I was so excited.

I mean why wouldn't I be?

IT'S PRIDE MONTH!

I'd put on a light blue crop top and some light green shorts, with dark blue shoes. Velvet, wore a light orange crop top and light red jeans. Morty was wearing a pink tank top and orange leggings. Sally had a dark orange skirt and a light orange crop top.

Ritz, Orchid and Leaf weren't here yet though, so I don't know what their wearing.

Velvet and her friends were talking about what ice cream to get when Ritz, Orchid, and Leaf get here. I didn't have anyone to talk to though, so I stood there feeling kinda lonely.

Eventually, the doorbell rings, I walk over and open it.

Ritz had on a dark blue tank top and dark green shorts, Orchid was wearing a dark pink crop top, and a light pink skirt.

"Hey!" Ritz grinned.

"Hi. Come in guys." I step out of the way so they could come in.

They walk in, and Leaf suddenly comes bolting up the steps. "WAIT! Don't shut the door!" She runs in and her and Velvet hug and squeal. Leaf had on a hot pink headband, a purple shirt, and dark blue jeans. It clashed well with her green skin and hair.

Ritz frowned. "Why so many girls?"

"Same question." I say.

"Hey, why don't I just call my friend Nick?" He asks. "And I also know someone else who would probably want to come."

"SURE!" I say, grinning.

He grabs his phone and started dialing. He talked to someone, telling them to meet us at the ice cream shop, then did the same to someone else. He put his phone back in his pocket. "Alright, they should be meeting us at the ice cream shop around ten."

"Great!" I say. "It's nine forty, we should get going."

"Yup. Hey girls! Let's go!" He calls to the five girls who were squealing like five year olds. They turned their heads at Ritz's voice.

"Already?" Orchid asks.

"Yup." I say. "Now let's go."

We take Velvet's car and drive down to the ice cream shop. We sat down at a table outside to wait for the friends Ritz had invited.

Soon, I saw a car pull in and a guy came jogging over, he saw us and ran over. His hair was a dark indigo, and he had blue skin and electric blue eyes. And he had on a green shirt and lighter shorts. 

"Hey Ritz. What's up?" He asks.

"Not really anything. Guys, this is Nick, Nick, this is... to many people to name." Ritz says.

"Where's your other friend?" Velvet asks. "I want my ice creammmmmmmmmmm!"

"He sould be here soon." He said, glacing at his phone, probably checking the time.

Then, as if on cue, another car pulled in and a guy with purple skin, corol hair, and green eyes. He had on a dark pink shirt and dark blue jeans.

"You invited James?!" Orchid whispered.

"Look," Ritz starts. "He's clearly going through some shit, remember what i told you on the last day of school?"

"Oh yeahhhhhhhh..." Orchid says.

What? What did he tell her?

"So don't freak out." He says, giving us all serious looks. "Got it?"

Orchid nods, Velvet shrugs, Leaf and Morty glance at each other questioningly, and Sally just blinks.

He stands up and jogs over to James and it looks like they say something to each other before walking over.

"There's a free seat right here. Anyways, so there's Velvet, Sally, Morty, Veneer, Orchid, Leaf, and you already know Nick." Ritz points out everyone as he sits down. 

"Uhh... hi." James mutters.

"Hi." I say. Doing my best to sound nice. But with the things he's said it was a bit hard.

He sits down next to Ritz, and Ritz waves to a waitress. She walks over and we all take our orders. I ordered a small bannana split, Velvet, Orchid, and Leaf got chocolate cones, Sally and Morty both got sunday's, and Ritz also got a small bannana split.

We all ate while making light conversation. Ritz mostly just sat there quietly eating his ice cream, occasionally making a comment about what someone said. But for most of the afternoon, he was quiet. Even James, who seemed to be really shy, was joking and laughing about with everyone. So what was going on with Ritz?

"Hey," I nudge my friend, who was now starring at his empty bowel tapping his spoon in it lightly. "What's up?"

He shrugs, muttering what sounded like: "Nothing..."

