Chapter 2: The Otaku Writer
It's been a week since the Service Club has helped the orange haired girl of 2-F, Yui Yuigahama. This bright and bubble girl was quite different from the protagonist.
Y/N was currently lying in his bed, asleep. His normal schedule after school was do his homework and finish it then immediately got to bed or dinner once his sister calls for him. Overall, his life was pretty laid back. He didn't really have anyone to tell him what to do, aside his sister and occasionally his brother, he didn't really have to do anything. He was his own man. His own boss. That's all that mattered to him at this point.
(A/N): Imagine their apartment as the one that Yukino has, but a lot less fancier than hers.
In the hallway of the large apartment, a black haired girl with grey eyes, height around 5'4", was walking down the hall and came across Y/N's room. This was his older sister, Setsuna, around the same age of Yukino's sister, Haruno.
(A/N): Touko Nanami from Bloom Into You.
She started to knock on the door and proceeds to call Y/N's name.
Setsuna: Y/N! It's time to get up! Come on! You've got school!
Y/N: (behind door) Alright, alright. I hear ya.
Seeing as how her brother is awake, she left the door and went back to the kitchen, prepping to do her work again.
She heard footsteps walk in and she looks to another boy, around 5'9", with black hair and grey eyes, but darker. This was Itsuki, Y/N's older brother and the oldest of the three siblings.
(A/N): Izuki Shun from Kuroko's Basketball.
Setsuna: Morning.
Itsuki: Morning. Is Y/N up?
Setsuna: Woke up a few seconds ago? Why do you ask?
Itsuki: Is he? You know...
Setsuna: ...I'd say he's doing a lot better than he was in middle school, but he's a long way from who he originally was. It doesn't help that dad doesn't care.
Itsuki: He doesn't care about any of us.
Setsuna: When did he ever?
Itsuki: Never did. (looks at clock) Got to be leaving soon.
Setsuna: Already? But it's only eight o' clock.
Itsuki: My boss wants me in by nine today. Might not be home until after dinner. Most likely we'll be busy in the office.
Setsuna: Alright. Stay safe, you hear?
Itsuki: Same to you. Don't be sleeping with any other guys now.
Setsuna: You know I don't swing that way.
Itsuki: Just making sure.
Setsuna: (rolls eyes jokingly) Get out of here.
Itsuki: Yeah, yeah.
Itsuki leaves the room and goes out the door and Setsuna goes back to making breakfast. She hears the bathroom door open and out comes Y/N in his school uniform.
Y/N: Ohayo.
(A/N): Good morning.
Setsuna: Ohayo. Get a good nights sleep?
Y/N: Fine. Nii-san leave yet?
Setsuna: Just left actually. Needs to be in by nine. His boss may keep him till dinner.
Y/N: Alright then. You should get ready for school.
Setsuna looks at her clothing and saw that she was still in an apron and in her pajamas still. She looks at the clock and saw that she only had thirty minutes left.
Freaking out, she rushes to the bathroom and prepares for school. Y/N, unimpressed, writes a quick note and grabs his bag and heads to Sobu High. Another boring week for him to be in the Service Club.
Timeskip
Y/N was currently sitting in his desk near the window, looking out of it. He glances to Hikigaya who was glancing somewhere else. He looks to where the eyes-dead like a fish boy looks to and sees the "popular" clique. Consisting of Hayato Hayama from his childhood, Yui Yuigahama from last week, Yumiko Miura, a popular girl who has the hots for Hayama, and a few other people.
Y/N didn't belong to any cliques and he went back to looking out the window, thinking about things.
Y/N: (thoughts) How many years has it been? I've been so depressed that I lost all count. Does dad still care? Who am I kidding, of course he doesn't.
He grits his teeth and clenches his fist. Y/N had a burning passion of hatred for his father. Hirmada L/N was his name. And influential political man. Due to his occupation, he rarely ever showed himself to his children, which led his own children to resent him, the most resentment coming from the youngest son. Always absorbed in his work, he had a busy schedule. The only free time his schedule had was when the L/N family would have business talks with the Yukinoshita's.
