A/N: I'll save my tears for the end note... thank you so much. Just thank you. Thank you so so much.
If this chapter has more mistakes than the others it's because I can't type/edit if I can't see through my tears
There will be a lot of time skipping in this chapter, but you'll see why...
~Two Years Later || 9:00~
"Ugggh five more minutes..."
"Awww what's this? The Diamond Commander can't get out of bed?" Y/N teases, stroking his hair.
"Nope, not in the slightest," he murmurs, nuzzling up against her more.
"Your brother will be mad at you for being lazy," she urges, but he simply groans.
"Eh," he replies, shaking his head.
"Come on, we have a whole crew to lead."
He kisses her stomach, then comes up to her face, "Do we?"
"A little." He kisses her softly, smiling against her lips. When he pulls back, she smiles too.
"Are you sure?" Y/N gives him an 'are you serious' look that tells him all he needs to know. "Alright alriiight. Jeez looks can kill." He stands, stretching his limbs. She sits up, groaning ever so slightly. "Do you need anything? Water? Extra pillows? Extra blankets? Food? Chocolate? Chips-"
"Min," she softly interrupts, raising a brow. He sighs, turning to face her.
"Yes Yeobo?" She slightly blushes, still flustered by the nickname even after all this time.
"I'm one month in, not eight. I'll be fine until I start showing."
Jimin walks over and kneels, placing both his hands on her thighs. "But still... our little one might be hungry," he teases, kissing her stomach again.
"But what if my lips are hungry?" she asks, waggling her brows.
"For what?"
"For yours."
He snickers, coming up. "Which lips love? You're going to have to be more specific." She playfully whacks his shoulder, earning her a laugh from him.
He places his lips over hers, being careful where he puts his hands. Ever since she said those two words, he's been so careful around her, trying not to overdue it. When he pulls back, she smiles. "Let me get this straight... Irene if it's a girl, Joon if it's a boy?"
He hums, "I think that's cute, don't you?"
"Why Irene?" she asks.
"Hmm I don't know, I think it sounds cute. Did you have something else in mind?"
She trails her hand down her stomach, softly smiling. "Jasmine..."
His heart goes soft, him kissing her again. "I think I like that even more..." he mutters as he pulls away, returning her smile. Of course he keeps caressing her stomach, kneeling in front of it and staring at it in amazement. "My baby is carrying our baby," he remarks, keeping his cute smile as he kisses her stomach again... and again... and again. She laughs, causing him to laugh with her as he comes back up to her face, one hand on her stomach, one hand on her cheek.
She pecks his nose, "Can we go tease the shit out of our best friends now?"
"Oh always," Jimin replies with a wink.
Together, they get changed as fast as possible (with Jimin being paranoid and helping her every step of the way). As soon as they leave, several kids run past them. "Woah, slow down there kiddos! Not on my ship!"
"Sorry Mr. Park!" some of them call back, slowing their pace. Jimin chuckles, holding Y/N's hand and bringing her out of their quarters.
"Where are those bastards?" Jimin mumbles, closing and locking the door behind him.
"Probably making eyes at each other," Y/N mumbles back, shaking her head and clicking her tongue. Jimin smiles. Some things never change. As soon as they enter the greenhouse, they're not surprised to see Jungkook and Taehyung in there, laughing while running around.
"Where are my dogs?" Jimin calls, garnering their attention.
"Baby's playing with our boy, the usual. They're right over there. Not sure where Luna is though," Taehyung says, pointing to the corner of the room.
Baby is playing with Jung-hyun, the two rushing back and forth. "If you hurt my dog you get no sprinkles on your ice cream!" Jimin calls. The young boy turns, eyes lighting up once they meet Jimin's.
"Uncle Min! Aunty Y/N!" he cheers, running over with Baby hot on his tail.
"Hey you little bugger, how've you been?!" Jimin says, kneeling just in time for Jung-hyun to jump into his arms.
He giggles, "Good! Do you know what tomorrow is?"
Jimin chuckles, "I it a certain boy's seventh birthday?"
Jung-hyun keeps giggling, "Maaaybe." Lord Jimin can't wait to have one of his own. Jungkook and Taehyung adopted the right one, that's for sure. Adopted one a little older so they didn't have to change diapers (clever) but young enough to raise him. Perfect. Jimin's almost jealous, but he's happy to wait eight more months for his beautiful boy or girl.
Y/N greets Jung-hyun, then quickly joins Jungkook off on the side. Tae senses that they're having a 'best friend' talk, so Taehyung walks over to Jimin and his son. "Hey bud, can you take Baby over to the other kids? I think they're getting lonely without her."
Jung-hyun lights up, "That's a great idea! We can't have anyone getting lonely."
Tae kisses the top of his head, "I knew I raised you well."
He takes Baby and goes to the other side of the greenhouse, leaving Tae and Jimin alone together. Of course. Tae stands, coming over and taking Jimin's hand, "Let me see how it's healing." Jimin pouts, rotating his arm to reveal his tattoo. "Oh wow, you really do rock tattoos. Gotta hand it to you Captain, you're attractive."
Jimin snickers, "Y/N really likes it. It may be small, but it's powerful."
"I'm sure she says that about your hands too, huh?"
"Always," Jimin replies with a wink, eyeing the '13' tattoo on his wrist.
The scar from the gunshot all those years ago is still there, but the '13' tattoo is above it, out of harm's way. "You really love thirteen, huh?" Taehyung asks with a chuckle, causing Jimin to smile, looking over at Y/N and Jungkook.
"Double meaning: my birthday and the happiest day of my life. Well, second happiest. The first will be the day our child is born."
Taehyung hums, "Kook won't stop getting tattoos. What started as just a few became a whole sleeve. Look at him." Tae motions to Jungkook, his arm completed covered in them - and of course, he's wearing a white t-shirt so they're easy to see.
"Classic Jungkook. Is he having fun with Honey?"
"Oh of course, thank you for letting us dog sit her, she's a sweetheart."
"Where is she, by the way? I figured you'd let her play with Baby and Luna."
"Well Honey is in our room if you want me to go get her?" Tae offers.
"Sure, I'll go look for Luna." Tae dips his head, rushing out of the room as Jimin turns. "Luna! Come!" Almost instantly, a tap of paws against the ground is heard. Soon enough, a golden flash of fur comes closer to him, panting.
"Hey girl," he says with a chuckle, kneeling in front of her. The Golden Retriever licks her snout, looking at him with cute puppy eyes. He rapidly scratches behind her ears, watching as she almost seems to smile at him. "I love you Luna, now go play with Baby and Jung-hyun, okay?" He points, the one-year-old pup following his finger. "Go to Baby! Go on!" She dashes off, her friend greeting her as soon as she arrives.
Jimin chuckles, loving the sight. Getting Baby was a fantastic idea, but getting Luna and Honey was an even better idea. Him and Y/N decided to be the 'dog people' of the ship. The Tokyo, a battleship. Yes - Earth gave him an entire God damn battleship. Now he's living his best life leading a battleship. He oversees patrols on the outer rim, near where the Ring originally was. They go back and forth between Ganymede and Triton, sending resources to the surface.
Even though their life of excitement is over, Jimin is happy and content with how it's going. He's still helping people, that's something he always wanted to do. Forever he can be with his crew, watching as they take big steps in their life. Taehyung and Jungkook are talking about adopting another once they get to Triton. Something about Tae wanting to have a boy from his home, especially since Jung-hyun is from Mars, Jungkook's home. It only makes sense.
Speaking of watching his crew take big steps, the doors open, revealing three people. Sapphire, Seulgi, and Hoseok. "There they are," Jimin murmurs, a teasing smirk on his face. "Let me see it," he says to Sapphire, who blushes. "Come onnnn," he draws out, finally getting the girl to step closer and hold out her left hand. He takes it, eyeing the sparkling silver ring in amazement. "Wow... absolutely gorgeous Saph, I'll never get tired of seeing it. Come here Seul, now we need to compare."
Seulgi laughs, placing her left hand next to Sapphire's. Both of them have big, sparkling silver engagement rings, the sight beautiful to Jimin. "Now it's Jin and Anya's turn. And come on Holgi, you've been engaged for a year now, when's the wedding?" Seulgi blushes while Hoseok sheepishly smiles. "At least Sapphire has an excuse, it's only been two weeks!" Jimin says.
"Soon..." Seulgi mutters.
"Very soon, we're thinking next month. We'll be at Ganymede this time next month, Anya and Sapphire still have a bunch of connections there so they're helping us," Hoseok explains.
Sapphire does a cute salute. "It's hard to book when you don't know the exact date we'll be there, but I have a bunch of friends holding videographers, photographers, venues, and much more for a full week just for them."
"The famous crew," Jimin says, "I'm glad you two are finally doing it. Ganymede though? Why Ganymede rather than Earth?"
"Well, Ganymede is where we got together," Seulgi says, nuzzling up to her fiancé's side.
Hoseok holds her close just as the door opens one more time, revealing Taehyung and Honey. "Honey!" Jimin yells, practically jumping past the other three to kneel. "Come here Honey, daddy missed you so so much." The new puppy comes rushing towards him, yipping at him as she hops into his outstretched arms. "Awww how's my favorite pup doing today? Don't tell Luna I said that." She licks his face in response, earning a chuckle from him.
The Bernese Mountain Dog gives him soft little puppy eyes, panting from excitement. Tae walks over, laughing at the sight. "Really?"
"What? I couldn't resist, you know that," Jimin teases, petting his dog.
"I love Honey more than you Jimin," Sapphire says, kneeling and petting the dog with him.
"Most people do. Even my wife."
"Yeah, we can see that," Seulgi says, still staying with Hoseok.
Jimin looks back at his wife, watching how she laughs with Jungkook. His heart warms at the sight. Although there's over a thousand people on this battleship, it's run by twelve people. The twelve-person crew. Eleven of them are known as the Moonchild crew, but now since Baekhyun's girlfriend, Aurora, is here, they just call themselves the crew. Whenever someone says 'the crew', everyone knows who they're talking about. Park Jimin's crew. Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, Baekhyun, Y/N, Sapphire, Seulgi, Anya, and Aurora. Jimin lets out a breath as he looks around the colorful greenhouse, watching Baby and Luna play with Taekook's son. Jimin can't stop the smile that stretches across his lips. He made it. He really, really did.
~9:13~
"How's Little Park doing?"
She smiles, "Amazing..."
Jungkook watches as she traces a hand across her stomach as if trying to feel her baby bump. "It'll probably take some more time babe."
Y/N snickers, "I know that Bun, but you can't blame a girl for trying."
He chuckles, placing both his hands on her stomach. "I can't believe you're actually having a child... we're doing a gender reveal party, right?"
"Are you kidding? Jimin looks for any excuse to drink. Of course we'll have a party, but the gender of the baby is probably the least of our concerns."
He laughs, "Yeah we'll probably be too caught up with going ballistic. I can't wait for Holgi to get pregnant... sigh..."
"Did you just say sigh out loud?"
"Is that an issue?"
"Maybe," she replies with a wink.
Jungkook giggles, "Okay but I need you to promise me something."
"Hm?"
"No matter what, I'll always be your baby."
She smiles brightly, pinching one of his cheeks. "Of course, you, Tae, and Jimin are my three babies forever. No matter how many kids Jimin and I have, you three will always be the original babies."
"You'll love me more than your children, right?"
"Let's not push it, do you love me more than Jung-hyun?"
"That's not fair," he replies with a pout, looking over at his son.
"Well what you asked wasn't fair either," she says with amusement, turning to look at the young boy. "How's he doing?" she asks, causing Jungkook to break out into a dumb smile.
"There's this guy... I think he might like him."
"Jungkook, he's six."
"So?"
Y/N giggles, "You really think he knows what liking someone means?"
"No, but he's been getting close to him recently. His name is Gale."
"Gale? That's a name no one's used since the 2100s."
"Don't ask me, all I know is that I think my boy might like him. He blushes a lot around him, not to mention he stutters and gets all cute. He might be young, but he's pretty smart."
"How can he not be? He has smart parents."
Jungkook softens, turning to her. He places both his hands on her stomach again, kneeling slowly. She stares in shock as he gently kisses her stomach, giving it precious eyes. "Hey little one... Uncle Kook is here. I know we haven't met yet, but I love you so so much. You're gonna grow up being like the most attractive person in the system. I mean really, you have great genes." Y/N breaks out laughing, him joining in.
"You're the luckiest bastard in the galaxy, you know that? I can't wait to tell the tales of how horny your mommy and daddy are..." She glares at him, causing him to chuckle. "When you're old enough, of course."
"Jeon Jungkook!"
He giggles, nearly falling over from his constant noises. Honestly, he's the one who sounds like a baby right now. "Please don't be as horny as them. Or if you are - don't be as vocal about it as they are. Your childhood is going to be sex jokes and hearing your daddy whine for alcohol."
She lets out a long sigh. "You're a terrible example Jeon."
He winks at her, "I try." Him and her lock eyes for a few moments, and all his emotions swell at once. Just being here... in front of her... being able to see her stomach, knowing she's having a child? It's amazing. Absolutely amazing. He rubs her stomach longingly, letting his eyes fall back onto it as he breathes heavily, thinking of the future.
"Whether I end up calling you buddy or princess, I can't wait to meet you." He keeps rubbing her stomach, smiling like an idiot, "I can't wait to babysit you when your mommy and daddy want a vacation... I can't wait to take you to baseball games and get ice cream afterwards... I can't wait to have you meet my husband and son... I can't wait to watch you grow up into your own beautiful person. A person I'll love even more than myself. So come out safely Little Park, okay?"
"I love you Jungkook," she whispers as he stands, placing both his hands on her cheeks.
"I love you too sweetheart, you're everything to me. I'm so glad I can be around for this. I'm glad I was Jimin's best man, and I'm glad I was by his side while he was signing the contract to his gorgeous battleship."
