Jungkook POV
While I was catching up with my brother's, I looked to the side to see Byeol with an extremely confused expression plastered on her face while she was staring at us.
"What's wrong?" I asked her, sitting beside her on a broken stool which was barely managing to hold up my weight. She handed me her phone and let me read the messages she had received, I raised my eyebrows and looked around.
"There's no one here but us, we need to think abstract," she muttered in her own thoughts, getting up to search the place thoroughly. Her whole body was stiff, she was obviously worried, maybe even scared of what might happen.
I walked up behind her, sliding my arms around her waist, pulling her into the warmth of my embrace while resting my chin on her shoulder.
"Relax Yeol, we can figure this out together," I whispered in her ear to try calm her down, she grabbed my hands and slowly pushed them away.
"How could I possibly relax? Someone knows who I am, who both of us are. You know I had this plan, that I could quietly escape this shit hole with you and your brother's. We could go far away from all this evil and leave Agent 001 and Euphoria as mere myths. But now? What do we do now? When there's someone out there, interrupting our journey to happy ever after," she ranted, massaging her temples. My brother's stopped talking amongst themselves hearing the seriousness in her voice, turning towards us.
"We can fight through it-"
"Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, UK, Australia, New Zealand and 32 states in the USA."
"Those are just SOME of the places the CIS have connections with. I've just killed the chairman of that organisation, becoming a fugitive to the country. Your enemies plus mine, that's practically a million people, and you said what, we can fight through all of them? Sure we can, it'll be the worlds most memorable suicide mission," she uttered, letting out a scoff at the end of her sentence.
"Byeol, when we chose this path, we knew of all the dangers. We knew we were the sun and moon when we decided to cause an eclipse, so what's the point of all this worry? When we know we can get through it one way or another. You sound a lot like you regret your decision," I replied, taking a step closer to her.
"Maybe I do,"
Even she seemed surprised at the words that left her mouth. "I'm sorry, I-" she let her face drop down as sighs continued to leave her mouth. "I just need some time, alone," she gave a short smile to reassure me although I knew it was fake.
I watched her leave with a heavy heart, unable to force stop her, because I knew deep down she must've wished for comfort. She does that a lot, not speak her emotions. I know she's been trained that way, it must be hard to adapt to normality.
I laid flat onto the concrete floor to think things through. Suddenly my phones notification went off, confusing me since I had only just got a new phone. The only people I had the numbers of were my brother's and Byeol.
Text conversation
Unknown:
Lovers quarrels are always depressing. It feels like you're in a romantic drama doesn't it? Now, switch that genre to action and it fits your life perfect. Euphoria.
Me:
Is this your way of trying to intimidate me? It's not working, shut your mouth and get a life.
Unknown:
Oh but if I shut up I won't be able to tell you where I'm keeping your precious star.
-
Disbelief. That was the emotion smeared across my face reading this person's message. Byeol's the strongest person I know, the best of the best, bullshit that anyone would manage to abduct her, that too in such a short period of time. It had only been minutes that she'd left.
Even with the unlikelihood of this unknown persons statement, I wished to take no risks. I wasted no time and called up Byeol's number.
*the number you have called is unavailable.*
Me:
I'm going to assume you're suicidal and have a wish to die at my hands, do you even know what you're dealing with here?
Unknown:
2 idiots foolishly in love? Think I can deal with it. Let me cut to the chase since I don't have all day. Come to the address I send you, alone. If I see anyone with you, I'll shoot her brains out before you get to bid her farewell.
I shut my phone and got up. My hyungs looked at my face and knew something was wrong.
"Someone has Byeol," I managed to tell them, even I was still struggling to believe this fact. "That's not possible, she's literally agent 001," Namjoon stated, the others nodded trying to convince me that it could be a trap.
"But what if it isn't? What if she really is in trouble and needs my help? Am I supposed to just not go because of a 50/50 chance? I'm going because I don't regret my decision, because I'm ready to do whatever for the sake of love. And even if it is a trap, what's the worst that could happen? After all,"
"I am Euphoria."
BTS POV
Jungkook left the warehouse, loaded with all sorts of weapons we had at the moment. The boys kept calling Byeol just in case they were right about it being a trap.
"Wait she picked up!" Yoongi exclaimed, putting her on speaker while all the boys crowded around.
"Are you ok? Where are you?"
"Yeah? Why did you guys call my phone like a million times? I switched it off because I wanted some alone time, if Jungkook's hearing me tell him I'm-"
"Fuck, call JK," Jin cut her off in a panicked state, "he's, not picking up," Jimin shut his eyes tightly in annoyance.
"Did something happen?" Byeol asked.
"Jungkook got a text, asking him to come to a certain location. The unknown person said they had you captive," Taehyung informed. Byeol didn't give a reply, sounds of her running were heard and then they could hear her loading what sounded like a gun.
"What are you-"
"Text me the location, I'm blowing some heads off tonight," she cut him off, spinning a gun around her fingers with murder on her mind before ending the call.
"These lovers are fucking crazy."
Hoseok said making the boys laugh while Taehyung messaged her. They got themselves ready too, figuring the two could use their help.
"How badly do you think those agents beat us while we were unconscious? My whole body aches like shit,"
Byeol POV
The location was a tall cabin in the middle of a forest. I'd gotten there at the speed of light, ignoring every speed limit because the only thing I cared about was Jungkook. He can't die. Not while thinking I regretted my decision.
Stupid mouth saying stupid things that the heart didn't mean.