He sighs to himself as he leans back in his chair. The other kids notice his movements and only stare at him. The Lone Prince is what they called him. Being the most popular guy in school, the second being Hayama, he had the ire of every single boy, except Hayato and his clique. Most girls would give him the batting eyelashes and what not to do anything to get his attention. Y/N did admit his good looks, but he hated it as he looked like his father. His sister looked more like his mother. Itsuki looked a bit like their father too, but it was less than Y/N. The three despised Hirmada a lot, but not as much as Y/N.
???: Hey.
Y/N: Hmm?
Looking up, he sees Hayato giving off the signature friendly smile that he's known throughout the school. His clique was also with him.
Hayato: (gesturing to seat in front) Mind if I sit here?
Y/N: Do what you want.
Hayato takes a seat and clasps his hands together, still giving Y/N the same smile.
Hayato: How have you been?
Y/N: Fine.
Hayato: How are your siblings?
Y/N: Good.
Hayato: Have you tried talking to your dad?
Y/N: That man...he's not my father. As far as I'm concerned, my father died a long time ago.
Hayato: What about Oba-san Sarashiki?
Yumiko: Sarashiki? That famous model? Didn't she--
Y/N: Don't speak another word.
Yumiko: What? Are you--
Y/N: Just shut up!
Everyone looked to Y/N as he yelled, surprised by Y/N's outburst. Realizing his outburst, he grabs his bag and runs out to no one knows where.
Yumiko: What's his problem? Besides, isn't she dead? I've always wanted to meet her.
Hayato: Y/N never really had a good time with his father. When...
Hayama pauses as what he's about to say was sensitive information. He knew this from Setsuna and didn't really want to say anything as it was hard for him to accept that fact as well. When Y/N and him played together when they were younger, he saw Sarashiki as an aunt, a mother figure. Hayato knew that Y/N looked up to his mother a great deal.
When he heard the news over in America, he knew how much it broke Y/N's heart. In fact, when he first saw in this school, he expected Y/N to give him a high five as they reunited. But instead, he just walked past him like he was nothing. Similar to a pebble in the middle of the road.
Hayato: (shakes) Never mind. It's nothing. It's not my place to say.
Hayama's clique were unsure about his answer. But they were unsure of Y/N's outburst. They all new the L/N boy as a quiet and bored person, sitting there like having not a care for a world.
But the new emotion that he displayed in class shows that he wasn't just quiet and bored all the time. They knew he was hurt. But what was he hurt about? From what they could tell, only Hayama knew of what Y/N was hurting on about.
With Y/N
Y/N walked down the hall, ignoring the people that were walking down to whatever business they had. As he was walking, he didn't know that a certain queen was watching him.
She was about to talk to him until she caught a glimpse of his eyes. They didn't seem like the ones they normally had. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, only knowing where he wanted to go, completely ignoring anyone that was in his vicinity, and the hurt that was in his eyes.
She was quite puzzled. She knew nothing of what made him hurt and he would usually speak his mind to her when he had problem and she would come to him if she had a problem as well. While she was invited by Yuigahama to eat lunch with her, she was more concerned for Y/N and his well being. She wasn't quite sure why she was overly concerned with him. Sure, she considered him a friend and wanted to help him, mostly due to Hiratsuka's request. She then thought back to the words he said last week.
"Not everyone can change, Yukinoshita. Just accept it."
What could she do change him? Help him? This was probably one of the most hardest requests she had to do.
Instead of heading to class 2-F, she followed the black haired boy, wondering what was up with him. She ended up following him outside. Y/N was standing there, staring up at the sky. She hid behind the wall and started to listen in.
Y/N: Are you watching, kaa-san? You're probably wondering...why am I like this? (scoffs) I don't know myself...
She was confused as to why he was talking to himself. Then again, she didn't know that his mother died and she knew that his mother was the world to him. Aside from talking to her, Y/N loved talking to his mother and did anything he could to impress her, show her how much he adored her.
Then she heard something else. It was sniffles. Y/N was crying.
Y/N: Gomen'nasai kaa-san...you always told me to remain happy no matter where you are...but...how can I when your gone!
As Y/N fell onto his knees, crying his eyes out, the rain patters as he does. There was some sort of sadness emanating off of Y/N. Yukino could feel it.
He said gone. What did he mean? She didn't want to narrow it down to Sarashiki being dead. She didn't want to believe that. She wanted that to be the worse case scenario possible. There was a tugging sensation in her heart. There was even a voice in her head, telling her something. But she didn't know what to do.
