Regret
A/N: Aww he's so cute. It's hard to be mad at him when he's that cute.
~The Next Day || 14:01~
Jimin blankly stares at the TV, sitting on the couch with Baby next to him. There's a comedy show playing, but he hasn't paid any attention to it. How could he? It's been a full day without Y/N. This is only day two and he's losing his mind. He can't eat or sleep: he's just drifting. He's doing his best to take care of Baby, so there's that. Other than that, he's been staying in the same spot all day. His phone is right next to him, on the highest possible volume setting in case she calls or texts him. Jimin really, really wants her to text him. He doesn't even care what the text says. He wants to feel at ease seeing her name pop up on his phone. Even if it's only one time.
Baby whimpers, causing him to look down. The bags under his eyes are apparent, but there's nothing he can do for them, so he ignores them. It's not like he cares anyway. "What's wrong, Baby?" he asks, and the puppy gives him sad eyes. She creeps forward, resting her head on his thigh. "Ohhh, you want daddy to hold you?" Her eyes tell him that the answer is yes. "Come here, darling. Daddy's got you."
Jimin holds her frail body, leaning back and placing the pup on his chest. Her head is turned towards his face, her snout not too far away from his chin. "I love you," he murmurs, booping her nose off of his. She hasn't been very energetic at all this past day. Maybe she senses that he doesn't want to play and leaves him alone. He doesn't deserve her. Baby the Border Collie; how did he get so lucky to have not one but two precious girls in his life?
He refuses to cry again. He bites back his tears, petting Baby and trying to focus on her face. "You're so beautiful. Daddy loves you lots. You know that, right?" She merely stares at him, sticking her tongue out. He chuckles, kissing her head before deciding to relax. His cheek rests against the top of her head as his eyes slowly shut. There's nothing for him to do today, or the next day, or the next. All he can do is wait until Y/N is ready to talk to him. Each second that passes makes him feel worse. He can't push it down no matter how hard he tries.
About twenty minutes pass, and Jimin finally thinks he's about to drift off into a nap when the doorbell rings. He stands, placing Baby on the couch and watching as she curls up into a ball. He lets out an 'awe' before rushing over to the door. In his excitement thinking it might be Y/N, he jumps over and unlocks the door. He doesn't even think about being cautious as he swings it open. His smile falls instantly, fear controlling his body.
"What the fuck did you do to her?"
"N-No Jungkook wait-" Jimin jumps, backing up as Jungkook creeps forward. The Executive's enhancements shine, his eyes narrowed as he steps through the door.
"She didn't answer any of my texts, she's been out all day, she's clearly not here based on your reaction to me, so tell me, what did you do?" he asks.
"Jungkook hear me out, please."
"If you hurt her I swear to God-"
"I'm an idiot, okay?!" Jungkook stops in his tracks, his enhancements fading as he processes Jimin's words. "I'm a fucking idiot, is that what you want me to say?! Cause it's true! I let my anger build up inside me! I let it build up until I couldn't tell the difference between reality and my mind anymore! I let it build up until I lashed out on the love of my life!" He pauses, a fresh batch of tears welling up in his eyes. "I-I fucked everything up with the one person I love. The one person I cherish..."
Before he can process what's happening, Jungkook steps forward and cautiously embraces his Captain. Jimin squeezes his eyes shut, hugging back while he cries. "I didn't mean to. I-I didn't mean to," he mumbles with a whimper, trying not to be too loud. Jungkook doesn't reply, but he does hold Jimin tighter. "I don't know what to do without her, I feel so lost. Kook, I don't know what to do."
Jimin quietly explains the situation to his friend while he rocks him back and forth. After he's done with his explanation, Jungkook sighs. "Yeah, you fucked up. You probably triggered her."
That has Jimin pulling back with his jaw dropping. "Like, her past?" Jungkook nods to confirm it. As if Jimin didn't feel shitty enough, now his heart is about to explode. "No," is all Jimin can manage to say.
"She'll forgive you, you know that, right?"
"What?" Jimin asks in disbelief.
"Y/N has forgiven others for much worse. Don't give up, please?"
"Even though I triggered her?"
"I'm sure she'll still forgive you, don't worry," Jungkook says.
Jimin sadly smiles, about to reply when Baby whines. "Baby?" The dog waddles over, and Jimin kneels in front of her. "Daddy's here Baby, what do you need?" The dog looks at him and whines again. "Okay Baby, come here." She comes closer, and he brings her into his arms. "Daddy's got you, daddy's always got you. Shh," he murmurs, closing his eyes and holding her against his chest. "I love you," he whispers, petting her and bouncing her up and down.
