Season 1 - Episode 2

Part One

Addie POV

    After Alec and Izzy leave to inform their parents of the new Shadowhunters, Clary drags the rest of us outside to get Simon. I huff, my arm in Annie's as Clary walks with Jace in front of us. Simon stands before the large building and paces, talking to himself. Crazy little man. Annie snickers beside me and I send her a lopsided grin before turning around to face the building. I stop, taking a second to admire the building as we climb down the steps. It has high steeples with iron spikes and intricate designs along the top of it. A large angel sits in the middle of it all, a barely visible seraph blade tucked behind its wings and a scripture in Latin below it, too small for me to make out. Stained glass windows twinkle in the moonlight and I spy a greenhouse at the very top of the building. It looks like a beautiful cathedral compared to the rubble that Simon must see.

When Simon hears us, his head shoots up and his eyes dart between us. He takes in our outfits, stopping a little longer on Annie before turning his attention to Clary and giving a horrified expression. "What are you wearing Clary?!" He quickly engulfs Clary in a hug while covering her up with his jacket and Jace steps back to us. "Is that her boyfriend?" He asks and I have to suppress a giggle. "In his wildest dreams but no" I whisper back and he chuckles. The shrub beside us starts to shake and I instinctively back up, hand gripping my seraph blade.

   Annie does the same, her eyes narrowed and alert. Two men slither out from the shadows with eyes pitch black and pale skin. They both have a matching red ring around their necks, the new Circle symbol. Clary and Simon both scream, equally high pitched and annoying. The men instantly pull out seraph blades and attack us. Clary and Simon dive behind us as I lift my blade towards the men.

"Give us the cup!" The short one demands, his blade clanging with mine. The other one attacks Annie and Jace. The Circle member Inc don't if me has a cruel smirk on his face but he struggles to hold his sword. This will be easy. I smirk before shoving the blade harder and cocking my shoulder down then using my powers to push myself forward. I hit the man right in his chest making him fly into a tree, slowly hitting every branch as he fell down. His body slammed into the ground and I threw my blade, hitting him in the chest. He dissolves into a pile of dust and I retrieve my blade just as Jace kills the other demon.

   He pushes his hair back and sends me a wink. I roll my eyes but feel my cheeks burn a bit. Annie giggles but pulls me towards the building "let's get inside before anymore demons show up." I nod in agreement and yell back to Clary "come inside.. or don't. Either way we are going back inside where it's safe!" She snarls her nose up but drags Simon with us. His eyes are wide and he's talking a mile a minute. "Goddess Si, can you just shut up for five minutes?" I yell as he blabbers about meth. He glares at me but shuts up until Jace grabs his hand. "Woah buddy, I'm gay and all but you're not really my type. I don't do box dye blondes, more into tall, dark, and handsome."

I stifle a giggle as Jace gives him a horrified look and drops his hand. Instead of replying, he walks away while Simon takes in his new surroundings. "What? How the hell?" He mumbles. Annie giggles beside me and pulls me towards Alec and Jace. They stand next to a large computer with several screens. It shows the cops outside, searching but finding nothing. Simon asks Jace a couple of questions that I ignore. My mind still on my father and the cup. I have to get to that cup before Jocelyn. Annie grips my hand tightly and nods in agreement.

I'm broken from my thoughts as Alec loudly asks "why is there a mundane here?" Jace glares at Clary and Simon before replying "a Circle member attacked us when we went to get Clary's boyfriend." Simon and Clary both turn dark red, taking steps away from each other. "Oh we aren't dating" Simon says at the same time as Clary says "Oh he isn't my type." Alec just raises a brow at the two but shakes his head, while Simon glares at the side of Clary's head. Alec's eyes find mine and he slightly smiles "whatever. We have more important matters. Like the cup?" I nod my head "yes. We need to go back to our house. Yes I know risky, blah blah blah." I roll my eyes and drop down into a chair.

Jace and Alec sigh, giving me a look. "I have a way to get there with no one tracking us. And while yes, it may be burnt down you all are so very lucky that I happen to me the best at fire safety.. thanks to someone" I mumble. My eyes narrow at Annie and she sighs "I burn the curtains one time and you won't let it go!" I roll my yes at her "you almost killed cannibal! And Paddles just laughed!" Annie tries to hide a giggle and I do too.

I shake my head and compose myself before turning back to the others "I put a spell on certain places around the house.. for this very reason." Annie sits beside me, her legs in my lap "she's right. We can get there in and out, no problem. Though if we help you with this, we need a favor as well." I smile at Annie, her confidence growing around the other Shadowhunters. Alec's eyebrows shoot up and he looks at me "well what's the favor?" I let a wide smile slip unto my face "we need help finding another Shadowhunter but we can discuss that later."

Annie plays with the necklace from dad, gently twirling it around her finger. "I'm still confused why did the Circle take Jocelyn?" Simon asks Clary who shrugs, knowing absolutely nothing about what's going on. Alec steps up "that's classified to mundane such as yourself." Jace pats his arm and pushes him towards me. I eagerly grab his hand and pull him towards the seat beside me. His face turns red but his fingers intertwine with mine. Annie slinks over to the left, where Izzy pulls her into her lap and continues her research. Annie relaxes into her, looking happier than she ever has. I smiles and lean my head on Alec's shoulder. He tenses for a second before relaxing and rubbing circles along my hand.

Jace begins to explain and I listen intently, curious about Jocelyn's lies. "All we know is... a long time ago the Circle led a revolt. A lot of Shadowhunters got killed... including my father" he trails off his eyes hard. Alec speaks up then "And since the revolt we've been forbidden to even hear about the Circle." Clary furrows her brows and shakes her head. "But, how's that even possible? It's your history!" I roll my eyes at her as Jace snarks out "Says the girl who didn't know she was a Shadowhunter?" I snicker behind Alec's broad shoulder, hiding from Clary's glare. Alec doesn't even hide his laughter, a large grin on his face.

   Clary's face turns scarlet and she snarls at me "yeah. Yeah, you're right. And now the only person who knows the truth is missing, so I don't care about your rules or what's forbidden, I'm... There's gotta be someone out there who can tell us why they've taken my mother." I wave my hand at her "let Jocelyn rot. We don't need her, only the cup. If you're so worried about getting her back, you should go find Luke. He's the love sick puppy that follows her everywhere." Her face falls and she begins to cry "but- but Luke is the bad guy! He said he was going to turn us over for the cup!"

Simon holds her close and glares at me. I give him a vicious smile and whisper "try me" making him quickly turn away. "We have someone here that knows about the Circle but only Shadowhunters are allowed" Jace teases. "We don't need to know anything about the fucking Circle!" I shout before slipping away from Alec. "We need to cup and I'm going to get it, with or without you. Have fun playing cat and mouse with carrot top" I yell over my shoulder as I stomp down a hallway.

Izzy and Annie are hot on my heels, but the others stay. Alec and Jace give me sad looks while Clary looks smug, pulling Simon closer to the other two. A fire ignites in my chest and my stomach churns at the sight but I keep going, too angry to stop. Izzy takes charge, pulling us to her room before locking the door with a rune. "So how do we get the cup?" She asks. I look at Annie and grin, making Izzy gulp nervously.

"Here's the plan.."