Seeing as there was nothing to do about this situation, she left the black haired boy to his grief, even if it pained her to do so.
Timeskip
It was near the end of the day. In class 2-F, Y/N and Hachiman were getting their stuff together. Y/N's clothing had already dried up, his jacket zipper undone, showing his uniform underneath.
As he got his stuff ready, he could hear the murmurs of the class.
Boy 1: Wonder what that was all about earlier today?
Boy 2: Don't know, but I feel as we shouldn't pester him about it.
Boy 1: Noted.
Girl 1: You think L/N's okay?
Girl 2: I don't know. Is there anything we can do to help him?
Girl 3: Ssshh! Do you want him to hear us!? What if he's not interested in us?
Girls 1 and 2: Sorry!
The L/N simply rolls his eyes and walks out of the door, seconds later, Hachiman walks out as well, following the L/N boy.
As they both walked, Hachiman couldn't help but steal glances at the L/N. Like all the other people in his class, he wondered what it was that caused him to have such an outburst.
But, they never talked to each other so he simply dropped the subject and the two walked in silence.
It wasn't until Y/N stopped, causing Hikigaya to bump into him.
Hachiman: Hey! What's--
He stops talking and looks ahead of the L/N. He sees that Yukinoshita and Yuigahama were standing outside of the sliding door with confused looks on their faces.
Hachiman: What're you doing?
The two girls shriek and look at Hachiman, giving him disapproving looks.
Yukino: Perhaps you could learn not to scare people? Again, Y/N, why didn't you stop him?
Y/N simply shrugs. What was he going to do?
Hachiman: (looks away) Well, sorry. So? What're you up to?
The two girls look at each other and shrug.
Yui: There's a suspicious person in there.
Hachiman: Huh?
They open the door to find a silver-grey colored haired man, standing on a chair with one foot while the other is on the floor. Papers were flying all around as the brown trench coat he wore was waving with the wind the glasses wearing boy simply chuckles.
???: To think we should meet here!
The three give unimpressed looks while Y/N, always, stares at the teen with a look of boredom.
???: I've been waiting for you, Hachiman Hikigaya!
The grey haired boy turns around and strikes a pose, while the four just look on with utter confusion.
Yukino: (looks to Hachiman) An acquaintance of yours?
Hachiman: I don't know him. Even if I do, I don't.
Y/N: He's just in our gym class.
???: (takes stance as if wielding a katana) Oh, so you'd forget the face of your comrade? You disappoint me, Hachiman!
Y/N: He's only saying that as we had to have partners one day and Hikigaya just so happens to have him as his partner.
Yui: But he just called him comrade?
???: Yes, comrade! Surely you remember those hellish days as we charged through the fields together!
Y/N: He's referring to the gym classes.
Hachiman: He's not wrong. I was gym partners with him once.
???: Ah, what vile tradition! To form pairs with whomever you like? (chuckles) I know not when I should meet my end! Never shall I look upon another with favor!
Hachiman: (sigh) ...What do you want, Zaimokuza?
Yui: So you do know him!
Y/N: Not really. He's just there in gym class.
Yukino: Are you a stalker?
Y/N: No. Why would you think that?
Yukino: You seem to know an awful lot about him.
Y/N: (sigh) What kind of deductive reasoning is that?
Yukino: I was simply using my skills to assess the situation.
Y/N: Whatever.
Ignoring the grey haired teen in the room, Y/N walks in as if no one else was in there and grabs his chair, setting it up by the window and sits in it, a bored look sporting his face once again.
The others just only look at Y/N, but what did they expect? He just didn't have a care for the world. They then return their attention back to Zaimokuza.
Yui: So you do know him.
Yukino: Who is he?
Zaimokuza: (sheathes imaginary katana) I am the Blademaster General, Zaimokuza Yoshiteru!
Yukino: I think your friend wants something from you.
Hachiman: He's not my friend.
Zaimokuza: Indeed. I have no friends. (quietly) Seriously. (normal) I'm a loner. A question, Hachiman. This is the Service Club, is it not?
Y/N and Yukino: Yes, this is the Service Club.
Zaimokuza glances at Yukino, but returns his stare back to Hachiman, irritating the Yukinoshita girl.
Zaimokuza: I thought so! If the words of Scholar Hiratsuka are to be trusted, Hachiman, you are obliged to fulfill my wish! That I should remain your master after these hundreds of years! Perhaps the will of the Great Bodhisattva Hachiman is at work.