Jungkook's eyes soften. "You really... wow."
Jimin glances up, keeping Baby close. "Hm?"
"Nothing, you just... you really treat her like she's your daughter."
Jimin smiles, kissing the top of her head. "She is my daughter. My little angel. Isn't that right, Baby?" The pup looks up and licks his nose. "Daddy loves you," he murmurs again, closing his eyes and resting his nose against hers. He feels the need to tell her he loves her all the time. "Mommy misses you, okay? She'll be home soon, I promise."
"Alright, I think you need to get out of here," Jungkook says.
"What?"
Jungkook hums as Jimin looks up in shock. "We need to get you out of here. I'm calling Tae: he'll watch Baby and you and I will go out."
"But where?"
"Let's go to the mall, buy some new dog toys and try and get your mind off of all this, okay?"
"But I should be thinking about it. I fucked up, Kook. And if I really did trigger her, then how do I live with myself?"
"Sitting around moping isn't good for your health. The best thing you can do right now is take care of your daughter and yourself. She'll come back, I promise. If worse comes to worst, I'll talk to her myself. There's nothing more you can do, so you have to take care of yourself." Jimin bites his lower lip, debating. "Come on, you go get changed and I'll hold Baby. I'll call Tae. He's fast, he'll be here as soon as possible, okay?" At his Captain's hesitation, Jungkook sighs. "Listen, I know you probably hate yourself right now."
Jimin shakes his head. "Understatement of the year."
"You have to try and do something. She may be mad at you, but she'd hate it if you weren't eating or sleeping or getting some fresh air at least every once in a while."
As much as Jimin hates to admit it, Jungkook's right (as always). "Fine," Jimin mumbles. He gives one last kiss to Baby and stands. "Daddy and Uncle Kook are going out for a bit, Uncle Tae is gonna take care of you, okay?" Jungkook smiles at Jimin's baby talk, holding out his arms. Jimin places the bundle of fur in Jungkook's outstretched arms and panics. "Make sure you support her stomach enough, and that all her paws are secured, and that her head is nice and warm against your body, and-"
"Jimin?" He shuts up as Jungkook laughs, holding Baby close. "Go get changed."
~14:03~
"Wait, Seul."
She turns back, giving you a sad look. "Can you stay with me for a few days?" you ask.
You can see her heart soften in her eyes. "Of course I can babe, whatever you need."
"I don't want to take you away from Hoseok or anyt-"
"Shh, don't worry about that. He'll understand, and just because Hoseok is important to me doesn't mean you aren't. You're my best friend. In your times of need, I want to be there for you. Can I... can I hug you?"
You hug her immediately and try not to break down again. You've been replaying yesterday's confrontation over and over again, and each time you feel worse. Part of you is angry as hell at Jimin, and another part is worried about him. What happened that made him so angry? Of course it's inexcusable anyway, but you're still worried. Who hurt him? You want to reach out so badly, but you also need time. A lot of it, actually. What he said shocked you to the core. The way it rolled off his tongue so easily... the way he didn't back off once he saw your horrified expression. The way it brought back memories you've tried to bury.
"Is there anything I can get you?" Seulgi asks, and you shake your head.
"You've done more than enough, Seul. Thank you. You being here makes me feel so much better." You pull away from the hug and offer her a sad smile. She returns it, keeping one arm wrapped around you while the two of you keep your eyes on the floor. You're not sure what to say. Or, better yet, if there's anything even to say in this moment. Jimin fucked up, that much is obvious, but are you being too harsh?
"Seul?" She hums. "Do you think I'm doing the right thing?"
"Babes, he called you clingy and annoying. I'm surprised you didn't kick his ass."
You crack a smile at that, leaning in to her touch. "I guess that's true. I just... was it Baekhyun leaving? Was it the interviews? Did someone hurt him on the way home? Why was he like that?"
"I wish I had the answer."
"Me too, Seul. Me too. I wish I had the courage to actually talk to him."
"Hey," she starts. She moves away, kneeling in front of you and meeting your eyes. "You can't dwell on this. I won't let you. He made a mistake and what he said was wrong. He knows that, we both heard that message yesterday. He regrets it, but right now you need some space. We're going to go have fun today, okay?"
"We are?" you ask.
"Yes, we are. My bestie isn't going to let this get to her. We're going to forget about it for a little bit and give you the space you need, okay? As soon as you're ready, as in one hundred percent ready, you can talk to him again. 'Kay?"
You stare at her for a few moments, then nod. "Okay, Seul. Thank you." She smiles, standing and offering you her hand. You take it and hop to your feet with a groan.
