First of all...what are spirits?

Spirits are very similar to ghosts. They are people who died and are somehow left behind in this world. They're like a memory of the person in a weird sort of way.

They could be left behind because of unfinished business, they could want to protect their family and possibly revenge. If revenge is the case then they should be stopped, karma will get care of revenge, it's never good to kill anyone, even if you're a ghost or monster!

How are they different to ghosts?

Not much is know about the differences but this is my personal opinion on it:

Spirits don't have a body, they are just souls visiting for possibly many different reasons. I think spirits are mostly good.

You can hear them in a spirit box which is used to hear spirits.

While ghosts didn't want to pass through to the other side for some reason or just couldn't, spirits did pass through and they come back to watch and possibly talk to people. Spirits mostly visit their family to see how they're doing but they could also do bad things.

I'm thinking this is mostly true but it's also a bit of my opinion so if you think or have proof that it's different then please comment!

what do you do if you see one?

It depends on what the spirit is doing.

If the spirits is nice, just looking on or possibly trying to talk to you then they're most likely a deceased family member or someone you knew. Or it could just be trying to communicate. If the spirit isn't showing signs of hurting you and is generally nice then don't do anything to it. It might just go away after a while.

If you see a bad spirit that wants to hurt you then burn the body or any belongings it may have. Like a ghost, you first have to find out who it is. This should be a little easier thighs beaches spirits usually visit you for a reason, try are probably someone that knew you or was interested in you.

Can I help them cross back over?

Possibly.

If the spirit is nice then just gently talk to them and sloth them. Then say for them to just let go.

If this is someone you knew then it can be hard but it's necessary. The spirit most likely won't be happy here and if it crosses over then it will have a much better time ( assuming they go to heaven and that they're nice ).