Yukino: The Service Club does not grant your wishes.
Y/N: Then what does it grant? Hopeless wishes? Scenarios? Sounds about right.
Yukino: Be quiet Y/N.
Y/N: (waves off) Whatever.
Zaimokuza: (looks to Yukino then Hachiman) I see, Hachiman! Assist me! Hehe. Once, we were of equal footing! Come! Let us once again strive to rule all of Japan!
Y/N: (mutters) Jesus fucking christ, the way he speaks reminds me of that one crappy anime when it hit the third season. God it was garbage.
Hachiman: What happened to being my master?
Zaimokuza: Ahem! Ahem! Such matters are trivial between us! This once, I shall allow...
He starts to sweat as he runs out of words to say. He looks to Hachiman with a pleading face, asking for help.
Hachiman: Why the hell are you looking at me?
Yukino: Hikigaya-kun, one second. (whisper) So what is this "Blademaster General" thing?
Hachiman: It's called "eight-grade syndrome."
Y/N: That crappy thing?
Yukino: Eight-grade syndrome?
Hachiman: You see, eight-grade syndrome is...
Small Timeskip of Hachiman explaining
(A/N): No this actually happened in the anime, which is what I'm basing the book off of.
Hachiman: ...So it's not a real disease.
Y/N: It's just something dumb.
Yui: That made zero sense.
Y/N: It's not supposed to make sense.
Yukino: So basically, he's acting out a character based on a fantasy in his mind?
Y/N: Let's see, acting, check. Him thinking of a fictional character, check. Is it possible an anime or popular series based off of historical events? Check. He has the glasses, so potential weeb or otaku? Double check.
Hachiman: That sums it up, yeah. Anyway, they just happen to have the same name, so his fantasy is based around the 13th shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, Ashikaga Yoshiteru.
Y/N: Told you he's a classified weeb over there. He probably wrote fanfiction and wants us to critique it.
Yukino: That doesn't explain why Hikigaya-kun is apart of his fantasy.
Y/N: His name. The Seiwa Genji line revered the Great Bodhisattva Hachiman is a god of war.
Yukino: I'm surprised. You know your history.
Y/N: Sure. Not that it's actually useful in most careers.
Hachiman: At least his fantasies are based on history. There's a lot worse out there.
Y/N: Yes, there are a lot worse fantasies out there. Some include me and it's concerning.
Yukino: Like what?
Y/N: Take a guess. It's what most high school girls fantasize about.
The small thought was enough to cause Yukino to blush a little, but regains her composure and brings her attention back to Zaimokuza, who was doing ridiculous poses for the past few minutes.
Yukino: S-So there are worse fantasies than that?
Hachiman: Yes.
Yukino: Just for reference, like what?
Hachiman: Well for one, the ones that Y/N has mentioned, but let me give an example. In the beginning, the world was ruled by seven gods. First, the gods of creation, the three central deities: the Sage Emperor, Garan; the Goddess of War, Messica; and the Defender of Hearts, Heartia. Next--
Y/N: Stop. That sounds horrible. (looks to Yukino) Your ability to lead questions can be quite scary sometimes. You made him give the story in whole detail.
Yukino: (confused) But I didn't lead him an inch.
Yui: Gross.
Hachiman: Anyway, I maybe had a case in the past, but I don't anymore. (thoughts) I don't have ridiculous fantasies anymore. I don't cosplay anymore either. I don't keep spirit world diaries or government reports anymore. But, I'm still keeping a list of people to kill.
Yui: Yukinon, get away from him!
Y/N: Yukinon?
As Yukino got closer to him, Zaimokuza had grown nervous. He was not one to speak to girls as he previously stated, he is a loner as well. Y/N concluded that Zaimokuza has no courage to speak to any girl at all.
Yukino: I think I understand. Your request is to cure you of your mental illness.
Y/N: I don't think it's mental illness. I'm pretty sure it's critiquing fanfic. Gross.
Zaimokuza: (looks to Hachiman) I have come to invoke my contract with you! Grant me my wish! This wish is truly noble--
Yukino: I'm the one talking to you. When someone is talking to you, you face them.
Zaimokuza: (faces Yukino and laughs awkwardly) By the heavens--
Yukino: And stop talking like that.