"You love me," she says.
"Yes, I do," you reply with a giggle.
"You look great."
"I just woke up and it's already two o'clock," you say.
She snickers. "Still look great." She kisses your cheek and motions for you to get changed. You go in the bathroom, doing your morning routine and even putting on some makeup along with your best clothes. If you're going to forget about the world for a little while, you're going to look good while doing it.
By the time you step out of the bathroom, Seulgi gasps and stares. "You're making me consider going lesbian right now."
"You have a boyfriend."
"Yeah but he doesn't look like you," she replies in a joking tone. You smile, your mind finally getting away from Jimin to instead focus on your day with her.
"Where to first?" you ask.
"Oh why of course the mall! Where else are we going to get manicures and a whole bunch of new stuffed animals?"
"You're buying me stuffed animals?"
"Nooo, we're buying each other stuffed animals!" she says in a squeal before dragging you out of the hotel room. You barely have time to make sure your phone is with you as she pulls you down the hall. Within what feels like a minute you're outside and hailing a taxi. "Ugh New York," Seulgi grumbles as another yellow vehicle passes. She tries flagging down a few more, but to no avail.
"Let me try," you say.
"What? Why?"
"I don't know, maybe I'm cuter," you tease. You were joking, but as soon as you try, one stops for you.
"Okay Miss 'I'm good at everything'," Seulgi says with a pout.
As soon as you get inside, Seulgi tells the driver where to go. "I'm not good at everything. For example, I'm not good at owning up to my mistakes. I'm pretty stubborn. When I'm in the wrong, sometimes it takes me a couple days to realize it," you say.
"Oh really?"
"Yes, and I can't confront people to save my life. I run away from most of my problems, and it takes me forever to gain the courage to face them. Oh, and I can't drive."
"You can't drive?" she asks.
"Never learned. On Ganymede I walked everywhere."
Seulgi blinks. "You can fly, but you can't drive?"
"I know, I know. It's weird."
"Beyond weird."
"Hey!" you say with a whine.
The two of you laugh and talk the entire short car ride, reaching the largest mall in the area. Seulgi pays the driver despite your protest, and soon enough, you're in the huge mall. It's beautiful, if you're being honest. Gigantic, lots of people, lots of stores. Seulgi giggles, and you can't help but do the same. She holds your hand, dragging you off. You barely keep up, which you're honestly fine with. It's fun to be dragged around by your excited best friend.
"Okay, dress time. We need to get you something that will slay him," she says. You instantly get what she means and follow her into the luxury store. "Okay, what color? I was thinking a burgundy, or an emerald color."
"Or blue," you whisper. His favorite colors are black and blue. You already have black dresses, but blue? You can only imagine his reaction to you strutting down the halls with a blue dress. If you're thirsting for yourself, how will he feel?
"Let's look for the 'man killer' dress," Seulgi dramatically says. You snicker but agree, walking deeper into the store with her. There's more dresses than you can count. "Short or long?"
You hum, thinking about the question. "You see, my last two dresses that I bought were long. Either long and fluffy or short. I don't think I want anything really..."
"Tight?" she asks.
"Yeah. I was thinking something more loose so I can bounce around like a fairy."
"I don't think you're that graceful, babes. No offense."
"None taken," you say, and it's true. You're dating Jimin. Clumsiness is a common occurrence for both of you, at this point.
Once you reach the back of the store, one dress catches your eye. It's exactly what you're looking for. Short and fluffy, and it seems to be in your size. "Okay, if you don't try it on I will," Seulgi says with a squeal. You giggle and obey, grabbing it from off the rack. "Want me to get a different size in case it doesn't fit?"
"I don't see why not, did you see any more of these though?"
She eyes the dress in your hand. "I'll go look around. You try it on, okay?"
She stalks off while you go into the nearest changing room, stripping as fast as possible and throwing on the dress. It fits perfectly, which is a surprise since a lot of the dresses in the store didn't look like they would fit you. Maybe this one was made for you. You twirl around, modeling the dress for a few more moments. The top is tight, the bottom short and loose. It's dark blue, no real sleeves on it, just two thin straps holding it up on your shoulder. It definitely shows off your chest and neck, that's for sure. It's not too low, but low enough that some skin is showing.
Without even thinking about it, you whip out your phone and take a picture. You model, striking a pose and taking a good one. "I couldn't find any others, how's that one?" Seulgi asks, knocking on the door.
"It's unlocked, come on in and see for yourself."
She does, and you hear her gasp as soon as the door opens. "I'm gay."
"Kang Seulgi!" You watch as she jumps over, embracing you and watching you in the mirror.
