XXXV. Into the Wilds

In the dimly lit hideout of the League of Villains, Tomura Shigaraki leaned back, a sinister smile creeping across his face. "Kurogiri, our master has already figured out where the students are going for the summer," he said, his voice low and filled with anticipation. "I know where you're going, and soon, she will be ours forever."

Before Kurogiri could respond, the door swung open, and Giran stepped in, his expression serious. "The union has approved your request, Tomura," he announced, catching their attention. "They have high expectations for you and the League. Once you step into the spotlight, other villains will follow your lead."

As Giran left, the weight of his words hung in the air. Tomura turned to Kurogiri, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "The games are about to begin," he declared, the thrill of impending chaos electrifying the atmosphere.

With a plan forming in his mind, Tomura felt the thrill of the hunt. This summer would change everything.

As the first semester at U.A. High School officially concluded, Shota stood before his class, a serious expression on his face. "Listen up, everyone. Your limits will be tested at training camp over the summer," he announced, his voice steady.

You exchanged excited glances with Izuku Midoriya, your heart racing at the thought. "This is going to be amazing!" you said, unable to contain your enthusiasm. "I can't wait to push myself and get stronger!"

Izuku nodded eagerly, his eyes shining with determination. "Yeah! Training camp is a great opportunity for us to improve our skills and learn more about our quirks!"

The thought of intense training, teamwork, and the chance to grow alongside your friends filled you with anticipation. You could already envision the challenges ahead and the bonds that would strengthen during this time.

As Aizawa continued to explain the details, you felt a surge of excitement. This summer would not only be about training but also about creating unforgettable memories with your classmates. You were ready to embrace whatever challenges awaited you at camp!

Aizawa brushed a bit of his hair back, his expression a mix of urgency and determination. "Come on, let's go to the buses; they're already waiting, and you'll need your hero costumes," he said, prompting everyone to file out in a single line. You walked just ahead of Izuku, excitement bubbling inside you as you approached the two buses—one for Class 1-A and the other for Class 1-B.

As you reached the buses, Neito Monoma from Class 1-B appeared, taunting your class about those who had failed the final exams. His voice dripped with smugness, but before he could say much more, Itsuka Kendo swiftly knocked him out, leading her class onto their bus with a determined stride.

Minoru Mineta's eyes lit up at the sight of Class 1-B's girls boarding the bus. "Yes! The girls from Class 1-B are going to be there too!" he exclaimed, his excitement palpable. You shot him a strange look, shaking your head at his antics, and playfully whacked his head with your tail.

Aizawa shot you a look that was both amused and stern. "Be careful, Y/N. Don't knock your classmates out," he warned, though you could see the hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

You sniffed, feigning innocence. "I was just giving him a friendly reminder!" you replied, a grin spreading across your face as you hopped onto the bus, ready for the adventure that awaited you at training camp.

As you all filed onto the bus, you found a seat beside Shoto Todoroki. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, but he remained silent, his gaze flickering toward you every now and then.

"Are you excited?" you asked, breaking the silence. He turned to you, his two-toned hair framing his face, and nodded slowly. "I think it'll be good for training my quirks," he replied, a hint of enthusiasm in his voice.

You smiled, feeling the spark of magic within you. With a flick of your wrist, you conjured a small flame that danced at your fingertips, mirroring the flickers of fire that sparked from Todoroki's own. The two flames caught each other, swirling and twirling in a mesmerizing dance between your hands.

"Yeah, it'll be fun," you said, watching the flames flicker in rhythm. Todoroki's eyes softened as he observed the playful display, a small smile creeping onto his lips.

In that moment, the anticipation of training camp felt even more thrilling, knowing you'd be pushing your limits alongside friends—especially someone as intriguing as Todoroki. The bus began to rumble forward, and you couldn't help but feel that this summer would be unforgettable.

Hours after the bus ride, you all stepped off into a lush, forested area that felt alive with energy. The air was fresh, filled with the earthy scent of pine and the distant sounds of rustling leaves. You took a deep breath, your senses heightened as you scanned your surroundings.

"Smell anything?" Kirishima asked, his bright smile infectious. You hummed thoughtfully, closing your eyes for a moment. "A lot of life around here," you replied, feeling the vibrant pulse of nature.

Suddenly, a car pulled up, and your attention shifted. Two women stepped out, exuding a confident aura. One had striking brown hair that cascaded down her back. "Eraser! Hey, long time no see!" she called out, waving enthusiastically. Aizawa turned, a hint of a smile on his usually stoic face. "Nice to meet you again," he said, bowing slightly.

The woman then turned to your class and Class 1-B with a cheerful grin. "Well, hello there! We are the Wild, Wild Pussycats!"

Izuku's eyes lit up with excitement as he recognized them. "Wait! You're the great heroes from the last decade!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with awe.

Before he could say more, Pixie-Bob playfully grabbed him by the head, her grip firm yet affectionate. "Oh, we're still young at heart!" she declared, her laughter ringing through the air.

You couldn't help but smile at the interaction, feeling the warmth of camaraderie fill the space. The Wild, Wild Pussycats were not just heroes; they were vibrant personalities that brought a sense of fun and adventure to the training camp. You could already sense that this experience would be unlike any other, filled with challenges and unforgettable moments alongside your friends and these legendary figures.

