There had to be a door somewhere. A way to get out. 

I couldn't stay here any longer. I couldn't get caught here.

It was bad enough that I had read this novel in the first place. The book was not even considered proper literature. No serious student of literature who wanted to have a future at this university read this racy stuff!

"Would you care to join us?"  someone asked me all of a sudden. I turned around and saw my professor sitting at a table with the main characters of the story, with whom he was apparently familiar.