"My God, you're so pretty. What the fuck?"
"Shush, that's all you," you reply in a teasing tone.
Seulgi flips her hair over her shoulder. "And they say there's no such thing as two pretty best friends."
The two of you decide that this dress is the best. So, you change back into your normal clothes and try to find something for Seulgi. That doesn't work out to say the least. She said 'nothing spoke to her' as you paid for yours. Now, you're outside in the mall again. You laugh with her while she whines about not finding a dress.
"Okay okay, but what if you sent a picture of the dress to Jungkook?"
"To Jungkook?" you ask in disbelief.
"Oh yeah, he needs to judge. Gay best friend, remember?"
"I thought that was you."
Seulgi fakes a look of hurt. "I'm only gay for you. Now come on, let's do it." You laugh but agree, holding your phone and sending the picture to Jungkook. You ask him for his thoughts on it, then turn off your phone and put it back in your pocket.
"What do you think he'll say?" you ask.
"Oh he'll be drooling. I mean, I know I don't have the best memory, but I think I remember you and him dating, right?" she asks sarcastically.
"Oh ha ha. Yeah, I know."
"Doesn't help that you're hot."
You giggle, shaking your head and walking with her down the mall. Her eyes wander over the place, and a frown forms on her features. "Seul? What's wrong?" you ask.
She stares for another moment, then looks at you. "Huh? Oh, nothing. I thought I saw something, but it was just a decoration. Guess my eyes are playing tricks on me." Although you're unconvinced, you don't press. You don't really get the chance to seeing as she wraps an arm around you. "You ready to buy some jewelry?"
"I need more?" you ask with wide eyes.
Seulgi shrugs. "Can never have too much."
"You're saying that so you have an excuse to drag me into a jewelry store and buy some for you?"
"I did not say that."
"But you implied it," you reply with a giggle.
"Okay, so maybe that's true. Maybe."
"Well I'd be perfectly fine with it if that were the case. It's a girls day, let's make the most of it, shall we?" you say.
Seulgi smiles. "That's probably the smartest thing you've ever said."
"I'll take it. Honestly, it's not hard with me."
"Self-deprecation humor. I like it."
Before you can reply, your phone dings. You sigh and use your free hand to grab it and bring it forward. Seulgi seems nervous, but you don't comment on it. You pull up your conversation with Jungkook, and your eyes widen. Your feet stop on their own, Seulgi stopping with you. She drags you off to the side and looks at you in concern. "What is it?"
"No, it's just... this text. It's not like Jungkook at all."
"Huh?" she asks. "What does it say? Let me see." You tilt your phone, and she reads the text out loud. "I love you so much. I'm so sorry, you're so beautiful. I don't deserve you."
~14:31~
Jimin watches the two girls as they laugh and smile at each other, Y/N's smile lighting up the mall. Jimin hates the fact that he's not the cause of that smile, and Jungkook can sense it. "Staring at them won't help. Try not to let them notice you," Jungkook whispers. Jimin sighs. As always, his Executive is right. No wonder why he's second in command.
"I'm glad she's smiling," Jimin mutters, sinking into his chair and keeping his eyes on the ground.
"Listen, you know you fucked up and you already apologized. Right now you have to give her some time."
He peers at Jungkook. "Have you and her ever been in any fights?"
Jungkook dryly chuckles. "More than I can count. We only had one bad one. I was trying to convince her to get away from her house when she blew up at me. Told me her family life is her business, not mine. I blew up twice as hard. Long story short, we didn't talk for two whole weeks. I'd say she comes back to talk to you in five days tops. That's just how she is, she needs some space. She'll want to forget about it for a little while. Everyone has different methods. Mine is addressing the problem head on, but hers is calming down and thinking about it first."
Although Jungkook is trying to comfort him, it isn't working. Jungkook's phone dings, and he jumps in shock. Jimin sees Y/N holding her phone and snickering, making him concerned. The man pulls out his phone and sees a text from Y/N. Jimin peeks over his shoulder, his eyes widening once the message loads. Y/N sent a picture of herself wearing a blue dress. The text below the picture says 'thoughts?'.
"Choose your words wisely, Jeon," Jimin says.
Jungkook chuckles, then hands the phone to him. "Yeah no, I'm not risking it. You reply."
"Wha- me?" Jimin exclaims.
"Don't be a pussy, text her."
"I thought the whole point of today was to get my mind off of this whole situation," Jimin says.
"Well she won't know it's you texting her."
"That doesn't make me feel any better."
