Karim was flying a car which used to go to the height of a coconut tree. The houses of the middle class, even the highest skyscrapers popped their advertisements or brand placements with holograms. Karim was disturbed by the lights of it as well as the other cars who were driving on the way, whilst on the road, the traffic was more that it looked muddy, contrary to the sky. Otherwise, it was raining heavily within the gray clouds where it was surrounded by cold smokes and neon lights with the dirt of the corrupted lands. The richest of the flying cars looked more Lamborghini than a Mercedes Benz with the wheels tucked in and the extreme air that was coming out beneath the cars whilst the normal cars were just a combination of the old Ford Anglia with the new model of the small Lexus jeeps which were quite round to understand off.
Until, Karim sees a suburban apartment where he pressed the brakes and parked beside the footpath. As in the main city, it had more traffic, compared to his apartment, which had the silent aura with the sounds of the heavy rain. On the further note, he closed his eyes and gazing in the cloudy sky. The raindrops wetted his cloths as well as his short, grey hair. He raised his hands as of a wing with a feeling of freedom. He felt that, he was safe and sound because for the most society, human beings are perfect, but little do they notice: every human has a flaw.
After few moments of breathing his own relief, he went up the stairs and jumped through the window by opening its shutter. He switched on the lights. The room looked as unclean as it was not neat enough. The newspapers were not clean as most are stuck in the board with pins where it was written:
A FAILED COP, COMMITTED SUICIDE
FAMILY SHOT DEAD, BROTHER LOST
HERO OF THE YEAR
HERO OR ZERO?
Karim looked at the board. His tears burst out while he was reminded of the office politics as well as the tabloids that emotionally distracted him. Despite it, those newspapers were important for him. He felt the unfortunate time while he was going to his flashbacks of his father and mother, was shot to death by the masked men. Furthermore, he remembered that, he was raised by his uncle, Abir when Karim had an ambition to join in DRFA. As Abir disappeared, he started to join the DRFA at the young age of seventeen while the corrupted government like Zabeer started to rise.
In the present, his laptop was switched on the desk while the old case files of him were floating around the air while the table fan was behind. The emotional disturbance could lead a man to an ultimate destruction. On that case, he just continued to weep silently that reminded him of his childhood.
It was a beach. Karim was playing with his brother, Adil by making a sandcastle. It was of the regular ones with a red and blue flag around it. The parents were romancing in the sea. Until, he saw a gunshot by the younger Zabeer.
"Father!" cried the young Karim.
Zabeer forcefully took the toddler Adil to his car. Until, a masked figure secretly took the child while Zabeer was smoking outside the car. It all happened on Karim's presence. He was shocked but did not inform Zabeer for a reason.
The other day, Abir fostered Karim while no one knows the whereabouts of Karim's brother, Adil. He was raised and educated as a brilliant young man with a great potential. Until, Zabeer started to become reluctant on the law led to the unemployment and poverty of people.
In one of the protests, a lot of people, even the richer ones were disguised as the beggars. It was raining heavily on the point. Zabeer arrived with the grand presence, ironically the protesters, threw the rotten garbage to Zabeer. He was terrified with the rage and closed the gates of the parliament office. The clock ticked, while they heavily pound the gates and the police hit the angry mobs heavily. Since then, while Karim was studying in the wood-ish, brown room in a small lamp. He had a silky and curly hair while the squared glasses just reflected him. Everything was brighter with him. On that moment, he was waiting for Abir for a moment but Karim realized that something was wrong. Suddenly, the television and the news were on:
"This is Asian Television, coming live. The Aftermath Student protest is increasing the jeopardy by disappearing and brainwashing the people..."
All of a sudden, the gunshot was heard and the television sets switched off and even the internet went slow. A sound of a knock on a door was heard. When the innocent Karim opened the door, Rehman- a young officer entered. When he said "Abir is..."
Since then, everything went dark and brooding through the world towards him. He sat on the bed, bare cloth, except wearing a loin cloth. He was watching news on the laptop that distracted him from even harnessing the moment of joy in the rain.
Meanwhile, in the TRFA Headquarters, the hostel room that was full of military bunk beds on the line. Saquib was sitting on the bed, looking down by pointing with his head. He was lost. He was not sure if he was happy with his leadership. He was also looking at the picture of a happy, playful baby in the crib with his mother. He was missing the moment as he deserved more than he wanted. On that while, Rubina noticed him, sitting and felt a moment.
"Son, is there anything wrong?" asked Rubina calmly and softly, putting Saquib's hand in shoulders.
"I miss my mom. Looking at this photo gives me hope and joy but all of a sudden. I am missing her" said Saquib.
"I lost two of my moms too, as the other one, during the student protest where a lot of people disappeared. I know, that you are the strongest person, I have ever seen, no matter how goofy or happy you are, there is a choice that you need to make by helping yourself. We all are here for a reason, maybe, we sometimes bicker our destinies. But this time, you may be the leader of the assassins but I know, that the humanity inside you does bug off. We are doing for humanity, aren't we?" said Rubina.
"We may serve the country, but an orphan like me, needs a mother like you" said Saquib.
"But what about a brother like me?" smiled Masud who heard their conversation while entering the room.
Both had a group hug. TRFA was not an organization but also a family.
When the DRFA was first opened, it was running smoothly in the criminal investigation department. Until, Abir forced himself to set the rights to the notorious government, Zabeer, due to his 'polite' nature. Now, the DRFA turned corrupted and demotivated a lot of brilliant officers. It's now taking the darkest turns ahead.
Suddenly, to the present area, the alarm sounded loudly. Rubina, Masud and Saquib quickly jumped out and rushed through the laboratory. They watched the footage of the cyborgs who were guarding the examination room that the children and teenagers were weeping in a tortured manner, while the others were brainwashed and writing constantly plus they bullied the tortured ones. The invigilators were careless of the fact that the kids were mentally hanged to death.
"The children!" exclaimed Masud.
"The ones who supported the government are quite brainwashed. As most of the question papers glorified Zabeer, even the common people are irritated of it. Most even committed suicide. When they even fail, they are killed in the name of an accident" explained Rubina.
"Those tortured souls!" whispered Saquib with a lot of empathy.
They rushed through the pipe behind the lab and jumped down through the cave. Saquib commanded all of the assassins to be ready and go to the cave. While Rubina and Masud were in the commanding room, Saquib also wore his usual hoodie dress, sunglasses and mouth masks from the wardrobe of the cave. Therefore, he switched on the lights where it had a lot of old Harley Davidson motorbikes with a touch of a cylinder where it could lead to invisibility.
A lot of people took their respective bikes and flew out of the shutter that opened automatically while the bikes reached out of its destination. They switched on the back cylinders and NOS that sped quickly to the rate of invisibility that even the flying cars could not notify the things.
On the while, Karim was looking at the window, while sitting on the bed. He looked at the twenty 'shooting stars' crossing through the moon. The lights were off that the moon was beaming plus the sky turned navy blue. The environment of the city looked more stempunk than cyberpunk.
"Are they shooting stars or something new? It's a different look!" exclaimed Karim calmly.
On that while, the exam hall looked like a central jail where the lots of cyborgs were dressed as guards. It was bound with walls and thorns above it. For those children, life was never a bed of roses. The misconduct of the invigilator created a fuss over that the senior teenagers were forced to shock in the writing while the others were brain dead. Outside of the exam hall, in front of the walls, it was covered by some trees and bushes. Even they ask for food or toilet, they could not go and the exam room turned dirty even shitting their pants. Where are the Rebels now?
