[42] The midst of battle

The clash between me and Wyndham was nothing short of a spectacle. We were both speed type fighters. As we moved at breakneck velocities, we left trails of dust and debris in our wake. The audience could hardly keep up with the flurry of our movements, their eyes darting back and forth in an attempt to follow the high-speed duel.

Wyndham's rapier, charged with the power of wind, sliced through the air with deadly precision as he launched a series of rapid strikes aimed at me. Each swing of his weapon produced a sharp gust of wind that roared across the battlefield. Me, however, remained unfazed by the relentless assault. My MS, with its exceptional speed and agility, nimbly dodged and parried each of Wyndham's strikes.

My MS was a blur, my blade gleaming in the light as he countered Wyndham's attacks with his own ferocious assault. The two of us appeared to be evenly matched, our weapons clashing in a cacophony of metallic clangs and sparks that illuminated the battleground.

As the battle continued, we found themselves locked in a stalemate, our blades crossed and pushing against one another. Wyndham's eyes locked with mine, and for a brief moment, the two of us shared a look of mutual respect and determination.

With a sudden burst of strength, I broke the deadlock, shoving Wyndham's rapier aside and quickly following up with a swift strike aimed at his opponent's torso. Wyndham, taken aback by the sudden move, narrowly managed to avoid the attack, but it was clear that I had gained the upper hand.

While me and Wyndham's high-speed duel unfolded, Rumble, Isa, and Kuro found themselves engaged in an intense battle against Veritas. The air crackled with energy as the four fighters clashed, their elemental powers on full display.

Veritas gracefully wielded her hand in certain motions, unleashing a barrage of powerful gusts and whirlwinds in an attempt to keep her opponents at bay. Her control over the wind was exceptional, as she skillfully manipulated the air currents to not only attack her foes but also to deflect their incoming assaults.

Rumble charged headlong into the fray, his shield raised to deflect Veritas' wind-based attacks while his gun fired off a volley of energy bullets. Each shot was expertly aimed, forcing Veritas to remain on the defensive and preventing her from mounting a counteroffensive.

Isa, with her spear in hand, demonstrated her mastery of close combat. She moved in sync with Rumble's barrage, waiting for an opening in Veritas' defenses before lunging forward to strike with lightning-fast precision. Her movements were fluid and efficient, showcasing her years of experience and training.

Meanwhile, Kuro hung back, her sniper rifle aimed and ready. She carefully surveyed the battlefield, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. As Veritas struggled to fend off Rumble and Isa's relentless assault, Kuro saw her opportunity. With a deep breath and steady hand, she pulled the trigger, sending a high-velocity round flying towards their formidable foe.

Veritas, sensing the incoming projectile, quickly raised a barrier of wind to deflect the shot. However, the combined pressure from Rumble, Isa, and Kuro's attacks began to take its toll. Veritas' movements became less fluid, her defensive barriers less effective, and the strain of the battle was starting to show.

As Rumble and Isa continued to press their advantage, Veritas found herself becoming more and more exhausted from their relentless onslaught. It was clear that she was reaching her breaking point, but she still managed to hold on, maintaining her barrier and deflecting the incoming attacks.

Seeing Veritas struggling, Kuro knew that it was time to strike. She repositioned herself, carefully lining up her shot with her target's vital points. Her eyes narrowed, her breathing slowed, and her finger tightened on the trigger. In a fraction of a second, she fired her sniper rifle, sending another high-velocity round hurtling towards Veritas.

With her energy waning, Veritas tried to raise another wind barrier, but her response was just a fraction too slow. The bullet slipped past her defenses, striking her squarely in the chest. The impact sent her crashing to the ground.

The audience held their breath, watching in awe as Veritas struggled to get back on her feet. It was clear that she was down, but not yet out. However, Rumble, Isa, and Kuro remained vigilant, ready to continue the battle if necessary. But, as the seconds ticked by, Veritas' strength finally gave out, and she collapsed, defeated. The crowd erupted into cheers and applause as Rumble, Isa, and Kuro shared a victorious glance.

Wyndham's attention wavered as he noticed Veritas being taken down by the combined efforts of Rumble, Isa, and Kuro. His worry visibly written across his face. And this momentary lapse in focus proved to be a critical mistake.

Me, being the ever opportunist, immediately recognized the opening and seized the chance to strike. As Wyndham's concentration faltered, my MS moved with lightning speed, closing the distance between them in the blink of an eye. With a swift, powerful swing of his blade, I aimed a precise, devastating blow at Wyndham.

Caught off guard, Wyndham struggled to react in time. He managed to summon a gust of wind in an attempt to deflect my attack, but his response was too slow. The blade connected, slicing through his defenses and sending him hurtling backward through the air.

Wyndham crashed to the ground, the wind knocked out of him. He struggled to regain his footing, but the damage from my strike had left him disoriented and weakened. As he staggered to rise, it became clear that he was unable to continue the fight. With a mixture of frustration and resignation, Wyndham conceded defeat by raising a hand.

The crowd's cheers grew even louder as I stood victorious over my fallen opponent. I spared a brief glance toward his teammates, who had also won their respective battles, before refocusing his attention on the remaining enemy combatant: Amare.

Amare sneered, her prideful demeanor still intact despite the odds turning against her team. She looked over at my team with disdain, addressing them with a mocking tone. "So, you've managed to take down my teammates, but don't think that means anything. You're still just a bunch of underlings and a... pingu. You don't stand a chance against me, an elemental of my caliber."

With a cold, haughty laugh, she readied herself for battle, her palms glowing with magic. "Now, allow me to demonstrate the true power of an elemental, and show you why we're superior to your kind."

Amare's eyes flashed with determination, and her body began to glow with a vibrant aura. A pair of ethereal, light wings sprouted from her back, casting an otherworldly glow on the battlefield. Surrounding her, six energy orbs of different elements – fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, and ice – hovered menacingly.

"You're about to witness something few humans have ever seen," Amare taunted, her voice echoing with power. "This is the true might of a multi-elemental! Prepare yourselves!"

She raised her hands, and the energy orbs began to pulse and swirl around her, picking up speed as they prepared to unleash their combined force on me and my team. The arena held its breath, sensing the impending clash of powers that would determine the outcome of the battle.

Rin's voice came through the communication network, a note of urgency clear in her tone. "Detecting massive energy! Run! Everyone!"

Me and my team didn't hesitate. We scrambled to put as much distance between themselves and the impending onslaught of elemental fury as possible. However, we knew we wouldn't make it far enough in time.

Biggy, understanding the dire situation, made a split-second decision. He piled on top of us, and used his back to shield us.

Amare unleashed her combined elemental assault, sending a devastating wave of energy crashing towards my team. The force of the impact was monumental, the ground beneath them shuddering as it was bombarded with the power of all six elements. The arena roared with the sound of the elements clashing and Biggy's metallic body groaning under the strain.

As the dust settled, it became clear that Biggy's heroic act had saved my team from certain defeat. However, the valiant pingu had been knocked out of the fight, his form lying battered and motionless on the ground.

Q: Do you feel bad for Biggy?