"Diamond Commanders... they get all the perks, huh?"
"And as the wife of the only one in the system, you get to enjoy those perks."
"You're amazing, you know that?"
He brings her into a hug, letting out a long sigh. "Yeah... yeah I know. I get it from you. Remember all those years on Ganymede? God that feels like centuries ago now..."
"It definitely does. I mean really, if the crew has been together for four years... how long ago does that put our Ganymede time together?"
"At least six years ago... wow. Maybe seven, eight years ago we met for the first time..."
She pulls back, meeting his eyes. "You're my soulmate forever Jeon, you know that?"
He softly smiles, placing his forehead on hers, their friendship bracelets connecting, "I know..."
~Flashback ~ Two Weeks Ago~
"Hey Jimin?"
He goes still, staring at her in shock. "Uh... yes dear?"
She sadly smiles. "Can we talk?"
His blood goes cold at that. "Did something happen? Did I do something wrong?"
"No, of course not, I just want to tell you something."
He watches as she turns, starting to walk away. Taehyung looks at him in concern. "Um I would ask if everything's okay, but you don't look like you know either."
Jimin shakes his head, giving Tae a small pat on the shoulder, "I don't. If Jung-hyun is back before I am, tell him Aunty Y/N had to talk to me."
He hums, "Good luck big bro."
"It's only by a couple months aish," Jimin whines, causing Taehyung to chuckle.
"Get going, she's staring."
Jimin does a small salute before following after his wife, the nervousness starting to set in. "Baby are you sure I did nothing wrong?" he asks as he approaches her.
"You did nothing Min." Okay, there's a nickname. Doesn't change the fact that she said his name though.
"I can't even remember the last time you called me my name. Are you sure?"
She sadly smiles again, "I'm sure. I promise. I just uh... I'm scared."
As soon as they reach their quarters, he stares at her with his brows creased. "Scared?"
She hesitates, then opens the door. "Inside?" He hums, walking in the room and closing the door behind them, even locking it for good measure. She motions to the bed. "You might want to sit for this." He raises a brow but doesn't question it as he plops his big ass down on the bed, peeping up at her curiously.
"Babe, you're freaking me out. Are you okay?"
She fiddles with her fingers, pacing back and forth. "You can do this Y/N it's just two words... he's your damn husband it should be easy to say this... come on Y/N do it..."
"Are you hyping yourself up in third person in front of me?"
She goes still, "I said that out loud?"
He chuckles, nodding. "You were pretty loud too."
She lets out a sigh, "Dammit. Okay. Two words. Come on."
"Two words?" Jimin asks, "baby are you okay?"
"Um..."
Jimin's eyes widen, "Who hurt you? Do I need to beat someone up? Did one of the kids mess with you? Did something pop up on the scanners? Who insulted you? Whoever insulted my wife is getting a damn grave that's for sure. What do I need to-"
"I'm pregnant." Jimin shuts up immediately, staring at her. He stares for a few moments with his mouth hanging open, blinking.
"I'm sorry, what did you just say?" he whisper-asks, unsure if what he heard was real or not.
"I'm pregnant," she shyly repeats, glancing at the ground. She gets flustered, playing with her fingers. For a few moments, neither of them speak. Then, the words process in Jimin's brain, and everything looks like rainbows around him. The entire room seems to burst into the brightest colors humanly possible as an indescribable happiness fills his body.
"YESSSSS!" he screeches, jumping up and hugging her. He laughs, spinning her around as she lets out a 'woah' noise, surprised by his sudden demeanor. He giggles as he sets her back down, placing both his hands on her cheeks. "You're pregnant?"
"Very."
He pecks her nose... then her cheek... then her forehead... then her lips. Jimin kisses all over her face, caressing her skin. "My baby is pregnant," he murmurs, guiding them to sit back on the bed. She laughs at his cuteness, looking at his starry eyes with love and admiration. "Is this actually happening?" he whispers, peeking up at her. She nods, softly smiling. "I'm gonna be a dad?" Again - she nods, her smile widening. He playfully pushes her back against the bed, her giggling as he hovers over her, his face inches away from hers.
"I'm gonna be a dad..." he mutters before kissing her. She kisses back, her hands going for his hair as always. The kiss is short and sweet, and when he pulls back, he instantly goes down. He keeps his face in front of her stomach, placing both his hands on the sides of her. "I'm gonna be a fucking dad!"
"Language!" she whines, causing him to chuckle.
"Right, have to work on that if we're having a baby. That and my love of alcohol... and sex..."
Y/N giggles, playfully whacking his shoulder. "On the bright side, it's totally worth it to have a little Park running around."
He snickers, kissing her stomach. "A little Park... I love it. You're pregnant... oh my God you're pregnant!" He jumps up, causing Y/N to look at him funny.
"Min where are you-" Before she can even finish her sentence, he dashes out of the room, cheering as he rushes down the halls.
Some of the common folk look at him funny, but he only keeps going. "I'M GONNA BE A DAD!" he yelps, causing them to light up in understanding, many clapping while others shout their congratulations.
Jungkook turns down the corner, looking puzzled at the commotion. "Uh... Captain, care to tell me-"
"SHE'S PREGNANT!" he yells, interrupting poor Jungkook. The man's eyes widen, then he cheers with Jimin, the two hugging and laughing.
"Wait what?" Tae's voice calls.
"Y/N's pregnant!" Jimin calls back, squeezing his eyes shut as he hugs Jungkook. Another weight gets added to the hug, Taehyung giggling like a baby as he joins in.
"I'm so happy for you Jimimi!"
"I'm letting that nickname slide since I'm ecstatic right now!" Jimin jumps away from them, going up to the nearest comm panel and setting it to play on every one in the ship. "Good afternoon everyone, this is Commander Park speaking, I'd like to announce that my wife, Y/N Park, is pregnant. I'm gonna be a dad!" Jimin squeals, instantly hearing a chorus of cheers from down the hall and from on the panel. There's a lot of 'congratulations' being thrown out, Jimin giggling as Y/N herself comes walking down the hall, softly smiling at him.
Jungkook rushes over to her, the two briefly hugging. "I'm gonna be Uncle Kook?" Jungkook asks, her laughing in response.
"Yes Bun, you're gonna be Uncle Kook. Your husband will be Uncle Tae." Tae beams, coming over and giving her a gentle hug. Jimin comes over last, watching in amazement as she pulls away from Taehyung. "Come here you big goof," she says, motioning for Jimin to hug her again.
He does, bringing her up against his chest as he sighs, the excitement coursing through his veins. "We're gonna be parents..." he murmurs, her giggling at his words.
"Yeah babe, the horniest parents in the system."
He chuckles, kissing the top of her head, "I love you."
She peeks up at him, smiling brightly. "I love you too... I can't wait for you to be the father of our child..."
~Present || 12:33~
"You're insane."
"You're not getting out of this Yoons, every time you always have an excuse but not today."
Yoongi sighs as he shoots his girl an apologetic smile. Sapphire simply shrugs, chuckling as Jimin drags him away. "Okay seriously, why right now?"
"Because if I do it any other time you'll refuse. Middle of the day, maybe you can sleep during it who knows."
Yoongi shakes his head, "You'll yell at me if I sleep."
"Okay fair, but I'm saying anything to convince you Yoons. It's been years, come on, this had to happen eventually," Jimin urges.
Oh well, looks like Yoongi isn't getting out of this. Jimin drags him inside one of the personal theatres, this one empty probably since Jimin is the damn Commander so he can do whatever he wants. "And what exactly are we watching?" Yoongi asks.
"Literally everything. From the most iconic movies of all time to the old classics to my personal favorites."
"I don't want to see your personal favorites," Yoongi grumbles.
Jimin pouts, "Why not?"
"They probably have sex in them."
"A lot of it, actually," Jimin proudly chimes, causing Yoongi to scrunch up his face in disgust. "Kidding. I save those movies for when Y/N's around."
"But Muffin's pregnant-"
"Before that of course," Jimin interrupts, softly smiling as he pulls Yoongi up the stairs. They make it to the top, plopping down once they reach the middle.
"Who's running the projector?"
"Who do you think?" Jimin huffs.
"Jungkook and Taehyung?" Yoongi asks.
"They're probably making out which is why nothing's playing yet," Jimin says. Jimin turns on his comm, changing the frequency. "Yo Koo!"
"I told you only Mrs. Park can call me that!" Jungkook's voice hisses back, "this is the eighth time this week you've tried, but it's never going to work!"
"Can't blame me for trying. Play the first movie... Jungkook."
"That's better," Jungkook snickers, shutting off his comm.
Yoongi leans back in the comfy seat, raising a brow as the screen flickers on, what he assumes are the opening credits playing. "What's this?" Yoongi whisper-asks.
Jimin reaches over to the seat next to him, bringing a bag forward. "Sherlock. There's a million of them, so I just chose the most recent one. Came out twelve years ago, saw it as a teen."
Yoongi raises a brow at the bag in his hand. "And what's that?"
"Seriously Yoons, you don't know what popcorn is? Jesus you're hopeless," Jimin replies with a sigh, pointing the bag in Yoongi's direction.
He cautiously takes a kernel, popping it into his mouth. "I know what it is, I've just never had it."
"At least after seeing this you'll understand what I mean when I say 'no shit Sherlock'."
He glances at Jimin. "Sorry, I don't think I'll ever understand you no matter how many movies you show me."
"Dammit," Jimin mutters with a pout, "can't blame me for trying."
"No, I guess I can't."
They get a few moments of quiet when another enters the event. "What the hell is going on in here?" a male voice calls, a figure walking into the theatre.
"Byun get up here! We're having a movie marathon to educate Yoongi's dumb ass!" Jimin calls to the man. Baekhyun shrugs, walking up the stairs slowly. "Woah woah, need some help bud?" Jimin says, hopping out of his seat. Yoongi sighs, taking the bag of popcorn from Jimin as the Commander rushes over to the Pilot, offering him his hand. Baekhyun takes it, coming up the last remaining stairs.
He pants. "Sorry, still not used to them."
"No no, don't apologize, prosthetics take a while to get used to. It's only been a year, the doctor said it would take... how long again? Three?"
"Four," Baekhyun corrects, "four until I'm completely comfortable. I might even be able to run again."
"Well let's not push it." Jimin chuckles, helping Baekhyun sit.
"I'm glad to be able to move at all," Baekhyun says, tracing his fingers up and down his legs.
"We are too, now you can go back to piloting without fear," Jimin replies. Yoongi softly smiles, watching as the opening scene plays.
"Is this the bad one?"
"Most of them are bad Byun, but they're fun as fuck so who cares?" Jimin says with a small laugh, shaking his head.
"What's the next movie?" Yoongi asks, Jimin shrugging.
"I might just switch to music videos and show you 'What Is Love'. What a classic and you don't know it. My parents were always suckers for the really old stuff, I'll have to get you into it."
Yoongi sighs, watching the main characters closely. "Okay I wasn't paying attention, which one's Sherlock again?" Yoons says, looking at Jimin. Jimin simply lets out a breath.
"This is gonna be a long day..."
~15:27~
Jin paces back and forth, biting his nails. Nervous is an understatement. How is he supposed to do this? He runs a hand through his brown locks, ruffling them slightly. He's in her room right now, waiting for her to get back from her individual work. Jin got back early since, of course, the Tokyo is in perfect shape so he wasn't needed (not to mention there's hundreds of other engineers on board).
Being Chief Engineer is a lot easier than it sounds. He just shows up, gets a report, helps here and there, gives an assignment to his subordinates, then leaves. Only downside is, if literally the smallest thing goes wrong, he gets commed. Every. Single. Time. A wire pulled? Jin knows. A screw loose? Jin knows. A panel door needs oil? Jin fucking knows. He makes reports all the time for the smallest inconveniences. It's annoying, but better than inhaling those fumes from the tools. Jin is trying to live until he's two-hundred, those fumes are bad for his lungs.
Engineers normally have the shortest life spans, which isn't a surprise. The average life expectancy in the system is like a hundred and seventy now, much higher than previous years thanks to the medicine and doctors Earth is providing to the rest of the civilizations.
Anya on the other hand is in the complete opposite field. She's Lead Researcher, what a shocker. Heads the science team. Ever since they boarded the Tokyo, she's been in charge of the research on Pluto. They've been there a few times, the soldiers and scientists would go to the surface while everyone else would pretend they aren't at the most mysterious place in the system.
Jimin is obviously the Commander, Y/N the Head Pilot, Jungkook the Executive, Yoongi the Head of Communications, Sapphire is Chief of Medicine with Hoseok as her little Executive, Baekhyun is Chief Coordinator (he oversees the production of new ships), Seulgi is Lead Navigator, Aurora is in charge of citizen life, and Taehyung is surprisingly the Head of Agriculture. Turns out that dream he had back on Triton, to help his grandparents farm? Yeah, he made it come true. He retired from being an agent to instead oversee everything that happens in the multiple greenhouses throughout the ship. Jin's proud of him to say the least.
Before he can delve deeper into his thoughts, the door opens, revealing a tired Anya. "Hey darling, tough day?"
"Mm," she hums, shrugging as she closes the door behind her, "still have to go back, but I have a bit. Like twenty minutes? Supposed to be eating but I'm not hungry."
Jin pouts, coming over to her. "Do you want me to make you something really quickly?" Their 'quarters' are more like whole ass apartments. Similar to the apartments on Ganymede, but not quite as big. They have a small kitchen, a small bathroom, and a bed. The kitchen and 'bedroom' are connected, so it's nothing special, but it's enough for the two of them. They don't need much more space.
"I'll be okay, I'll just grab a protein bar or something before I go. I want to relax for a few minutes."
Jin softly smiles, pecking her forehead. "Okay hon, you sit, I have to grab something for you."
