❪ ONE ❫ mars wouldn't admit it out loud, but he knows his drinking habit goes beyond healthy. when he first started drinking, he was seventeen and visiting home for the holidays. bored and restless, mars began snooping around the alcohol his mom kept for guests. before he knew it, he was locked in his room with a bottle he had stolen. his mother didn't notice. it's not like she was actively checking to see if her underage son was getting drunk every day.

❪ TWO ❫ mars doesn't cry. he doesn't. it's not because he thinks it's a sign of weakness or because he buys into the "men don't cry" stereotype. he just doesn't cry. tears don't come to him naturally, no matter how intense the situation. in fact, mars probably hasn't cried since the day his father walked out on the family back in 2007. he remembers that day vividly-his father's cold, emotionless goodbye, the echo of the door closing, and the hollow feeling that settled in his chest. since then, he's faced countless hardships and emotional moments, but the tears never came. mars hates this about himself. it makes him feel disconnected from his own emotions, like there's a barrier between him and his humanity. he fears that not being able to cry makes him less human, and that's the last thing mars needs.

❪ THREE ❫ in december of 2021, mars went on hiatus after a serious overdose on his antidepressants. the pressure and weight of his struggles became overwhelming, leading him to that critical moment. the overdose was a wake-up call, forcing him to confront the severity of his mental health issues. he stepped away from his responsibilities and daily life, focusing instead on recovery and seeking the help he needed. this hiatus marked a significant turning point in mars' life, as he began to prioritize his well-being and mental health.
