Assistant - Severus x Gilderoy x Reader
I know I am changing things a little at the end of the scene from the movie; but I hope you will forgive me.
Gilderoy smiled one of his celebrated smiles, as she made her way into the Great Hall where a long table, which was surrounded by no small number of curious students, had been set up so that the famous......or should that possibly be infamous, Defence Against the Dark Arts professor could show them how to duel. And as soon as she had been informed that the primped, preened and coiffured peacock that took great delight in telling anyone and everyone, whether they wanted to know or not, that he was the winner of the Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award five times in a row. That, and he had also invented an Occamy egg yolk shampoo, which it turned out was too dangerous and expensive to be sold; but of course, he never mentioned that, was to duel a certain dark and moody Potions professor; she had not been able to refuse the incredibly over the top invitation that the Ravenclaw alumni had sent her. The witch finding the notion that he, of all people, thought that he could possibly win this battle, the most amusing thing that she had heard of in some time. The attention of everyone turning to her, as Gilderoy made his way to the end of the table, and smiled one more time, just on the off chance that she had forgotten about his previous one from a few seconds ago.
"Ahhhh, my dearest (Y/n). I am so very pleased that you could join us........" The blonde continued, gesturing over to the seat that he had set up in just the perfect spot for her to see his impending victory. A hushed murmur going around the children, as she made her way to the seat.
In truth, they knew little about the beautiful witch that Dumbledore had explained at the beginning of the year, was there to view the school, and sit in on classes over the coming year; other than, that just like Gilderoy, she had been a Ravenclaw and that her intelligence and creativity had often been compared to the founder of the House, herself. So perhaps that was why there were so many rumours about the witch currently circulated the castle. That, and despite the fact that she had been a Ravenclaw, the way that she dressed made everyone believe that she was, in truth, as much Slytherin as Snape himself. Her long, elegant, tightly fitting black gowns becoming quite the thing of interest, for boys of a certain age.
"Now......gather round....gather round......." Gilderoy called out, after gently running his fingers through his hair just for (Y/n)'s undoubted pleasure. The children all moving forward to get even closer to the table.
"Can everybody see me........? Can you all hear me..........Excellent......" (Y/n) doing her best to not roll her eyes; sure, that she had never met anyone that needed this much attention in her life.
"In the light of the dark events of recent weeks, Professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little duelling club, to train you all up in case you ever need to defend yourselves as I myself have on countless occasions..........for full details see my published works........." Gilderoy continued. (Y/n) doing all she could to not role her eyes once again; sure, that the only danger the DAGA professor had ever seen, was running out of his own rotten shampoo. The rather ridiculous man pulling the cape from his shoulder and throwing it to a group of girls that seemed to think Gilderoy was the, as the Muggles would put it, best thing since sliced bread.
"Let me introduce my assistant........" The word assistant bringing a slight smile to (Y/n)'s lips.
"Professor Snape......." Gilderoy introduced, holding out his hand to the far end of the table. The children leaning forward as the Potions professor, who had forgone his usual flowing gown, came to stand atop the table.
"He has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry, you'll still have your potions master when I'm through with him....never fear.........." The strutting peacock continued, winking in (Y/n)'s direction.
"I trust I have your favour, my jewel........?" He enquired, as he and Severus came to stand in front of the spot where she was sat. (Y/n) fighting back her urge to be sick, sure that if he called her one of those pet names again, she would cast a spell that made those award-winning teeth, drop out. That, or someone might just do it for her.
"I don't think that would be right, do you, Gilderoy? I am here merely as an impartial observer, nothing more. And I do not believe that it would be fair to Professor Snape to favour you, just because we share our House........"
"Of course, of course, quite right me dainty dumpling. It wouldn't do at all......." Lockhart reluctantly agreed. Before he turned his attention to the waiting Snape, who had not said a word. The two men standing in front of one another and raising their wands, before quickly lowering them again and then bowing slightly. This, followed by them turning, then taking the relevant number of steps away from one another. (Y/n) finding herself moving a little forward in her seat, as the two men turned to look at one another, wands ready to cast their spells. Gilderoy counting out.........
"One, two, three....." Before Severus called out "Expelliarmus" and Gilderoy was thrown a number of feet onto his back. (Y/n) doing her best to hide her amusement behind her hand, as the children laughed.
"An excellent idea to show them that, Professor Snape. But if you don't mind me saying, it was pretty obvious, uh, what you're about to do; and if I had wanted to stop you, it would have been only too easy......." The pompous professor said, as he managed to get himself up from his prone position and make his way back over to Severus. A rather unladylike snort coming from the seated witch, causing both men to look at her for a moment.
"Perhaps it would be prudent to first teach the students to block unfriendly spells....... professor......." Gilderoy looking uncomfortable at the dark professor's words for a moment, until the façade was raised once again.
"An excellent suggestion, Professor Snape..........." He agreed. (Y/n) getting to her feet, as Gilderoy called out for a pair to duel. Severus coming to stand behind her as he moved from the table.
"Not bad for an assistant, Severus........" (Y/n) said quietly, doing her best not to smile, as she was sure he bristled at the term. A wonderful shiver making its way down her spine as she felt him place his hand in the small of her back.
"Assistant.........the man is a buffoon. And if he calls you one of those names again, I'll........."
"Has anyone ever told you that you are exceptionally sexy when you are defending my honour, Severus....? And even more sexy when you are wiping that awful smile of said buffoons face.......Perhaps we should go and discuss those things somewhere a little more private now that Lockhart is preoccupied with the likes of Potter and Malfoy. And maybe you could prove to me that you are, in fact, the master and not the assistant......" (Y/n) continued. Her smile getting broader, as she felt his hand move from her back to grip at hers.
"It would be a pleasure.......Misses Snape........." Severus replied. His voice low, barely above a whisper as he leaned closer to her ear. (Y/n) slowly nodding before discreetly leading her very own dungeon bat assistant, out of the Great Hall.