"You have something for me?" she asks, knitting her brows together.
"A gift," he clarifies, causing her to hum.
"I'll never say no to that. Although please note that if it's a cardboard cutout of yourself, I'm breaking up with you."
He laughs, "God I love you... no, it's not that. I think you'll like this even more."
"Setting the bar real high, huh?"
He chuckles, giving her a cocky smile before walking into the kitchen. "No peeking!" he calls.
She sighs, sitting on the bed and placing her hands over her eyes. "Is this good enough?"
"Very much so," he replies, going over to the kitchen table. He takes his jacket from off one of the chairs, wrapping it around himself. Oh God this is really about to happen. Jesus Christ he's doing this.
Jin grabs the bouquet of flowers he placed out of sight in the corner of the room, walking back over to her and diming the lights. He sighs, letting out a shaky breath. "Okay, you can open them now." She moves her hands away from her face, blinking her eyes open. The new lighting takes her for surprise, but she quickly recovers, her orbs landing on the roses he's holding.
"Roses?" she asks as he hands them to her. He nods, her taking them. She softly smiles. "Is it our anniversary?"
"No, just felt like getting you some flowers."
Her soft smile turns into a big one. "Jinnie... this is... this is so thoughtful-" She cuts off when he gets down on one knee, causing her to go still.
"I'm not much of a wordsmith... but I think I should have done this like, what? A year ago? I'm a little behind, so let's make up for lost time, yeah?" She keeps staring at him with her mouth wide open, her eyes expanding more by the second as he chuckles. "This may be a little rushed or all of a sudden, but I want you to know how much you mean to me."
"Seokjin-"
"I know, I know. You aren't the biggest fan of the overdramatic, sappy stuff... but you deserve it every once in a while."
She blinks in shock, unsure of what to say. "We've been together for what? Almost four years? I think we're ready for this step Ani, I really, really do. Not to mention the crew won't get off my ass about it." She laughs, him relaxing ever so slightly at the sound. "Anya... you're the love of my life. I wish I could do this under the moonlight on Ganymede, but I think roses and dim lighting while in our new home works too."
Anya giggles. "It does Jin... it does..." He smiles, his heart relived by her words. Jin pulls out the ring box, sucking in a deep breath before opening it. "Oh my God... it's beautiful," she whispers, placing both her hands over her mouth.
"A beautiful ring for a beautiful girl," he teases, causing her to shake her head.
"I'm letting that cheesy joke go, just this once..." she murmurs, keeping her eyes on the silver.
"Anya, I mean it, you're the love of my life. These past few years with you were the best I've ever had. There's no one I'd rather be with right now. Anya Forester, I love you... will you do me the honor of marrying me?"
"Hell yeah!" she cheers immediately, causing Jin to smile. Truthfully, he should have done this a while ago, but better late than never, right?
She kneels in front of him, holding out her left hand for him to slide the ring onto her finger. As soon as the metal hits the bottom of her finger, they hug, him practically tossing the box away as she sniffles, softly crying against his shoulder. It's a big target after all.
"I love you too Jinnie. I can't wait to marry you," she mumbles, pulling back after a few moments. Of course, he can't help himself: he kisses her gently. The kiss is so precious it honestly scares him a little. Since when are Anya and Jin gentle let alone this gentle? Regardless, he focuses on kissing her, enjoying the feeling of her lips on his. He could die happy, that's for damn sure.
When they part, Jin jumps up, holding out his hand. "You have about fifteen minutes, right?"
She furrows her brows, taking his hand and standing. "Yeah, why?"
"Why? We have to show off our engagement to the world honey! Galaxywide handsome, remember? Everyone wants to know about my love life."
"I regret my decision-"
"Too late!" Jin interrupts, pulling her out of the room. Several workers are outside, but he ignores them. The crew gets to know first. He finds Hoseok and Seulgi together (of course), the pair eating in the dining hall. "HOLGI!" Jin yelps, the two jumping, snapping their heads up. The other people in the area wince, groaning at Jin's loud intrusion. "WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!" he yells, holding up Anya's left hand triumphantly.
"HELL YEAH!" Seulgi calls, jumping up and rushing over to the pair. She sweeps Anya up in her arms, spinning her around like she weighs nothing. Holy shit Seulgi's strong.
Hoseok comes over and gently hugs Jin, knowing that Jin will kill him if he tries what his girl is doing. "Congratulations, I'm so proud of you," he whispers, Jin nodding his thanks.
"Looks like Baekhyun and Aurora are the only pair not engaged yet, now can you stop making fun of me?"
"We still will, it took you a million years to do it," Hoseok grumbles, Jin chuckling in response.
"Where are the others?" Jin asks as he pulls back, Hoseok shrugging.
"Taehyung and Jungkook are probably making out, Baekhyun, Jimin, and Yoongi are still in the theatre, and the rest? No clue."
"Theatre, got it. Thanks Hobi." Seulgi keeps squealing, her and Anya bouncing up and down, their arms still wrapped around each other. "I know this is an emotional moment, but we don't have much time," Jin urges with a pout.
"Ugh, fine, but we're celebrating over dinner later," Seulgi threatens, causing Anya to nod.
"We'll be there," she replies, entwining her hand with Jin's again.
"Let's go, shall we?" he asks, and she hums, letting Jin guide her out of the room. He easily navigates down the hall, finding the theatre rather quickly. They burst inside, surprised to hear loud music.
"WHAT IS LOVE! BABY DON'T HURT ME! DON'T HURT ME, NO MORE!"
"I hate you."
"Found Jimin and Yoongi," Jin mumbles, Anya giggling as they round the corner. The stairs come into view, the music blasting from the speakers, the old music video playing on the big screen. "Let's do this as quickly as possible," Jin says, Anya rapidly nodding in agreement.
Jin goes up the stairs, finding the three boys all huddled in the middle of the top row, laughing like idiots. Even the Min Yoongi is laughing. What the hell? Must be a great day all around for the crew. Jin clears his throat as loudly as he can, gaining the attention of the other three boys. "Jin? Anya? Came to join the movie marathon?" Jimin asks with a giggle, the other two boys giggling with him. Okay what the fuck?
"No, we came to announce something, if you could turn that off?" Jin asks, pointing to the screen.
"Rude," Jimin groans, bringing his comm to his lips. "Tae, Jungkook, if you two aren't making out can you pause for a minute? Jin and Anya have an announcement."
There's a few beats of silence. "We were making out, we only stopped since I heard Jin, Anya, and announcement in the same sentence," Jungkook's voice replies, the video pausing mere seconds after he speaks. "Hang on, we'll be down in a minute."
"They're probably getting changed," Baekhyun comments, the other four in the room nodding in agreement.
Soon enough, Jungkook and Tae come up to them, out of breath. "Are you sure you were just making out?" Yoongi asks, motioning to Taehyung's messy hair.
"I don't feel comfortable answering that question," Jungkook replies, then, he turns to Jin, "what's this 'announcement'?"
Anya waves her left hand, her ring sparkling. Instantly everyone is on their feet, cheering as a group hug quickly forms. "FINALLY!" "CONGRATS!" "YESSS!" The group keeps yelling, jumping up and down. Even poor Baekhyun with his new enhanced legs is jumping. The machines attached to his legs creak as he moves, causing Jin to sigh. He deserved better, but at least he's alive. That's what matters.
"Where's Saph?" Anya asks as they dial down.
"Last I checked in her room," Yoongi says with a shrug.
"How much time you got?" Jin asks.
Anya checks her watch, sighing. "Twelve minutes."
"Should we hurry?"
Anya nods, "Don't want to be late. I want to be there in like eight minutes."
"Alright, then let's do it. You guys okay here?"
"Are you kidding? We'll be celebrating in your honor," Jungkook says. By that he probably means making out, but Jin doesn't bring that up.
Anya gives them a grateful look. "Thank you guys, we'll see you later?"
"Of course," Baekhyun replies, everyone saying their quick goodbyes before Jin pulls her away.
They quickly depart the theatre, Anya leading the way. Yeah, she knows the way to Sapphire's room by heart. Jin wordlessly follows, the two bumping into a lot of people in their rush. Do they care? No. All that matters is telling Anya's best friend about the big news.
Eventually, they actually do make it to the outside of Sapphire's room, about eight minutes left. Looks like they can't linger, Anya will need a good five minutes to get back to the lab. Anya lets out a small breath, stepping up to the door. "Prepare for squealing," Anya warns, Jin nodding.
"I expect it by now," Jin replies. Anya knocks on the door, shaking ever so slightly. "She's gonna flip out," Jin whispers, Anya chuckling.
"Oh I know... I know she'll always support me, but I still feel nervous. We're taking a big step. A huge one and... I think it's just sinking in now how big a step it is."
Jin nods in understanding. "Whatever happens, we'll handle it together."
Before Anya can respond, the door opens, revealing a startled Sapphire. "Um... hi?" Sapphire asks, raising a brow.
"Hey... we have something to tell you," Jin starts, but Anya is quick to step forward. He knows she'll want to say those words, so he backs off, deciding to instead softly smile and just watch it happen.
"So uh..." Anya whispers, not sure where to start.
"Everything okay?" Sapphire asks, concerned.
She moves closer, clearly trying to read Anya's mind. "Don't faint?"
"Don't faint? Jin, what's going on with your girlfriend?"
"You see, that's the thing Saph, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore," Anya blurts out, turning red.
Sapphire blinks, then, slowly turns to Jin. "You motherfucker."
"I know, I took too long-"
"I'LL RIP YOUR HEAD OFF!" Anya grabs Sapphire before she gets the chance. "I'LL CLAW YOUR EYES OUT KIM SEOKJIN!"
"No Saph! We're engaged!" Anya yelps.
Sapphire instantly calms down, letting out a breath. "Holy shit you scared me." She takes a moment, then snaps her head back to look at Anya, eyes wide. "WAIT YOU'RE FUCKING ENGAGED?!" Anya laughs as she nods, Sapphire squealing at the top of her lungs, bringing her best friend into a hug.
"AH! Congratulations!" she squeaks, unable to contain her giddiness. "Oh my God my best friend is getting married!" she yells, Anya letting out a small sigh.
"Yeah Saph, we're getting married."
"Seokjin I'll kill you if you break her heart now!"
"Full name," Jin mumbles, softly smiling. Anya gives him a look, returning his smile.
"I love you Ani... and you too Jin." Sapphire looks at him, shrugging. "Well, sometimes."
"I can never win."
Anya practically shoves her ring finger into his view. "Hello? Am I not an absolute win?" Jin watches as Anya and Sapphire giggle together, pure bliss between the group. Does he feel a little bad for waiting this long? Yeah, but at least he knows they're definitely ready for it. "I hate to break up the emotional moment, but I have to get back to work," Anya suddenly says, bringing Jin out of his thoughts.
"Boo, buzzkill," Sapphire whines, Jin nodding in agreement.
"Sorry guys, can't control it. I'll be back later to celebrate... and you..." she says, turning to Jin. She comes closer, Sapphire gagging, knowing what's about to happen. "We'll have our own celebration tonight... right?"
Jin smirks, placing his hands on her waist. "That was ninety percent of the reason why I proposed."
Anya sighs. "You know what?"
"What?" She shakes her head, Jin chuckling from her reaction.
"You've been hanging out with Jimin too much."
~Eight Months and Two Weeks Later || 20:03 (A/N: warning - I cried during this part. Only other time I really cried over Adrift was during 'Forever & Always', so that just goes to show how powerful this is. Good luck)~
Jimin paces back and forth, the others sitting there with concerned looks. "Sapphire and Hoseok know what they're doing, she'll be alright," Tae says.
Jimin sighs, stopping for a moment. "I know, but I can't help but be paranoid and anxious all in one, you know?" They nod in agreement, Jungkook's leg shaking rapidly.
"She didn't want you in there?" Seulgi asks for the twelfth time in the past five minutes.
"No, she didn't-" He's cut off by a loud yell from inside, causing him to wince, tears rolling down his cheeks. "See why?" he whispers, slightly shaking.
"It's okay," Jihyun starts, "she's strong, she'll pull through for Little Park."
"Hey, only I can call him that," Jungkook weakly replies, clearly just as nervous as Jimin.
With a sigh, Jimin starts pacing again, fiddling with his fingers near his mouth. Nervous is an understatement. Fear is an understatement. Jimin has no idea what he's feeling right now other than 'is my wife okay?'. The minutes tick by as a heavy silence falls over the crew. He's not sure what he prefers - silence, or loud noises. On one hand he can't bear listening to the faint cries of his wife due to the silence, on the other, the talking only makes him more anxious. God why can't this be easy? Despite all the years of research towards birth, there's never been great solutions to making it less painful. It's a natural process, one that shouldn't be messed with.
Five minutes pass... then ten... then, the door opens, everyone jumping. Jimin looks to see an exhausted Sapphire standing there, giving him a nod. Jungkook jumps up, rushing to Jimin's side. "Is she okay? Is Y/N alright?" Jungkook rapidly asks, Sapphire sighing in response.
"She's tired, but as she told me, 'that's not what's important right now'. Jungkook, I'm sorry to do this..."
"Jimin first... right. I'll give you two time," Jungkook replies, backing off.
Jimin gulps as Sapphire motions for him to join her. He does, shakily taking her hand as she pulls him inside the room. Hoseok comes over, patting Jimin on the shoulder. "Saph and I will leave for a few minutes, okay? You deserve this Min," Hoseok says, Jimin just barely nodding before Sapphire lets go of his hand. He didn't even notice them leaving the room until he hears the door shut behind them.
He slowly walks over to the curtain covering a single bed, soft cries heard from behind it. Jimin's heartbeat is in his throat, his hand shaking rapidly as he grabs the soft fabric hiding the bed from view. "Jimin?" Y/N's coarse voice calls out. As soon as he hears his wife's tone, he throws open the curtain, eyes widening upon seeing her sitting up... holding his little boy.