The grey haired immediately ceases and looks down, dejectedly. Shut down in an instant.
Yui: Wow, Yukinon.
Y/N: As always, shutting people down at your finest. Geez your scary sometimes.
Yukino: You want us to correct your mental illness, correct?
Y/N: I'm not even going to correct you.
Zaimokuza: Well, it's not really an illness...
Hachiman: Hey, that's enoug--huh? (looks down) What's this?
Hikigaya leans down and picks up the paper he was stepping on. And Y/N was indeed right. Well...half right.
Picking up all the papers, Hachiman places them on the desk by the wall.
Hachiman: (sweat drops) A manuscript for a novel?
Y/N: Told you it was around the lines like that. Why can't you ask a teacher?
Zaimokuza: Indeed! It is a manuscript for a light novel. I didn't show this to the teacher because I don't want them finding out.
Y/N: I don't see the logic in it.
Zaimokuza: Anyway, I'm thinking of entering a contest for new authors, but I have no friends, so I can't get opinions on my work. Read it please.
Yukino: (sigh) I think you just said something very sad without any hesitation.
Hachiman: There are sites where you can put these things up. Just ask for comments on one of them.
Zaimokuza: I can't do that. They have no mercy.
Y/N: Then how else are they supposed to critique your manuscript?
Zaimokuza: If they condemn it, I may die.
Hachiman: Damn, you're weak. But you know...I think Yukinoshita's more merciless than those sites.
Y/N: Wouldn't be surprised. She is quite blunt with her statements.
Yukino: And you aren't either?
Y/N: I'd like to think I'm not, but what do I know?
Timeskip
Y/N was now walking home, heading across the street to him and his sibling's apartment complex.
When he opened the door, his sister was already in the room, cooking dinner. When she heard the door open, she greeted her younger brother in.
Setsuna: Welcome home.
Y/N: Yeah.
Setsuna: Having fun at school?
Y/N: I guess.
Setsuna: You come home later then earlier. In a club?
Y/N: Forced.
Setsuna: Forced? By who?
Y/N: Hiratsuka-sensei.
Setsuna: Oh. Dinner will be ready soon so wash up.
Y/N: Yeah, yeah.
The L/N does a quick wash up and heads back to his room. As he waited, he read the manuscript. As he skimmed through it, his disinterested face changed to one of disgust. Needless to say, he did not enjoy it. Not one bit. He even restrained himself from burning the creation as it was just too horrible.
He puts it back in his bag and joins his sister at the table. As they begun eating, the door opens and their older brother comes in.
Itsuki: Tadaima!
Setsuna: Okaeri.
Y/N: Yeah.
Itsuki: Curry tonight, huh?
Setsuna: Yeah. The restaurant owner was kind enough to lend me the recipe.
Itsuki: The one where you work at part time?
Setsuna: Yeah. How was work?
Itsuki: The boss let me off the hook for the day. But real tired. A lot of reports had come in. I'll be taking a bath first.
Setsuna: It should be ready.
Y/N: Tabemono o arigato.
Setsuna: Done already?
Y/N: Yeah. Heading to bed. Night.
Setsuna: Good...night then...
As they watched their younger brother enter his room, they sighed and continued on. The household wasn't lively. Everything wasn't the same.
It was...empty. At least that's what it felt like.
Next Day, Service Club Room
It was the next day and the other members of the Service Club met up again. Hikigaya was looking tired from reading the manuscript. Yukino was asleep, same thing as Y/N. The peculiar thing was, her chair was right next to the L/N.
Her head resting on his shoulder while he rested his on hers. Hachiman didn't know whether this scene was intentional or unintentional. One thing was what kept confirming his suggestion on the first day he met these two in this room.
Hachiman: (thoughts) These two fit together so well it's kinda scary. Yeesh.
The dead eyes like a fish boy clears his throat and Yukino wakes up. Seeing the position she was in, she blushes and moves her chair back to the way it was and saw Hikigaya rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Soon after, Y/N wakes up as well.
Y/N: (slurs awake) Huh...? What time is it? (yawns)
He looks to see a blushing Yukino and Hachiman standing there awkwardly.
Y/N: What's wrong with you two?
Hachiman: Nothing.
Yukino: Y-Yes. I-It's nothing.
Later on, the rest shows up and Zaimokuza sits proudly in his chair.
