XI.

Two writers, @TDOROKI and @BalladPhoenix (I don't want to tag them because I'm shy hehe) started a challenge in which writers describe themselves the way they would for their OCs.  I'm going to do this for myself, Lina, and another friend to get myself back into the groove for writing.  I can try to do one for you if you want, but I'm not confident in describing people I don't know super super well, if that makes sense.

Welp, here it goes.  (Try and guess who is who.  I'm curious.)

She who holds the sun in her hands approaches the edge of the cliff with a strong presence.  Her feet stop where the world below her can stare in awe.  The child of the stars yeets the sun into the sky and turns around to descend the cliff.  After all, she has an appointment with two others.

Every step she takes lights sparks into the sky, though her gait is gentle and humble.  Her mouth spits fire and passion, though her eyes are warm and kind.  It is as though a flower has wrapped itself in a shell of diamonds.  Her hands are covered in soot from holding the sun, but it does not bother her.  She holds her head high and shows no pain, if there is any.  For the heck of it, she counts the number of sticks she passes and the number of rocks she kicks.  She looks at the sky and points out clouds in the shape of a dying walrus and a herd of moose.

At last, she reaches the bottom of the cliff where the entrance to a cave lies.  It is not ominous; birds chirp from nearby trees, blue flowers blossom at the mouth of the cave, and the sound of a creek echos from within.  Without hesitation, she enters the cave.  It is not too hot or too cold, and the fact that there is not a slight breeze tells her that one of the others has not arrived yet.  On the walls are various words and images engraved.  In all capital letters is the word "MORMON" scratched into the right side.  On the left side are drawings of some sort of bug that she does not want to think about.  Stalagmites do not block the path because one of the others cleaned them up, and stalactites are not a threat to taller individuals.  Deeper into the cave, fluorescent rocks sparkle like the stars she is so familiar with, and she knows that she is almost there.

At last, the girl filled with the universe and stardust arrives to a much more open area within the cave.  The ceiling soars high, and the space is wide.  Now there are more rocks, and the path is no longer as clear as it is near the entrance.  There are a few ponds, and there are even some plants, though most of the vegetation is in the center of the area where there is an opening in the ceiling for the sunlight to pierce through.  The sound of a creek from earlier is much louder now that the girl can see it a few yards away.

"So Ven is the last one."

The girl turns to the side and sees the other one squatting on the ground and dragging a stick against the soil.  Unlike she who's hands are covered in soot, this girl's arms and legs are caked in dirt.  This girl who looks like she dug herself out of a hole somehow holds herself up with a different confidence than the fire girl.  She is not like a flower encased in diamond; she is a mix of various elements that form steel.  Her eyes cut through like a knife, and her mouth is not angelic.

"Luu!  Hello," the sun child greets.

"Hello, Cali," Luu responds.  "You wanna hide and ambush her when she comes?"

"Sure."

And so they hide and wait for Ven to arrive.

After a while, they give up on hiding and start drawing on the ground.

Thirty minutes later, they pick at unwanted weeds.

Another thirty minutes later, they start a bonfire.

An hour later, they give up on Ven and just start catching up on life.

Finally, they hear running.  They get into position, hold their breaths, and wait.  In comes Ven, panting and sweating.  Cali feels the breeze that she could not feel before.  She who rides the wind has arrived.

Ven does not stay in one spot.  She drifts from place to place with that carefree grin and enthusiastic giggle.  She cools down a tense atmosphere, and she brings in warm air when it's too cold.  Ven is a free bird soaring through the sky and escaping the grasp of gravity, even if it is just for a little bit.  She is a leaf that, though fallen, can explore unknown grounds and new territories without looking back.  That sparkle in her eye is engraved there, and her presence is captivating.

"Huh?  Am I early?"

Cali and Luu pounce on the unsuspecting girl and pile on top of her.

"Okay, so very early?"

Cali laughs and Luu sighs.

"You missed a lot, but that's okay.  We were talking about what to do with the tiny garden in the middle.  Luu wants to add a tree, but I don't really like plants," Cali explains.

"So?" Luu retorts.  "I'll be the one maintaining it all anyway.  Besides, I go down here the most."

Ven adds, "Actually, I put the most effort into this place, Luu.  I'm the one who drew all those bugs after all."

"Right.  They're ugly, by the way."

"Hey!"

Though Ven arrives two hours and forty-seven minutes late, time passes as though she has been there the whole time.

No one comments on the little boy whom Ven brought who awkwardly hangs around the mouth of the cave.
