Chapter 9 Double Date
Adrien smiles as he takes Marinette home from the movies. He knows it is something he will remember for years to come. He sighs as he returns home a few minutes later. He shall count the days until he sees her again.
A few days later, Nino and Alya are about to go on a date. The two call up Adrien and Marinette.
"Guys, what do you all think about a double date?"
"It sounds like fun," Adrien answers.
"I would love it."
"Dude, dudette sounds fantastic. See you both soon."
Right at 2 pm, the doorbell rings at the Agreste house. Adrien answers it. He smiles when he sees Nino with Alya. He heads out the door without a word. He is glad he has his wallet and house keys, along with his phone with him.
In a few minutes, the threesome arrives at Marinette's place, and Adrien rings the doorbell this time. Marinette grins when she sees him. She heads outside. She smiles when she realizes Nino and Alya are already in the car. She waits for Adrien to finish opening the door for her. She nods her head as she enters it.
She makes sure to properly close the door. "Where are we going?"
"You will see when we get there," Nino replies.
Alya thinks great I do not even know where we are headed. She does recall Nino told her to wear boots though she has no idea why.
Upon arrival to the destination, Marinette sighs a sigh of relief that she wore boots as well. She gets out, followed by Adrien, and Alya. Nino comes out last. The four go to the check in area where the boys pay. Now, the friends are ready for the journey up the mountain.
As Marinette, Adrien, Nino, and Alya begin the long hike up the mountain, they have a great time.
"Look, guys, I meant to bring water. I did pack it inside my canteen, but was so excited that I accidentally left on the kitchen counter next to the sink."
"Do not worry, Mari, I brought extra waters," Adrien explains.
"See told you he would come prepared," Alya teases her.
"It seems like Adrien thinks of everything," Nino adds.
"Good gracious, what is that there?" Marinette asks.
"Do not look now, but I think it is a hawk eating a snake." Adrien answers.
"S-Snake?" Marinette almost faints.
Alya rolls her eyes. "Is it necessary to be so overdramtic?"
Nino playfully nudges Alya with his elbow.
"Ow, Nino, what did you do that for?"
Adrien catches Marinette. He carries her to the left of the path as the others shrug their shoulders.
"Shh, just let them be now."
Alya nods her head in agreement.
Adrien sets Marinette down now that they are a long ways away from where he saw the snake. "Mari, it is alright now."
Marinette looks up at him. She smiles.
"Whoa, we got this far, already."
"Yes, we sure did although I did most the walking." He scratches his head.
"Goodness, you carried me."
"Yes, well, it seemed like the best idea at the time."
A rustling noise in heard in a tree to the right of the path way.
"What was that Adrien?"
"I do not know. I will keep you safe from whatever it is though."
Nino almost fell out of the tree he climbed into so he could get a better view from it.
Alya snickers as he struggles to hang onto the branch. She climbs into it, and pulls him towards her.
Adrien and Marinette glance around them. When they do not see anything they continue on the trail. Each glad for the others company. Adrien holds her hand, but she does not mind. The two arrive at a small rock. This is where they decide to stop to rest for a bit.
