Being a servant to a virtue was different than being a servant to a sin. Much different.

Servants of the virtues weren't actually servants. The word worshipers would suit them better. Rather than seeing the duty of waiting at the hand and foot of every virtue as a curse, they saw it as a blessing. Something to be proud of, the fact that their bloodline was holy enough to  even be in the same room as these angelic beings. They adored the fact they were allowed to wait on them, and never once would utter a word of complaint. Not to mention, these worshipers to the sins were looked up to, rather than looked down upon like the slaves the sins had.

The seven deadly sins held everything bad, or wrong  with the world within them. All the disgusting greed, lust, pride, and everything that caused any kind of conflict within the human race was what they thrived on.  Every slave family that was cursed to have fallen onto a sin's bad side and serve them for the rest of eternity were pitied by others but the pity didn't stop them from being harassed over it either. After all, serving the malicious and evil sins, how could that be condoned?

Suffice to say, most of the members of the two families were at ends with each other. All they would do is argue and fight anytime they were within the same vicinity of each other. The holy virtues servants against the deadly sin's slaves. Everyone except your parents that is. They didn't believe in the whole battle of bad blood, or maybe they did for a while before love had them opening their eyes. It was a Romeo and Juliet story for the Gods, truly. They got married in secret, started a family in secret.

You grew up hearing of both side's stories, rather than just the sins or the virtues. All the good, and all the bad. One side wasn't ever totally painted in a bad light and of course things were never just black and white. Of course the sins tended to have more ill fated stories than the virtues but that couldn't be avoided, could it?

Your parents had thought you would only care about the sins and the virtues until your early teen years, having never interacted with one (that you knew of), they kept that part of your life a myth. Or tried to, you were too stubborn and believed that sins and virtues truly did exist. Eventually they stopped trying to gaslight you into believing they were simply made up. That's how you ended up in Morality. A company that helped with the otherworldly issues that occurred on Earth and trying to keep them quiet. Your boss was none other than the virtue of Diligence himself. Someone you rarely saw but adored and looked up to nonetheless. He was a virtue after all, working a not so simple 9-5 job. What's not to adore?

You had just closed a case where a demon and a human had an unfortunate meeting, and were exhausted right down to your bones. One may have thought a human being working with demons would be the thing to take a toll on them, but even at Morality, paperwork was killer. You were ready to head home and crash after eating some leftover take out, it was late and you were practically alone in the office. Other than diligence of course, the light beneath his door showing he was still hard at work. As you made your way to the elevator, your hand moving to press the button to bring it up, your wrist was caught by someone. Turning your head, you found yourself staring into two inhumanly red eyes. The eyes that had plagued your stories growing up. Sin eyes.
