『 BLOOD IN THE WATER 』

     PERSEPHONE STOOD IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR STARING AT HER OWN REFLECTION. She stood perfectly still in her all-black suit. The suit had no emblem of the Black Order and the goddess wore her hair in a slicked-back bun. There was something about her reflection that made her uneasy. She didn't know if it was because she was a ticking time bomb or if they had used her for their own goals. Persephone took in a deep breath, she had her plan all figured out. 

She knew what she was going, she didn't know how she was going to do but it was much needed. The brunette reached into her pocket and found the pomegranate seeds that Gamora had given her. She kept the seeds secure since it was her only way out. She stared at her reflection once more, before turning her back and walking away. 

She walked through the doors of her room before walking towards Thanos' throne room. It was a small walk and there were guards lined up against the walls. Persephone remembered what her mother had always told her. She straightened her back and she stood tall with her arms by her side. 

When arrived in the throne room she felt all eyes fall on her. Persephone stood proudly in front of Thanos who sat on his throne. "Persephone, to what do I owe this pleasure?" 

Persephone took in a deep breath, "I think this conversation has been long overdue," she started, "So let's skip the chit chat, shall we?" 

"How dare you speak to him that way?" Someone from the Black Order commented. Persephone rolled her eyes and looked at Thanos unamused. He looked confused at Persephone's comment. 

"What conversation?" Thanos asked. 

Persephone shook her head, "What your plan was all along," she started, "The fact that you hid the truth from me all along.  The fact that you were going to kill me after you collected all six of the infinity stones." 

The room went silent, no one dared to say a word. A pin drop could have been heard with the silence.  "Persephone, who told you this information?" 

The goddess shrugged, "What makes you think someone told me?" she asked, she wasn't going to betray Gamora. She was the only true friend that Persephone had made and she wasn't going to go against her back. "I'm going to assume by the look on your face that it was your plan, wasn't it?"  

"Persephone," 

"No," she interrupted, "You don't get to speak. I trusted you and you betrayed me, you saw me as a threat, so you took me in to be on your side and help you only for you to kill me in the end. I'm not going to let it happen now." 

One of the members from the Black Order spoke up, "What makes you think we won't kill you now?" 

A smirk spread on the goddess's lip, "I have something you don't," she simply answered. 

"What would that be?" Thanos asked. 

"I am much more powerful than all of you," she started, "I hold a small power of each of the infinity stones which could easily make me the most powerful person in this room with full potential. I managed to put Loki under mind control during the Battle of New York. I could kill you right now if I wanted to, but I'm not going to do that." 

Everyone stood still while Persephone's presence took over the room, "Why not?" 

The goddess reached into her pocket and pulled out the six pomegranate seeds, "I've been in hell for too long," she answered, "I'm going to find all the infinity stones and I am going to destroy them." 

"If you destroy the stones it'll kill you!" 

Persephone looked at Thanos unfazed by her surroundings, "And?" she questioned, "Now, I really must get going, I'm not going to lie, I hated it here, so I'm not going to miss anyone,"  the goddess popped the seeds in her mouth before any of them managed to attack her. Persephone felt the same effect she had when she first ate the seeds. The next thing she saw was her vision go blurry and all she saw was black. 

When Persephone opened her eyes,  she saw nothing but the black pavement beneath her. The goddess got up slowly and found herself surrounded by tall silver buildings with giant screens on them.  Persephone looked around confused and in awe by where she was. There were thousands of people who walked around on their cellphones minding their own business. 

Persephone eyes on her and at first she didn't understand why until she saw her clothes. She stuck out like a sore thumb, she needed to change her clothes. Persephone saw a woman walk out of a store with a giant bag in hand. The goddess followed the woman who was talking on the phone with someone. When she caught up to the woman, she pulled her aside and the woman had let out a small scream. 

"Who the hell are you?" she asked angrily, she had honey-blonde hair and stormy grey eyes. Persephone rolled her eyes in response to her question. 

"What's in the bag?" Persephone asked immediately. 

The woman looked in the bag and then at Persephone, "Clothes, why?" 

"I'm going to need it," Persephone said with a smile. 

The blonde dropped the bag immediately, "You can have it as long as you don't kill me or do anything else," 

"Anything else?" Persephone questioned, she furrowed her brows in confusion, "I'm not stupid enough to kill you," she grabbed the bag from the woman and looked inside. 

The blonde shifted uncomfortably, "You know... it's not really safe for us...uh... gals," 

The goddess shook her head, "You can go now, thank you for cooperating," she thanked, the blonde quickly ran away from Persephone. The brunette quickly walked into a store to change into her new set of clothes. When she looked in the mirror, she looked at her hair and she knew she needed to change it. 

When the goddess managed to find a pair of scissors, she cut her hair short. She cleaned up her mess and walked out as soon as she could. Persephone couldn't help but smile, her plan was already motion. She just had to find the Avengers.