Jimin throws a hand over his mouth, sobbing at the sight. Since he knows his legs are about to give out, he sits on the chair next to her bed, staring at the baby through tears. "Looks like we have another member of the Park family," Y/N coos, playing with the baby's hand. She rocks the small boy back and forth, the blankets covering him making him look like an angel. And in a way... he is.
"Hey Joon... welcome to the world," she whispers, tapping on his little nose. The baby stays neutral, stopping his crying momentarily. "Here," she says, motioning for Jimin to take him.
"O-Oh no, my arms are too weak right now."
"I did not just spend nine months in pain for you to say 'your arms are too weak'," she jokes, causing him to gulp. Even though she meant it as a joke, he frowns, feeling bad. She's right - she's the one who just practically tore her body in half to bring Joon into this world, and she isn't even crying. She's only staring right at their child.
Jimin sniffles, leaning forward. "Just like we practiced," she murmurs, helping him take Little Park into his arms.
As soon as the weight is added to his hands, Jimin sits back, looking down at the new face in front of him. "Oh, look at him..." Jimin lets out, laughing softly, "look at him... look at our boy..." Jimin just keeps... staring. He keeps staring and staring, carefully rocking his boy back and forth.
He leans down, kissing his forehead softly, shamelessly crying. "Hey Joon," he whispers, gently brushing his thumb across the newborn's cheek. "Daddy's here... daddy loves you so much," he adds, keeping his voice as low and soothing as possible. Y/N smiles at him, crying with him out of happiness.
"He's beautiful," Jimin says, turning to his wife.
"He has a beautiful father," Y/N replies, more tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Don't forget the beautiful mother." Y/N laughs, holding her stomach. She groans as she comes closer, Jimin looking at her in concern. "Baby..." he mutters, but she shakes him off.
"Don't worry, the pain is mostly gone. I'm just sore now," she replies, leaning closer.
He pecks her lips, being careful not to drop Little Park. "You're one helluva woman. You did so good baby, I'm so proud of you," he whispers, her smiling at his words. "And I want you to know that I'll be the best father I can be... but also the best husband." He kisses the top of Joon's head, chuckling. "Don't ever be afraid to talk to me, okay? You're my priority too, and I know that after birth... sometimes, things can get tough..."
She hums, frowning for a moment. "We'll see what happens, but for now, I'm just so fucking happy." He wants to say 'language', but he knows that she deserves it. After the pain she went through she deserves a curse or two. Jimin looks back down at his boy, admiring his peaceful face.
"How the hell is he being so quiet? He has your genes," Y/N comments.
"Thanks babe," Jimin replies, softly smiling as he keeps his eyes on Joon. "He's gonna be so handsome..." Jimin whispers, Y/N chuckling at him.
"And you're gonna be a great dad."
Jimin looks up at that. "You think so?"
"I know so. Look at you all caring. What happens when we have a girl? Will you be even more protective?"
Jimin raises a brow. "I'm sorry... when?"
"What? You're the one who said you want more than one kid," she explains, keeping her cute smile.
He smiles back. "I know babe. I'm excited for the baby-making process especi-"
"Oh my God," she interrupts, laughing.
She falls back on the bed, laughing at his cuteness. Jimin keeps stroking his thumb across Joon's cheek, trying to hold back more tears but it's impossible. "Hey buddy... hey... I'm Jimin, your daddy," he whispers, still rocking him back and forth. "And over there is your gorgeous mommy, Y/N. Welcome to the world Little Park."
"Namjoon Park," she whispers, sitting up once more.
"Here babe, I've held him for a while," he offers, handing Joon to her.
She gratefully takes him back, letting the newborn rest against her chest. She strokes the back of his head, letting out a warm sigh. "Min?" He hums. "Thank you for helping me create someone so beautiful. We made our little Joon. We did." He brushes some hair out of her face, leaning forward and pressing his lips on hers.
She weakly kisses back, still sore from what she had to endure. Regardless, the two softly kiss under the dim hospital lighting, his hand staying on her cheek while her arms are on the baby. When he pulls back, they lock eyes, lil Joon softly crying again. They keep staring for a few more moments before Y/N turns her attention to Joon, shushing him and comforting the new member of their family.
"Here to announce my presence," Hoseok says, coming up to the pair. Jimin softly smiles,
"Hobi, thank you for doing this. For taking care of my wife."
Hoseok nods. "Anything for my favorite couple. Don't tell Taehyung and Jungkook I said that. Speaking of them... are they the two you want to see first?"
Jimin turns to Y/N, giving her a nod. It's her decision. She takes a moment, then gives Hoseok a thumbs up. "Just... Uncle Kook first. Send Tae in after like two minutes."
"On it," Hoseok replies, leaving to perform his task.
"Little Park, born on the Tokyo," Y/N points out, causing Jimin to smile.
"Our dogs are gonna have a play buddy, can you believe that?"
She hums. "We're ready for this step. I know we are." Jimin keeps staring at his son, admiring his beauty. Jimin can't even describe what he's feeling right now. The emotion overwhelms him, hence why he's bawling his eyes out like there's no tomorrow.
"Oh my God," Jungkook's voice softly says. Jimin turns, seeing Jungkook standing there, both his hands covering his mouth.
"Joonie... guess who's here? Uncle Kook is here," Y/N coos, motioning for Jungkook to come closer. He does, taking some shaky steps, crossing the room until he's next to Jimin. He stands, offering his chair to the younger boy. Jungkook nods his thanks, sitting and gazing at the baby with a look of disbelief.
"Here Koo," she offers, preparing to hand the baby off to her brother.
"Oh no, I-I couldn't-"
"Jeon, I want you and only you to be the third person to hold my child. Please? For me?"
"You really played that card, huh?" Jungkook asks with a chuckle, Y/N chuckling with him as she nods.
"Please? Hold lil Joon Park for me?"
Jungkook goes still, "Joon...?"
"Namjoon Park," Jimin whispers, causing Jungkook to sob.
"Y-You're kidding," he chokes out, his eyes red and puffy.
"Never," Y/N murmurs, motioning for Jungkook to take him.
The Executive hesitates, then, he takes Joon into his arms, letting out a long breath. "Oh my God," he lets out, sniffling loudly. "Y/N... Min... he's beautiful," he whispers, keeping his eyes on the boy's face. Jimin and Y/N entwine hands, watching as Jungkook rocks Little Park gently. "Hey buddy... it's Uncle Kook," Jungkook murmurs, his voice soothing and low.
Jungkook smiles, softly crying as he keeps staring at the newborn. "I was told I could come in now," Tae calls out, walking into the room. All three of them look up in time to see Tae's jaw drop. "Oh my God..." he says, sharing the same reaction as his husband.
Jimin softly smiles. "Care to join us?"
"Are you kidding?" Tae asks with a small laugh, practically skipping over. He kneels in front of his husband, looking at the baby boy. "Aww look at him," he whispers, placing his finger on his cheek. "Little Park... look at him..." he adds, smiling brightly.
"Your turn, if that's okay with Mrs. Park?" Jungkook asks Jimin's wife.
"Of course. I wanted you and Tae to be the first two of the crew to hold him. Jimin, do you agree?"
Of course, Jimin nods. "I do."
Jungkook hands Joon off to Tae, the man holding the baby close. "Wow," he whispers, chuckling. Tae stays quiet for a few moments, focusing on the little boy's face. The entire room is quiet, everyone staring at the newest member of the Park family.
"Does this mean I can finally have alcohol again?" Y/N asks, breaking the silence. The others laugh, being careful not to laugh too loudly for Joon's sake. Jimin kisses the side of her head, squeezing her hand as they watch their two favorite people gush over Joon. Speaking of favorite people...
"Should I go get Jihyun?" Jimin asks, turning to his wife.
"That's up to you babe," she softly replies. His brother is sitting outside, waiting for his turn to see Little Park. Truthfully, the entire crew needs to come in and see him, but for now, Jihyun first. "Koo, can you get him?" Y/N asks, sensing Jimin's thoughts. Jungkook hums, standing and patting his husband on the shoulder before departing.
"He's so gorgeous," Tae says, keeping his eyes on the baby, "I've changed my mind, when we adopt on Triton we're getting a newborn."
Jimin smiles. "I can't wait to hold him then." Before anyone can say anything else, Jungkook comes back with Jihyun in front of him, his eyes searching for the bundle of joy Tae holds. As soon as Jihyun sees the kid, he staggers back, placing his hand on his mouth.
Jihyun doesn't speak, he simply smiles brightly, taking a moment before coming over. "Here," Tae offers, looking at the parents for approval. Of course, Jimin and Y/N nod, watching as Jihyun carefully takes Namjoon into his arms. He wordlessly holds the baby, the boy's tiny hand reaching out as if trying to touch him. Jihyun chuckles, letting the boy grab onto his thumb.
"So cute," he mumbles. After a few moments of silence, Jihyun sighs. "You two... you two actually have a kid. I'm an uncle. I'm Uncle Jihyun."
Jimin momentarily leaves Y/N's side, coming over to his brother. "Another addition to the Park family... what's the first thing you're gonna teach my boy?" Jimin asks, Jihyun looking up to meet his eyes.
"First thing I'll teach him? How to prank his father of course."
Jimin sighs, "I'm not even surprised. If I wake up one day and you two drew a mustache on my face, I'm grounding both of you."
"I'm a grown man," Jihyun protests.
"A grown man drawing mustaches on others... sorry lil bro, I think you deserve a timeout."
"Rude," he mutters, swaying back and forth with the baby.
"Should I bring the others in?" Jungkook asks. Jimin and Y/N lock eyes, then nod in-sync.
"Please remind them not to squeal like children. As quiet as possible... please?" Y/N says, Jungkook humming.
"Of course Mrs. Park," Jungkook teases before creeping out of the room. Jimin lets out a long sigh, smiling softly. He looks at his baby, brushing his thumb across the boy's cheek.
"You did well," Jihyun whispers, Jimin nodding in agreement.
"Yeah... yeah I really did. We're lucky to have such a beautiful boy."
"Healthy too," a new female voice chimes out. Everyone turns to see Sapphire there, holding a digital clipboard. "Before you entered, we made sure to do a quick check up on little Joon," she explains, "he's seven point nine pounds, twenty-one inches, vitals are all good - you have a very healthy baby boy Mr. and Mrs. Park."
Hoseok comes out from behind her, nodding. "No problems during birth either, so both little Joon and Mrs. Park are perfectly healthy." Jimin sighs in relief, going back over to his wife. He kisses the back of her hand, watching as tears slowly run out of the corners of her eyes. Jimin didn't even notice that he's the same way, still crying despite the several minutes it's been since Joon was born.
The rest of the crew comes into the room, everyone having the same reaction as the others. Many soft 'oh my God's are heard, along with them placing their hands over their open mouths. They're shocked, relieved, happy... all three at once. "He's beautiful," Seulgi praises. Baekhyun and Aurora nod in agreement, smiling brightly. Aww do those two suddenly have baby fever? Jimin certainly hopes so.
"Congratulations to the Park family," Anya says, holding Jin's hand. They all come closer but are careful not to crowd around the baby, looking at the bundle of love in Jihyun's arms.
"Here big bro," Jihyun says, handing the baby back to Jimin.
He slips his hand out of Y/N's to instead hold baby Joon, looking at his son in admiration. "Look at our boy... look at him..." he whispers, his eye smile coming out.
"He's beautiful," Y/N whispers back, smiling just as widely as her husband. Jimin sniffles, softly laughing.
"Kim Namjoon... I hope you're seeing this." He pauses, looking up at the ceiling. "I hope wherever you are, you're seeing this, and just know this... I'll always remember you. I'll always love you."
~Two Months Later || 21:08~
Jimin raises his glass, watching as the others do the same. "Alcohol... I've missed you so much," Y/N dramatically whines, kissing her glass.
"This is why I married you," he mumbles with a small chuckle. "To Namjoon Park, who's two months old today." They all clink their glasses together, Y/N and Jimin (of course) being the only pair to down their beverage in one go.
Tae, as normal, gives the alcohol a dirty look, only taking a sip for the toast before handing the rest to Jungkook. And, once again as normal, Jungkook downs that easily. Yoongi of course downs his drink too, Sapphire doing the same. The others just take small sips and call it a day. Wimps.
"Question - when is the Jin and Anya wedding?" Seulgi asks, leaning on the table. Jin and Anya turn red, averting their eyes.
"Soon," Anya mumbles, fiddling with her fingers.
"Bitch it's been almost a year and we don't even have a date! No fair!" Seulgi says, the others nodding in agreement.
"We're planning! It's hard to have a space wedding!"
"You know Jimin insisted on having a ballroom installed for this purpose, right?" Y/N asks, blinking at the couple.
"I thought he did that because he's dramatic," Yoongi says, yawning.
"Hey!" Jimin whines, pouting.
"You can get on me all you want about our wedding, but how long did it take you to have yours?" Jin asks, raising a brow at Holgi.
Hoseok shrugs, "It only took like... uh... how long?"
"Almost a year and a half," Sapphire says. It's only been four months since Hoseok and Seulgi officially tied the note.
"Sapphire and I got married only a few months after we got engaged. What's your excuse?" Yoongi asks, running a hand through his black and silver locks.
"Well we aren't sure if we want to have it here or on a planet... unlike some people," Anya replies.
"The ballroom was amazing, I don't know what you're talking about," Sapphire says. Best friends... they're interesting, that's for sure.
"Okay can we address the elephant in the room?" Baekhyun asks, everyone turning to look at him, "when the hell are Taehyung and Jungkook gonna have another kid?" Tae and Kook blush madly, looking down.
