28 | COME CLEAN

NAYARA SIGHED AS she watched Beauty and the Beast. She was about to take another bite of her ice cream when Barry took it away from her. "What are you doing?" Nayara asked him, confused.

Barry stood in front of her with arms over his chest. "You got to get up and talk to Peter." Barry told her. Nayara shook her head.

"Absolutely no!" Nayara replied. "He clearly is mad at me. I mean he hasn't reply to any of my calls and text this past three days. It is not like he is very busy." Nayara added.

Barry sighed. "Look, you know him well. Don't you?" Barry asked her. Nayara nodded at him. "What would he do if he heard that somebody was from a different world?" Barry asked her.

"He would think it is cool, but that is if they are within this universe...which I aren't." Nayara told him. "And we also have to considered the fact that maybe he might be mad at me for not telling, which is kind of a douche bag move from him because I at least would be very comprehensive if I found out he was Spiderman." Nayara explained to Barry.

"Do you love him?" Barry asked her.

"Why are you asking all these questions, Barry?" Nayara asked him.

"Do you love him?" Barry repeated.

Nayara looked down at the floor. "I do." She mumbled weakly. "But I mean, maybe this is for the best. He can go and be with MJ because I know that the love of his life is her. It's like you and Iris, Clark and Louise, Batman and Catwoman. No matter what happens and no matter the amount of arguments, they fall back together again." Nayara explained to Barry.

"Maybe he doesn't know the full story. Why don't you tell him what happen? Worst that could happen is that he ignores it and continues to be mad at you. So what?" Barry said to Nayara.

She gave him a sad smile "When he first met me I had called him by his real name, because I had just arrived to this world. I didn't know where I was so I had bluntly said that everyone knew his name." Nayara said.

Barry chuckled, shaking his head. "I know you would have said something like that." Barry pointed out.

"And you want to know what I did next? I tried to pull off his mask and in response Peter took me his arms and started to swing me across New York. Then I saw the Avengers' tower and that was how I knew I wasn't where I was supposed to be anymore." Nayara told Barry. "He asked many times to know about me. He even...he even got to the point in which he was concerned by me because he said I was worried all the time. I was worried about the Avengers and at that time the only ones who knew were Emma, then later Steve, but I was afraid to tell anyone because I didn't want to be thought as crazy and left alone." Nayara explained to Barry. "He even said that he was not going to leave me...Peter is not one to leave a promise...but I don't know." Nayara added.

"Talk to him. Tell him." Barry told her. "What if that is for the best? And is he tries something I will run him to the middle of Australia and he wouldn't bother you anymore." Barry added.

"Do you think so?" Nayara asked him again. Barry nodded at him. "I mean, Steve accepted it, but I don't know if Peter is willing to listen." Nayara added.

"You would never know if you never try." Barry told her. "Maybe he is just in shock, and that is why he is not answering. Maybe he is trying to get around it." Barry added. Nayara smiled and hugged him.

"Thank you." Nayara said before pulling away. She stood up from the couch and ran up the stairs.

. . .

Nayara looked at the apartment and sighed. She looked at Barry who was standing next to her. "What is it like? Telling someone you care for the truth. Do you feel like you are going to puke at any minute? That you have pressure on your chest?" Nayara asked Barry.

Barry softly pushed her to the doors, encouraging her. "Go. I will be right here waiting." Barry told her. Nayara sighed about to open the door but she ran back to Barry's side. "Why are you back?" Barry asked her.

"I will do it, tomorrow." Nayara said, starting to walk back to the apartment, but Barry stopped her with her super speed. He sighed, opening the door to the front, and used his super speed to drag Nayara up the correct floor. He knocked on the door and left not letting Nayara process what had just happened.

Before Nayara knew it, the door was opened by a woman. Barry!, her mind yelled in anger. "Hi, how can I help you?" The woman asked her. Nayara presumed she was the famous Aunt May.

"Hi, I'm sorry. I am looking for Peter Parker? I'm Nayara. Umm...I'm his friend and I just wanted to make sure he was okay. He mentioned he was sick." Nayara lied to Aunt May.