Jungkook offers him a soft smile. "Listen, I know you want to text her. This is your chance without her ignoring you." As much as he hates to admit it, Jungkook's right... again. He's losing count of how many times Jungkook has been right.
He sighs, peeking down at the text when Jungkook goes still. "What-" Jimin turns around in time to see Seulgi staring at them. She frowns, looking at the phone in Jimin's hand. Jungkook mouths, "please," to her, and she reluctantly nods. She turns back, distracting Y/N as quickly as possible.
"Alright, now send your text," Jungkook says. Jimin bites his lower lip, his thumbs struggling to touch the keyboard as he thinks of what to say. So, he says his true thoughts. He types the words in, looking over the text. Jungkook reads it and sighs. "She'll probably think I'm crazy."
"You are," Jimin replies, trying to bring some humor to the situation.
"If that's what you want to send, go ahead. I won't stop you." Jimin takes another few seconds, letting out small breaths before finally hitting send. He hands the phone back to Jungkook. The Executive's surprised by Jimin's sudden movements, but doesn't comment. Instead, he takes his phone and shoves it into his back pocket. "Come on, let's get you some ice cream," Jungkook says.
"Yeah, yeah maybe that will help."
"I'm sorry, this was supposed to be a fun day."
"You didn't know she'd be here, it's not your fault. Being here with you is helping, so please don't apologize," Jimin says. The universe is laughing at Jimin's suffering, for some reason. Instead of a fun day, of course Jikook go to the one place Y/N is. Of course.
Jungkook wraps an arm around Jimin's shoulder. "Don't worry, I know her. Believe it or not, I know her better than you. Everything will work out."
"As long as I don't fuck up again," Jimin mumbles.
"Jimin." The man peeks at Jungkook. "Relationships aren't easy. Think about your first fight, how mad at her were you?"
"Pretty mad."
"How about when you fought over her sleeping in the same bed as me?" Jungkook asks.
Jimin sighs. "She told you about that?"
"She tells me everything, I'm her best friend, remember?"
"The gay best friend," Jimin jokes, letting out a dry chuckle that Jungkook returns.
"Remember how mad you were at her?"
"Yeah..."
"The point is, she's going to fuck up. You're going to fuck up. It goes both ways. People have fights. Especially when you see each other all the time."
Jimin takes a moment, processing Jungkook's words. "Yeah, as always, you're right."
Jungkook snickers. "As much as I'd love to rub that in your face, I know this is serious for you. As long as you and her still love each other, you can get through anything. Do you still love her?"
Jimin doesn't even hesitate. "I told you, I'm going to marry her. I love this woman with every cell in my fucking body."
"Dramatic much?"
"Says the one wearing an engagement ring." Jungkook gets flustered, instinctively looking down at the piece of jewelry. "I'm happy for you, you know that?" Jungkook offers Jimin a bunny smile, still flustered.
"Yeah. Yeah Min, I know."
"Ah, now you're even calling me the same name she does. No wonder why you two are best friends." Jungkook gives his Captain a squeeze, then his phone dings. Jungkook sighs and brings it out. Jimin glances over his shoulder and frowns once he sees the message.
"I love you too Bunny, is everything okay? Did you do something I don't know about?"
Jungkook peeks at Jimin for a moment. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make it awkward for you to reply," Jimin sheepishly says.
"This is easy. I'll say I thought I did something since she didn't answer my texts." Jimin goes still. That's a great idea. How did he score such a smart Executive Officer? Not to mention he's hot too. Actually, scratch that, the entire crew is hot. Jungkook sends the text and puts it in his pocket for good. "So, ice cream?" Jungkook asks. Jimin laughs, then nods.
"Yeah, ice cream."
~18:21~
Taehyung watches Baby waddle across the room, lapping up the water. Jungkook texted him saying they'd be home soon, which was twenty minutes ago. He refuses to get worried, deciding to instead focus on the cute little puppy. She's been a little energetic, but nothing Tae can't handle. He actually played ball with her for an hour. He threw it outside, and she brought it right back. He's amazed with how much energy one bundle of fur can have.
"Baby?" Tae asks. The girl gulps down her water and looks up at her uncle, smiling at him. "Hey girl, can you come here?" She does. Baby comes over, and Tae picks her up. "Who's a good girl?" The dog yelps in response. "Do you want a treat?" Another excited yelp. "I bet mommy and daddy always spoil you with treats, don't they?" he asks as he brings her over to the fridge. Jimin and Y/N are totally the type of parents to spoil the fuck out of her. He snickers to himself as he eyes the treats on top of the fridge. Due to his tall frame, he's easily able to grab the treats with one hand, holding Baby steady with the other.