"We stop at Triton this time next month," Jimin teases.
"When we stop we'll adopt," Jungkook proudly says, "get a little one in honor of my husband's home world."
"You two are cute and in love, we get it," Yoongi says with yet another yawn.
"Guess who else is cute and in love... that's right, Aurora and me," Baekhyun says, holding his girlfriend's hand. She gives him a soft smile, the redheaded girl pecking his cheek.
"Cute," Jin mumbles, smiling at the pair.
"I know this is just a small get together to celebrate my son's birth, but thank you everyone for coming. It's been a while since we've done this... well, you know, we didn't really get a chance to do so because of our newborn," Jimin starts, Y/N groaning.
"That little bastard is keeping us up til' three in the morning. Finally he's calmed down a bit so we've had some sleep this past week," she complains, pouting.
"Rock paper scissoring over who changes the diaper quickly turned deadly..." Jimin says, shuddering, "I won three times in a row once... I've learned to let her win most of the time..."
"Maybe we don't want kids after all," Seulgi murmurs, looking mortified.
"Hoseok is nicer than I am," Jimin points out.
"Not that nice, let's not push it," Hoseok instantly replies, "I like sleep as much as Yoongi."
"He's been hanging out with me too much," Yoongi agrees, nodding.
"I'm starting to wonder if Yoongi and Hoseok are the ones married, not Hoseok and Seulgi," Jin points out.
"No, that's more you and Yoongi. You two bicker like there's no tomorrow," Aurora retorts.
"I would never marry Jin," Yoongi says.
"But you'd marry me, right?" Hoseok asks. As soon as the words leave Hobi's mouth, chaos breaks out amongst the crew. Oh boy, this will be a long day...
Jimin places his hand on his cheek, blinking slowly as he watches the crew argue with each other. Mostly over who the hell wouldn't marry Hoseok, making Seulgi jealous and causing her to argue with the entire crew that Hoseok is hers. Great, everyone's fighting over Seulgi's husband. Jesus this crew, most of them are in their thirties but they're still fighting like twelve year old's. He doesn't get paid enough for this. Jimin is literally a billionaire but he doesn't get paid enough still.
"I need more alcohol," Jimin grumbles, Jungkook nodding in agreement. Taehyung and Jungkook are the only two not arguing... well, Y/N isn't either, but she's paying attention to the bottle in her hands. That's right, Jimin's wife is hogging the alcohol. Not him, his wife. She hasn't drank or slept much these past two months thanks to their kid taking up most of their attention. Now, she can finally drink without hesitation. Jimin promised to take care of things tonight, so she's getting wasted to say the least.
"Tell your wife to share," Jungkook teases, ignoring the loud shouts the other members are giving each other.
"Why did I set up this dinner again?" Jimin asks.
"You ask this every time we get together. I don't know what you think will change. How many years has it been?" Tae asks.
"Too many," Jimin huffs back, sinking back in his chair.
Truthfully - he loves listening to the crew bicker. It proves how good of friends they are. They poke fun at each other, are all highkey in love with each other, and share pretty much everything with each other. Jimin knows that most of the crew is whipped for him, just like how he's whipped for Jungkook. Speaking of Jungkook...
Jimin turns to the man, clearing his throat. "Uh oh. I don't like that look," Jungkook says, frowning.
"It's nothing bad, I was just wondering how the ab workout is going."
"Good actually. Why, did you lose your abs?" Jungkook asks.
Jimin chuckles, "Not yet, but being a father will probably take them away now since I'm not working out as often. What's your routine? Need to keep them to impress the Mrs."
Jungkook smiles, "I'll send you a list of all the reps I do."
"Oh no, that won't work," Jimin remarks.
"What, why-"
"I'm a visual learner," Jimin interrupts, licking his lower lip.
"So am I," Y/N chimes in, causing Jimin to scoff.
"Excuse me? You want to watch another man do an ab workout?"
"Why not? You're doing it," she teases, leaning closer to him.
"Can I come?" Tae innocently asks.
"Hell no," Jimin hisses, but Tae only frowns.
"Why not?"
"Because if you're there, it'll turn into an orgy," Jimin explains.
"Why is that a bad thing?" Y/N asks, and Jimin goes still.
"Because we're responsible parents who need to not get distracted. We can't hire babysitters all the time like we're doing right now."
"One day won't hurt," she says.
"She's not wrong," Jungkook throws in.
Jimin grabs Jungkook's arm, flashing the friendship bracelet. "Cause you're not biased."
Jungkook pouts, pointing to Jimin's wedding ring. "You're supposed to be the biased one, not me!"
"He's not wrong," Y/N says.
Once again, Jimin grabs Jungkook's wrist, showing off the bracelet. "Biased."
"Are you four quite finished?" Seulgi's voice asks. The four of them turn to face the others, noticing how they're not arguing anymore. Actually, they're just staring at Y/N, Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung, blinking at them.
"Uh... yes?" Jimin cautiously says, looking at his wife for confirmation.
"If Jimin's done whining, then I am too," Y/N agrees, nodding. Jimin gives her a cute pout, but she simply smiles before turning her attention to the others.
"Jin."
"Yoongi."
"Plan the wedding."
"God dammit Yoongi," Jin huffs. Jimin chuckles, watching as Jin and Yoongi hiss at each other. Yoogni urging Jin to plan the wedding already while Jin argues about how they're still uncertain about what to do. Jimin finds it pretty amusing. Those two can argue about the smallest thing like going 'left' or 'right' in a maze. Jimin knows this because it's happened before. They stopped at Ganymede once to drop off supplies and apparently a new 'corn maze' opened.
Jimin looks at Y/N, who's happily talking to Aurora. She was so amazed when they saw the corn maze. Corn is rare on Ganymede, let alone a whole maze of it. They all went in, Jimin was paired with Y/N and Yoonjin... it was entertaining to say the least. 'We should go left' Yoongi said. 'No, we should go right' Jin argued. It went back and forth so much that Jimin took Y/N left. They didn't even notice Jimin left: they kept arguing. Well, on the bright side, they sure know how to spice up a party. Speaking of parties...
The celebration for Joon's two month birthday is more an excuse to drink. Jimin and Y/N are the CEOs of looking for excuses to drink, Yoongi and Jungkook right behind them, always encouraging them to throw a party. If Jimin and Y/N don't do it, then Jungkook does. No wonder why him and Y/N are best friends. They're fiends for drinking.
Jimin looks around at his crew, seeing all their smiling faces. Yoongi, with his surprisingly cheerful attitude. He went from an emotionless science experiment to Jimin's best friend. Not to mention the one to watch movies with him. The one who needs to learn a lot of Jimin's references. They've been together for years and Yoons still has a lot to learn. Jimin loves that man, that's for sure.
Then, there's Baekhyun. The determined man who was at first at odds with the crew, now he's known as the famous pilot who blew up a whole damn battleship on his own, winning the Ganymede feud with the Belt. Jimin is personally the most proud of Baekhyun for the turn around he did. Baekhyun went from someone Jimin didn't particularly like to a brother figure. Jimin couldn't be happier with this man.
Seulgi... her charm and leadership is so, so strong, but it wasn't always that way. Back at the start, she was as professional as a girl could get. She didn't care about Y/N to the point that Jimin had to yell at her, his superior at the time, that Y/N saved her life. One of the first times he ever spoke back to a superior, because of Y/N. Funny how that works. Regardless, Seulgi quickly changed and became the fierce leader she is today. Honestly, Jimin could see her as a better, not corrupt version of Commander Clementine. A war hero.
Jin. Where does Jimin even start with him? The cook and engineer, what a combo. Jin was a bit of a narcissist at first (and still is), but Jimin quickly learned that there's more than what the surface showed. Jin went through a lot, practically raised himself, was scared of love... but through the crew he found the love of his life and learned what family felt like. He's a great man, one of the best of them. He's so strong, and he never asks for anything in return. Jimin couldn't be more grateful.
Hoseok, what a man. He may not be as happy as he always likes to display, but Jimin is proud of him for at least trying to light up the room at all times. He's just as strong as a leader as his wife, his ability truly unmatched. Although Hobi can panic, and gets scared easily, his skill is a force to be reckoned with. He can use any tool on any ship along with heal even the worst wounds. His training with Sapphire over these past few years have made him one of the best medics in the system. Literally no one is on Hoseok's level. But not only is he skilled with physical things, he's skilled with emotional things as well. Jimin feels a deep connection with the man, and he's not sure why. It's like he can trust Hobi to be there for him, always. Huh...
Sapphire. How the hell does she put up with Yoongi? Jimin isn't sure, but he respects her for it. She started as someone he wasn't sure if he wanted to have around (or that she'd even stick around)... however, that changed quickly. Not only is she as witty and funny as Yoongi, but she's reliable and as tough as nails. At first, Jimin thought her and Yoongi wouldn't last, but something changed in her during the Battle for Earth. Something changed, even if she won't admit it. Jimin saw it in her eyes. She loves Yoongi more than anything, and it almost feels like on that day, she decided she wanted him for life. Jimin can't help but admire that. He admires her a lot... honestly, more than a lot.
Aurora may be new, but she's certainly left her mark already. Jimin was (and still is) surprised by her patience. She makes a lot of jokes about her red hair, which admittedly makes Jimin laugh a little too hard, but that only makes her fun to be around. Aurora is a light soul, one who should be protected. She's so patient with Baekhyun, helping him every step of the way through his paralysis. Despite how even when he gets his strength back he won't be able to run much or do normal things, she doesn't care. She only cares about his personality. Aurora is truly a good girl, and Jimin can't wait to see them get married.
Anya, the scientist. Personally, Anya is Jimin's closest girl friend. Even beyond Seulgi. That may sound crazy, but when Jimin first met Anya, he was instantly drawn in by her compassion. When she was in the Ring with the crew, she practically threw away her life to save Jungkook and Tae. She got infected because of it. The most amazing part about that is she never complained. She never once complained about getting sick, or needing enhancements. Anya kept pushing forward for the crew. In fact, she even thanked them for trusting her. Jimin truly loves Anya like a big sister. How can he not? She's so caring and delicate, and how the fuck she puts up with Jin is still a mystery. Jimin has tremendous respect for her. Jungkook and Y/N are the only two in the entire crew that have a teeny bit more respect from Jimin.
Speaking of Jungkook, that man is literally the definition of adorable. Y/N would kill Jimin if he called the boy 'Bunny', but he desperately wants to. Jungkook's not only adorable, but he's strong and charismatic. There's not a single thing Jimin dislikes about Jungkook. He went from a boy living in Namjoon's memory, to a man who lived on for Namjoon. Who became his own person and persevered. Jimin admires that more than anything. Jungkook is a strong man, arguably one of the strongest in the crew. He's just... beautiful. In every way. Jimin loves him. He really, truly does.
Now for Jungkook's husband, Tae Tae. Jimin's best friend. If he had to choose a member to be his closest friend, he'd say it's Tae. The best friend, the one who's there for everything. Tae is one of the crewmates who went through too much shit. Losing his home? What the fuck, when did he deserve that? Losing his home and being forced to survive in a wasteland until the crew shows up... so horrible. He started shy and reserved but eventually came out of his shell and became one of the funniest crewmembers. Jimin couldn't ask for a better supporter. Tae has always been so gentle with others, a trait Jimin wish more people had.
And of course... Y/N. Y/N Park. Jimin looks at her, watching as she laughs with Aurora. He can't help but smile at the sight, loving their friendship. His Y/N. His wife. She meets his eyes, and everything seems to stop. Everything. Wow. Okay, deep breaths Jimin. He has a child with this gorgeous woman. She's ethereal. He smiles wider, her smiling with him. So, this is it. This is what a happy life feels like. This is it. He finally found it. The smile he wears now is the first of its kind. The smile he has isn't joy, it's not relief, it's not sad... it's a smile of peace. For the first time in his life, he knows he can rest. It took him this long to figure it out, but he found it. Because of Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, Baekhyun, Sapphire, Seulgi, Anya, Aurora... and Y/N. This is it. Jimin feels tears prick at the corner of his eyes as he thinks about it. His life is complete. He can say with confidence that he can die happy. These people surrounding him... this is his life. Park Jimin is finally complete.
~22:42 (A/N: warning, last couple moments for Adrift ahead... good luck...)~
You look at Jimin, wondering why he's so quiet. The two of you are walking back to your room, about to check on Joon. That poor babysitter is probably exhausted dealing with both a baby and three dogs. Leaving your two-month old with a random worker was... difficult, but after Jimin interviewed her, he determined she was good. You trust his judgement, plus, the sitter would have commed if something went wrong.
"Min?" you ask, wanting to know what's going on in that beautiful mind of his. He turns to you, humming softly. "You okay?" He smiles, stopping you for a moment. You're not far from your quarters now, what's so important that he's talking to you about it here rather than there? This must be serious.
"I love you." Alright, that wasn't what you were expecting, but you're not complaining.
"I love you too. Everything okay?"
He pecks your lips, letting out a breath, "I wanted to tell you something. Good, I promise."
"Pinky promise?"
He chuckles, "Always... I never break my promises."
You subconsciously trace your pinky finger across your wedding ring, smiling. "No, no you really don't."
He keeps his gorgeous smile, placing one hand on your cheek while the other holds your right hand, "Y/N, it just hit me that we're here for life. This battleship touring the outer rim? This is it. Our life from here on out. We're finally living that 'settled down, peaceful' life everyone always tells us about. We have a son, and we're married, and a nine to five job..."
"It's more like a twenty-four hour job," you reply, causing him to laugh.
His squeaky sounds come out, your heart softening at the noises. "I just, fuck, I love you so much. I can't even express it. Baby, there aren't enough words in the dictionary to string together a sentence describing how much I love you." You gaze at him with starry eyes, absorbing his every word. "And now, we have a little boy I can share that love with. We can teach him what a healthy relationship looks like, what good manners are, basic respect - something this system needs more of. We're going to teach him all that. We are. Us. The Parks."