"Oh, you're Nayara?" Aunt May asked her. "I'm May, Peter's aunt. How have you been? I hope you are doing well after graduation." Aunt May told her. "There are too many crazy people out there." She added.

"Oh yeah. It is quite shocking." Nayara added.

"The only thing missing is door being opened to multiverses." She joked. Nayara let out a shaky laugh. "Oh, come on in. Please." Aunt May told her, and Nayara accepted.

"I'm sorry if I was intruding. I would have called. I normally called." Nayara excused herself. May lead her to Peter's bedroom. She knocked twice before opening.

"Peter? I'm going to the grocery store. You got a visit." May told her nephew. Nayara sighed behind Aunt May.

"Who is it?" Peter asked from his place in the bed. May moved away and pushed Nayara inside. Nayara gave a small smile to Peter. "Oh!" He said, trying to hide his bruised eye. But he failed.

"Hi." Nayara sighed. She looked over her shoulder to May but she was gone. She shyly turned to Peter. "We need to talk, Peter." Nayara whispered to him. Peter stood up and closed the door. He paced around the other side of his room, not looking at Nayara. "This is why I didn't want to tell you. I didn't know how you will react. I didn't know how anybody would react for that matter. I would have ended in an asylum." Nayara said to him.

"That's how you knew my identity." Peter told her, looking outside his window.

"Well, every kid, teen and adult pretty much know your identity. Just like they know Iron Man's, Cap's, Thor's. Although, I think you are more famous than them. Especially in younger generation." Nayara told him. She tapped her foot softly on the floor. "I didn't know where I was when I arrived. That was why I was about to remove your mask. I thought you were this actor trying to act as Peter Parker but turns out you are the real Peter Parker." Nayara told Peter.

Peter remained silent. "You got to let me explain, Pete. There is so much you don't know." Nayara as she sat down in his chair. Peter turned around, looking at Nayara. "You have no idea how scared I was to be in a total different world with nobody to hold onto." Nayara added. "I knew who you were, that was why I knew how to defeat your villains. Hell, I know almost all of them – if not all of them – because I have read about them endless time." Nayara told Peter.

"Read?" Peter asked her. "Did you lied all the time?" Peter asked her.

"No. I just kept things from you, the Avengers. I only lied a little bit when you took me to see Carol and Steve, because I couldn't tell them how I knew where I was. I didn't know how to tell them that they were my heroes. The people I hold on to when I went through tough times. How was I going to tell Carol that I knew every single detail from her life? How she got her powers? How I know she is a super fan of Star Wars and that her cat was named Chewie after Chewbacca?" Nayara said to Peter. "I never wanted to lie. I was never a liar, and I'm such a good one now. It terrifies me. That was why I was so silent all the time? I was afraid that I would say something that would reveal where I am from originally. I was afraid that nobody would belive me." Nayara explained to him.

"What did you tell Sharon?" Peter asked her.

"I..I-I told her she could never compare to her aunt Peggy. That she would be Steve's downfall because...she is the one who murders him in the comics. I got mad that she called me a mole. I would never work for HYDRA. I hold too much respect for Steve, their victims and myself. They are a terrorist group, Peter. They are murderers, and heartless people. I know how to differentiate from good and evil." Nayara told Peter. "Sharon...she sends the Winter Soldier and Crossbones against me. I...It was my fault that Steve got shot when he got kidnapped. They were using him as leverage. They were trying to make me tell them everything that I knew, and I knew that I couldn't because then hell would break loose. I didn't want that at all." Nayara explained.

Nayara let out a sarcastic laugh. "I held so much anger towards her for what she had done to Steve, and I let that change my life." Nayara sighed. "I knew by reading what Killgrave, or Purple Man was capable of. That was why I panicked when the Avengers were going after him. I didn't want them to get hurt, and under his spell. That was why I knew about Jessica Jones...and I even lied straight to her face just so I could try and find him." Nayara explained to him.

