Interview of Causers
May I know a few words about yourself?
Well, I go by Seolhee (pen name), I like chocolate and making weird and more weird story plots. I can change the plot of a story within minutes so I don't trust myself with the stories I write, hehe. I like graphic designing and I am an Army. That's it I think.
Woah! That's great! When did you start writing either on this platform or in a normal way?
In fourth grade, on paper and here 1 year ago like two days after my Birthday hehe.
Nice! What is your motivation to write?
My motivation is my readers(not kidding) when somebody comments or votes or even sees the book, It makes my day(even though I am slow on giving updates.)
Okay! How did you feel when you got to know that you are the winner?
I was jumping around and hugging random people, I even went to my roof and shouted lol.
Oh, wow! Did you ever face criticism? If yes, then how did you overcome it?
Yeah I did, I think it was kinda harsh (judging myself because I was a newbie), I signed up for a review of my book and my reviewer was pointing out where I did wrong. I was demotivated at first but then I thought that it was for my own good, I wanted an unbiased opinion so I called this upon myself. I changed whatever mistakes I had(including title, book cover and even the plot) so it was a whole makeover of the book and now the reviewer is one of my readers. I'm glad I chose that person as my reviewer, otherwise I wouldn't be talking to you right now.
That's great! How did you come across this genre? I mean the genre of your book.
I was bored(like always) so I was scrolling through random books hoping that even one book would catch my attention but then I saw my bias on one book cover and I was shocked(lol) I clicked on the book and learned that it's called a fanfiction! The plots are more unique and special than the original ones(some of the fanfic plots are still cliché) and I was kind of addicted to it(I still am) and that's the story of how I discovered another genre called fanfictions. I used to write horror stories before so it was quite hard for me to adapt to this.
Nice! What was your opinion about our awards(Tale Teller) and the way we hosted it?
It was great, I like how you guys haven't excluded even one genre (that most of the awards do). The prizes were extremely alluring to drag people in and I personally think that this award skyrocketed.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. How do you handle writer's block situations?
So there are a lot of scenarios where I know the starting and the ending but I don't know what happens in between. Whenever I carry on with my normal day to day chores, an idea just randomly pops out of nowhere and I write it down into the story and I just don't know what happens next. So my only advice is that, forget all about the writer's block and continue with life, an idea will pop out.
Nice thought! I feel the same. Do you plan on taking writing as a profession?
I'm not sure if I have the talent or not but if opportunity shows up, I'm sure I won't let it go.
Oh! I am sure you have the talent! What was the response you got when you first published your book?
I got positive responses when I enrolled it in a few awards (17 to be precise). I didn't care about winning it or not, I just wanted to know if my book is readable or not. And when my book started winning some awards, it built my motivation to write and better myself.
17! That's a lot! Is there any advice you would like to give to teenagers out there?
I myself am a teenager so all the teenagers keep your hormones in check, don't waver here and there. You will have a time to enjoy, my teacher said that if you study the 25 years of your lives then the remaining 75 you will get to enjoy but if you enjoy the 25 years then you have to study the next 75 years. I'm not being an old nosy grandma(sorry not sorry grandma), enjoy your teen days but make sure to study as well. I sound like my mom.
Woah! It's great advice. Would you like to say a few words about our community?
I haven't explored the community enough but I can see it attracts a lot of people, almost every 3rd person I talk to is in the community. Great job.
Thanks. Would you like to join this community?
No, because my situation isn't compatible now.
How did you feel while giving the interview?
I feel excited. I don't know why, I feel like I am about to yeet myself out every five seconds.
I too enjoyed the interview with you. So with this I am done with the interview. It was very nice to interview you. Thanks for your time