"Alright, I have no idea what this is, but it looks good." He places Baby on the counter, her small body absolutely adorable. Tae opens the bag and reaches inside. Baby's eyes sparkle as she pants, her tongue sticking out cutely. "Oh my God, I want a dog now. What should I name my dog if I get one, huh Baby?" The dog looks at him with amusement. He softly smiles and hands the treat to her. She's been a good enough girl, she doesn't need to do any tricks for the treat. She deserves it for being so damn cute.
She chews the small treat and easily finishes it. "Want to go out with me?" he asks, and she bounces in excitement. "Yes! Come on Baby, let's go!" He grabs her again and darts outside, laughing before placing her in the grass. She jumps as if signaling him to chase her. And he does. He's not a heartless bastard. Who could say no to literally the cutest thing in existence behind Jungkook?
Taehyung chases Baby around the yard, purposely going slower so Baby can rush away. One day that puppy will be faster than Jungkook and Taehyung combined. Until then, she's getting used to running on her tiny paws. Tae giggles as the puppy crouches down, her floppy tail wagging. "You're the cutest. Wait until your daddy hears about how good you were being today, he'll be so proud of you," Tae says. The dog seems to get the message since she barks excitedly. "Go girl go!" he calls, rushing towards her.
She jumps off, running away as Tae chases. "Get back here!" he playfully yells, speeding up. She speeds up too, leaving Tae in the dust. "No fair!" He pouts, slowing to a stop. Baby notices and turns around. Tae offers her a smile that she's eager to return. She bounces back over, licking at his shoes. However, after only a few moments, the dog lights up and starts sprinting in the opposite direction. "Baby?" Tae asks, following where she's going with his eyes.
She runs back to the backdoor, where Jimin is standing. Tae smiles, heading over to the two reunited family members. "Hey Baby! Daddy missed you so so much," Jimin says, swooping the girl up in his arms. She licks his face rapidly, causing Jimin to giggle. "I missed you too, I know I know." Taehyung stands not too far behind him, watching as Jungkook steps out as well. Tae's fiancé walks over to him, giving the boy a quick peck.
"How was she? Any problems?" Jimin asks, still petting the dog rapidly.
"Oh she's an absolute sweetheart. Literally the cutest thing I've laid my eyes on other than Jungkook."
"Good answer," Jungkook says with a smirk, kissing the top of Tae's head.
"I'm glad to hear that." Jimin turns to Baby. "Such a good girl, I love you," he murmurs, scratching the girl's cheeks.
"You realize how much he treats her like a daughter?" Jungkook whisper-asks, making sure Jimin can't hear him.
"Yeah, why?" Tae asks.
"Well, I don't know. She's a dog, not a human."
"Dude, his girlfriend left him. Give him a break." Jungkook shrugs but agrees. At the end of the day, owning a pet is like owning a child. Tae can't imagine how much Baby means to Jimin. Especially now since Y/N's gone. It's like in his grief he at least has someone to share his pain. Tae can't help but sympathize with him. He doesn't know the details of what happened between Y/N and Jimin, but Jungkook gave Tae a look that said 'yeah, Jimin done fucked up'.
"Well, it was nice hanging out with you today. Tae and I have a few things we need to do while there's still light left. Get some sleep, okay?" Jungkook says.
Jimin looks up, keeping Baby close. "I'll sleep better tonight than I did yesterday, that's for sure. Thanks, Kook. You too, Tae. I think Baby really likes you."
"I'd hope so!" Tae jokes with a bright smile. "Uncle Tae is gonna be around a lot, so she should get used to me."
The three smile and laugh, taking turns petting Baby before Jungkook practically drags Tae out of Jimin's house. Once they get outside, Jungkook lets out a sigh. "What happened between them?" Tae asks.
"We'll hail a taxi once we get to the city," Jungkook replies instead, trying not to focus on Tae's question.
"Kook? What did they fight about?" Jungkook leads Tae down the grass more and more until they reach a sidewalk before deciding to answer.
"Jimin kind of blew up at her."
"He what?" Tae asks in disbelief. That doesn't sound like Jimin.
"He got angry about a lot of stuff, said some things he shouldn't have like calling her clingy and annoying." Tae feels a spike of rage, then remembers Jimin's puppy eyes and calms down. "She left in the middle of the night, he woke up without her there and broke down. Now fast forward to today. I came to talk to him and he told me his side."
"Did you talk to Y/N?" Tae asks.
"Not yet, but I will. I just... I don't know."
"What is it?"