Nayara looked down at her hands. She knew that not being honest with Peter had not worked. Now it was time to come clean and tell him the truth. What she didn't knew was the Peter was more than willing to listen, because that was all he ever wanted the truth.

"You told me that you weren't going to leave me if you found out the truth. I'm not telling you this to make you feel guilty. It is just to show you how much I knew what would have happened if you knew. I kept things to myself because I was scared. I didn't know what could happen. I know so much about this world, but I couldn't really use it. Every time you told me you felt like you weren't a good hero or you didn't know your future I wanted to scream at you and tell you how big your future is. How much success you were going to have. How you are destined to do such great things." Nayara told him. "I was reserved because I was scared that I might slip, just like I did with Sharon. It was also because I didn't know what the Avengers would do if they had found out about me. I was terrified, Peter." Nayara whispered to him.

Peter looked at her, watching how her eyes became slightly teary. "I might have said that Steve was one of my favorite Avengers, but one thing would always be true. Which is that you were the first one that made me laugh after seeing the X-Men and the one person who tried to help me even if I sounded like a freak. I loved you for it, and I even love you more now which I never thought possible. I'm sorry if you are mad at me, because I understand and-" Nayara's word were cut up by lips being pressed against her.

It took a few seconds for Nayara to realize it was Peter. Her eyes widen at the realization, and without hesitation she kissed back. She pulled away, looking at Peter in silent. "I love you." Peter whispered to her, before kissing both of her cheek. "I love you so much." He whispered again before kissing all of her face quickly.

Nayara let out a soft laugh. She jokingly pushed him away. "Now I have made this weird, by telling you that I have read about you all my laugh the other day." Nayara whispered to him. Peter leant again and gave her a soft kiss. "I don't know if that is you telling me that you don't mind or that you didn't listen." Nayara said to him.

Peter knelt in front of her so he was almost the same height. "I actually like it. It makes me sound like a legend of something." Peter replied, sending her a brief smile. Nayara relaxed at the sight of it. "Cool. I mean my girlfriend is from an entire different universe. That's cool." Peter told her.

Nayara smiled. Now she was the one to leant to kiss Peter. She pulled him closer by putting both of her hands on his shoulders. When she pulled away, she could see the dazed look on Peter's face. "Now that was a reaction that I was not expecting at all." Nayara whispered to him.

"I love you. You being from another universe couldn't change that." Peter told her. "It was a big news, you know. I-I needed time to get my head around it." Peter added.

"You weren't mad?" Nayara whispered to him. Peter shook his head. Nayara was about to hug him when the voice of Aunt May appeared.

"Nayara would you like to stay home for lunch?" Aunt May ask her. Before she could reply her phone started to ring, signaling a text.

Nayara looked down at her phone, seeing a text from Theodore telling her that the machine was built. "I would love to, but my mom wants me home." Nayara told her. Then she realized her words. "I mean, my guardian, Emma." Nayara told Aunt May. The woman nodded in agreement. "Thank you, though." She told her.

Nayara hugged Peter goodbye. She was about to go when Peter took her hand. "Umm...was I like...famous or something?" Peter asked her.

"Well, yeah. There were movies about you. TV shows, shirts, socks...action figures." Nayara said, in thought. "I mean, every girl fell for you after watching Spider-Man." She added.

"I bet you were one of those." Peter joked. Nayara smiled in response and walked away. "Where you?" Peter asked her.

"Goodbye, Pete." She said, closing the door behind her.

"She is pretty, and polite." May told her nephew with a small smirk. Peter smiled at her still with a dazed look. "She has you wrapped around her fingers." She pointed out before walking away.

Nayara walked down the stairs with a big smile on her face. As she closed the door behind her, she noticed Barry smirking at her. "What?" She asked him.

"I'm guessing it went well. No crying and you got that love-struck face." Barry joked.

Nayara smacked him on the arm. "Oh please, you get that same look every time Iris appears." Nayara replied to him. "Theodore has a surprise for us. Now to the lab." Nayara said, pointing at head. Barry rolled his eyes, taking her arm before super speeding to the said lab.

