As if being thrown into a tight cell wasn't bad enough, Lloyd was inside with a huge ice dragon that looked ready to tear him apart. Or so it seemed. Zane may have regained his memories but he was still unable to communicate with anyone, he tried desperately to belt out one English word to no success. "Could you at least kill me without making such a big deal about it?!" The green ninja snapped, shoot his snout with an energy blast. "You sure became interested in me."

Zane hissed, covering up his snout with a wing. "I'm trying to tell you, I'm Zane! The emperor is just an ice sculpture!" He roared, it was loud enough to crack the cell next door. "There has to be some way to tell him, if the ground was soft enough I could write with my tail. Lloyd? You have to understand me, you have dragon blood."

However Lloyd came rushing at him, both arms ablaze. He would have given him a nasty blow to the gut if he wasn't scooped up by the former nindroid's tail. "Lloyd please! Just look at me.." He pleaded, much to his shock the green ninja stopped.

In fact, Lloyd stared directly into the soft blue eyes of the dragon. It wasn't the same cold, muted blue of the Ice Emperor's, the dragon's eyes reminded him of a sunny sky. "Zane?" He mumbled, placing a palm on his snout. "Are you... Zane?"

"Yes!! Yes Lloyd, it's me! I'm Zane.. I.. I am Zane." Tears fell from his eyes, relieved that his old friend had finally recognized him.

"But how? I know we can summon elemental dragons, but I don't think Wu ever taught us how to transform into one."

"It was the scroll it-wait. You can understand me? When I changed, Vex told me I could only growl and snarl in this new form. Was that just another one of his lies?! My entire life he led me to believe I was just his tool to freeze over everyone!"

"Sounds like a master manipulater, like Chen back on that island. Who is that guy anyways? I thought you were the only master of ice around here."

Zane was about to respond when he noticed Lloyd had a tail growing out of his gi. "O-oh my! I didn't think this was contagious.. You're becoming a dragon as well! Oh Lloyd, I am so sorry.." He squeaked, putting him down. "How did this happen? Or did I awaken something in you too?"

Brushing some snow off his hair, the blonde ninja swished his newfound tail around. "Looks like being near a fellow giant reptile is making my heritage come out, like what happened with dad when the oni attacked. But how did the scroll make you change?"

"I attempted to summon my elemental dragon, something went wrong and the scroll trapped me in this form. If I had it with me I could try to focus on being a nindroid again, I hope so anyways. What if I'm unable to be my old self again because I had to live so long like this?"

Rubbing his snout, Lloyd looked at his transformed friend. "I'm sure you'll be you again. Even if it takes a million years. Hm? I wonder what's behind that wall you cracked."
