The Book

It was the end of lunch. Students flooded to their classrooms. (Y/N) and the jocks went to separate classrooms. She walked into the library, since her next period was study hall. She browsed the books not really looking for anything. But as she passed it, a book caught her attention completely. It had no title. Instead, it had a black rose. She ran her fingers over the uneven, leather cover, feeling it raise at the velvet areas that created the flower. Without even opening the book, she could tell the topic was of death.

(Y/N) was always fascinated by death. For what reason, not even she knew. Death was more of the start then the end in her opinion. She knew would come, but not like others. She opened the book, filled with wisdom and myths.

Goth watched from afar. It might sound creepy, but it was kind of his job. Never had he seen someone read three pages into that book. Not even himself. He muttered to himself.

"How are you so interested in death itself?"

"Nighty!"

Nightmare, who had been reading felt his soul skip a beat at the unexpected hug. He rolled his eyes.

"(Y/N). If I had a dollar for every time you gave me a I'd be a millionaire."

"But if you get a heart attack, you could die!"

Nightmare sighed.

"I don't want you to die!!"

(Y/N) squeezed Nightmare's neck bone tightly to prove her point. Nightmare tried to pry her off, but her grip was iron tight.

"(Y-Y/N) I will i-if you s-suffocate me l-like this."

"Ah! Sorry!"

She let him go and he panted heavily, filling his nonexistent lungs with air. She rubbed his back to help the air flow. He gave her a reassuring smile, telling her it was okay. She smiled then took her seat as the other students came in.

"Okay class. This period we will talk about ghost myths."

This sparked the curiosity in the class.

"Does anyone know some?"

(Y/N) raised her hand.

"Yes (Y/N)?"

"They say that people who died of suicide are never truly dead. Their ghosts will take a physical form as a human. Their ghost would never be at peace until they find someone who cares and loves them. Mostly the people whom killed themselves for bullying reasons would have the ability to turn any foe to friend. When the people that care about them realize their friend is a ghost, they're usually too late. Unless the ghost chose to say goodbye."

(Y/N) finished and left the classroom speechless. Such wise words coming from such a childish human? Nightmare had no idea she was so in that depth.

"How does she know that it's the truth?"