I parked quite far from the cabin, silently walking into the forest. I snuck around the security on the outer perimeter, jumping through the trees swiftly without getting spotted. I took a look at the cabin, eyes quickly scanning the area for guards. I pulled out my silencer and aimed it at the one at the very back to slowly get rid of them one by one. They were falling like flies but those fools didn't know where the bullets were coming from.
I came out of my hiding spot after running out of bullets in the silencer, I had another gun but I didn't want the people inside to realise I was here, surprise is the best attack.
"WHO ARE YOU?" They interrogated.
"You know, this is why the bad guys never win, why do you have so much to say, like really at a time like this what is knowing my identity going to do for you? Just fight you fuckers," I lectured, instigating them to shoot. Their bullets missed me by great margins even when I hadn't even tried to dodge them.
"Whoever hired these literal amateurs must be an amateur himself," I thought to myself while taking the life of the last standing man by snapping his neck.
I took a deep breath to prepare myself for whatever was inside. I turned my wrists, cracking my neck as I kept my gun at the ready before kicking down the door with full force.
Nothing. Where was Jungkook? Why was the main room empty? I couldn't have come to the wrong place considering the men that were outside.
*ding*
My phones notification went off, I pulled it out to see a message from that same unknown number.
Unknown:
Keep walking babygirl. This cabin is so tall, would be a pity if you didn't come to see the view from the top.
I rolled my eyes and proceeded to walk up this building, listening to his orders like a crazy person. I tried calling Jungkook's number one more time, praying he would pick up. Still no answer.
I finally made it to the very top, it was a open roof, completely empty with the only thing there being a man, with his back facing me. I silently walked behind him holding a gun behind his head.
"Even the strongest people don't mess with certain people. For example, me," I smirked. The man quickly turned around smacking the gun out of my hand. His face was one I didn't expect to see.
"Byeol?"
"Jungkook?"
"I've been waiting for this unknown number to show up for ages, are you ok? Hurt? Did he touch you?" Jungkook looked me up and down, checking for wounds. "I'm okay, Jungkook I have to tell you this, I don't regret it, in fact this is the only decision I've made in my entire life that I don't regret," I quickly spoke, worried I wouldn't be able to tell him, he cupped my face and smiled.
"I know-"
"Idiots."
Me and Jungkook turned our head in sync, looking to the entrance door of the rooftop to see someone who was even more fucking unexpected.
Lee Taeyong?
"Surprised? Just because one acts weak doesn't mean you should fool yourself into thinking he actually is. Thanks to the CIS' training system, I might even be stronger than you considering how hard I've been training under the shadows," he said.
"Oh my god," I tilted my head in a state of relief, nothing to worry about if the man who I believed was a threat was nothing but an envious piece of shit.
"Why would you do this? I'm like genuinely asking why, are you really that dumb or just, genetically a man? No offence," I quickly turned to Jungkook after, "none taken," he replied with a questionable expression.
"So, Taeyong, how did you know what we're doing?" I asked, crossing my arms. "When you flipped me onto the floor I managed to stick a bug into your shoe," Taeyong responded.
"Not bad, baby steps," I smiled, talking to him as if he were a child because that's exactly how he was acting.
"If your dad finds out about you being a government slave he'll literally disown you," Jungkook raised his eyebrows.
"You know, the only reason I joined the CIS was because of you," Taeyong spat, ignoring Jungkook's words.
"Is it? I'm honoured."
Jungkook spoke sarcastically, I chuckled at his words, leaning my back against the rooftop edge, watching the drama. I didn't think it was my place to get involved. Heavy rain had started pouring down out of no where, it made it hard to see anything.
"I'm tired of waiting, I'm tired of not being good enough, I'm tired of remembering how I joined the CIS because I wanted to become better than you, it's time for you to die Jeon Jungkook-"
"LEE TAEYONG PUT THAT GUN DOWN!" A loud voice of an elder ordered as the door opened revealing a man standing underneath an umbrella which was being held up by someone else. He'd managed to see the gun Taeyong was getting ready to pull out before me or Jungkook.
"Mr Lee?" Jungkook squinted his eyes to see better.
"Dad I-"
"Did Jungkook hit you?" He cut him off in anger, Taeyong slowly shook his head, his body naturally responding with the truth, unveiling the scared little child.
I'm guessing one of the men had ratted Taeyong out because of how loyal they were to Mr Lee. "Have you forgotten my rule? You aren't allowed to touch him unless he's harmed you, I'll give you permission to do whatever you want the day he hurts a singular hair on your head, I'll even allow you to take all our men to kill him. But that boy has done nothing but be a better son than you,"
At this point, you could tell Taeyong's blood was boiling in anger, I could practically smell the stench of envy oozing off of him. He hated that his father couldn't side with him for once in his life. His dad turned around to leave as Taeyong loaded his gun, not caring about anything anymore, I knew what was coming, and I knew exactly what I had to do, again. I ran as fast as I could, pulling Jungkook into a hug while turning him the other way.
"I love you."
*BANG*
Straight into my chest, I fell into Jungkook's arms with the rain slapping down on my cheeks every second. Jungkook's eyes were fired up, coloured red due to anger, frustration, heartbreak. The blood seeped through my clothes, the amount of blood loss resulted in everything around me becoming blurry except him, and that's all I needed. To get one last glance at my beloved.
"I lost myself in the abyss of someone else's soul, yet again," I smiled to reassure him even though I knew I was coming to my end.
"Your darkness is beautiful, my love,"
