Something about the Past

Jessica's Pov.

-is she his daughter? - Trish asked after I explained what happened, I just nodded - she is far stronger than him, isn't she?

-the fact that she controlled me proves it - I answered heading to my desk, grabbed the whiskey bottle and took a large sip of it, sitting in the desk - and I thought I was free

At the same moment we heard the door opening and closing almost immediately, just to see Malcolm looking scared and tired

-i got your text, what's the emergency? - he questioned painting, like if he was running seconds before, I leaded him to my bedroom and he looked at the little girl asleep on my bed then at me - who is she?

I explained and his expression changed to one of pure fear, he glanced at Trish looking for answers or a bit of comfort, she looked back and then both of them looked at me looking for answers

-she said he was a good father - I mumbled looking at the ground, maybe it was because he was left behind by his parents

-how can a psychopath be a good father!? - Malcolm almost shouted in rage

-he was the best father I could have asked for, he was my father - someone answered for me, we turned to see Charlie holding her right arm with her left hand - he took care of me

He walked towards me and gave me a letter

-read his last request, out loud - she ordered going to the kitchen - NOW Jessica

-"and as last request, my little princess, find Jessica Jones, at the current circumstances, she's your guardian, you'll be safer with than you would be on your own or with me, with love, your father, good night purple" - I looked at my two friends right in front of me, they were as blank as the paper I had in my hands

-how do you live just with whiskey? - she asked entering the office one more time, she glanced at Malcolm - you, broom hair, take the money on my jacket and go to the market, buy some food and tea - she watched as Malcolm obeyed her command and then looked at Trish - Walker, do you have experience in closing wounds?

She answered with a nod and Charlie showed us her right arm, which was bandaged but still full of blood

-close this one for me - she ordered and Trish began to remove the bandage, showing an open cut exactly where the bandage was

-who did this to you? - I asked, worried about the fact that she must have only fourteen years

-a bitch, some years ago, I kept the scar, as a reminder - she said, a nostalgic expression appearing on her face

Charlie's Pov.

Flashback On:

Like always, the bullies were following me, the biggest girls on school, but I decided that I wouldn't run anymore, that was a huge mistake, that day, "the bullies' boss" had a piece of her class windows' glass with her, so they held me and started to cut my arm

-STOP IT, NOW - I shouted as loud as I could and suddenly, she stopped - let me go

The other girls freed me from their arms, for the first time, I was crying, but not just in fear and in pain, but in pride, I moved my hand and the piece of glass was pointing to them

-Stay away from me, forever - I ordered and ran to the ward, as fast as I could, the nurse sutured the cut, but as you can say, she was not the best in suture, but leaving it behind, I got back home, my dad hugged me, so proud

-I knew you'd be powerful my little princess, come with me, I'll teach you how to use it

And he taught me, I was eight years old and he taught me to understand and use my powers

Flashback Off:

Jessica looked at me, understanding, she pressed her lips together and I felt a strong squeeze in my arm

-don't tighten it that much, Walker - I almost shouted in pain to the blonde woman trying as she could to bandage the wound in my arm, I glanced at Jessica - I'm living in your house

She looked at me, silent but with curiosity, I giggled, she looked like a child

-the house was one of the things my father left for me, but I can't live on my own, not like that - I said looking at my arm, now with a new bandage - thank you Trish

-you want me to live with you? - I nodded

-is better like that knowing you're my guardian now - I answered - and if it does not mess up your work routine, consider it the second part of my father's last request