You agree, coming closer to him. "And we're going to do good, you know that?"
He brushes his thumb across your cheek, nodding, "I know." And without another word, he firmly presses his lips against yours, the passion and desire you've always had for each other coming out as the kiss deepens...
Jungkook stares at Taehyung, watching as he closes and locks the doors to the greenhouse. "Are you sure we can't stay overnight in that place? Locked in with nature, no one around..." Jungkook teases.
"Careful, there's still cameras babe," Tae teases back.
"You practically own the greenhouse and your best friend owns the battleship. I think we'd be fine."
"You're mostly saying that cause you want us to make a sex tape," Tae replies with a cheeky smile.
He pouts, "So what if I do? Is that a crime?"
Tae laughs, "Come on, we have our boy to go see."
"He's probably sleeping," Jungkook says with a shrug, "he sleeps more than Yoongi at this point."
"I'm telling him you said that."
"Who? Yoons or our son?"
Tae snickers, "Both."
"Ooooh I'm so scared, wow, I wonder how Yoongi will react. I'm sure it'll be such a shocking reaction."
Tae playfully rolls his eyes. "You're a dork."
"Your dork," Jungkook corrects. Tae leans his back against the doors to the greenhouse, gently smiling as Jungkook comes closer. "Are you ready to have another?" Jungkook whisper-asks, placing his hands on Tae's hips.
The older man places his hands on Jungkook's shoulders, nodding rapidly. "Are you kidding? I'm so ready." He pauses for a moment, a little hesitant.
"What? What is it?" Jungkook asks, furrowing his brows.
"Do you think... we could get a girl?" Tae mumbles.
"A girl? Really? You?"
"Yeah. I want a little princess to protect. Plus, it'll be weird calling 'buddy' and having two heads turn."
"So you want a buddy and a princess?" Jungkook asks, Taehyung nodding.
"A buddy and a princess. A cute little newborn princess for us to take care of."
"You really wouldn't mind changing the diapers?"
"Are you kidding? Totally worth it to see her grow up from the start," Tae replies, flashing Jungkook a boxy smile.
At that moment, Jungkook kisses his husband like it's the last kiss they'll ever share. Their emotion and love for each other seeping out through this one action. Even though Jungkook has his eyes closed, his vision explodes with color. His skin still tingles being this close to Tae, even after all this time. The butterflies truly don't go away...
Tae gently pulls his head back, fluttering his eyes open to meet Jungkook's. "Do you want to go on a date tomorrow?" Tae blurts, causing Jungkook to go still.
"Oh shit... it's been a while..."
"Over a month."
"What do you want to do?" Jungkook asks.
"Who cares? Virtual skydiving, candlelight dinner, playing tag at three a.m., who cares?"
"Oh. My. God. TAG!"
"Jungkook it's past curfew shhh," Tae urges, but it doesn't mean much seeing as he's giggling at his husband's outburst.
Jungkook may be twenty-eight, but he's still a kid at heart. Tag still excites him, whether it be regular or laser tag. They're both so much fun. Speaking of laser tag... "I'll never forget Ganymede, before we were together... when we played laser tag?" Jungkook says, Taehyung nodding as he tells the story.
"That was so much fun." Tae smiles, "The best part is when you told me to get behind you and I complained... of course your teasing self replied with 'what so you don't want to admire my ass?'. I'll always remember that."
"Damn, even back then I had a way with words," Jungkook proudly says, earning a laugh from his husband. After Tae dials down from his laughing fit, Jungkook softly smiles.
"What?" Tae asks, raising a brow.
"Nothing you're just... you're gorgeous Tae. You really are."
Tae pecks Jungkook's lips, keeping a smile on his lips. "I love you."
Jungkook breaks out into a bunny smile, "I love you too."
Before they can say anything else, faint laughter is heard down the hall. The couple breaks apart, Tae and Jungkook both looking at the end of the corridor. Jimin and Y/N turn the corner, hand-in-hand, looking only at each other. "Twinsies!" Tae calls, the two intruders snapping their heads up in alarm.
"Oh if it isn't Taekook," Y/N teases, "my otp."
"I'm proud of that," Jungkook says.
He peeps at Y/N, who's looking back and forth between Tae and Jimin. Jungkook can't help but sigh, walking forward. "Can I talk to you?" Jungkook asks her, the girl confused but nodding nonetheless.
"I'll steal Tae then?" Jimin asks, Jungkook humming in agreement. The best friends walk away, Y/N slipping her hand out of Jimin's and into Jungkook's. On instinct, Jungkook holds her close, making sure she's safe.
As soon as they're out of ear shot of the other two, Jungkook turns to her, letting out a soft sigh. "Little Park... I just wanted to say how much I love him already. God, he can't even speak yet but I love him more than myself. You created someone so beautiful, and I want you to know how proud I am of you for that. Both you and Jimin, but you especially. I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished. I'm honored to be able to stand here in front of you today. To be able to call you my best friend..."
"Your soulmate," she whispers, him smiling instantly at the word. She brushes her hand across his cheek, coming closer. "Having you in front of me today... sometimes it still boggles my mind. Sometimes it amazes me that we made it here."
"After everything somehow we got a peaceful life," he says, her nodding in agreement.
"You deserve it." Jungkook's eyes widen as she smiles. "You do," she repeats, "you deserve to settle down, to live your life with Tae... to be free. You say you're proud of me, but Bun, I'm proud of you too. More than you know."
He gently kisses her forehead, bringing her into a hug right after. "I love you," he murmurs, closing his eyes.
"I love you too," she softly replies, giving him a squeeze. Having her arms around him... holding him close? He feels so safe. So loved. Jungkook lets out a breath, opening his eyes.
Jungkook's eyes find Tae's figure, the man talking to Jimin quietly. However, the older man quickly notices Jungkook's intense gaze and meets it. Time goes still, Jungkook's heart feeling complete. So, this is it. This is what she meant by a peaceful life. Taehyung... his husband. The one he'll love forever. Jungkook widely smiles, even tearing up. After years and years, it feels like he can finally relax. It took him this long to figure it out, but he finally has. This is it. For the first time in his life, Jungkook knows with certainty that this is the life he wants. Jeon Jungkook wants Jeon Taehyung. Forever...
Hoseok looks at Seulgi, the girl washing dishes while softly humming. He can't help but smile at the sight, his legs moving on their own. He stands, getting off their bed to instead walk over to the kitchen counter. Hoseok leans against it, watching his wife slowly dance to the beat playing in those earbuds she's wearing.
He only watches for a few moments, waiting for her to finish what she's doing. Seulgi has always loved manually doing the dishes, Hoseok never really understood it. She said 'she loves feeling the water'. Apparently it's like therapeutic to her or something. Cleaning relaxes her, so he never judged. They have a dishwasher, and he always insists on helping, but she says no to both things. She just... cleans on her own, often listening to music while she does so.
Seulgi finally finishes, putting all the plates and glasses on the drying rack next to the sink. She quickly washes her hands, grabbing a hand towel from a bar hanging near the sink to pat them down. As soon as she's all good, she turns, jumping when she sees Hoseok only a few feet away from her.
"Hey," he greets when she takes off her earbuds.
"Jeez Hobi you scared me," she lets out, laughing a bit.
"Sorry love, you know I can't help it," he cheekily replies, watching as she saunters closer.
"Oh yeah...?"
He hums, "Yeah." She hands an earbud to him, him staring at it for a moment before putting it in. She mimics his action, plopping the device back into her ear.
Hoseok watches Seulgi grab her phone, humming to herself for a few more moments. Then, a soothing melody begins to play, the soft sounds filling his ear. He doesn't even speak, he just stares as she holds out her hand to him. Without hesitating, he takes it, letting her pull him into the kitchen. Together, the two quickly fall into a pattern. His hands stay on her hips while her arms are wrapped around his shoulders. The perfect slow dance routine.
He meets her eyes, her smiling at him as soon as he does. They rock back and forth, Seulgi's joy-filled eyes making Hoseok's heart melt. How can he not love this woman? She's not only the most gorgeous person in the system, but she's the funniest... the kindest... the smartest. She's always so fierce and artistic, showing her emotions through her drawings. Several pieces of her artwork are hung up around the room, many being landscapes of their adventures all those years ago... but she also drew him.
Hoseok glances at the portrait hanging near their bed, the frame surrounding it an elegant gold color. It only took her a day to draw, but it looks perfect. She captured his smile perfectly. "I see it a lot, that's why it's so perfect," she whispers as if reading his thoughts. He turns back to her, giving her that smile she always sees.
"Hobi?"
"Hm?"
She returns his smile. "In a world where I didn't have much purpose, much reason to live, that one smile you gave me silenced all my doubts. It made me feel whole. Complete. Thank you for being my sunshine - my happiness."
"Thank you for being mine," Hoseok replies, earning him a laugh from her.
"You're smooth Jung, I'll give you that."
"So are you," he teases, chuckling as he places his forehead on hers. Their eyes meet again, hers holding a depth Hoseok can't even describe. Hoseok lets out a breath, smiling. "Seul?" She nods. "Do you want to have kids?" Her eyes widen at his sudden question, causing him to get nervous for a few seconds. However, she's quick to silence his doubts.
"I do."
He sighs in relief, "Thank you..."
To his surprise, she steps out of his embrace, the music still playing in their ears. He stares in shock as she takes off her shirt. Despite the sudden move, she gives him the sweetest smile humanly possible. "I love you, Jung Hoseok. Our future together? It starts now. Tonight."
"Really?" he asks.
"Hobi?" He nods. "Let's do it. Let's create the next generation of Jung's... together."
Hoseok keeps gazing into her eyes, not noticing the skin she revealed. They're really doing this. They're about to make love, and it won't be hot or kinky... it'll be passionate and sweet. Just like their relationship. Hoseok tears up at the thought, his smile widening so much it physically hurts his cheeks. He found his life. His happiness. This is it. Hobi sniffles, nodding rapidly, "I love you Seul. I love you so, so much..."
Baekhyun walks over, slightly groaning from the effort. It's not painful, it's more... stiff. He can't move his actual legs, it's the machines tied to his legs that are doing all the work. He still has no feeling down there, which is jarring to say the least, but having metal strapped around his skin definitely helps.
Aurora has been so supportive through it all, helping him with every step. If he fell and cursed, calling himself stupid for thinking prosthetics would work, she'd encourage him to get back up and try again. She'd always make him try again whenever he got down on himself. The funny part is, whenever he tried more than once, it worked out. He just had to keep going, and she knew that. Sometimes she knows him better than he knows himself.
Speaking of the girl, she's standing near the window of the observatory, her eyes looking out at the stars. They're near Ganymede now, their next stop being Triton. It's still a way's away since they're patrolling (they're going pretty slow), but as soon as they get there, the crew is going to try and convince Tae and Jungkook to adopt another. Aurora has been big on that, she really wants to see them get another kid.
Something that's commonly agreed on between the crew - Jungoo and Tae Tae are babies. Jungoo is baby. Tae Tae is baby. They must be protected at all times. Aurora adores them as much as Sapphire now. Those two literally bond over their mutual love for Jungkook especially, but Taekook in general. Everyone agrees that Taekook is the funniest relationship to watch. Literally, their lives become comedies whenever those two are around.
Baekhyun smiles to himself as he stands next to her, looking out the giant window that shows all the different colors of Jupiter and its moons. "You holding up okay?" Aurora asks, not taking her eyes off the galaxy in front of her.
"I'll live. You?"
She chuckles, giving him a shrug, "I don't know... is it weird that I don't know what I want?" Baekhyun keeps his gaze on her, ignoring the stars outside.
"What do you mean?"
She sighs, "I joined this crew, this whole battleship... all for you. Now I love them like I love my own family, but I also miss my best friend, my blood family. It's been years since we've been to Earth. I don't know. I miss them a lot. I'm homesick, in a way."
Baekhyun gives her a soft smile. "We could go there, if you'd like."
She turns to him, raising a brow. "Go there? To Earth?"
"Like our own little journey. Visit Earth, see our families, explore different places. Now that I can walk, we can go anywhere you want."
She gives him a small frown. "No... no, that's not a good idea."
"Huh, why-"
"What do you want," she interrupts, "you say we can go anywhere I want, but what about you? You're the one with new legs Byun: if you could go anywhere, where would you go?"
He gives her a look of surprise, then, he nods. "Anywhere that you are." Clearly she wasn't expecting that answer seeing as she blushes, turning away. After all this time... she still gets flustered by his romantic, cheesy dialogue.
"Baekhyun?" He hums, the two locking eyes again. "I might be homesick but... I'd go anywhere you are too."
He holds her hand, bringing her close. "I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I know that," he whispers.
To his surprise, she doesn't get embarrassed or flushed. She simply returns his smile, giving his hand a squeeze. "You know what Baekhyun?" He raises a brow. "Let's do it. Let's spend the rest of our lives together."
"Remind me not to volunteer to clean again," Jin groans. Anya snickers at him, shaking her head. She's sitting on top of the table as Jin works around her, grabbing the glasses and plates left behind by their crewmates. The little celebration they had was a lot of fun, but they set it up themselves, no help from any workers or anything. Granted, there's four restaurants (and two bars, something very important) on the Tokyo, but they decided to do their own thing in one of the private party rooms.
Jin volunteered to do the cleaning since he's good with kitchen stuff. Of course, everyone agreed to that. Seeing as half of the members were drunk and the other half made it clear that they're getting laid tonight, Jin and Anya were left alone to do everything. He insisted that Anya not do much, but as normal, she ignored him. She may be sitting now, but she cleared most of the table and washed a lot of dishes already. Jin and Anya, what an iconic duo.