. . .

Nayara opened the door to the lab using her fingerprints. Then her eye scan. When it did, she saw Kara already waiting for her inside. "Theodore told you were on your way here. I got the call." Kara told her. Nayara smiled at her.

"What's the surprise?" Nayara asked her.

"I think she would have told you if she knew." Barry answered, walking between the two girls.

"You are getting too sarcastic mister." Nayara replied back, shaking her head. "Is Batman like as tall as you or taller? Does he have like a lot of muscle?" Nayara asked him. "Does he also always talk with that deep voice he uses to intimidate people?" Nayara asked, imitating the Batman voice. Kara held back a laugh, while Barry chuckled.

"Oh god, he better runs when he sees you." Barry said, shaking his head.

"Have you ever bene beaten up by Wonder Woman?" Nayara asked him.

"I haven't, but I defeated my cousin many times." Kara told her.

"That I'm not surprised. You are way stronger than him. I would love to see that fight. A friendly fight not actual fight because I would be concerned for you safety." Nayara told her. Barry send a small smile to Kara who was shrugging.

"Would you ever fight Superman?" Barry asked Nayara.

"Hell yes! If he ever threatens Kara, if he is under a spell or something, of course I would. But you see, I would be smart about it. I would go on and take some kryptonite and spray it around and then I would hit him with a metal bar, because I don't want to damage my delicate hands, and defeat him." Nayara explained to them proudly.

Barry shared a quiet panicked look with Kara. "I'm suddenly really concern on what goes in your mind." Barry told the girl.

"It's just Superman. He is not that intimidating. You want to know intimidating? Look at the Wakanda female warriors. Those are indestructible. They scare me, but I admire them at the same time." Nayara explained to the two of them. Then she saw Theodore. "Hi, what is the surprise?" Nayara asked him.

Theodore nodded for her to follow. He kept his eyes on Barry who was following Nayara closely while silently looking at the gadgets that Theodore had built. Nayara noticed how Theodore was viewing Barry, so she decided to introduce them, even if they had already met.

"Theodore, this is Barry. The Scarlet Speedster who saved my life." Nayara said, pointing at Barry who in return send a small wave to Theodore.

Theodore opened a door, and Nayara's mouth hanged open when she saw what was in front of her eyes. Nayara walked softly near it, her hand touching the cold side of it. "Is this it?" Nayara asked him.

Theodore nodded at him. "Yeah. At least that what I think." Theodore answered her.

"What is this for?" Barry asked Nayara.

"The thing to bring you back home." Nayara said, nodding towards it. Barry came near it and expected it. "Is it working yet?" Nayara asked Theodore.

"No. I still haven't found the way to work. It needs a big source of energy." Theodore told her.

"What if you run it?" Kara asked Barry.

"Like people pedaling away to create energy?" Nayara asked Kara. "Well, that might work...but it is still dangerous for Barry. He runs too fast and he then boom! No more Barry." Nayara said, making an explosion gesture with her hands.

"Actually, there are other ways." Barry said in thoughts. "Do you still have the plans, Nayara?" Barry asked her, and she nodded at him.

"You know how to build one of those?" Theodore asked her. Barry nodded in response. "I might need actually an extra hand, and it pays well. For this and for other projects." Theodore told Barry.

Barry pointed at himself. "Are you asking me to work for you?" Barry asked him.

"To work with me. Yes." Theodore told him. Nayara gave an encouraging look to Barry, who gladly accepted the offer. "Actually, the other project is for you, Nayara. You might want to look at it." Theodore told her. The elder man led them down another hall and opened a new door.

Inside there was a giant space with water around it. The tanks with the water went all around the room. Theodore then pressed a bottom on his tablet and giant targets appeared. "It's a training center." Kara told him, walking closer to it.

"What is the water for?" Barry asked, viewing it from a distance.

Nayara send a confused look to Theodore, who smirked. "I talked to Hank, Nayara. He recommended that you trained so...here it is." Theodore whispered to her. Nayara smiled back at him, shaking her head.