"You sure?" I ask gently.

He nods, not moving his eyes from the empty bowel.

I sigh. "Hey guys, me and Ritz gotta use the bathroom. See you in a bit." I stand up, grabbing my friend's wrist and bringing him into the small over air-conditioned bathroom. I turn around and face him. "Are you sure you're alright?"

He looks at his feet, his arms folded up against his chest as he rubs them. "I mean... things for me could be worse I suppose."

"What's going on? You know you can tell me. I'm your friend." I say, grabbing his shoulders.

"Anna's sick." He says.

"Who's Anna?" I ask.

"My dog. She's really old, and I'm worried that.. that... I found out this morning." He says.

"Oh my God." I say, before pulling him into a hug. "I'm so, so sorry to hear that."

"It's not your fault."

"I know but... I'm sure she'll be okay. How about I come over later and we can like... watch a movie? A movie about dogs?" I suggest.

He chuckles. "A movie about dogs."

"Yeah!" I say.

He laughs even more. I swear he has the most adorible laugh. "Okay."

-An hour later-

We all decided to go out separate ways, me and Ritz went to his house, Nick invited James to go somewhere, Sally and Morty walked off, and Velvet, Orchid, and Leaf went someplace.

When we did eventually reach Ritz's house, (we had to walk due to the fact that Velvet had the car) I heard barking.

He opens the door and I'm met with a huge American bulldog.

"HOLY SHIT!" I exclaim as she jumps right onto me. I wasn't all prepared for her heavy wait so I went toppling down the stairs.

"WOOPS!" Ritz exclaims. "Guess I should've warned you about how big she is!"

"Well YEAH!" I say. "You could'a told me you had an AMERICAN BULLDOG! How the hell are you worried about her being sick?"

"I don't know." He giggles cutely, scratching the back of his neck.

"Well can you help me get her off of me?" I ask as I try and push her face away from mine.

He laughs and tugs her collar, she responds with turning around and jumping onto him, he staggered backward and into me and in seconds we were both down on the pavement once again.

"Me and your dog are not friends!" I laugh. He'd fallen right onto me, and when that realization hit me I felt my face heat up. His face was inches from mine, his lips were so close. I remembered the night of the dance, when I'd been dared to kiss him. I couldn't help but remember how soft they were. And before I could stop myself I was leaning in and closing my eyes.

Then I felt a wet slobbery tongue hit my face and squinted up at my friend's dog.

"We really are not friends!" I joke, shaking my head at the dog's wrinkled face. She responds with a low short bark and once again drags her wet tongue across my face.

Me and Ritz manage to push her away and stand up. When we walk inside, he shuts the door and leads me up to his room. We scroll through the movies, and eventually we decide on "Marly & Me".

I have to admit, for a movie that's supposed to be about a puppy it was really sad. I mean having the dog die at the very end was just cruel.

The movie ended and we just sat there.

"Told you we should'a watched 'Homeward Bound'." Ritz says.

"Yeah I probably should've taken your advice." I laugh.

"You really need to do that more." He laughs.

"Yeah." I say. "Well now I'm bored."

"Well we can have some fun-"

"Excuse me?" I smirk, cutting him off. "What are you trying to do with me?"

His face turns the darkest shade of purple I've ever seen. So. Fucking. Cute.

"W-what?! I- I didn't mean- NOT LIKE THAT!" He exclaimed, stumbling around cutely with his words.

I laughed. "I'm JOKING! You're cute."

His face turns an even darker purple then before. Adorable.

"Oh. O-okay." He says.

I chuckle. 

"Wanna know what I actually meant?" He asks.

"What?"

"This." He says, then he comes over and starts tickling me.

"RITZ! WHAT THE HELL?!" I yell through fits of laughter.

He doesn't stop, and soon both of us have fallen onto the floor laughing like total idiots. I turn my head to face him, but what I hadn't realized that he was doing the exact same thing. And suddenly on complete accident our lips lock together.

Hehehehehehehehehe! CLIFFHANGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