He gathers another round of plates, but Anya can't stand seeing him so quiet. Clearly something's on his mind. She reaches out, barely able to grab his elbow. He jumps at the unexpected contact, letting out a breath as he faces her. "Scared me Ani."
"Sorry, I do that sometimes. Small, remember? I don't make much noise."
"Well, not right now, but at night-"
"Alright Seokjin," she interrupts, laughing with a small blush on her cheeks.
Jin gets the message she wants to talk and sets his plates aside, jumping up on the tablecloth a couple feet away from her. They both swing their legs back and forth, enjoying the silence for a few moments. The two stare, not sure who should speak first. Anya knows she kind of started this, so she decides to break the silence.
"Everything okay?" she asks, and he goes to nod, then sees her knowing gaze.
He lets out a long sigh, looking down for a moment before meeting her eyes. "They're right, you know."
"About?"
"Us," he whispers, looking down at the ground once again.
"Which part? Us being disgustingly in love, us being obnoxious-"
He cuts her off by laughing. "Well, yes, but I meant with marriage."
Anya thinks about it for a moment, then nods. "Alright, so what do we do about it?"
Jin blinks at her. "Uh-"
"Plan a wedding, right?" He seems dumbfounded, her words rendering him speechless. "Shit did I shut you up? What is this power and can I please learn how to use it more often?" she asks herself, looking down at her hand dramatically.
"Oh ha ha," he blankly replies, her smiling.
"They're right. I agree, let's do it Jinnie. Let's plan our wedding."
"You're okay with it being on the Tokyo?" he asks, furrowing his brows.
"Jin, the location of our wedding doesn't matter. The decorations, the cake, even my dress doesn't matter that much. It's the fact that we're getting married, that we're solidifying our love for each other... forever. The rest is just fluff. It's all just fluff. We're going to get married, get wasted, see our best friends, and have a great time. We can worry about the details later. For now, let's start small with a date."
Jin looks at her for a few moments, then scoots closer. Within only a few seconds, their lips touch, Anya's heartbeat pounding in her ears. The kiss only lasts a moment, but that moment shows how deeply they care about each other. When Jin pulls back, he gives her a smile. This is her one in front of her. For the longest time, she thought it was Alice. For the longest time, she thought she'd never even look at another guy... then this man showed up. The one she loves more than anything. The one who has a lot more to offer than what most think. As soon as Anya looked past his surface, she fell in love. "I love you," she whispers, his smile widening at her words.
"I love you too..."
Yoongi lets out a small breath, sitting back in his chair. He finished writing another batch of lyrics. He made a deal with Jungkook and Taehyung that he'll write their lyrics, and they'll perform them. Those two are getting serious about making music to the point where they (with the help of Jimin and Jin) converted one of the big storage closets to a recording studio. Yoongi respects that, but now he'll need a studio too. He wants in on this project.
Sapphire isn't too far away, she's reading over one of the other songs he wrote. Normally he writes a lot of rap, but since both Jungkook and Tae are vocalists (despite Tae claiming he can rap faster than Yoongi), he's focusing on more sweet, slow songs. Almost like romantic duets. It definitely suits them, they're both suckers for love.
"I like what you did here with this... though can I make a recommendation?" Sapphire asks. Yoongi hums, gathering his new papers. "Adlibs. This song has the perfect opportunity to add in something for Tae's high register. You've heard his voice, he has an amazing range, we should show it off. And for Kook? Have them alternate, have one sing a higher part while the other does low, then vice versa."
He comes over to her, scanning over the part she's talking about. "Hm... good idea. I'll write it in while you look over these?" he offers, handing her a fresh set.
"Are we the managers of the 'Taekook' band. Oh my God is that what they're naming themselves? Please say yes." Yoongi smiles at her cuteness, loving how excited she's getting. Yeah, she adores those two. He's starting to think she loves Taekook more than Yoongi.
They switch papers, Yoongi going back over to the table and plopping down, getting to work on the rewrites. He changes it from a straight harmonization of the same note between the two to what Sapphire said. For the first part, he makes Jungkook go high while Tae goes low, then the opposite for the second part. Perfect. Much, much better.
"Hey Yoons?"
"Already something wrong with it?" he asks in disbelief. However, when he looks back up, he's surprised to see her not even glancing at the papers - instead, her eyes are on him.
"Why do you love me?"
His eyes widen at her words, confused as to why she's asking this question now. "Because you're you. What's not to love about you? I proposed for a reason." She somberly nods, turning her attention back to the paper. He frowns, upset now since she is. Yoongi lets go of his lyrics, standing to instead come over to her. She shyly looks up as he approaches, kneeling in front of her.
"Everything okay?"
She starts to nod, then stops for a moment. "Everything's perfect. That's what worries me. I guess it's instinct, always waiting for a bad thing to happen. I had a great childhood until my teenage years when my dad... then of course research was constant drama, so many boys trying to come into my life, then Alice... then Kai... then the entire war practically taking my sanity." She looks at him, sighing. "For years, it didn't feel like I would reach happiness, but now, these past couple years with you? I've been so at peace. I never thought I'd reach this point since most of my life so far has been waiting for the next beating to come."
Yoongi listens closely, absorbing her every word. "Saph, if there's one thing I can promise you, it's that I'll stay by your side, always. I said 'I do' because there's no one else I love. No one I'll ever love as much as I love you. Not even close. I understand being scared, and your fear is totally okay, but at the very least, know that even though I can't control what happens with other people, I can control what happens with me. And what I know I can do is promise to love you for you. Forever."
She blinks at him, amazed by his confession. It isn't like him to show his emotion this much, but he's in a sentimental mood. With Jimin and Y/N taking a huge step in raising a child, these past two months have been pretty emotional for the crew. Even Yoongi is joining in on it now.
"I love you, so so much Yoons. I can't thank you enough for that. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. You're such a good guy. Thank you, I mean it." He smiles, leaning forward and gently kissing her. She reciprocates his gentle touch, kissing him back slowly and sweetly. Yoongi is here, with his crew and the love of his life. His smile only widens as he deepens the kiss, desperate to get closer. He loves her, all of her. His past, everything he went through... it fades away. Yoongi's a new person now. He always will be. Because of her and this crew, Min Yoongi is complete.
~The Next Day || 14:22~
The alarms blaring causes chaos to break out on the bridge. Several workers are kneeling in front of panels, making sure each and every system is working. The Tokyo may be a battleship, but the thing barely does much in the way of battling. Occasionally there'll be a group of pirates who dare oppose it, but they quickly learn that messing with the most powerful ship in the solar system is a huge mistake.
The doors to the bridge open, revealing the Commander everyone knows so well. Almost instantly, most of the workers bow or salute, standing at attention for their Commanding Officer. "At ease." Just as quickly, the workers fall back into their normal states, going back to their frenzy. He walks to the center of the room, right by the pilot's chair, looking out at the vastness of space. Ganymede. The Tokyo is right near Ganymede. There's a male worker standing on the other side of the chair, fiddling with his comm as the Commander clears his throat, turning to him.
"What seems to be the problem?" Diamond Commander Park Jimin asks his subordinate, the man shrugging.
"Distress signal near Ganymede. Coming from a ship named the Aphrodite," the man replies. Head Pilot Y/N Park looks at her husband with concern, but he mostly shakes it off. It's been a while since there's been any distress signals, that's for sure. However, it's protocol to help... so...
"What do you suggest sir?" the man asks. The Commander sighs, turning to face the crew. The bridge is filled to the brim with people rushing around. Chief Engineer Kim Seokjin is present, close to the Commander in case he needs anything. Executive Jeon Jungkook is also there, standing next to Commander Park out of instinct. It's been a while since they've faced anything out of the ordinary, but the Commander is ready for it.
He turns towards the comm panel, and time seems to feel... different. For a few moments, the battleship ceases its activity. The movements from the other crewmates are steady, almost as if in slow-motion. Commander Park is confused to say the least. So confused that his eyes look for his Executive, but the man is just as slow as the rest of the crew.
A small gust of wind brushes by his skin, making him shiver. Commander Park's eyes close out of slight fear, a fear he hasn't felt in a long, long time. Although this distress signal shouldn't be an issue, the Commander is feeling anxious. Almost as if sensing there's more to this mission than they see. He keeps his eyes closed, his breathing rushed, his brain scrambling to come up with ideas. However, all that changes when he opens his eyes.
Jimin goes still, his rushed breathing now halting as he takes in the sight in front of him. The battleship is completely stopped, a single figure standing next to the comm panel not too far away. Jimin staggers back, throwing a hand over his mouth. For the first time in four years, Jimin sees him again.
Captain Kim Namjoon stands there... but not as a silhouette.
His body is clearly seen, the smile on his face showing off his dimples, his tan skin shimmering under the bright lighting of the bridge. Jimin's floored, unsure of what to do or say. He's truly speechless, his brain struggling to comprehend why he's here, let alone here in the damn flesh. Of course Jimin's not complaining, he's just confused as hell.
Namjoon takes a step back, motioning to the comm panel. In that moment, Jimin knows what he has to do. He takes a large step forward, coming closer with each movement. Every second he spends getting closer fills Jimin's heart with more and more happiness. Everything feels right. Despite the blaring alarms, insane panic, and possible threat - everything feels okay. Because Kim Namjoon is here. Because Jimin's father is here.
Jimin reaches the panel, Namjoon standing right next to him. He can't help but look at the older man, noticing how different he looks from up close. Jimin softly smiles, looking at the man's hair. He lets out a breath. For the longest time, he thought Namjoon's hair was brown. It's black. Wow... it's black and he never knew until now.
Their eyes lock, the motion around them resuming as Jimin's heart beats faster. His wife looks at him, raising a brow in concern. Jimin looks back at her for a moment, then looks at Namjoon. Obviously the others can't see him, but Y/N gets what's going on right off the bat. Just based on his expression, she knows. Namjoon lets out a breath, keeping his soft smile. However... his next words are what truly shock Jimin.
"I was there."
Jimin lets the words process in his head, then, he nods rapidly, sniffling as tears enter his eyes. The need to hug him is overwhelming, but he knows that hugging a ghost while commanding a whole battleship wouldn't be a good idea, especially not now. However, this time, he knows what to do.
He gives Namjoon a solid nod the late Captain is quick to return, the two smiling at each other brightly. Then, Jimin looks at Y/N, who smiles with him. Jimin looks at her for a few moments before sighing in relief, turning to the comm panel, Namjoon watching closely as Jimin hovers over it. Namjoon is here for a reason... because he knows that Jimin needs to do exactly what Joon did all those years ago.
Jimin's sweaty index finger hovers over the button, his brain a mess as more workers scramble around the room. A distress signal... feels oddly familiar. The memories of Jimin's journey hit him head on, the beginning coming to mind. He was a silver engineer. A no one. Just a Park boy who wasn't supposed to amount to anything. And now... here he is, about to start another journey. However: it's not his own. He lets out a breath, smiling as tears roll down his cheeks. Without another thought, he presses the comm.
"Silver Engineer Park Jihyun... please report to the bridge..."
The Future:
Earth:
Earth ends up alive and well, ran by a whole new set of leaders. They promise to update rules and regulations as often as possible. They take a more active role in the system, putting multiple ambassadors at every civilization and setting up patrols (the Tokyo being a big part of that).
Mars:
Mars fully recovers from the wars in just two years, deciding to help Earth in their quest for peace throughout the solar system. New leaders were elected and together, Earth and Mars combined strength to protect the galaxy rather than tear it apart.
The Belt:
Under Dahyun's leadership, the Belt makes a full recovery from the terrible pirate attacks, poverty throughout the civilizations, and their war with Ganymede. After the death of Jackson, lots changed for them, but even more changed over the years as the strong Martian leader turned the place around. Crime rates plummeted and more jobs were created, leading to a complete change in the Belt.
Ganymede:
Ganymede continued to flourish and is still known as the best place to go to have families. They made a full recovery from the Goliath attacks, even rebuilding many domes that were destroyed during both the Belt war and the alien war. Ganymede is one of the strongest civilizations in the system and it will remain that way.
Triton:
It took an entire year for Triton to be repopulated, but after Earth wiped out every last trace of those creatures from the surface, survivors were found. There were hundreds of them, most hiding underground. They were quick to rebuild a small tribe, the Tokyo a key supplier of resources for them. As time went on, they got more and more powerful, turning back into multiple cities and tens of thousands of people living there.
Seokjin Kim:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Anya Kim
Kids: 2 boys (Chanyeol and Daejung Kim), 1 girl (Hana Kim)
Job: Chief Engineer on the Tokyo
Known for: his cooking, banter with Yoongi, narcissism, dad jokes, windshield wiper laugh, love for Anya, and love of pink aprons.
His future: Jin lived a happy life with Anya, waiting three years after their eventual marriage to have kids. Jin kept cooking for his crew and always stayed positive, wanting everyone to be happy. He learned a lot of lessons throughout the war and his time on the Tokyo, but one thing he never learned is how to get on Yoongi's good side. Jin misses the war and action sometimes, but loves his life as Chief Engineer with his beautiful wife. Overall, he lived a very peaceful life with his wife and children.
Anya Kim:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Seokjin Kim
Kids: 2 boys (Chanyeol and Daejung Kim), 1 girl (Hana Kim)
Job: Lead Researcher on the Tokyo
Known for: putting up with Jin, her brains, being the bad bitch who made Chaeyoung question her existence, being best friends with Sapphire, her courage, her research, and her friendship to Kai.
Her future: Anya goes on to love every member of her crew more intensely than anyone she's ever loved. Overall she had a happy, peaceful life with Jin and her kids, loving them equally (well, she loves Hana a hair more than the other two but shh). She continued to do research on the Tokyo for many, many years. Science has always been her passion, she even managed to create a better formula for removing enhancements, saving thousands from the 'super soldier' enhancement serum once used on Jungkook. Anya is relieved that the war is over and doesn't miss it for a second, she's just grateful she got the chance to have a good life with Jin and her kids.