Zaimokuza: Now then! Shall we hear your opinions?
Yukino: I'm sorry. I'm not exactly familiar with these kinds of things.
Zaimokuza: No matter! I wanted to hear the opinions of the common man as well. Say all you will!
Yukino: Okay...it's trash. In fact, it was painful to read.
Y/N: It was so bad that I had to restrain myself from burning it. It sucked.
Yukino: It was trashier than anything I've ever imagined.
Zaimokuza: (shrieks in a mock pain) F-For future reference, could you perhaps elaborate on what was so trashy?
Yukino: First, you need to work on your grammar. (flips page) Do you have to use hyperbaton in every sentence?
Y/N: Also, where is the plot? It was pretty much nonexistent. Half the time, I didn't even know what you were talking about.
Yukino: Not only that, the subject comes first in a sentence. Didn't you learn that in elementary school?
Y/N: You sure you don't have the brain of a sheep?
Zaimokuza: (still in mock pain) It's to keep the writing simple and friendly to the reader--
Y/N: You can still do that if you learned how to write in proper Japanese.
Yukino: As for the kanji readings, you're abusing them.
Y/N: I counted at least one-hundred fifty on a single page.
Yukino: The characters for "ability" can't be read as "power." And there is no kanji even related to "Nightmare" in the name "Bloody Nightmare Slasher."
Zaimokuza: No, you see, different readings are a feature of modern battle--
Yukino: And why does the heroine take off her clothes here?
Y/N: Is it supposed to be fan service? It's lazy writing and was just terrible in general. There was no need for it.
Yukino: It was sickening.
Zaimokuza: (shrieks in mock pain again) But without service like that--
Yukino: And you don't make people read a story you haven't finished writing. Maybe you should work on your common sense before your writing skills.
The otaku writer drops to his knees and starts to grovel.
Hachiman: I think that's enough. Laying everything down at once is kind of, you know...
Y/N: What? Everything we said is the truth.
Yukino: I still have quite a bit to say, but whatever. (looks to Yui) Yuigahama-san, perhaps you'd like to go next.
Yui: Eh!? Um...you know a lot of difficult kanji.
Zaimokuza: (shrieks in mock pain)
Yui: Next, Hikky, go ahead!
Zaimokuza: Hachiman...you can understand it, right?
Hachiman grins and the grey haired boy thinks he has hope after all, but his hope was shut down, again.
Hachiman: So, what story are you copying?
That was the last straw as Zaimokuza shrieks in mock pain once again and starts to roll and flail around on the floor.
Yukino: You're merciless.
Yui: Hey...
Hachiman: (puts hand on Zaimokuza's shoulder) Well, all that matters are the pictures anyway. The content's not all that big a deal.
Timeskip-Dawn
Zaimokuza: Will you read my writing again?
Y/N: Never. (gets elbowed by Yukino) What was that for?
Yukino: You didn't need to answer like that.
Yui: Are you a masochist?
Hachiman: You've still got the balls to try again?
Zaimokuza: Of course! It may be fact that you condemned it, but I was still happy. Having someone to read something I enjoyed writing and hearing their opinions is a nice thing.
Hachiman: (grins) I get it. I'll read it.
Y/N: (sigh) Why not.
Zaimokuza: (turns around) Farewell! When I've got another one, I'll bring it to you!
Zaimokuza leaves and goes down the steps. Once he reached the base, he takes a few steps and turns around and starts to flail his hands around, confusing the others.
Zaimokuza: There! Barrier!
Later on, as Y/N walked home, he received a message from Yukino, asking him to meet her at a nearby park.
He met up with her and the two were now sitting on a bench.
Y/N: So? Why did you call me here?
Yukino: You have a problem don't you? I'm willing to listen.
Y/N's eyes widen a little. He started to speak and saw how Yukino listened intently. He then starts to feel her head lay on his shoulder, but he continues to tell his story. The reason why he's never happy.
Y/N: There. That's my life's story.
There was no response as there were quiet snores. Looking over, Yukino had fallen asleep. It was eight PM and his lips curved upward a little.
He leans down and kisses the top of her head.
Y/N: I'm sorry that you've had to listen to me when I listed my problems all those years back. Thank you.
He didn't know what the feeling was in his chest. All he knows is...
There was a small amount of happiness left there.