Pixie-Bob turned to you with a playful smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, wow, look at you!" she exclaimed, grabbing your hands and pressing her face close to yours. "You're even prettier in real life! Marry me, Y/N!"

You couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm, a light blush creeping onto your cheeks. "Sorry, but I'm not interested!" you replied with a grin, trying to keep the mood light.

The surrounding classmates erupted in laughter, and even Aizawa let out a small sigh, shaking his head as if to say, "Here we go again." Pixie-Bob feigned disappointment, dramatically placing a hand over her heart. "What a shame! I was ready to take you on adventures!"

You laughed, enjoying the playful banter. "Maybe we can just be friends for now?" you suggested, winking at her.

"Friends it is!" she declared, releasing your hands and stepping back, her grin never fading. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie, and you felt more excited than ever for the adventures that awaited you at training camp.

The brown-haired girl, Mandalay, gathered everyone's attention, gesturing toward the forest lodge nestled at the base of the mountainside. "Listen up! You all need to hurry if you want to make it to lunch by noon!"

A wave of panic swept through the students as they rushed back toward the bus, eager to avoid what they anticipated would be a grueling training session. All except you, of course. You stood your ground, knowing that this was an unavoidable part of your experience at training camp.

With a mischievous grin, Pixie-Bob stepped forward, her quirk shimmering in the air. "Don't worry, I've got a faster way to get there!" Before anyone could protest, she unleashed her power, sending the students soaring over the mountainside and into the depths of the Beast's Forest.

As you fell, instinct kicked in, and you reached out, grabbing onto whoever was closest. To your surprise, it was Tokoyami. Dark Shadow emerged from the shadows, wrapping around you securely. You felt a rush of exhilaration as you plummeted, and you couldn't help but smile up at Tokoyami. "Promise not to drop me," you flirted, your heart racing from both the thrill of the fall and the proximity to him.

Tokoyami's cheeks flushed a faint shade of crimson, and even Dark Shadow let out a soft chuckle. "Only a fool would drop a girl like you," he teased back, his voice smooth and confident as you all touched down on the ground with a soft thud.

The forest around you was alive with sounds, the air filled with the scent of pine and wildflowers. You looked around, excitement bubbling within you. "Well, that was quite the entrance!" you exclaimed, still holding onto Tokoyami's arm for balance.

He cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Let's just focus on getting to the lodge," he said, though you could see the hint of a smile on his lips.

With your heart racing and the thrill of adventure ahead, you felt ready to tackle whatever challenges awaited you in the Beast's Forest.

You sniffed the air, feeling the tension in the forest, when suddenly a giant stone monster loomed out of nowhere, roaring ferociously at your group. Without thinking, adrenaline surged through you, and you charged at it impulsively. With a powerful swing of your tail, you bashed it right on the head. The impact sent cracks spiderwebbing across its surface, and with a thunderous crash, it collapsed.

"Stay as a group, Y/N!" Iida shouted, waving his hands to keep everyone together. You huffed out smoke, adrenaline still coursing through your veins, when another beast emerged—a pterodactyl-like creature screeching above.

"Let's take it down!" you called to Izuku, and together you leaped into action, coordinating your moves to bring the creature down. It was exhilarating, the thrill of battle igniting a fire within you.

As the team faced off against various beasts—dragons, bears, and even elephants—each encounter pushed you further. You fought hard, but soon fatigue set in, your muscles aching and sore. As evening fell, you finally made your way through the dense forest, eventually reaching the lodge.

Class 1-A was severely worn out, but the pro heroes welcomed you with congratulations. Pixie-Bob, especially, took a liking to you, Izuku, Shoto, Tenya, and Katsuki, showering you with praise and playful banter. Aizawa's eyes twitched, clearly not fond of the attention you all were receiving. He turned to Mandalay, his tone slightly exasperated. "Why is she like that?"

Mandalay scratched her neck, looking a bit sheepish. "Oh, it's her mating season soon, and she hasn't found a mate yet," she explained, a hint of amusement in her voice.

As you absorbed this information, your gaze caught a little boy with dark hair and a red cap standing apart from the group. Curious, you turned your head slightly and puffed out a scent you had concocted earlier, one that made Pixie-Bob recoil and cough, along with the others.

"Oh damn, what was that?" Izuku coughed, and you smiled mischievously. "Just a little something I cooked up to keep cats away."

You approached the boy, crouching to his level. "Hey there, I'm Y/N," you introduced yourself, but he merely shot you a stink eye and hissed, "Leave me alone. I don't want to talk to wannabe heroes."

You shook your head, undeterred. "I'm no hero, just training here really," you replied, offering your hand. "You can't be all that mad at us."

He paused, momentarily stopping his spitting, but then turned and walked off. Iida approached, looking concerned. "Oh, what a difficult child," he said, grabbing your shoulders and wiping some spit from your cheek.

Your golden eyes remained focused, ears flicking as you turned to Mandalay. "Who was that?" you asked, genuinely curious.

Mandalay sighed, her expression softening. "That's my cousin, Kota. He's a bit... at odds with heroes. His parents were killed by a villain, so yeah."

You hummed thoughtfully, feeling a pang of sympathy for the boy. It was a heavy burden for anyone to carry, especially at such a young age. You resolved to find a way to connect with him, hoping to show him that not all heroes were to be feared.