Hoseok Jung:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Seulgi Jung
Kids: 2 boys (Taeyong and Doyun Jung), 2 girls (Aera and Kiara Jung)
Job: Executive of Medicine on the Tokyo
Known for: his positivity, his sunshine, his excitement over the smallest things, his love for his wife and kids, his skill with technology, and his medical knowledge.
His future: Hoseok lives every day to protect his children no matter what. At any moment, if there's danger around the corner, he would gladly lay down his life for them. He's a very loving and caring father, one of the most gentle ones around. His love for Seulgi never dies, it actually gets stronger throughout the years. Even as they grew old, got wrinkles, and gray hair, he still found her gorgeous. Together, they stayed on the Tokyo to keep their jobs and work with their beloved crew. Hoseok used to miss the war, but now since he has four children, he would never, ever go back. He lived a successful life, even helping Anya create a solution to the enhancement problem. He wouldn't trade what he's done for anything: he truly loves his life.
Seulgi Jung:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Hoseok Jung
Kids: 2 boys (Taeyong and Doyun Jung), 2 girls (Aera and Kiara Jung)
Job: Lead Navigator on the Tokyo
Known for: her ability to stay calm under pressure, her leadership abilities, her map skills, her change from professional as fuck to friendly as fuck, and her love for art.
Her future: Seulgi was more than just a navigator on the most popular (and deadly) battleship in history, she was also a successful artist. A few years after having her last kid, she decided to start her own business on social media making videos showcasing her art. She even sold many of her pieces, all of the money going straight to several charities around the system. Seulgi lived a successful and peaceful life as both a navigator and an artist... not to mention she was an amazing mother too. Her kids grew up to look and act just like her, and she couldn't be prouder. Every once in a while she missed her younger self during the war, but she's also glad that her life is the way it is. Peaceful.
Baekhyun Byun:
Status: Alive
Lover: Eventually married to Aurora Byun
Kids: None
Job: Chief Coordinator on the Tokyo
Known for: his piloting abilities, his sacrifice to keep Y/N safe, blowing up a whole damn battleship, changing his anger into something more positive, reconnecting with his family, and loving the crew.
His future: Baekhyun doesn't pilot much in the future, he simply sticks to building ships rather than flying them. He misses flying, but the chances he does get to fly feel ten times better than if he were to fly all the time. Not only does he build ships, but he also writes full books about his adventures. It's safe to say many of his books were bestsellers and absolute hits throughout the solar system. His prosthetics eventually worked well enough for him to run short distances. He can never dance or run for extended periods of time again, however he's happy with just walking. Baekhyun always hated war, so he doesn't miss it for a second. He much prefers his fun, sweet life with his gorgeous wife Aurora.
Aurora Byun:
Status: Alive
Lover: Eventually married to Baekhyun Byun
Kids: None
Job: Citizen Life Manager on the Tokyo
Known for: her patience, her hair (and her love of said hair), loving Jungkook and Taehyung more than anything, sticking by Baekhyun's side through it all, and her love of beautiful sights.
Her future: Aurora, although often homesick, loves living on the Tokyo with her husband and the crew. She's grateful they let her join the crew and now adores each and every one of them. She started a special system with her friends and family back home, arranging for visits and video messages whenever they could. Many of the others, such as Baekhyun, Jimin, and Seulgi, followed in her footsteps. Aurora is glad she never fought in the war, but gets upset whenever she thinks about what the war did to Baekhyun. She's eternally grateful for all the opportunities she's been given and will continue to be the best wife she can be to Baekhyun.
Yoongi Min:
Status: Alive but grumpy
Lover: Married to Sapphire Min
Kids: 1 boy (Jae Min)
Job: Head of Communications on the Tokyo
Known for: sleeping, being grumpy, his love of alcohol, his dark past on Kepler, his enhancements, his sense of humor, his banter with Jin, his love for Sapphire, and his expertise with weapons and technology.
His future: Yoongi loves Jae more than he thought possible. At first, he wasn't sure how he felt about kids, but after having one he knows he wouldn't trade his little buddy for the world. Yoongi couldn't be happier with his life. Despite all the bad shit he's been through, he still got the peace he deserves. He's settled down with Sapphire, raising their boy to be respectful and fun. The best combination. Yoongi truly loves Sapphire more than anything, and he's so glad he said screw his enhancements. Yoongi even offered himself to Anya for research on enhancements and what Kepler did to him. Although it took over a decade, eventually, Yoongi got his enhancements removed thanks to Anya's help. Yoongi used to miss the war but learned soon enough that he would never go back. He doesn't need it, all he needs is his wife and son... forever.
Sapphire Min:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Yoongi Min
Kids: 1 boy (Jae Min)
Job: Chief of Medicine on the Tokyo
Known for: sleeping, being grumpy, being the female version of Yoongi, her savageness, her badassery, her love of Jae, her skills with guns, her scientific and medical knowledge, and her never ending love for her husband.
Her future: Sapphire may have joined the crew later in their journey, but she's certainly one of the most beloved there. Although grumpy like Yoongi, she grew into the life of the party, often arranging them too. Her love of alcohol gives Yoongi a run for his money, and she always tried her best to come up with new medicines and techniques for doctors to use. She became a very successful doctor over her years on the Tokyo, her expertise in the medical field led to patients always feeling confident in her abilities. Sapphire misses the war sometimes. She misses the action and adventure, but doesn't miss the 'oh, we could die' aspect of it. Although she's no longer a lead researcher or an action hero, her life is exciting enough for her... because she has Yoongi and Jae. That's all she'll ever need.
Taehyung Jeon:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Jungkook Jeon
Kids: 4 boys (Jung-hyun, Mireu, Sehun, and Dal Jeon), 1 girl (Suri Jeon)
Job: Head of Agriculture on the Tokyo
Known for: being horny, having a great sense of humor, being an absolute baby (sometimes), being the most adorable member of the crew, his skill with technology, his quick-thinking under pressure, and his love for his sons and daughter.
His future: Taehyung eventually removes his enhancements to join Jungkook in the 'no enhancements gang'. He loves his sons and his little princess more than anything. They honestly give Jungkook a run for his money. His little princess is absolutely adorable, and she's from Triton. That thought always comforts him whenever he's feeling down. He has a little girl from Triton. How cute. Taehyung picked up guitar and saxophone over the years, Suri following in his footsteps soon after. He taught her how to play guitar, the two often making jokes about the smallest things. Tae is close to all his children, but Suri and him are so close it's a little insane. As a kid, she'd curl up in his lap and watch anime with him. When she was a teen, they played video games until 3 a.m. every other night. Even throughout adulthood, when Suri went back to Triton for her own career, she came back as often as possible to visit her parents. Taehyung never misses the war. Ever. He was never made for war, which is why having so many kids gave him a purpose. Tae loves every one of his children and Jungkook more than anything, and he lived a long, beautiful life with them...
Jungkook Jeon:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Taehyung Jeon
Kids: 4 boys (Jung-hyun, Mireu, Sehun, and Dal Jeon), 1 girl (Suri Jeon)
Job: Executive on the Tokyo
Known for: being horny, loving alcohol almost as much as Jimin, smiling like a bunny, his enhancements, his sense of humor, his strength, his determination, his friendship bracelet with Y/N, and his admiration of Taehyung.
His future: Jungkook continues to act innocent even though he's not. Over the years he never lost his flame. He stayed energetic and happy as much as possible. In his words 'it's impossible not to be happy when a man like Jeon Taehyung is by my side'. Taehyung and Jungkook went on to make music together for several decades, doing it as much as humanly possible. Their songs and albums were huge successes throughout the system, inspiring many other young artists to pursue music careers as well. Jungkook often took his kids to the daycare and helped take care of the place. He adored the daycare more than anything. So much so that even though he was an Executive, he got offered a spot as a manager there. Of course he accepted and took care of kids for a living (alongside his music career). His kids grew up to be strong, determined, smart, and of course - attractive. Jungkook couldn't be prouder. He doesn't miss the war much. He misses his enhancements here and there, but ever since Tae got them removed, the pain of losing something he held so close to his heart wasn't bad anymore. Tae was there through everything, and Jungkook couldn't be happier. He lived the best life humanly possible, and even found Tae in his next life and fell in love all over again...
Y/N Park:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Jimin Park
Kids: 3 boys (Namjoon, Jungkook, and Minseok Park), 3 girls (Jasmine, Irene, and Sirena Park)
Job: Head Pilot on the Tokyo
Known for: being horny, her determination, her love for Jimin, her piloting abilities, her compassion for others, her love for the crew, her friendship bracelet with Jungkook, and her strange disliking of pretzels.
Her future: Y/N goes on to have many kids. Not because her and her husband necessarily wanted them, but because Jimin kept getting horny and forgetting Y/N wasn't on birth control anymore. Her poor uterus. It was painful. Very, very painful. Regardless, she lived an exciting life. Jimin and her always found new things to do with their kids. Whether it be going to the theatre to watch a movie, going to the greenhouse to play with their three dogs, or going to the cockpit and teaching her kids the basics of flying. Jimin would always play peekaboo with them when they were younger, and as they grew up he played more games like tag and hide and seek. He was such a good father to them, and she couldn't be prouder of not only what he accomplished over the years, but what he did as a father to her kids. Y/N never misses the war, she loves her long, beautiful life that she lives with Jimin. Everything is perfect. Absolutely perfect, and she couldn't be happier.
Jimin Park:
Status: Alive
Lover: Married to Y/N Park
Kids: 3 boys (Namjoon, Jungkook, and Minseok Park), 3 girls (Jasmine, Irene, and Sirena Park)
Job: Diamond Commander of the solar system and Commander of the Tokyo
Known for: being horny, loving alcohol more than Dionysus, repopulating the solar system single-handedly with the help of his wife, being a strong commander, being the only Diamond in the system, his good looks, and his love of reading all things nerdy.
His future: Jimin had an eventful life to say the least. He donated most of his money to charity since he didn't need it, so he went from a billionaire to a millionaire really quick. Even then he cut it close. Jimin didn't have anything to spend the money on. He bought a lot of clothes at designer stores when they stopped at different civilizations, but that's about it. Regardless, Jimin never thought he'd be okay with having so many kids, but he loves every single one of them more than life itself. After child six, Y/N's poor uterus needed a break so she went back on the pill until she hit menopause. It's safe to say they hired a babysitter a lot. Jimin finds himself the most attached to Namjoon Park. Maybe it's because he's the firstborn, or maybe it's something else. Jimin never misses the war, especially after kids. He loves them all so much. Not as much as his wife, but he's just grateful that his life goes on for a long, long time. Despite his clumsiness and love of alcohol, Jimin actually beat the average life span, Y/N doing the same. The two lived a long and healthy life together, loving each other forever and always. And, in their next life, they found and loved each other again...
Namjoon Kim:
Status: Reincarnated
Lover: None
Kids: None
Job: To take care of Jimin and Y/N
Known for: being himself.
Future summary: Namjoon appearing on the bridge in such a full form wasn't just a coincidence. That was his last moment with Jimin forever, but not because Namjoon left, because he got reincarnated into Jimin and Y/N's firstborn, Namjoon Park. As the kid grew older, more and more of the late Captain's soul went to him. Although he has no more memories of the life he once lived, he has the same personality and very similar looks to his prior self. Namjoon Kim can never speak to the crew again, however, both Jimin and Y/N know that their son is too similar to the original Namjoon for it to be a coincidence. Together, the Park family goes on to live a happy life knowing that Jimin, Y/N, and Jungkook are finally reunited with their best friend.
The End
~~~
A/N: YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT, NAMJOON IS ALIVE HE GOT REINCARNATED INTO JIMIN AND Y/N'S FIRSTBORN!!! HE'S NOT THE SAME EXACT PERSON BUT HE'S GOT THE SAME TRAITS DON'T TOUCH ME I'M CRYING
This story did better than I thought it would since I've never used Wattpad before. So I'd like to thank everyone for that, for supporting it. Everyone who read even one chapter helped, and I appreciate you very, very much. Writing is my dream in life and to have so many people support it across so many different sites makes my heart melt. This is my most popular work on all three sites I'm on at the time of writing this end note. On Quotev it has... it... it has 6.9k reads (not me dying of laughing over this-) and on ao3... it also has 6.9k. Wait what's going on I understand that Adrift is a story straight from hell but this is too much-
Okay okay anyway, although some of my other stories such as Arrogance (one that's not on this site... sorry) have well over 11k hits on ao3 alone, this story by far got the most feedback. There's over 1k comments combined and that honestly warms my soul (Raven you're a redhead you don't have a soul-). I'd take getting fewer hits and a lot of comments over lots of hits and few comments I'm ngl. I love reading over the comments whenever I'm feeling down, it honestly brings me lots of smiles and laughs, so thank you for that too.
I completed this story on Q and ao3 all the way back in June so the emotional high of finishing this story has faded by now, but my lord this will always be my crown jewel of stories. I've written 17 ffs at the time of writing this note but this one will always be the best. The Jimin I wrote in this story can't be topped. He can't. I love him sm both irl and in this story.
I don't really have too too much to say other than thank you for reading, I miss this story dearly and it's by far the one that took the longest to write (not just because it's 150 chaps, but because of the length of the chapters. I have a story that's 62 chapters long but it only took three weeks to write because the chapters weren't long). Anyway, thank you so much for reading this story and this A/N, and I'll see you guys around. I'll be posting some stories I have on Quotev onto my Wattpad at some point, so look forward to that! If you want to follow I'd love you forever but if you don't I won't be mad. Thank you so much - I'll see you soon!
P.S. you nice, keep going
~Raven
