, not my personal talents. Even if they were helpfull towards my new profession.

"Uh, Mia?" Steve asks, his voice soft and kind.

I lift an eyebrow, "Yeah?"

"Just try not blow us all up, okay?" He smiles jokingly. He must know my powers leave my control if my emotions rocket.

I turn away so he can't see me roll my eyes, "Yeah, got it. Emotions are under control."

"Psh, says the woman." Clint mutters. Luckily Natasha got him first because just as soon as he says that I hear the air being knocked out of him and a gruff ouch.

"Easy Nat. Save that for training." Says Steve.

Natasha smiles charmingly and struts over towards me, "Aw just a little fun Cap, no worries." She leans towards me and lowers her voice so I can only hear her, "Let's show these boys how it's done shall we, I hear your pretty good in combat." She smiles devilishly and gives her weapon a twirl. "This will be fun."

I return the smile with equal mischief, "Indeed it will, I can't wait to get started." Then, as if on cue, we walk together towards the boys, stride by stride. Wanda already knows what we are thinking and walks over to come stand by us.

As soon as Clint recovered Tony asked if we were all ready and started up the simulation. We never had something like this in Shield. We used drones, not holograms. Tony said that these holograms make it seem like the real deal though because they can actually inflict pain. He said that they were much more dependable than drones. Holograms can look like mutants, aliens, or people. Drones look like robots, simple as that.

We each start in seperate domes and have to work our way to the main dome and 'complete the mission'. It sounds more like a really fun video game that I get to be in though. Me and Natasha were dome one, then Tony and Rhodey in two, Sam and Steve in three, Vision and Wanda in four, and then Pietro and Clint were in dome five.

Slowly the simulation started to load, little lasers located somewhere on top of the dome scanned the whole room and created a picture meant to be our loctation. As the simulation loaded Natasha quickly went over the rules and what enemy we were facing. She said today was simple, we were going to be in New York facing the Chitauri. She said it was Tony's pick, we all know how he was simply haunted by that event.

We each had to work our way from our dome and regroup and make our way to the main dome where she said a school will be located and we have to evacuate and save the children. This will be easy, all we have to do is work our way down the the hallway we came through. Sure, it was a pretty long hallway but it was a straight line to victory. The more I though about it though I realized that this seems almost too easy. I take a peek in the hallway and sure enough new tunnels were opening up and the main hallway entrance was closing.

"Positions Mia. The simulation is getting ready to begin." The scenery was fully loaded now, it was New York in partial ruins.

I and Natasha take our positions in the middle of our dome like she instructed and soon more tunnels began to open up all around us. This was going to be a lot more difficult than I thought. I turn on my comms and hold my swords in ready position. With a loud alarming blare the simulation starts and now I knew it wasn't a fun video game anymore because next thing I knew a figure jumped from a fallen pillar 20 feet in front of me and thrust its spear in my direction.

I snapped into action and dodged it. Apparently not fast enough though because a searing pain erupted in my left side where the spear must have skimmed me. Tony wasn't lying about the pain, I took the creature down and then took a quick glance at my wounds but saw nothing. It still burned though like a real wound like this would.

"Cover me Mia, they're on my six."

Dammit. I forgot I'm working with a team. I turn and see Natasha single handingly bringing down at least five of them things. I see three working their way behind her, spears ready. I hurry and take action, with a single stroke I decapitate two and with the third I do a down stroke that allows the guts to spill on the sidewalk. As soon as I'm done with them though another comes flying down on its little ship, I happen to be good at throwing spears as well too though so I grab one of the spears lying around and throw it. Considering I haven't thrown spears in five years I did pretty good. I was aiming for it's heart but itstead got its throat, causing it to lose control and crash into its other companions.

"Clear. Let's get moving." Natasha commands. She takes off down one of the hallways that now is a street and I follow after her, looking for any threats she misses.

We do pretty well for the most part, we were a good team and worked well together. But then we got holed up in a little cafe and they kept spilling through the shattered windows, cornering us. Natasha's dominant arm was injured and my skin was starting to burn slightly from the stress. The stress...from a stupid simulation...

Just as my skin started to glow a static crackle filled my ear, soon followed with Sam's voice, "You guys look like you need some help in there." I smile, my skin cooled instantly. I am so happy to hear a team member has finally found us. I look at Natasha to see her smiling.

"All right get back we are busting in." Sam directs. Me and Natasha duck behind the counter, a loud crash sounded as the wall to our left blasted.

"On your left." Steve chuckles in the comms.

Steve dove right in the blasted wall weilding a combat knife and shield, Sam came up behind him armed with several knives and holding a M4. Quickly they reduced the numbers of Chitauri in the cafe and we all were able to move on to find the others.

As we moved together throughout the simulation we found the others and together we easily picked off the Chitauri as we went in search for the school. It probably took twenty more minutes though before we actually found the school.

The school was a mess, the Chitauri were everywhere and were holding everyone hostage in the gym. I was doing fairly well with my emotion levels until we reached the cafeteria where they were waiting for us. As soon as we made it 30 feet in the room we were ambushed, dozens of them spilled in doorways and crashing through the ceiling. We were surrounded.

As they pressed us closer and closer my skin started to flame and my bones began to feel icey. Before I could warn the others a blue-white aura surrounded my body and little lines of blue lit all around my skin as if the energy was coursing through my veins. Something strange happend though, instead of the energy exploding all around me, it instantly compresed back to me as if sucked back. All the energy then ran down my arms and exited through my hands into the swords I was holding. The blue and white aura then softly glowed around the blades. My veins still glowed softly with the energy but most of it is now stored in the swords, it was perfect.

I jump forward and take down four Chitauri with a single swipe, even though I was origianlly going for two I found out now that with my energy coursing throughout the swords I could cut through them like butter and expand the energy a foot or two from the sword eliminating more at a time, easy and fast.

I smile truimphantly and easily slash my way through the creatures, dancing around with my twin blades as if it was a performance. I felt something different, I felt a little bit more in control and happy, free even. I don't have to worry about exploding my team with these kind of energy absorbing weapons and I absolutely love it. How did Shield not think of this?

After a couple of minutes the room was cleared and we made it to the gym, there were only a couple Chitauri gaurding the people though because they'd sent all the rest of the creatures in the cafeteria. So it was an easy win then and we saved the kids. Hooray! We win.

Once we evacuated the people safely the simulation wavered and everything went hazy and disappeared. At first I was really confused when everything left, I'd forgot that this wasn't real.  We were done. I look around breathlessly at my team. They weren't lying about the simulation feeling like the real deal, screw the mission i wanted today, I want to go to bed. I'm so tired.

They looked tired too, even when tired though they were ready for more. They were all laughing and slappign each other on the back joking around while I'm crouched here panting and about to black out. I've never worked so hard, and all the energy leaving my body makes me dizzy and dead tired. I could probably sleep for a day and a half for how much energy I used.

Someone comes up near my side and rubs my shoulder, "Not too bad Mia, not too bad." Steve chuckles.

"I don't know Steve, she sounds a bit winded. Sure you're up for this girly?" Pietro says playfully. I shoot him a glare daring him to come over and help me up so I can give him a lesson.

"Ooh, don't provoke the tiger now Speedy, she just might bite you." Clint laughs.

I stand up waving off Steve's help that he'd offered and walked towards Pietro, "That's right, play with the bull you get the horns. And you sound like all talk to me buddy I didn't see you do one thing in there."

He chuckles and winks, "That's becasue you couldn't see me princess." He suddenly appears next to me, "And besides how can you possibly get me" I lunge at him but he is already at my other side, his breath tickling my ear, "if you can't catch me?"