"I'm torn. I don't think I'm supposed to be picking sides here since neither of them asked me too, but I'm still so mad at Jimin." Tae forces Jungkook to stop. The man looks at him with raised brows.
"You're mad at him?"
"Tae, that woman means so much to me. It's like if someone were to hurt you. I wouldn't be able to function. And it's more than that. What if he triggered her? She spent months getting over her past, the last thing she needs is something to trigger her."
"I understand, but what if the roles were reversed. What if you blew up at me?" Tae asks.
"I'd hate myself." Jungkook's eyes slowly widen.
"See?"
"I know he hates himself a lot right now, but how does someone like... fuck, how do you get so angry that you blow up at someone?" Jungkook asks.
"Well, you got so angry you massacred an entire bridge full of people."
Jungkook goes still. "Well... okay, fair."
"I'm not trying to defend Jimin, I'm just saying that do we really know why he was so angry that day?"
"Something about a combination of his nightmares, the interviews, his stress, and Baekhyun leaving."
Tae frowns. "Jungkook, he's our Captain. We can't even begin to imagine what he's dealing with. At the end of the day, are you going to any interviews? Is anyone else in the crew doing that?" Jungkook goes quiet at that. "He's the one maintaining the crew's image, by himself. All alone he's the one keeping up appearances, holding meetings to discuss our place on Earth, doing interviews and getting asked personal questions, and lord knows what else. Sounds like he has a lot going on right now. Plus, I know how bad his nightmares got. If they're back, then he'll need more than just Y/N's help."
Jungkook doesn't question what Tae means. Instead, he lets out a breath and nods. "Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't be mad at him. This isn't my relationship. I haven't even talked to Y/N yet. I'll be mad if she's mad, how about that?"
"That's the spirit." Jungkook chuckles, placing one hand on Tae's cheek.
"So, what would you say to going out to eat?" Jungkook asks.
Tae reveals a boxy smile, nodding. "I'd love to. Let's do it, Kookie."

Seulgi sighs, picking up Y/N's necklace and staring at it. She's in the shower now, so she took off her promise ring, necklace, and friendship bracelet. In a way, Seulgi's jealous. Happy as hell for her best friend, but jealous. She wishes she had a friendship bracelet with her, she wishes she had a necklace and promise ring from her beloved. At the same time, Jimin and Y/N are at a different stage of their relationship, so it's a little bit of an unfair comparison. Plus, Hoseok gives Seulgi more love than she can imagine. She loves that man more than anything. Truthfully, maybe she should be the one spoiling him with gifts. He's too good for her.
Regardless, she places the rose gold chain down, staring at the key and locket for another moment. She picks up the promise ring next, staring at the material. Jimin has an eye for jewelry, that's for sure. Beautiful. She can't wait to see what wedding ring he chooses. Her mind goes still at the thought of weddings. The crew is going to have one soon. Taehyung and Jungkook are engaged.
The thought makes her heart do a small flip as she smiles and places the promise ring on the nightstand once more. Next is the friendship bracelet. Speaking of Jungkook, here's their bond in material form. Him and Y/N are probably the closest friends Seulgi has ever seen. She's not sure how the hell they're so close, but they are. Seulgi could tell that right when Jungkook showed up, Y/N was on edge. Even back then, when they weren't exactly 'friends', she could tell there was some tension there. She's glad the two made up: more than made up.
Seulgi softly smiles as she looks at the bracelet. Dammit, even she's smiling like an idiot when thinking of Y/N and Jungkook. They're just so cute. Well, so are Jimin and Y/N, but that's obviously not a good topic to think about right now. She's unsure how to feel about their fight. On one hand, Jimin was an asshole. On the other, he probably hates himself more than anything right now and Seulgi can't help but feel bad. She wasn't lying though: Y/N really is doing the right thing. Some space might be exactly what they need.
She places the bracelet down with a sigh. From what she can tell, they haven't fought in months. Or if they have, it's been minor. Maybe she should ask. Or maybe not. Y/N seems happy today, so why ruin that? Regardless, if they've fought, it's been small and nothing huge like this. Relationships have hardships, and the shock of them cause a lot of downfalls. Maybe they just need to get over that shock. They're like four months into their relationship, after all. Well, probably four and a half months, maybe more.
The shower turns off, signaling that Seulgi doesn't have too much longer alone. She stands and decides to get changed as fast as possible. She didn't exactly bring clothes, so she uses a hoodie Y/N brought. The hoodie looks large, but she doesn't care. She throws it on and wears the shorts she came in, slipping out of her shoes and picking up a pamphlet for room service. Seulgi plops on the bed, looking over the menu. The hoodie smells really good. What kind of perfume is Y/N using? Seulgi takes a moment, smelling the sleeves. Wow this girl has good taste. Seulgi needs to find out what she uses to make it smell this good. Like, what the hell? It almost smells homey. It smells faintly of oranges, too.
