"I want you all to get out your homework from last class," Mrs Rita commanded, "and I would like you to briefly present your work in front of the class."

Some of the students grumbled while others nodded. Soon, each and everyone presented their points. Mrs Rita kept on writing something in her book based on their grading. Most of the students presented common points while others presented their opinion. Very few did not prepare anything at all. After everyone completed their presentations, Mrs Rita waited for a few minutes and then cleared her throat, making sure everyone's attention was on her.

"Ok children. I'm pleased that most of you presented well. I've got news to tell you all. We, the teachers, have been planning to take you to the site of Mahabharat. Since many of you have presented well, you are selected for it." Mrs Rita then took her notebook and read the names of 20 students. "All these students are selected. Please ask permission from your parents and tell me tomorrow." she said, just as the bell rung. All students rushed out of their seats, towards their homes.

"I can't believe our words came true!" exclaimed Nivitha as they walked back home.

"Now if our parents let us, we can surely go." said her best friend smiling.

At dinner time, Nivitha's parents and brother were surprised to see that their daughter(sister) who usually was very chirpy, was silently eating her food, not uttering a word.

"What happened, dear?" asked her mother, frowning at her.

"Ma, Pa, Niketh, our teacher has told us that there's a trip to Mahabharat's site. Can I also go?" Nivitha blurted out.

Nivitha's parents shared a look.
"Ok, dear. But you will have to use 3/4 your own money if there's fees." They finally said.
"3/4!?" she exclaimed.
"Of course. You do participate in many competitions and events at school dear. You do earn some money from that. And do participate in some fairs or publish some of your stories. Just save the money than spend it for food or other things you spend it on."
Nivitha agreed.
While she was doing her homework, the phone rang and she took it. 

"Hey, Is this Niv?" came her best friend's voice.

"Yes, Shiva." Replied Nikita.

"Did your parents agree?" asked Shiva.

"Yes!" Nivitha exclaimed. "Even though I have to pay 3/4 the amount. Did yours agree?" 

"Yes!" exclaimed Shivni.

"I guess it will be so much fun." 

"Yeah. It would be a memorable adventure." agreed Nivitha.
Little did she know how true her words were going to be...

So that's the third chapter. Sorry for the late update. And I do know that it was small and a bit rushed but  I did that since it's all needed for the plot. The coming chapters may get interesting. Hope you liked it. Thank you.
