Untitled Part 2
The metal hood of the car slopes up into a crumbled pyramid. Perched on top, the white creature stares over the freeway ledge where a delivery van has broken through the concrete and now dangles over the abyss.
While swishing its thick foxtail through the hazy air, the creature in question pays the destruction no mind. It tilts its head to the side, and from both ears, two large tail-like obstructions jiggle with the movement. Even with its ears "blocked" by such oddities, the faint sobs of a girl still reach its awareness.
It bounds off, hopping unto the cracked window shield of the car and onto the roof before leaping off of it and narrowly avoiding a black spreading pool upon the ground. Its pure white paws land in the miniscule spaces between shattered glass shards. It only takes an eighth of a millisecond to calculate the most optimum route through the shards, and then the creature is off, prancing through the minefield.
The sobs descend into weak, wet coughs before quieting completely.
Elegance is sacrificed for speed as the creature bounds over the remaining distance and leaps up the side of an overturned car. As it stares down from the gaping hole where the door used to be, dull amber eyes gaze in the creature's direction.
So, the human is still conscious then.
"Oh my, are you alright?"
The stench of blood combined with the way the human girl's legs lie completely still while the rest of her body shivers in shock makes the answer obvious; however, humans tend to be more at ease when one shows concern, so creature ensures that "his voice" portrays the proper pitch and tone for the appropriate level of worry.
The girl says nothing, only reaching out a hand up towards the oddity before her as her next sob strangles and dies.
Such a trusting specimen.
"I'm afraid this body isn't strong enough to pull you up."
Tears gather in the corners of the girl's eyes.
"But don't worry! I can still help you. All you have to do is make a wish, and with the power of your hopes I can give you the strength to pull yourself out of the wreckage."
"I...I..." The girl's thinning voice forces the creature to finish quicker than usual.
"However, I should warn you that there is a price. If you enter into a contract with me, then you will become a Magical Girl whose purpose is to fight the evils of mankind and the darkness of the universe!"
The choice had already been made the moment he offered her salvation from certain death. The creature could have told her that she would have to fight a god and it is over 97.86% chance that the information would not have registered in her decision.
"I don't, I don't want..."
Her wish, as are the wishes of all other children in this type of circumstance, is almost a certainty as well.
"I don't want to..."
A thud. That's all it takes for the girl to look away from him and to the front of the car. A purse has fallen from where it had been struck by a thin piece of metal. Red drops hit the severed pink strap.
The child stares, dull eyes clearing, growing wide as she whimpers.
"Mom...Dad?"
"Unfortunately, both your parents are deceased, and, if you don't hurry, you will be to in around twenty-six seconds."
The girl bursts into tears.
"Mami Tomoe?"
He uses the name that he has gleaned from three days of observation.
"I can't help you if you don't make a wish!"
The girl's gaze drifts back up to him. Tears slide down her face.
"I don't want them to die."
They're already dead.
"I want my Mommy and Daddy back."
She doesn't say "I wish," but the raw emotional intent boils beneath her plea.
"Very well, Mami Tomoe, your singular yearning shall be granted, and the world will gain another savior in the birth of a new Magical Girl."
The obstructions dangling from the creature's ears move and the fingerlike structures at the end of them reach down towards the girl. A blinding, golden light surges out of the gaping hole.