After a few minutes of browsing through the menu, the bathroom door opens, and Y/N trots out in a towel. She goes straight for the dresser, grabbing some shorts and looking for something. "Whatcha looking for?" Seul asks.
She sighs. "It's stupid, but Jimin's hoodie. I kinda stole it. It's his favorite, don't tell him I have it."
"I won't. And that's not stupid. You may be mad at him, but he's still your boyfriend."
"Yeah, that's true. I... I miss him, Seul. Gosh, what's wrong with me? It's been a day. If I can't even last a day, what will the future hold? What if he has to travel for his future job, or what if he has such a busy schedule I barely see him for a while?"
Seulgi frowns. "I don't know, babes."
"I mean, I just-" She turns around, meeting Seulgi's eyes. She goes still, not speaking.
"What?" Seul asks, furrowing her brows. Y/N's eyes trail over her appearance, making Seulgi light up in understanding. "Oh my God, I'm wearing his hoodie, aren't I?" She slowly nods. "Shit, I'm so sorry I didn't know-"
Y/N laughs, cutting Seulgi off. "Are you serious? It looks cute on you. Plus, when we cuddle tonight. I'll think of Jimin."
Seulgi grimaces. "I'm Jimin now? Ew... that's... ew. Please don't try to kiss me."
She waggles her brows. "I thought you were gay for me."
"I am, but we're both taken! In our next life, I promise."
Y/N snickers, grabbing a plain white t-shirt and dropping the towel. Seulgi places her eyes back on the menu as Y/N changes. Soon enough, another weight is added to the bed. "Do you think the room service is actually good?" Y/N asks, cuddling up next to Seulgi. Gosh, the girl feels so warm. Seulgi can't help but lean into Y/N, keeping one arm wrapped around her. Shit. Seulgi really is Jimin.
"We can find out, right? What do you want?"
"A lifetime supply of chocolate," Y/N says with a sparkle in her eye.
"Oh no, the chocolate cravings. This is bad, we need to order right away." Y/N giggles, playfully smacking Seulgi's chest. "They have dessert, it's your lucky day," Seulgi says. Y/N softly smiles, closing her eyes. Seulgi peers at her, smiling back. She's so precious. So warm and beautiful. If Seulgi thinks this way, she can only imagine what Jimin thinks. She almost wants to text him and see how he's holding up, but that's probably not a great idea. "Hey babes?" She hums. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, when was your last fight with Jimin?" She goes stiff. "You don't have to answer."
"No no, I want to." She peeks up at Seulgi. "A while ago to be honest, like, before our one month anniversary. Remember that one night we partied on Ganymede, we kind of got drunk? Right after the crew fight?"
She takes a moment, then remembers it. "Ohhh yeah, I remember that. Jimin shut down our little party."
"Yeah, he got upset since the wine we drank he was saving for our anniversary."
"Oh wow, now I feel bad."
"Yeah, that's how I felt. He got really upset, so I decided to give him some space and leave for the night. Yeah, that didn't help. He was furious when he found out I spent the night at Jungkook's."
"Jeez, I mean I can get why, but he trusts you right?" Seul asks.
"Very much so. I understand why he was mad, especially since Tae and Kook weren't together yet, but still. I was just upset that he didn't see my perspective."
"How'd you fix it?" Y/N flusters. "What?" Seulgi thinks about it, then starts to catch on. "Are you kidding me? You fucked and made up?"
"Listen! It wasn't supposed to happen it just, uh... you see, I accidentally called him daddy."
"Accidentally?!" Seulgi says, exasperated.
"I don't know, it rolled off my tongue! That was the first time I ever really called him it. He had it coming, okay? He was standing in dim lighting with no shirt and sweatpants on. He was looking like a five course meal."
"I hated every word of that sentence," Seulgi says with a groan.
She snuggles up against Seulgi, giggling like a baby. "Have you and Hoseok had any fights?"
Seulgi shrugs. "Nothing major. Some small nitpicks like him forgetting to make the bed, or me kind of zoning out during conversations."
"You zone out of conversations?"
"Sometimes. I have a bad attention span."
Y/N smiles against Seulgi's shoulder. "I'm glad you two are in a great spot."
"Me too, babes. Me too," Seul whispers, keeping her best friend close. After a minute of silence, Y/N sighs.
"Hey Seul?" She peeks down at the girl. "Thank you for being my friend."
